[IC] Pokémon Battle Frontier

"So, are you guys going to go after gym badges?" Liam asked.

[NekoMizu]

"We plan to, though travelling is our biggest concern." Koneko answered, Neko nodding. Inuzu once again just staring.

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Well, the nearest gym is in Viridian, but, it is highly advised that you have seven badges before going to it." Liam informed.

[NekoMizu]

"Then what gym do you suggest going to first?" Neko questioned.

[bowtiesrcool86]

"Pewter's gym." Liam said. "However, Charmander will be at a disadvantage there." He warned.

[NekoMizu]

"Hmph" Inuzu grunted. "Well then I'm skipping that suggestion and going my own way. See ya, Neko. Koneko." He walked away, pushing Liam aside.

"hahah... Sorry about him." Neko said uncomfortably. "He can be a bit rude, actually he's that way all the time from what I've seen. Well if you don't mind, I'm gonna go on my journey now, thanks for the advice, see you later." The two go off on their way toward Viridian city.

[James Davy]

"That guy bears a bit of a resemblance to someone we know," stated Shiranui.

"That he does." Liam said. "Do you think we should see if they want to travel with us?" Liam inquired.

[NekoMizu]

The twins making their way north into Route 1, end up running into a Pidgey. Neko takes out his pokedex, "A common sight in forests and woods. It flaps its wings at ground level to kick up blinding sand." He sends out his Bulbasaur. "Use Tackle!" he demanded. A direct hit.

The Pidgey flaps its wings, sending sand flying at Bulbasaur. Its accuracy is lowered. "All right another Tackle!" Bulbasaur misses the attack. The Pidgey takes the place of the attacker, using Tackle as well. "Try again!" Bulbasaur charges at Pidgey and hits.

Neko throws a pokeball at the wild Pidgey. Once. Twice. The pokeball opens back up. Aww! It appeared to be caught! The Pidgey flew away before Neko could get a chance to capture it. "Dang it" He said, bummed about his first chance at being able to catch a Pokemon being a failure. "Don't worry, you can always get the next, Neko." She assures him. "Well, not the next, that's mine." She laughs. They continue on their way through route 1.

"Well, should we head out?" Liam asked.

[James Davy]

"Indeed we should," answered Shiranui.

The heroes started off toward Pewter City, home to the first contest in this year's rotation. Along Route 1, the heroes would see the twins. They were having trouble catching a Pidgey. "Should we offer to show them how it's done?" Liam asked.

[James Davy]

"It's our duty to show them the ropes," Shiranui answered in the affirmative.

Liam approached the duo. "Do you want us to show you how to catch a Pokémon?"

[NekoMizu]

"Ah, uh yes." Neko replied to Liam, while bowing. "I would like that."

A Pidgey flew down and landed near them. "Alright, first off you need to weaken the Pokémon up." Liam explained. He tossed a ball into the air and Pikachu emerged. "Alright, Pikachu we're showing how to catch a Pokémon today, so ease up a little bit."
"Pika." Pikachu nodded in conformation.
"Now, Quick Attack!" Pikachu rocketed into the Pidgey and did fair damage. The Pidgey used Sand Attack.
"It is also helpful to cast a status condition, like this, Thunder Wave!" Pikachu gave the pidgey a paralyzing shock. The Pidgey was unable to move.
"Than you toss a Pokéball." Liam explained. "There are several kinds of Pokéballs, but more on that in a bit." Liam said. He tossed a Pokéball at the Pidgey. It was sucked in. The ball wiggled three times and pinged shut.
"And Bob's your uncle." Liam said. He walked over and released the Pidgey from the ball. He used a Full Restore on it and let it go free.

[NekoMizu]

"Status condition.." Neko thinks to himself. "That makes sense, but how?"

"Thanks for the advice" he said to Liam. "Well, I need to go to Viridian and get my Bulbasaur healed."

"Here." Liam said tossing over a Full Restore. "You might as well travel along with us. There is safety n numbers after all."

[James Davy]

"And we can help you out as well," added Shiranui, "Regarding status conditions, certain moves can inflict them and your Bulbasaur can learn two different powder moves that can paralyse and poison the target. Certain types are immune to certain status conditions and it's easy to tell which ones are immune to what. Take your Bulbasaur—being a Grass/Poison type, it cannot be poisoned under normal means and it is also immune to powder moves as well as the move Leech Seed."

"Besides, observing battles at Frontier Facilites could be very helpful." Liam added.
