King's Crownlands (King's Landing)

Cross Realm King's Tournament

The Cross-Realm King's Tournament is an organized exhibition consisting of multi-tiered events or "games" with a primary focus on martial prowess, typically spanning three-days occurring in a triennial format, or once every three years, the event attracts participants from nearly every formally recognized realm , and even some outside the influence of the kingdom like Essos and The Summer Isles respectively. Lords, knights and commoners alike are allowed to perform at these events. The event is meant to inspire a sense of inter-realm pride among competitors, as well as foster goodwill between the various realms.

In truth, the games are little more than an opportunity for leaders of rival realms to compete in a game of oneupsmanship through proximitives, a kind of phallic measuring contest behind a political phallic measuring contest if you will. Which is not to say that games aren't engaging or without their own merit. What other event can a commoner from flea bottom challenge his king in single combat? It is an event like no other. Many knight prospects had their showings in the Cross Realm games.

Renown knights like Sir Cain Marko, Sir James Howlett and Lady Kate Bishop have placed at the Cross Realm Games. It attracts the most able of professionals to compete in their respective disciplines. Some of the brightest stars risen and legends cemented since its introduction. The Cross-Realm Games is in fact a reference to its founder and title holder in the first exhibition of its kind, the king who unified the tribes of Marvelos under a single rule, Borr Odinson whose vision outlined the games as we know it and transformed Marvelos into what it is presently , there are many references to Borr Odinson in the games ceremonies and rituals.

The Cross Realm Games are also known for being an extravagantly festive affair of sorts. Masquerade balls of a more fleshly nature. Royals, maidens, athletes and common whores alike consort with unnatural fervor , an event unlike any other. It's not uncommon for Lord's and Lady's alike to experience things they usually wouldn't indulge in back in their homes, thus was the spirit of the Cross Realm's Games.

On this hollowed eve, this Cross games would officially commence. Though this wouldn't begin until later into the day. This was merely the beginnings of introductions and greetings. A small fleet of great ebony ships docked the southernmost port leading to the capitol just the night before. This along with the vibrant gold-like backdrop of the banners themselves left little doubt to which kingdoms these banners belonged to. There were rumors that the Summer Isles had decreed a new king. Little was known about him outside of the Isles, even to his people he was a bit of a mystery, only legends of a promised prince circulated throughout circles. These were....as of yet, unconfirmed legends.

With this year brought many controversies and tensions leading up to the games, there was the matter of House Hydra suspected involvement in The Summer Isles massacres as well as the disputes between House M, House Grey and some conspiratorial whispers tieng to one of the King's trusted advisors , these were unusual times, the air was a bit thick with an undiagnosed venom, more so than usual. It seemed as if a greater turmoil was something you could expect, a sample of what's to come.

Lady Emma Frost of House M stood beside her lord husband, Lord Scott Summers, her face arranged in an expression of polite curiosity. She wore a gown as white as the snow that fell every year in the Mountains of the Moon. It hugged her figure and accentuated her long legs. Behind her trailed a cape of sorts, wrapped around her shoulders and pooling on the ground behind her. The pearls sewn into the dove-grey fabric of the "cape" shimmered in the bright morning sun with Emma's every move, and a diamond necklace glittered at her throat. There were small freshwater pearls braided into her hair. Three of her treasured Myrish-stiletto-turned-turned-hairpins pinned tendrils of blond locks away from Emma's eyes.

Their household guard, led by Sir James Howlett, stood around them. Emma let a coy smile play over her lips as she eyed some of the other lords and ladies. Their thoughts filled her head, most of them mundane and of no interest to her.

"I do wonder who will be the final winner of this tourney."

"Is that one of Lord Baron's bannermen that I see?"

"I hope that it will not be too hot come noon."

Emma suppressed a yawn. Will Jean Grey be in attendance? I am assuming that she will. She has not forgiven Scott, most like, but a lady of her standing would not miss this tourney for the world. I suppose the more important question is if she will approach Scott or not. Emma's cool blue eyes flitted around the area once again.

"May the Warrior grant me strength."

"Is there not a single flagon of wine to be found in all of Marvelos?"

"What in the seven bloody hells are Summerset Islanders doing here?"

