Name: KoRe | Stein | Kra(Ne)
Age: 1 | 83 | 326
Race: Gear-Youkai Hybrid
Appearance
KoRe
Stein
Kra(Ne)
Personality: KoRe is easily comparable to an adolescent child seeking to give himself an image. He has no idea who he was, who he knew, what he did, or who he may have loved, and his entire world revolves around finding out. He is also influenced heavily by Stein and Kra(Ne), who both act like voices in the back of KoRe's head, except they are - literally. Stein is often the voice of reason and caution whereas Kra(Ne) is often representative of passion, impulse and desire, be them of wrath or lust. KoRe has been forced to constantly listen to and battle these voices in his search for himself as well as learn who they are and realize that they are, too, in fact people.
Stein is a very conservative man that prefers to wait and watch. Although he is no master tactician, he is incredibly intelligent. He has had few friends and may arguably have impaired social skills due to it, but those who knew him would call him a perpetually deep man. If a war could be won merely by watching, Stein would watch not to win, but to learn. Stein is capable of supercomputing massive amounts of information and is exceptionally good at science regarding physics, but rarely utilizing his computing capabilities for other purposes. In that sense, Stein mostly seeks to understand what it truly means to live life as a synthetic being. He seeks purpose, and prefers to do so in solitude.
Kra(Ne) is a very impulsive and passion man with no real inhibitions. He has no true moral code, but at times can be impressed by feats of hardship, adherence to belief or adveristy. Kra(Ne) is incredibly egocentric in that the few he cares about are because they either remind him of himself or offer some type of benefit. Kra(Ne) is not above the sins of the flesh, and has alluded to fathering many children within the Backyard. The only similarity between Kra(Ne) and his counterpart Stein is their solitary paths, although they travel different roads. While Stein prefers to be alone entirely, Kra(Ne) simply prefers to use people like resources he can toss aside.
History: KoRe is not just his history, but the history of Stein and Kra(Ne) respectively as well. KoRe can only remember his past up to a year before becoming the entity most well-known as KoRe, although he truly is a merger of himself, Stein and Kra(Ne) with the ability to give control to either and take upon an entirely new set of abilities if he does. As such, KoRe, whom remains in control of himself unless he actively defers control to either Stein or Kra(Ne), is in search of who he was, who he is, and anyone he may have known before becoming part of his new being. With that said, KoRe has very little known history aside from months of confusion, learning to control his abilities within the isolated wilderness and learning who his peers were.
SteinStein was the result of Project Galileo, which was an effort by the P.W.A.B. to create a humanoid Gear devoid of animalistic traits while retaining the benefits of having its genetic structure pushed beyond regular limitations and evolution. Stein is, as all Gears are, a merge of magic and psuedo-science, and was only considered a partial success. The first years of his life were spent as a test subject with his powers inhibited by a colar as well as his insticts dulled, however that would not be his ultimate fate.
Once Stein was nolonger considered beneficial for study as other results of Project Galileo had been dubbed "more successful" were considered far more effective resources for research. Thus, Stein was deemed to be terminated. It was upon the flooding of noxious gas into his chamber that Stein actived his inherent abilities and allowed his instict to kick in. Stein disrupted his inhibitor collar, then broke free of an entire P.W.A.B. facility while also releasing other Gear subjects and stealing several items they were working on.
Stein then spent several years on the run, eventually handing out his stolen items and only keeping one as it amplified his own abilities greatly. Stein faded into history as the P.W.A.B. attempted to cover up their tracks, as to remain an enigma, and Stein took to hiding out in the most remote of locations, merely trying to make sense of life as a synthetic being.
Kra(Ne)Kra(Ne) was a Youkai warrior outcast within the Backyard, tossed aside by his clan for his aggressive tendencies. Whereas most of his people used their abilities, which revolve aruond emitting bright lights and distracting opponents as to swarm them, Kra(Ne) used his alone to amplify himself and fight at dazzling speeds. He even went as far as to procure a sword of great value, causing great distress for his Youkai Clan politically, and refused to give it back as it increased his personal capabilities tenfold.
Like insects, his clan swarmed him, being told to kill him to prevent uncessary combat. Kra(Ne), knowing and hating their tactics unlike any other, slaughter a majority of his own kind and fled, leaving behind his weakened clan and his name as a thief. Decades passed and he was presented an opportunity to flee into a new world, outside of persecution, and he did. When Ky and Sol returned from the Backyard, so did he.
It is from this point on that niether Kra(Ne), Stein or KoRe understand what happened. Stein can recall his flight from the P.W.A.B. and even living where the three had awoken. Kra(Ne), reluctant at first, eventually admitted he remembered only passing through to this world. KoRe remembered nothing. KoRe, somewhat forcefully, set out to find out who he was after learning of his new abilities and taking what he wanted from the pile of clothes and items left by what he assumed were the others. With the help of a craftsman, he even managed to create a weapon stronger than either of theirs before, and set out on his path to find out who he was, and who is he, regarduless of the desires of Kra(Ne) and Stein.
With that thought in mind, it was only reasonable for KoRe to set out and accept the challenge of Issun, hoping that he would find someone who knew more about his past.
