The Inner Worlds of the Empire have fallen. Four centuries ago the gene-culling of the transhumanist movement known as Golgotha scorched the core worlds of the Llyr Empire. Taking cues from an ancient religion, the near-perfect humans waged a 'holy' war against the civilized nations and utterly destroyed them. In return, the Golgotha were hunted down by the nations of the Outer Alliance, a confederation of nations that managed to shake off the shackles of Empire in the waning years of that great power. The remnant forces of the Golgatha managed to escape and have carved out a dominion of their own...
In Peacekeepers, you take the role of a nation in an era of reconstruction and uncertainty in the galaxy. Enter the Unity Accords; a council of nations and factions that have signed a treaty in hopes of bringing peace and prosperity to the Galaxy. Roleplay will consist of political interaction via the Galactic Council, an organization consisting of those players that choose to sign the Accords. The main stipulations of the Unity Accords are as follows:
Faster-Than-Light-Travel is restricted to use of Warp Gates
Planet-Killer Weapons are restricted to Members of the UA Security Council Nations
Former Empire Planets are to be re-colonized by UA members
The UA vows to defend other members of the UA
Cartography
A basic map of the galaxy. Borders are estimated. Feel free to add your own maps in the Characters tab after your nation has been accepted.
circa 3480 Llyr Calendar
Races
Peacekeepers takes place in a galaxy far, far away, so no 'terra' or 'earth' nations please. Class A humanoid Class B non-humanoid etc
Technology
Unity Accord Accepted Tech Terraforming
Regenerative Medicine Eternal life is well within reach for the right price. Warp Gates
Energy Weapons High-powered weapons are costly and many smaller nations view them as strictly tools of the elite nations of the Galactic Council.
Controversial Technology Cybernetic Assimilation The widespread use of Cybernetic Assimilation during the waning years of the Llyr Empire fed bodies into a horrific war.
Planet Killing Weapons (PKW) While the production of Weapons of Mass Destruction continues, the use of such PKW's are strictly forbidden.
Gene Manipulation & Genetic Engineering The terror war waged by the transhumanists known as The Golgotha have cast a shadow over the advancements in genetic engineering of living things. The Unity Accord makes provisions banning the widescale use of Genetic meddling.
FTL Drives Faster-Than-Light travel is highly regulated in an effort to control trade and the potential for large-scale war. Ships are required to use fixed-orbit Warp Gates belonging to Galactic Council nations.
Obviously some things are yet to be added but if you are interested in this sort of RP send me a mention! There may also be opportunity to play a single character if that is more your style as most of the RP would be discourse between ambassadors, envoys etc.
I kind of want to steer away from 'go-to' sci-fi races you see alot of in RPs and popular culture. What do you mean by 'slime-race'? I'm leaning more towards a realistic RP that sort of mirror's contemporary 20th-21st century social issues, and nations should reflect that. Would be interesting to see a nation with more than one race for instance. Nothing is set in stone yet however! @Ashevelendar
When you say realistic 20-21st century, does this mean the aliens need to be reflective of modern social issues in regards to what sort of cultures and forms they can take? Can aliens have a very distinct tech base from the Llvyr Empire or must all the tech be similar regardless of home world origin?
And also, do all species have to have a history with the Llvyr Empire as clients/former clients or can you have things that developed outside their whole continuity? The need to be part of the UA seems to imply the former and I am not 100% certain on what players can be in this RP.

Fair points all sir. When I say 20th-21st century issues I mean to say that conflict in the RP narrative will most likely draw inspiration from contemporary issues in that those are the things I am most familiar with. You need not craft a pseudo-nation based on a modern nation state-be creative as you wish. As for technology, I am considering this RP 'open source' in that anyone may add history/technology/context to the lore and canon as long as it fits the overall feeling of the roleplay. Must you acknowledge the existence of the Llyr Empire? Yep. Did a psychotic transhumanist movement lead to the downfall of said empire? You have to take that into account as well. I hope the setting I've imagined will give everyone the best possible background for whatever they choose to play. I am flexible in those regards as well.
While the technology of Llyr is a basis and guidepost for player nations, you need not restrict yourself to it either. Any interpretation of the mentioned techs (i.e. gene-manipulation, cybernetics, etc.) is welcome. I actually prefer that players come up with super-controversial technologies/social constructs etc. as that will provide some roleplaying opportunities. I would also prefer that players create nations in broad strokes in the initial nation sheets and fill in details as the game progresses. Right now, I am simply gauging interest for this sort of RP-I know that their are some seriously creative minds bouncing around these forums and I look forward to writing some really cool stuff with people. Hope this helps @Arawak
Speaking of broad strokes I already have a lot written on them since their kind is somewhat of a import, but they're flexible enough to re-contextualize since I figure that the psychotic trans-humanist movement may have caused a disruption that provoked their migration or something of that nature.
