I'd like to join if there is an opening. I have an idea for my character to be more on the side of the trolls you see when the main characters march on the Black Gate. (The one that attacked Strider.) But obviously I won't have much of anything, because I'm being taken by the caravan to be sold to people who need heavyweight lifters and/or a scary bodyguard to keep away bandits and orcs. If that's not an option then I have an idea for a human Bowman.
@Patient 43Delta I would go for the human bowman. I'm heavily against letting people play as a race under Sauron, Partially because this takes place 3010 and things are getting dangerous. So Orc, and such would be seen as something to kill and a huge threat. Leaving one alive to be used in labor or something, would be something no one would do.
For those that don't know, 3008 was Gandalf's last visit to Frodo, and then stuff starts going down. Gollum escapes from Mordor, Aragorn and Gandalf look for Gollum, Legolas, Arwen returning to Rivendell.

Equipment: A chain shirt hidden by a green tunic. His weapons are a curved blade and a longbow. He also has a large arsenal of knives, ranging from knives for skinning to knives for throwing.
Personality: Kaine is very antisocial, and tends to have a different opinion from everybody else. He is wise, and very intelligent.
Story: I want Kaine to begrudgingly join the party, and become the wise unattached member of the group. He should be the one who makes the decisions.
Biography: Kaine was born into a noble bloodline, the son of the late Laine of Arnor. He was trained to be a soldier from a young age, and joined the warriors of Arnor from the young age of 19. He stayed with the army of his people until his birthday of thirty-five years. From then on he lived as a nomad, working as a bodyguard or mercenary for pretty much anyone who payed. Though he became a mercenary, he kept a sense of good and never killed innocents.
@dwjonez Few little things to note. These are just comments to point out things that need fleshing out.
Appearance: Add clothes. It's what people see when they look at you, and we don't want to see a naked old man! Add in some detail as well. Is he heavy? Does he have a paunch, or is his thinner? Has his nose been broken? Does he have that slight squint old men sometimes get? Also, as it's very much what we can see, note the weapons we see. Don't just put those under Equipment.
Equipment: A curved blade? What is this? Is it ornate or worn? Is it scimitar? How did he get such a odd weapon? Does he not have a quiver of arrows to go with he bow? How many daggers does he have? Where are they on his person? What type of daggers are they? Is this chain shirt his only armor? Does he have provisions? Money? It's what you have on you to.
Personality (Suggestion): He's wise, what about? How intelligent is he? How does his opinion differ?
Story: I think you misunderstand. What do you want to your character/ what your character wants to do in the World of Arda (Middle Earth)? Not what you're role will be in the group. Do you want to see the Shire? Are you traveling to Gondor or Rohan? Are you seeking treasure?

Nobility? Sure, but why would you be traveling in Northern Eriador? Butt the bigger problem is the fact that Arnor fell thousands of years ago. To be of Arnor you'd be a Dunedain, and not of nobility. So there's no standing army, no real soldiering work. They are wanderers, rangers. They also travel in groups protecting what remains of them.
@Andreyich I forgot. Toss in what provisions, money, ect that Oid has on him in equipment.
@Daft Monarch Perhaps hunting Orcs? Or banished for a crime? Think up a reason and sure.

Story: Kaine has the objective of having one last exciting adventure before finally settling down permanently.
Biography: Kaine, son of Laine was one of two children of a middle-class family. He was born on the outskirts of Rohan His sister, Elana, died when he was fourteen, and she herself was eleven. He, from that point onwards, took up a more serious visage. He decided he would join the army, in hopes of avenging his sister, killed by the Wildmen of Duland. He worked in the Rohan army from the age of twenty to the age of thirty-five. Past his birthday of thirty-five, he left the army and lived as a nomad in the wilderness. He did this since he realized revenge was not the way to go. He kept no provisions or money, but he did keep his sense of good.
2: Gender, Age & Race: Male, 24, Human from Minas Tirith
3: Appearance & Personality: Amaron is tall and slender, almost frail. He lacks facial hair, and because of his appearance, he was rarely taken seriously by the others. His father judged him too frail to fight, and sent him to work among the women. Amaron did not appreciate this, so he spent most of his life sneaking out to train with his older brothers, who laughed at him at first. This made him even more determined and he trained night and day. He is much stronger than he looks, has some impressive skills with a sword and shield and is the only person in his family who can handle an elvish longbow. He has learnt to use his appearance and agility as an advantage, and it has been several years since any of his brothers could defeat him in combat. Amaron is the third of five children. Their mother died giving birth to his younger brother Gonnor, 14 years ago. Their heartbroken father never remarried, and the boys basically raised themselves. In general, Amaron keeps to himself. Whether he is shy or secretive will remain to be seen, but the fact that he does not make friends easily will soon be obvious.
4: Equipment: His family kicked him out with only the clothes on his back and the short sword he carries hidden on his person. When Faramir found out, he supplied the boy with a horse, a basic leather armour and a longbow with a quiver full of arrows. Amaron is skilled with a knife and has been making his own arrows to replace the ones he cannot retrieve. He is quite creative when it comes to creating arrow tips.
5: History: Born and raised in Minas Tirith, Amaron’s family knew all the stories about Sauron and his armies and made a point of telling them to their children and children’s children. He comes from a long line of soldiers and guards, and his family believes firmly in the city’s role of watchman,. Because of this, Amaron’s father considers training for the defence of Osgiliath and keeping an eye out for activity in Mordor a sacred duty. Amaron spent some time training under Faramir, who has taken a liking to the unlikely soldier. Unfortunately neither this affection nor his skill with weapons and horses could save him the humiliation of being kicked out of the army and the city, forever separated from his home, his army, his family. In a last, desperate attempt to contribute to the safety of Middle Earth, Amaron followed rumours of a band of Orcs tearing through the land. His hunt caused him to cross paths with the others and he has joined the caravan for the time being.
@Daft Monarch oh thank goodness. I may make a 6th spot for a elf, but thats it. And something i would rather not do, but i doubt any of you read/speak elvish.
@Dutchess Sarah cs needs to match the one i have available. Faramir's positiob in the matter is good. Also, why was he kicked out of army/family?
@LadyRunicI thought about going with an Elf, but... Hobbit seems like more fun. =P I'm even happy to play a female Hobbit, if that lends some more diversity to the RP. Looks like a sausage party at the moment. =P Though, that said, so was The Fellowship...

