"(giggling) Okay then," Cecilia replied merrily, feeling more at ease. "I appreciate that, but I get the feeling that if we're on the same boat, it's possible that if I fall into the water, I might just tip the canoe over and make you fall in too," she noted playfully. "I'd never do it on purpose of course, so if it happens just know it'd be on accident." She was sincere in saying that she wouldn't do it on purpose, and although she didn't seem too serious about it, she kinda hoped James wouldn't think she'd do something like that to him, no matter how potentially funny it'd be. She was curious about Neric's past, but she knew it could be a sensitive topic. The Void seemed to be comfortable around her, and she didn't want to do anything to cause him distress.

@Vampy "ok" max said happily looking at Valencia as he thought 'wait I've never been canoeing before. I hope it's fun'. "i hope you don't mind that I've never been though" max said looking back at the fire. Max always thought fire was interesting because he could never draw it right.

"Well if you did, it would be funny. Though that would mean I have a nice girl to save." *Him chuckling a bit at his words, not trying to go all out of anything. Just a friendly thing, though she can take this a different way. He did admit she was rather pretty, but he ain't going to make any moves so soon. Scooting a bit closer as he whispers back to her, trying to make it a joking manner in his voice* "Though I have no idea if you can swim, maybe I'll dunk you in just to be safe. Naw I'm joking, I don't want anything bad happening to you." *James chuckled at the end, though gave her a smile when it came to the bad happening. True he didn't want anyone getting hurt, especially Cecilia. Not only does he not want her hurt, seems Neric grew on her a bit. Even James was surprised, but fate can make anything happen really*

"Hmm?" Cecilia's cheeks reddened marginally. For some reason, James saying he didn't want anything bad to happen to her made her feel really happy in an odd way. "I-I can swim, but I'll be careful," she said in a bit of a whisper also, fully mindful of how close he was to her. She didn't dislike it. In fact, she thought James looked rather cute, especially in times like this. She tended to casually break eye contact now and again, not wanting to catch herself staring like earlier that day. "Though I have to admit, I feel safer knowing you're with me, James," she said warmly, looking at the fire and then at him. She had no reference to know whether what she just said was odd or meant far more than even she may have intended. She just knew it was the truth and now felt like an appropriate time to say it.

*James would look away occassionally, not wanting to be staring at her or such either. Though his cheeks would get slightly red at her words, did she feel safer with him? Or was it in just a friend way? Regardless he took it as a compliment, though it warmed his heart. Giving her a bit more space though, thinking he was getting too close as he spoke* "I think we'll have fun with this, both get to learn how to canoe together." *He would smile at her for a moment, though he would enjoy her company. But he didn't know if it was the appropriate time for that or not. But he was looking forward to spending time with her*

"I think so too," she agreed as she noticed him moving away from her slightly. She meant what she said, even though she didn't want to rely on James so much that she'd be helpless without him. Still, she hoped James wouldn't think she was weird for telling him so. She wondered if now might not have really been the time to say it and that was why he gave her space. He didn't seem that put off however. At the time, she meant it in a more friendly end of the spectrum. But as she took a moment to think about it more, she smiled shyly towards the fire pit. She supposed there was more to it than that, more than she was ready to say currently. Right now though, she just hoped to not embarrass herself while canoeing. To that end, she considered that it might be best to be positioned behind James for the activity, lest she possibly end up accidentally paddling water at him if he was behind her.

Everyone got a bit excited about the activity. Valencia smiled and her blush started to disappear a little. She looked back at Max as he began to speak to her. "Then you're not alone." she said with a smile. Valencia has not done anything like canoeing before. All that she could remember was that she went on a hiking vacations with her parents but that was it. "Have you been in a boat before? I mean that you have to paddle." she asked him. While thinking about it, it sounded like a silly question but it didn't really matter to her. She wants to get to know him better.

@Vampy "one that I have to paddle" Max said trying to remember if he had. "no I can't say I have. What about you"max asked wondering why she asked.

Helena jokingly slashed her hand over the fire as he had, but she moved her hand away so to not get burned. Edmond somewhat smirked as he said, "Cute, but not impressive Hele." Edmond chuckled as he relaxed a bit as he played with the fire again. She then said that the activity did, in fact, involve water. But she offered to help him. He rarely had anyone help him in any way because everyone he has met thought he is without worry or fear. He smiled up at Helena slowly, with a sweat drop. "Well, thanks." Edmond then patted the seat next to him for Helena. He turned his attention back to the fire as he brought a little of the fire of the logs. he swirled it around in his hand and made it look like a little tree.

"No problem," Helena said, gratefully taking the seat beside him. She watched the fire dance around his hand and form shapes, absolutely memorized by its captivating beauty. "Okay, that one I can't do," Helena admitted, leaning back. She watched Edmond's hand with the fire, then soon began to watch the reflection of the fire in his eyes. He seemed to be so calm and at ease with the fire.

