RPGC #12: Growth! -- Voting and Discussion

Welcome back, everyone!

Well, that happened. Major props to our two entrants for getting something in. Lesson learned, no more abstract concepts *eyes #4* I feel like we learned this lesson already, though...

Anyway.

Cast your vote no later than the 8th of October, results to be posted when I wake up on the 9th. To vote, ping our @vote account. This is to separate the voting posts from the discussion posts. We will also go through ourselves so don't worry too much if you can't get the ping working.

Remember, vote by objective midnight on October 8th!

Wait, the deadline's today.

terrible as it may sound, i'm glad there's only two entries
(I may have spent the last week reviewing another contest with twenty-five entries. Glad to be back home, cuz that was hell.)

I expect to have my usual fare up in time tonightβ€”hopefully others will show up soon!

I very much liked both entries, but even considering the author in questionβ€”Un-American Activities was a real tour de force. As such, it gets my @vote.

Critiques at this point are mostly for the sake of formalities. Both entrant are above the level my aid is most useful.

>A+

>B

I wish there were more votes to go off ofβ€”it seems a bit unfair that my vote alone should determine the winner. But alas, such is the flow of seasons, not all as productive as the last. With only two entries to choose from, I am glad both were of high quality.

As the author of Dryads... I totally @vote for Un-American Activities. XD

I'll write a review with a little later. And maybe respond to Holmishire too. But, not right now.

And now, let me respond.

Firstly, to roughly anyone who want to know a bit about my entry... I intended to write a full, proper story with this basis that I wrote Dryads with. A full story with more characters, more developments, more established setting and more of such. But, as I got very busy during the days of the competition, I decided that I would simply spend an hour or two writing down the story I had as a short story that's pretty much simply the script the larger story would have. I still intentionally made it a readable story, that I'm actually pretty proud of, but yeah, it doesn't actually contain a single actual line and it's all from the perspective of a god looking at the world, you know what I mean. It wasn't really meant to compete for the votes, but I wanted the story I had in my mind not to go to waste. Haha.
