On the topic of saving content, for the few bits I don't keep in my mind (90% of what I got is completely stored in the noggin, a questionable location at times...) I back up across USB's, local HD, google drive, PM's here and a little cloud spot (the few times I hold trust for public clouds).
@NekoMizu Yeah, I understand it's not what you're doing anymore. Just pointing out how it would or wouldn't work.
@ArenaSnow Ah, as it turns out, we're quite similar in that sense. Though I have made a point that a huge amount of information is stored on USBs, it's worth keeping in mind that, much like yourself, I keep pretty much 90% of my work just stored in my mind. What most of my notes do is allow that information to be organized in a way which other people will be able to eventually understand, and it also contains countless "triggers" that allow me to make sense of the sheer amount of info I actually have. So while I do have a lot on USBs, if I ever, hypothetically, got amnesia, there's no way my story could be recovered using my notes, as it would definitely be completely lost with my memory. It's fairly appropriate, given how I constantly refer to this project as my soul and speak of it as though it's fundamentally a part of who I am.
@Shoryu Magami To be fair if you got amnesia there'd be no point in storing any info about the story since you'd forget about it completely. Which I'm sure that's what you meant.
@NekoMizu Yep, that's exactly my point. I'm mostly illustrating that, yes, I do have a massive amount of information stored over USB, but for all intents and purposes, without the information stored in my head those notes are worthless. I've coded my notepads in such a way that if I had amnesia, or if someone stole my USBs, they wouldn't be able to understand my work and steal it. Without those notes, it'll just be significantly harder for me to organize all the stuff in my head, which is why I really don't want to lose them.
@Shoryu Magami I mean with enough dedication, if they were determined enough to steal the information, they'd probably be determined enough to move everything in a way that makes sense.
@NekoMizu When I say I've "coded it", I mean it's using a bunch of trigger words and code that are all essentially just gibberish unless the person looking at the notes were me. It's not just jumbled or in some random language that can be deciphered. For all intents and purposes, I can just look at a single word trigger that seemingly has nothing to do with an idea, and it reminds me of a lot of information. Without my subjective thought process, those notes are just scrambles of random words.