Weapon(s): The
Neocore Katana is the sword used by KoRe, Stein and Kra(Ne) respectively, and is a weapon forged from the staff used by Stein and the sword used by Kra(Ne) prior to their merge. The sword has a hilt made from the shaft of the aforementioned staff with a butt containing a single, black gem that could channel the magic of whoever used the item in a sphere around them. The blade of the sword is made of a metal forged in the Backyard that amplifies the magic of its user when channeled. Although the limitations of the Neocore Katana is presently unknown, its most obvious and present abilities are well-known and utilitized by its trio of owners. It can project the magic of its user in the area around it spherically as well as amplify whatever is channeled through it. It cannot generate magic on its own, and only acts as a conduit, however its potential as a conduit is completely unknown.
The
Battle Bracer Model VC200 was once a premier weapon used by many assassins, and doubled as a highly-durable and very versatile device. In addition to the razor sharp claws it can protrude, it can also generate a magical barrier that can deflect moderate blows and is capable of withstanding a weight of several metric tons. This bracer model was in fact mass produced, but never made mainstream markets due to its relatively low array of combat applications and its hinderance when holding other weapons.
Abilities/Powers: KoRe himself is a relatively limited fighter in the sense he has little experience, however, with the Neocore Katana, experience is not precisely something he needs. KoRe has access to a series of powerful abilities that carry over to Stein and Kra(Ne) whom also can use the abilities, in addition to their own. KoRe believes that with time and training, he can learn more abilities.
Core AbilitiesNeocore K-Assault Any member of the trio can use this ability to channel their magical properties into the Neocore Katana and thus create a sphere around them for it. Each member of the trio results in a different result: KoRe can use this ability to increase his speed and redirect kinetic energy within the sphere; Stein can use this ability to perceive different wavelengths of light as well as better manipulate the are around him; and, Kra(Ne) is granted a large agility increase as well as the ability to create bright, neon after images everywhere he dashes too, which is normally at a high speed.
Neocore Cannon Any member of the trio can use this ability to channel their magical properties into a projectile to be used through a slash of the Neocore Katana. Each member of the trio results in a different result: KoRe can create a slash filled with powerful kinetic energy; Stein can create a slash which vibrates at wavelengths that is more dangerous for its disintegration than its slice; and, Kra(Ne) is capable of using the ability repeatedly to fire several increasingly-quick neon-colored slashes.
KoRe AbilitiesKinetic KoRe is an ability used exclusively by KoRe and allows him to absorb or increase the kinetic energy of a material within his Neocore K-Assault Zone -OR- in line-of-site. This includes projectiles and even blows from a target. This ability can be used in very refined and precise ways to weaken an oncoming attack at melee range or absorb possibly lethal force from concussive blasts or explosions to lessen the damage done to himself or others. More notably, KoRe can use this ability to 'redirect' that kinetic energy as he sees fit, but cannot store it for long or in large bulk.
Stein AbilitiesZone of Perception is an ability used exclusively by Stein that allows him to perceive - in great detail - everything around him. Stein does this in two ways; his eyesight and a secondary sense of the entire area around him that is even stronger within his Neocore K-Assault. Stein can change his field of vision to almost any range in the known light spectrum and can even see magic, however, he cannot see all light at once and he cannot see light and magic simultaneously, thus forcing him to choose. His secondary sight is far more broad in terms of what it can see, but far less refined in how it does. Stein can detect changes in molecular structure and movement around him, and actions appear "slowed" to him while in his zone. However, unlike his line-of-sight ability, Stein cannot see different types of vision; he can only see the changes in mollecules and movement.
Wavelength Disruption is an ability used exclusively by Stein that allows him to blast waves of energy as a magical pulse that can disrupt both physical and magical capabilities. This ability can completely throw off even fundamental forces, such as electromagnetism and gravity while at the same time confuddling even experts with magic by changing the way that magic responds to them.
Wavelength Destruction is an abiltiy used exclusively by Stein that allows him to blast waves of high-frequency energy very similar to wavelength disruption, however this time charged with his magical element solely for the sake of offense. These blasts can cause concussive damage and explosions as well as travel at impressive speeds.
Kra(Ne) AbilitiesNeon Assault Charge is an ability used exclusively by Kra(Ne) that allows him to hypercharge his body with his own magical abilities, resulting in him literally glowing a bright and almost unseeable color. Alone, the blinding light caused by Kra(Ne) doing this is enough to distract most enemies, but his increased speed (increased even higher if used within his Neocore K-Assault) and possible after images make this ability a force to be reckoned with.
Neon Carver is an abiluty used exclusively by Kra(Ne) that makes use of the Battle Bracer if possible. This ability creates bright, shining claws on Kra(Ne)'s hands (that are even larger on a hand with the Battle Bracer or any mounted weapon) that are capable of cutting through materials that even the Neocore Katana cannot. These claws additionally leave a bright, shining trail behind them that at first seems to be a simple trail of annoying, neon light that Kra(Ne) characteristically creates, however, they can also be manipulated actively and used as high-tensil cables by Kra(Ne) for sneak attacks or defense.