*James looked to the fire for a while, deep in thought as Neric slowly curled up between him and Cecilia. At first him not noticing till the tail bumped against him and her. Looking over at the cat as he chuckles softly, gently petting his back as he looks back at Cecilia for a moment. She admitted she felt safer around him, but he didn't say anything about it. Looking back at Neric before speaking on her words from before* "Well, you're safe with us. You have my word." *James smiling softly as he keeps his sight on Neric, a bit embarassed but he had to assure her that she was safe with them. Or at least he would try and keep her safe, but he couldn't leave out Neric in that*

"Well, I've never been on a small boat before. I have only been on those big ships that you get on to cross the ocean." Valencia told to explain it a little. She looks at Max and smiled. "And I asked to get to know you better." She said it straight forward. Valencia looked forward to the activity. *This is going to be fun.* she said to her self.

@Vampy "ok well can't wait" max said looking forward to this. He loves water. 'i wonder where we will go once we start' he wonder as he waited for the counselors to speak

Edmond chuckled as Helen sat down and spoke. "Well your trick wasn't that bad." Edmond then continued to make shapes in his hand. He would sometimes do this when he was bored, but he really did feel calm around its flames. He then caught Helena looking at his hands as he made shapes. She then looked into his eyes which sent fire upon his ears. He stopped the fire in his hands for a minute and patted down hs ears then looked at Helena. "Well that was strange." He chuckled. When she looked at him he somewhat flushed but why did his ears set on fire? He then faced Helena with a smile as he holds out both hands that were on fire. "So what do you want me to make?" His legs lightly touched hers as he held out his hands.

Cecilia noticed Neric once his tail brushed against her also, seeing the dark shrouded cat resting in between her and James, who chuckled and began petting him with a quick glance at her. She was caught off guard, but enjoyed seeing Neric nonetheless, smiling at James and joining in by lightly scratching the Void's neck and chin. "Right, I could never forget about Neric. Thanks you two," she said gently to the two of them, glad that Neric didn't seem to be treating her differently because of the incident and that he had appeared to be at least with them and not secluding himself like she noticed during lunch. "You ready for a little canoeing Neric?" she playfully asked, still in a gentle tone.

*James would smile at her as he looked down to Neric, the little Vid looking up at her as he speaks* "Oh I won't be canoeing with you, maybe swimming next to the canoe you two will be using. Though if you need pointers you can ask me or the counselors, it's part of their job to help but I'm there if they are unavailable." *He nods as he gets slight, trying to get a better curled up position between them. Laying his head down as he speaks up once again to Cecilia* "Have you done anything before with water perchance Cecilia?"

Helena enjoyed watching the fire dance across Edmond's eyes. Red eyes and an orange fire created an interesting mix. When their eyes met and Edmond's ears caught on fire, Helena was surprised and she backed up a bit, not wanting to be burned. When he patted the fire out, Helena shook her head and chuckled, "Isn't the bonfire enough fire?" At his proposition on making things out of fire, Helena suggested, "Hmm... How about a tree?"

"Right, okay then, if you're sure you wouldn't want to be on the canoe with us," Cecilia said. She knew the actual paddling would be done by James and herself, but thought Neric would be on the boat with them at least. "Hmm, I've been on a few passenger boats and ferries. I've also swum in a some public pools, but nothing like a lake before," she answered pleasantly, petting the back of his neck and head since his head was down. "How about you Neric? I take it you're a pretty good swimmer yourself, huh?" she asked in turn.

"Well someone has to pull you both out of the water, I did it before with soldiers when they were in their boats. But really if you want me to tag along I can." *Neric looking up at her, as he blinks. He wanted to more or less let them have some fun together, if she wanted him to come along she could. Though it would be fun what he would do to some of the other campers, especially Edmond and Helena over there. His tail swaying for a moment, see how they react to a fin sticking out of the water near their boat. Though he may not, hearing Edmond's reaction to being asked about water. He may hold off on that and scare James and Cecilia a bit, he'll think on it as he looks back at the fire and snuggles into the both of them. Speaking softly* "Though I thought you both wanted some alone time together in the canoe, why I was suggesting I swim alongside."

Soldiers?... she thought, now even more curious about Neric's past, to the point of not minding how little he thought of their chances of staying afloat. However, she wasn't feeling nosy enough to inquire further, especially where military-related matters were concerned. She observed the dark being for a moment, wondering what he was thinking. If she didn't know any better, she'd almost say he was plotting something. It was then that she heard him say he intended to let the two of them alone in the canoe. "Oh, w-well... if you really don't mind following alongside the entire way. Just know that if you ever want to rest, you're always welcome to ride on our canoe," she conceded, ultimately wanting Neric to decide what he'll do.
