A group of teenage children were given letters to their homes that had an anonymous sender, saying that they must be sent to a lone island called "Efiapag" in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for certain needs. The address nor the island itself was never mentioned anywhere before which make people suspicious, but at the end of the letter it claims that this is mandatory or there may be consequences. There's a simple explanation before that about the island containing a school for these children to train their "powers". The definition of what that meant was unwritten. It was about advanced education and training, and the kids got to stay there for months or even years fully cared if the family sends them.
As most of the families agree, they put the children on a boat ride that lasts about a day or two - depending on where they're coming from - to get to the island. The multiple boats all meet up to a single wide path surrounded by thick forests. The captains only tell the children that took their boats to simply take the path - then left them there.
The role-play will be starting at this point, the children who were sent getting time to discuss why they're at Efiapag or, if they don't care on why they were sent there, get to know the other students while going to the castle. The headmasters will be waiting there at the entrance, and the reactions determine the real start of the RP.
A group of children were sent to Efiapag to be trained and taught how to use their powers, the "Phobias". It will be organized like a normal school system with the addition of basic training to the individual lessons for each of their abilities. They will have to face both their own powers plus the sudden introduction of monsters that are contained in this world.
The main species called the Nightmare Fuels contain a specific destructive trait that forms both their looks and personality. The only Nightmare Fuels part of this role-play are the trio that handle the school: The Judge, The Trickster, and Despair. They're much more powerful than the Phobias which is how and why there's only three at the moment.
The sub-category of the Nightmare Fuels are the many Phobias in the world, and occasionally the Phobia will inhabit or even form a child that contains this trait. They either have this Phobia or they're fully unafraid of it. The Phobia, after forming or taking over a human, will give the person powers after they're aware of having the trait - this will happen during the introduction to the school.
Currently : Day 1
Nightmare Fuels These are the headmasters that will be taking care of the children throughout the role-play. The Judge : judgement The Trickster : manipulation Despair : sadness Phobias These are the list of Phobias that you may choose from with a summary of the fear and powers. I might be adding more if there's a lot of interest. Note: If everybody trains with big effort and successfully goes through their lessons, then they will have the ability to fully shift into a creature that matches their Phobia later on.
Fear of wild animals. The Phobia is given power to summon and/or control animals ranging from a simple bunny to sharks and bears. They can either have the animal tame or shift them into raging beasts as weapons. Throughout their training they will control small animals, gradually increasing the difficulty.
Fear of spiders. The Phobia is given the power to grow two pairs of extra spider limbs on their back, and summon and/or control the whole species of spiders. If trained properly later on these spiders' size can be controlled, no matter the species, and have the possibility of spitting acidic venom.
Fear of fire. The Phobia is given the power of anything relating to fire, from the simple flame to erupting lava. They can form fire from the palms to their hands to blasting fireballs created out of the air. This is one of the easiest powers to learn but also one of the most destructive, meaning that if not trained properly, the powers can quickly go wild.
Fear of plants. The Phobia is given the power to grow, control, and summon different types of plants. It may seem simple but this means they can form enormous fly trap minions, tree monsters, vine traps, etc. later on. It requires extreme training to get to that point, but it is powerful.
Fear of the cold. The Phobia is given power over ice, snow, and frost. They can form storms, weapons, or monsters when getting deeper into their training lessons.
Fear of darkness. The Phobia is given power over darkness or even night time itself. It can shut off light sources to moving shadows to solidifying the darkness into demonic creatures. Only highly experienced people containing this Phobia will learn how to control the night (aka you can't).
Fear of technology. This Phobia learns how construct and control modern to futuristic technology from using his hands to telekinesis. Later on they will get to create their own inventions out of materials around them, pulling materials from even the ground if needed to. They can summon robot minions if needed and produce weapons during battle.
Please be descriptive with the posts with full grammar. The minimum length of the posts are about seven lines, and the max is getting into very low advanced.
Color your conversations for each character (you don't have to for thoughts) so it's easier to read. Also mention anyone involved in your post so they get the notification. I don't want people forgetting about this just because they weren't mentioned.
I don't mind a little swearing, romance, etc. After all, they're teenagers. It's normal. Just try to keep it to a minimum or I will have to notify you about it.
Don't argue or have random conversations in OOC. You may ask questions, put commentary about the role-play, but that's just about it. Please be as active as possible, too. If you're going to be gone longer than three days, notify me or a Co-GM (if any) about it.
Post the character sheet in OOC. I have to accept it or fix up a few things before putting it in Characters myself. If you post it in Characters it's automatically declined.
There are only two maximum characters that you can you have so there are is more detail and you have people to interact with.
Yes, you're allowed to post before I do, but I have to say when you guys have permission to post in character.
These are my rules. Don't go against them.
Hopefully you read through all the rules to know what to do with the character sheet.
Name: You may put first and last name or the full name of the character. Nickname(s): List any nicknames that the character can be called. Gender/Pronoun(s): You may have any gender and/or pronouns. There's no judging here - other maybe The Judge. Actually, if you judge or argue about another person/character's gender and pronouns while an embodiment of judgement doesn't, then get outta here. Age: The age range is only 13 to 19 years old. They're a group of teenagers after all. Trait: List the Phobia and fear after it so people remember what it is without having to look back to the lists. (Ex: Demonophobia - demons) Appearance: Explain the general look of the character without telling anything about clothing. You may say what they're wearing inside the role-play. Bio: Tell us about the background of the character before the family was given the letter to send them out to the island. Yes, there can be orphans, but the character has to stay with some sort of family member like an aunt or older sibling up to the point of getting the letter. Note: This is optional. Extra Info: If there's something you want to list that wasn't in the character sheet, you may put it here.