The last thought that she "heard" caught her attention. Emma was almost certain that House Hydra of the Reach had at least had a hand in the murder of Princess Shuri of the House Udaku and her children. Hmm. Perhaps there will be something more interesting than Lady Jean's broken heart here after all, Emma mused to herself.

Emma accompanied her lord husband as he amicably greeted the other lords and ladies in attendance, smiling a polite smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, which remained as cold as ice. This was somewhat intentional; Scott's actions indicated that he cared about the opinions of the other lords and ladies. Emma, frankly, did not, and she wanted the keener, more observant and sharp-eyed ones to take notice. They would know that although Scott spoke of friendship and alliance and cooperation, if any one of them dared to even consider the possibility of double-crossing House M, Emma would be down on them faster than they could blink.

And she meant it. Oh, she meant it. After all, Emma could read thoughts.

Emma's mind wandered to her father. She wondered if he ever found out that she had married Scott Summers, his liege lord. She did not particularly care what he thought of the marriage-she was more concerned with what he actually would do about it. She had expected that Lord Winston Frost would undoubtedly try to use Emma's power to advance his own position, and the same could be said of her older sister, Lady Adrienne Frost. Or Adrienne would attempt to dispose of Emma and charm her way into Scott's graces. In any case, Emma knew that Adrienne had no chance. Scott was too hung up on Jean to consider another woman, and besides, Adrienne wasn't a telepath.

Emma shook her head slightly. She had surprised herself just by thinking of her family; they had not bothered her for years now. She hadn't spoken to a single one of them since she ran off to make her own way in the world. Emma supposed that her mind had gone to her family because there would be many, many lords and ladies of great and lesser importance attending the tourney. Would Lord Winston decide to do the same? Emma guessed not. Her older brother and Lord Winston's only child who would be eligible to compete in the tourney, Sir Christian Frost, was a disgrace in her father's eyes. He was drunk more often than not, but Emma had been quite fond of him when he was sober. In fact, it was he who had remarked that white was her color. And indeed, it was.

Emma's gaze flitted around the tourney grounds of the Cross Realm Games. Brightly colored banners fluttered in the wind as people rushed to and fro, finalizing preparations for the tourney. Emma stifled another yawn. It would be a long day.

Lady Jean Grey

Location: Cross-Realm King's Tournament.
Interacting With: Wade Wilson.

The crackling of the hearth… the smell of burning parchment… Opening her eyes slowly, it was all she could remember of the past few days as she leant herself back in the saddle, her head dropping back and her long fiery red locks brushing lightly over her back as she lifted her gaze up, her dark eyes fixed on the sky above for what seemed like a lifetime- why was she doing this again..? She didn’t want to be here… Time honored tradition or not; she didn’t want to see him… she couldn’t see him…

It was too soon… and it hurt too much… at least for her anyway.

After all this time- all the heartache he had put her through; and suddenly a messenger appears before her throne. Offering peace, trade- whatever he could to keep her interested, and whatever he could to get her to accept the invitation upon his master’s request. She had been do close… so damn close to just declining the offer, and sending him back to his master’s house with the bad news; but the voice of reason in her ear coming from her long time friend, and trusted adviser had allowed the messenger to leave and return to House M with nothing more than the acceptance that she would hear him out… even when it was the last thing she wanted to do.

“Nawwe… why the long face, Jeanie..?”

Leaning over in the saddle almost completely so that his head was resting against her thigh, Wade couldn’t help but smile, his goofy (and rather over the top) grin causing the Queen to look down at him with a mixture of both amusement and annoyance flickering over her features, “Ooo, ooo..! Don’t tell me..! I know this one- you are still pissed that Strange didn’t let you shoot the messenger. Am I right..?”

How could one person be so infuriating..? Unable to help the way that her eyes rolled at his words, Jean roughly pushed against his head, forcing it off her leg before she pulled on the reigns, leading her steed to the side slightly so that there was more room between her and her faithful (though ever the annoyance) knight, “Do not test my patience today, Wade… I am in no mood.”

“..but Jeeeeeeeeean…”

“..we both know Vincent advised me as well as he could- he was against my severing ties with House M in the first place… I owe it to him to at least hear what they have to say…” Tearing her gaze away from him, she let it wander out over the scenery around her, the sight of tents and the sound of others talking and making merry catching her ear, causing her to turn her attention over in the direction they were moving in, “..I just-… I just do not particularly wish to see Scott…”

Noir P. Parker

Interacting with: A random group of lords and ladies.

