Btw, Ranger type bow + duel wielding swords Guardian. A try hard who believes that truly dangerous monsters could appear at any time and spends his spare time preparing for it. As a side affect most of the other Guardians are more popular than him, excepting the people who think they are actually in danger. Would something like this be okay?

@ZardoricThat sounds great actually! It'd be wonderful to have a character who is prepared for monsters. _{of course there's no way there'll be any monsters, heh heh heh.} Because of that he might be more peceptive to some things then other characters ;D

and I think dimishing the popularity at the start is a fair trade off for that as well :D he'd probably have a smaller but more dedicated audience, perhaps?

@Mae That's what I was thinking. The people that actually believe that the monsters are dangerous or that the dangerous ones will comeback support him, while others dislike him either because they think he is crazy or they fear he is right. This reputation could also be used by some of the girls for scandals and the like (to increase their own popularity of course) which he allows because it allows him to stay on the front lines that much easier, although his dedicated fan base is just enough to keep his position as a guardian at the school, if barely.

You mentioned character death. Is this more like a game in which everyone is pitched against each other trying to knock out other players? Or is it more about telling an interesting story where the death of some characters are required to maintain the theme. Basically, if I make a character, will they die if I make a bad dice roll, regardless of how "important" they are? Or are dice rolls mainly in place to resolve disputes, like if person X is stronger than Y?

Question, I've been thinking around with my character. I was thinking of a guardian who is already part of a famous family of guardians giving him quite a boost in popularity when he was just starting out. But he isn't as much as an attention-seeker than his family and just does his job. Maybe have a mysterious aura around him? Of course, his popularity will go down but maybe he has a maintainable fanbase who likes seeing what he'll do next.

I was also thinking that he would partner up with a magical girl since one of his ancestors was believed to have entered a holy contract with one and he's curious on what would happen if he creates a holy contract with one. Of course, they'll just start off as mere partners.

@BrokenPromiseIn terms of death, dice rolls will work thusly:

+ A percentage chance of death is determined by the situation (cannot die eating breakfast, low chance of death in a safe scenario)

So for example, 1 in 20 if you're fighting a standard battle (5%), 1 in 5 if you're fighting an army, wounded and alone, 1 in 100 if you're hanging out in town.

The system is found here and created by the lovely Lady Amalthea.

However the system can also work in favour of the characters - you could just so happen to receive a mortal wound and then the dice roll you making a recovery.

Players won't be fighting against each other (as far as I planned for, anyway. If y'all want to fight to the death that's your buisness xD) they'll be mostly fighting against monsters and the environment. As I imagine it characters might have small battles or even stage battles for popularity, but I seriously doubt anyone plans on having an all out death battle royale.

If it helps, people will be able to assign priorities to traits (HP, Attack, Magic, Mental Defense, Fame, Money and Social ect. Still working on the system) so you'll be able to customise it alot.

Well once the OOC is up and I see the system a bit more I can figure out a bit more about my character. Right now I know I want him to use a normal glaive and a throwing glaive as weapons. And when he's using the normal glaive he often uses it to polevault over monsters for style

Alright, so I'm not sure what the rest of the stat system is for then. Are they just modifiers for the dice rolls?
