As for whether Nico cares all that much about what Mikhail does given that Nico defied his own hatred of Donovan to do this, I'll let you know soon.

Ah, this part:

Mikhail's voice lost its bite, due to the fact that he was unable to muster much passion in the unnatural calm given by Donovan and amplified by Nico. And because Mikhail's voice lost its bite, he wasn't able to stop Donovan from shouting to the rest of the class to calm down - then again, that part was agreeable. Then came something that, without passion to blind him, was actually a sound proposition from the bullying redhead.

Donovan’s rune was almost blinding now, illuminating both their faces to display the steel and excitement in Donovan’s cocky grin. He wasn't sure why Nico chose to buff Donovan of all people, but he didn't care either.

“We stay together now. It’s our best chance to show that Varus prick what we can do.”

Beside him, Fancy Smoke got jumped by Panther Girl. He ignored them and walk past, expecting Nico to follow him. Thanks to his shining rune and the flaring lights of Nico’s sigils, he easily found his way through the dark fog. With this energy, he felt unstoppable. His aura touched pretty much everyone and he could feel its gradual effects already taking its hold on people.

Nico and Donovan's runes/sigils were glowing bright enough to illuminate their way through the fog. I think that's enough IC evidence for both Nico having a connection (not necessarily amplification) to Donovan's magic and the aura of calm being sourced from Donovan.

Just because a rune glows does not mean Mikhail can immediately know with 100% certainty that this guy is the cause.

I don't recall Donovan standing there and explaining to anyone how his ability works. How is Mikhail sure it isn't some random person elsewhere causing it and Don's rune isn't something entirely different? How does Mikhail know Donovan isn't just a giant flashlight?

Edit: Alternatively, how is Mikhail sure it's Don emitting the aura and not Nico since both simply use glowing sigils to indicate effect?

Anyway, I said I'm trusting @Scio's call on that.