Thematically the beings I have in mind are meant to be more of a nightmarish thing generally loathed by other societies, like a swarm of giant sadistic space wasps. I'd rather all the aliens be unique from humans in some fundamental way (though I failed to enforce this even in my own NRP attempts that took off, it would probably surprise me to see a NRP with player created alien species where none of the aliens ever hit a human-likeness greater than say, the Shanghelli from Halo). It's almost as if people don't wanna be weird squid things.
Anyhow, in terms of what societies these beings have I have a several as they're immigrants from a personal setting. I give most of my major aliens multiple civilizations and the Vopson are no exception. I omitted two of them since one of them is too contextual (being reliant on the existence of a spacefaring Titanian sapient) and the other is too advanced. Of the two left, the Pale Swarm lacks much in terms of culture and are too insular while the Golden Swarm is more outward looking and more materialistic and so I deem the more interesting of the two.
The Golden Swarm is a extremely opulent swarm. The Golden Swarm unlike the Pale Swarm is much, much more aggressive in its behavior and more affable, in that it is possible to communicate with them. The problem being that the Golden Swarm's flocks tend to be extremely sadistic and view humans and other individualistic species as sub-sapients, but hive minds and other flock intelligences they seem to treat with some greater degree of respect should they come across them. The Golden Swarm's culture is much more materialistic as they love to horde gold and flesh (along with skins, skin makes nice wallpaper). The Golden Swarm also tends to enslave whoever surrenders to them in a tribute system where in exchange for protection from the Vopson you are taxed at about 5% of your population every collection cycle (which is a several years). Highly populated worlds are seen as valuable since the Vopson noticed sub-sapient beings tend to have much larger populations of megafauna (humans count as a megafauna- the Vopson are small compared to us) than animals do (while the Vopson have even more!), and so tend to want control of highly populated planets, though they settle for outer colonies as well. The slaves are not used for practical purposes whatsoever. Let us leave it at that for now, the shock factor is spoiled if I tell you now.
The Golden Swarm's technology is centered around large asteroid spacecraft that act as the main unit which a lot of their infrastructure is based around- these asteroid spaceships are essentially like mobile and oozing, bloody O'Neill Cylinders in sci-fi terms. The Golden Swarm has technologically developed a mastery in all matter of corrosives and the general motif of their tech tends to be acidic. Lots of colorful and eroded aesthetics all around thanks to their fetishism of molten sulfur they like to have bubbling about. Molten Sulfur for reference is the reason why Io is so colorful. A world like Io the Golden Swarm would covet due to supplying them with the large quantities of sulfur needed for all the sulfuric acid they like using in their weaponry and mold casting.

That being said if there's too many people making "outside" alien forces i'll make a UA member instead.
Trying to get OOC up today. Here is a basic NS for you guys that are interested. Feel free to adapt as needed but keep the formatting mentioned with everything under hiders. You may use ONE image to represent yourself if you wish. (not including any maps or seal/symbol/crest etc.)
Nation Name:
Seal/Symbol/Crest/Motto: (If you wish)
Officials: Probably a list of people you will be roleplaying as. Include a few of these from whatever part of your nation is relative. Update as necessary.
Core Worlds: You need not list every world under your nations flag, but include some important ones like major economic hubs/ports, and governmental centers etc.
Brief History: Don't give me an exhaustive history of your nation or race from primordial times, just catch us up from the era of the Llyr Empire.
Primary Species: Briefly describe the primary species of your nation. If your nation has multiple species, include them here as well.
Policy: Where does your nation stand on certain issues? You need not write your nations stance on every issue but pick one or two things. For instance, how do they view the heavy regulations of FTL?
Economy: Advanced powers probably have a mixed economy of resource production, mining, manufacturing, tourism etc.
Military: Leave this part blank for the time being until information on ships is available.
Maps: Not necessary, but feel free to map any aspect of your nation that you wish. Homeworlds, systems etc. You may claim a section of the galactic map as your own as well, but the borders are an abstraction and merely represent your nations presence in the galaxy. If you wish, I can draw your nation in as I see fit.
Place everything in Hiders with the section header as the Hider tag. I.e. [hider=Economy][hider=Policy] etc.
