Well, sometimes smart has to give way in favor of balls. And, as we all know, Guardsman are issued, at absolute worse, balls of steel. It only goes uphill from there, really. Sure, they may normally have flashlights and t-shirts, but if you can club the enemies of Man to death with your titanic balls, who needs guns?

But, in all due srzrsness, Adrianne has the biggest melee weapon of the party, and OP warp powers! So ironically, the wizard of the party is also the best melee fighter xD

And, in all seriousness, I'd wager that Ansgar is the second most capable melee fighter. Being a trencher his whole life, one has to be able to survive the brutal melee struggles that come with storming a trench. Sure, he doesn't have fancy OP Warp powers or big weapons, but he has a shovel. And that's plenty for him.

Now I'm just imagining Adrianne charging into battle, huge power sword crackling, refractor field glimmering and warp powers flaring... and then behind her comes a guy with a shovel and a trenchcoat as support xD

Put short little Ansgar in his mundane outfit next to a big, tall psyker full of flashy gear and fancy effects, and it'll take a while for people to even notice he's there xD

Almost getting Full Metal Alchemist vibes, just a less angry short guy running around bashing people's heads in. Good times had by all. Except the heretics. I think it should be a thing for comedic value, if nothing else! Perhaps the vortex pulls him off the roof? Hmm, that might kill him though...

He is already wearing enuff black, so we got that part covered already ^_^

Only issue is he might be the only normal man in a group with a bunch of supernatural people xD

Being the only normal in the group is fun though, it creates an interesting perspective, doubly so when he has to face something the others are equipped for, not him.

And don't get too close too fast, he does have an awful lot of explosives. Might want to listen to your own siggy there, especially if he is expecting things to not get better. Might as well go out with a bang, right?

His warddrobe still needs more bats to fit, even if he does wear enough dark colored clothes though! He is the guardsmen they deserve, but not the one they need.

Guardsmen are invaluable!

Whenever the plot demands that someone dies, they can always step up to the plate so that no important characters are lost! xD

At the moment, he's not the one standing in front of a mob of armed civilians/cultists that already murdered and trampled the guardsmen guarding the place. So I would argue that point.

Adrianne does sport a refractor field, defensive kinetic warp powers, some decent armor, the ability to teleport, and the ability to befuzzle the masses!

While it may not seem like it - she actually has a plan! ^_^