EDIT: Also, could this caravan possibly have stopped by Bree? I'm not too sure how to get a Hobbit into the big bad world to be on this caravan short of wanderlust as the caravan made it's way past the town. Or I suppose any mixed race town with Hobbits in it, but I only really know Bree.
Alright, here's my shot at a hobbit. Got longer than I planned, but meh.
Name: May Littlefoot
Age, Gender, Race: 33, Female, Hobbit
Appearance: Short, even by Hobbit standards, May stands at a proud 2 foot 11 & 3/4 inches, possessing a light, slight build that serves to make her seem even more diminutive. If not held back by her headband, long and furiously curly dirty blonde hair obscures a face with fine features, big hazel eyes and particularly long, pointed ears. She usually wears a pale yellow knee high skirt with brown leggings that reach the top of her calves, along with a loose longsleeved white tunic over which is worn a maroon buttoned up sleeveless vest. Unless it's a notably hot day it's rare to catch her without her thick, oversized dark green coat on too, worn open. The outfit is tied together with a worn yellow neck scarf. A thick tuft of curly blonde hair can be found atop little bare feet, as Hobbits will. Always being where she shouldn't tends to lend her an untidy appearance, with much of her clothing sporting a patch or two and her face often marred with dust or dirt.
Equipment: A small knife, a walking stick that reaches the top of her head, a simple but well-crafted quill, an over-sized yet fantastic dark brown leather hood and a large iron bracelet that serves as a perfectly sized headband for her, though she seldom wears it and prefers to have it dangling from her belt. Along with her jacket these are her prized possessions which she carries everywhere with her, given to her by travelers she has met over the years. A lot of this is carried in an old leather backpack that has been repaired and patched to within an inch of it's life. Additionally she owns a large book with many blank pages, a small array of lock picks, a simple sewing kit, whatever food and drink she grabbed that morning and spare clothes for emergency's.
Personality: May is an endearingly friendly, effervescent young hobbit who loves making friends and is quick to trust. Along with this comes a poor combination of starry-eyed naivety and abundant curiousity. She's candid, serious about making promises and genuinely enjoys helping people, particularly strangers and travellers, if only to find learn from them and hear more tales of the world, of elves, of evil, of treasure, of heroes; places that aren't Bree. The town walls can barely contain her and, most un-hobbit like, she can often be found returning late from a day long wander outside the walls of the settlement, despite constantly being warned of orcs and villains and evil and plenty other bad things lurking out there in the world. That isn't to say she doesn't learn from her mistakes, but advice doesn't always necessarily go to heart. May is definitely quite brave in her own way, not that her bravery has ever truly been tested.
Story: May wants to be a bold explorer, to see and feel and touch and draw and write about everything that Middle-earth, heck, all that Arda has to offer. She wants to meet new and interesting people and dreams of talking to an elf someday. Lastly, she wishes to be a part of a grand story of her own, just like in some of the tales she's heard and read. Collecting some personal treasures along the way is a bonus!
Biography: Though she's not too sure about it all, the story goes that her mother stumbled into Bree one day on her own and heavily pregnant, seemingly unwell and incoherent. The mother of a family of hobbits took her in and May was promptly born. Her mother passed away but a few days afterwards, succumbing in her weakness to whatever illness she had arrived with. Without any family to speak of a decision was quickly made. May was adopted by her new mother, father and three elder brothers and given her name, for would any hobbit turn away a orphan and be called a bad host?
Growing up May spent almost all of her spare time out and about, exploring the town and meeting people, whether it be at a market stall or in a tavern. All kinds of interesting folk pass through Bree. But no elves, not yet. As she got older she started venturing outside the front gates to explore the countryside, sometimes with a human friend or two, but usually alone. No nook was secure, no cranny safe. This un-hobbit like conduct led to many a long family talk filled with the firm advice to "Be more Hobbit May Littlefoot", but nothing really ever changed her adventurous attitude.
Having just come of age, wanderlust has all but claimed the young halfing. Her foster mother tearily protested and foster father advised against it as she discussed her plan to set off into Middle-earth and make a name for herself as, essentially, a famous explorer. Despite contrary advice, her mind was made up, and they eventually gave her their blessing. They realised that, quite frankly, it had always been inevitable. And so May's journey began in front of three visiting caravans. An eeny meeny miny moe and one rejection later saw her leave at dawn the next day, waving to her family from the back of the caravan until they slowly fell of sight.
