Name: Roy Youngblood
Age: 36
Race: Human
Appearance: Theme Song: The Light I Shine on You - KamelotPersonality: Roy stands out to be a calm and collected character alongside with being lighthearted. He has a tendency to make light of a situation, acts pretty chill even at the face of a grim situation, and often likes to crack out jokes. He has a keen sense wisdom, and can emphasize with others despite not having experience every single possible scenarios, though is doubtful to be taken serious with how he normally is. At the worst, he is adamant and hardheaded, once he puts his motives in front, it's hard for him to give up or otherwise be convinced out of, and is quite brash into decisions without considering the consequences. He will admit to his brashness, but he stands firm with confidence and believes for the success even the chances are slim to none.
History: There has been very little recollection of Roy's childhood life although it hasn't been very significant to begin with. He however, had a sense of curiosity of the world as a child, bringing him liking to learn about the world. One thing in particular was the extraordinary events that happened roughly two centuries ago; the world versus the Backyard Resident, Ramletherl Valentine. The events was a key inspiration for Roy to becoming a fighter. When he and his family move to A Country, he encounter a strange person, yet a strong one who goes by the name of Gecko. Gecko himself was a fighter who was on a blacklist for an accused crime, and was often a target to kill, but Roy eagerly went to learn how to fight from this man. Having seen his admiration, Gecko agreed to teach Roy how to fight, passing down his knowledge of swordplay and a little bit of dark magic as well as some philosophies and basic skills like math, reading, writing, and cooking.
Roy's training was rough and Gecko wasn't easy on him to begin with, but his perseverance was keeping him from falling. At the age of sixteen, six years after meeting Gecko, he was involved with an assassination attempt on Gecko which was the last one attempted on Gecko. Roy fought to his last possible breath to defend Gecko from the assassins, but ended up getting cut up near the gut. He passed out the moment he saw Gecko get killed. The assassins left with their mission completed and thought Roy to be dead, but a doctor had arrived in time to find the unconscious Roy still alive. Now stitched up and recovered thanks to the doctor, Roy returns to Gecko's place, finding a written letter addressed to him, encouraging him to follow his beliefs and strive to the future.
From that point on, he worked as a mercenary, honoring Gecko as his mentor and fulfilling his wish without remorse or acting on impulse to avenge Gecko. Wandering around the world for a couple of decades, being hired as a mercenary although has a reputation to be a goody two shoes type which gave him trouble with quite a bit of people. Now though, he is currently unemployed until the news of a destroyer appeared before the world, proclaiming the end of mankind. With his mind set, Roy travels to the U.K. to confront this danger, following his inspiration that came from two centuries ago.
Weapon(s): Vorpal Sword - A long sword tailored to meet Roy's style and likes, one of his treasures he keeps dear. Unlike a traditional long sword, it has two blades instead of one, splitting down the center where the fuller is lacking. The hilt is in a golden color with the grip wrapped in leather and the blades a dark grey color. The sword is found to be quite durable even with the lacking of a fuller, very sharp in its cutting power, and is often used in tandem with his dark magic.
Abilities/Powers: Absent Now, Tardy Later - Roy has an innate ability to teleport into thin air, leaving a black after image in his place. He can reappear at any point within a radius of several feet from his original position. The drawback to this ability is that there is a lag delay in between teleportation of roughly ten seconds before reappearing, and another couple of seconds to materialize before being able to move, and he cannot warp through walls or buildings.
Lights are Down - Roy uses his weapon to slash through the air, creating a black wave projectile that moves fairly fast for a couple of meters in the direction he slashed. The properties of this ability is unique, as it expresses total darkness when looking at it when swallowed by it. Can also be used as a wall to ward against other projectiles, but isn't the best wall in the world.
Black Ego - Much like the after image in Absent Now, Roy creates one besides him. This time, however, is like a sentient being on its own, working side by side with Roy. The after image is weaker in abilities and combat in comparison to Roy, but more than capable to holding someone down while he strikes. It is only capable of lasting about five minutes at most, disappearing, though it is not capable of taking on most hits before vanishing as well.
Blackout - Roy points his sword up as several runic glyph lights up in a purple hue through the space between the blades. A few moments passes by before a large magic seal forms above him. After completing the seal, he moves his sword downwards to the ground, the seal following along with the tip. Planting his sword to the ground, the seal is complete and a black sphere forms around him. It then expands to several meters, covering everything within it in total darkness. Only him and those and has senses to see in total darkness can see everything as normal, though Roy's eyes glows a purple color. Within the sphere, he has free reign to do what he wishes, before the sphere collapses within thirty seconds.