Appearance: Damon's skin is a commonly pale shade you would see often around his area. Damon's eyes are a dark shade of Blue-green that stand out under his muddy brown hair, which falls just an inch over his ears. Damon stands at five feet and six inches tall, standing just above some people. Underneath Damon's left eye is a faded scar that runs from his eye to the side of his nose, easy to see if you focus.
Bio: Damon's life isn't what you'd call perfect, but certainly not a bad one either. He grew up with an open-minded grandfather who realized and understood that not everyone was the same, this influenced Damon mentally since he was about 5 years old in a morally good way. He and his grandfather, Michael, lived in a quiet town together after his parents were killed in a car accident. Michael was the closest and first person to be found in Damon's family, and he was more than happy to raise his grandson, so the responsibility fell to him. Damon grew up for the next decade with a passion for reading, drawing and the occasional outdoor visit. One day, Michael received a letter addressed to his grandson, stating he was to be sent to an island called "Efiapag", as strange as it seemed, Damon and Michael both managed to make sense of it, soon after the two had headed for the coastline. Michael said goodbye to the grandson he seemed proud of as Damon left for god knows where.
Extra Info: You show him respect and Damon will regard you with just as much respect. He does not judge a person on who they are but rather what they do.
Appearance: Ambriel has extremely pale skin, so much so people often compare her to Snow White. Her hands and the soles of her feet are almost flawless, lacking the calluses the average person develops throughout the course of their life. The rest of her body is equally smooth, lacking sign of injuries or bruises. She has silvery-blonde hair that looks pure white in certain lighting. It falls down her back and 3" below her waist. She has a braid that comes out from above her ear and frames the left side of her face, cascading over her shoulder and to the middle of her torso. Her hair parts on the left almost next to the braid, her braids flowing right and half covering her right eye. Her eyes are light blue with almost white-ish blue directly around her pupil and sky blue around the edge of her iris. Her eyes are slightly angled, suggesting she may have Asian ancestors. She is moderately skinny and considered attractive. She stands at 5'1" and weighs 110 lbs. She stands straight and confidently, only hunching a little bit when in larger crowds.
Bio: Ambie lived with her dad and his girlfriend for as long as she can remember. Her mother died while giving birth to her in a tragic accident. She was home schooled and didnt have many friends so she never reall did much outside her house, besides the occasional afternoon shopping trip or fancy restaurant visit. When she was 13, her Dad's Girlfriend died in a shocking car accident. Her dad, convinced he was a bad luck charm to anybody around him, sent her to live with her older brother Michael. Michael continued to home school her while trying to attend college courses at the local community college. He eventually decided he either needed to drop out or cut Ambie's home schooling. He started to miss classes while he mulled over his options, not sure which he valued more. Finally he decided to let Ambie decide. When she was asked she replied with, "You can go to college, Its more important." Shocked, he gasped. Ambie was always serious about school, as it was most of her entertainment. He instantly realized that he couldn't stay in college or she would lose her biggest pass-time. The next day he dropped out. A few years later, during one of his teaching sessions, a resounding ring sounded from the door bell. They both got up and walked to the door. When opened, no answers were produced but a small white envelope on the door step...
Extra Info: Ambie is photosensitive, meaning her skin burns easily in the sun and she has trouble seeing in bright lights. Even some of the darkest sunglasses and strongest sunblock cant help her with this problem. Also, her entire family on her mother's side are named after angels.
@Ryuzaki Alright. You have to remove anything involving clothing because I did say: <Snipped quote> As long as you have a good description of the body then you should be fine.
@Ryuzaki My my, a perfect little angel of darkness with a death-filled background. I like it! You've been accepted to the school and will be added to the list. ~Anonymous
I'm really interested, thinking of making someone who has power over fungus. (Though, if @Ryuzaki likes the idea, I'd like to make a character who's kind of a mirror to your character, similar, but male and Heliophobic, having power over light and the sun. He is terrified of light, also, like your character.)
@RagenautYou'll have to ask Rain about that, then me. I do t know if she would let you use it, mainly because she has laid out the phobias in the OP and told me she would like them used first. But then again, I don't know anything so I could be 100% wrong, correct me if I am @RainbowFactory.
@Ragenaut If you want a character over the power of fungi, Botanophobia can be your choice, just more focused around that plant. You can make your character ask the headmasters in the role-play to focus the powers around that, but you still must learn the other lessons along with that ability. If I added Mycophobia, the fear specifically on fungi, it would not have enough powers nor a powerful enough shift to be included.
I apologize but in the original interest check Eosophobia, fear of sunlight, was knocked out because I could not think of enough abilities nor the shift for the Phobia. Heliophobia isn't much different, just the fear of any bright light in general, so that is why I'm not allowing it in the role-play.
@Blizz@SmileyJaws@Ryuzaki@Ragenaut Fortunately, if the current Phobias listed are mostly taken, I will be searching up more fears and thinking of more abilities to add on. If you have only one character you may create your second (but last) Phobia to put into the role-play as a late response to the letter, depending on how far we get into the RP. Some of you may already know this, but I'm repeating it now so you all remember.
@Blizz@Ryuzaki Again, if you guys haven't seen the mention on Discord, we will have to go without the one person that has been holding up the role-play due to a late notification of quitting it. I prefer you guys starting but I can make an introduction post.
@Ryuzaki Try to get a post in soon because you didn't reply to my notifications on Discord nor here about posting. Actually, you didn't even say anything at all recently. You have around a day or two to reply or post. If that doesn't happen soon then you get a warning. Second/third is a kick.
This to still open? I'd like to make one for the phobia of fire. (transforming into a dragon seems like a rather fitting beast transformation is it not? C:)