The Cross-Realm King's Tournament was looking this time even more impressive than the last, at least to him. Noir moved closer towards a group of lords he recognized. Politely asking them about the news of their children. Listening to the newest rumors that was whispered.

"...I have been well, my sister married..." One lady proudly declared.

"Lucky her, I am still waiting for that one..." The other lady answered.

"...I am more interested about the new king of Summer Isles. Heard he was a impressive ruler." One of the older lords spoke, sounding quite curious himself.

"I think I saw their ship dock. We surely going to make an appearance..." A younger man added.

Quite a few ladies were wondering about who from the kings and queens will attend. As Noir would ever so often steer the conversation with a question or comment. He was being asked about the attendance of the king of spider house, he avoided the question. Truth to be spoken, he himself wasnt sure if the king and queen will make it, he knew they had to deal with something before they could come. What this something was he didnt know. But the letter in his inner pocket was allowing him to be a representative of the house of spider if they do not make it. For now he hung on the letter and waited to see if they will maybe still arrive. He continued to steer the conversation hearing more about king Summers and his queen.

He sighed, the reason he came this time was the weight of the letter in his pocket. He would have prefered to relaxs as he himself had to deal with a serial killer just a few nights ago. Catching the right guy and not the man set up to take the blame was not easy, and then dropping him off in the dungeons, Noir felt a bit relived. Knowing he made the streets a bit safer. The city never knowing spiderman being the saviour. It was how he liked it. He didnt want anything but to fall in his bed after that night and sleep the day away, when he noticed the two letters from the king on his table.

How ever alluring sleep was he opened the letter addressed to him, and read it. Before the sun rise Noir was in his carriage and on the way to the tournament, dressed appropriately. Now he was here, after the not a short trip, his tiredness masked by a friendly smile, and watchful eyes behind his glasses.

He wore his red and brown clothing with black spider motives around the edges of the sleeves, and a web muster spreading around his collar. His pair of wire glasses resting on his face. His hair slightly misbehaving, but he long ago gave up the fight with it and the emblem of his house on his ring, he wore on his left hand. His mind quite wandering just as were his eyes.

There were quite the turbulent times, the affairs of the kingdoms of marvel were more noticeable than in the past. Which would mean either something big was about to happen or which he hoped rather a new balance and with it a delicate form of peace will continue. Either way the feeling in his stomach, told him he will soon find out.

Today was a special day for Thor, for it was the annual tournament. What Thor liked about this day that he declared it “special” was it would be a day of drinking and fighting. If anyone knew Thor on a personal level a good drink and fight were two activities, he couldn’t get enough of. Also he could show off his fighting abilities to his people with the great hammer “Mjolnir” which he sometimes would do in past events whenever he participated. The king wanted to be early to this event, for a fighter should never be late to a fight, and by the seven Thor would fight today. On his way he rode no fancy chariot, carriage or anything to hide himself. The king instead showed his face with pride, riding his mighty white horse that he normally rode into battle. The king can be a show off but he has a reputation that he must keep thus acting in this matter.

Thor was heavily guarded at the event since there was be a downside to this “special” day. He would likely have to deal with the problems between the houses and all the trouble the kings have been starting. But this was nothing compared to the attacks on The Summer Isles, with most of the royal family massacred leaving only one member left. This man's house was planning to come to Marvelos for this event, since he was the new king. This new king came with other men with their ebony colored ships to his shores. Thor was eager to meet this new king and speak to him, as he saw this meeting a far more important matter due to Summer Isles a vital land for resources in order for Marvelos to defend themselves.

There were so many rumors of who was held accountable, he didn’t know what to believe whether it was assassin's other threats responsible for this horrible attack. The worst rumor he could feel in his gut being true House Hydra responsible in the attacks. Thor would find the house or individual responsible and bring them to justice for The Summer Isles and it’s king. Thor was heavily guarded after the massacre occurred, Thor could possibly defeat anyone who would attempt to take his life without guardsmen but the royal council took no chances of Thor endangering himself. But today Thor would try not to dwell on this so much, it was his event thus he should at least try to enjoy himself for today.
