Yubel closed her eyes, with a smile and gave a curt nod, agreeing with the Genie, opening her eyes to look at Shadow.. You have quite the interesting experience but what you say is true. We work in the darkness to help the light." She said before closing her eyes. "May tomorrow be better than tonight." Yubel said softly, as she laid down on the other side of Jaden, laying a wing over his form though no one would see it that could not see spirits but to those who could, and for Jaden, this showed how much she cared for Jaden, how she protected him.

The following two days the ship arrived with Yugi and the others learning about Jaden as Jaden started to learn about Yugi and his friends. It was morning when the ship docked and The Duelists started getting off the ship and heading for the castle, Yugi, his friends and Jaden went there as well as they were instructed to hear Pegasus's speech before the tournament began.

Shadow nodded in agreement to Yubel's statement, and in truth, she believed her. They both were the darkness of the light, and the two Duelists were that said-light. She watched as the she-demon retired for the night by seeing her wrap one of her wings around Jaden. Having to think about such a thought, the genie looked to the sleeping Yugi, who was peacefully slumbering next to her. Sitting on her knees, next to the boy, Shadow lightly brushed a hand over his hair, smiling fondly. If he were to feel the movement, it was almost like a ghostly touch. Awkwardly laying down next to his smaller form, copying Yubel's movements, the genie didn't cover him, but just laid next to him, lulling herself to sleep after thinking about the brief amount of time they spent together, so far.

The next morning, with the ship docked, the rules of tournament there brief yet strict: win and gain ten star chips for access of dueling Maximilliom Pegasus. Ten duels, and ten wins was all they needed. The whole time, the genie was inwardly prepared to help Yugi in retrieving his grandfather, but she also couldn't get that white-haired kid, whom she noticed along the way, out of her mind. They was something familiar about him, but she couldn't pinpoint when, or where. She was pulled from her thoughts when she saw Weevil up ahead. "Yugi", she pointed out for her master to notice.

Yugi walked along with his friends within a forest area, Yugi with his hands resting at the straps of his backpack. Yugi was looking around for any Duel but noticed that it would be hard since being in a forest so finding a Duel arena within would be a little of a challenge. Yugi made a side glance over towards their sudden new addition to the group, Jaden who seemed to be a big ball of carefree. Yugi envied his new found friend, knowing that he knew nothing of Yugi's tre intensions of being here. Only that Yugi was here and left Jaden to his imagination as to why. Though for the time being, he had to admit that his attitude was a little infectious and was cool with exploring to get an idea of what the forest area was a like.

"Aachoo!"

Came a sneeze of which both Joey and Jaden were sniffling. Either one could have sneezed. Yugi felt bad for the two whom Joey tried to save his Exodia cards and Jaden, who saved his best friend from the drowning. Both most likely suffering the wrath of a small sickness that would hopefully go away soon.

"Achoo!"

Came another and now that Yugi face the two it was Jaden who sneezed an sniffled on his sleeve. " 'xcuse me...aww..." Of this, Yubel side at his side with her hands on her hips like a mother about to scold her son. "This is what happens when you don't take care of yourself properly, Jaden." She scolds of which Jaden sneezes again with coverin his mouth and nose. He pulls his bag from behind him to front and rummages through real quick to pull out some travel tissues that his uses to blow his nose. "Worth it." he tells her with a slight groggy like voice from his nose being stuffed up. Yubel only sighs and sighs her head, knowing that he was right but still could have prevented this by taking care of himself. Joey was next to sneeze of which Tristen sighs and veers slightly away from his buddy.

"Maybe next time you'll learn not to dive from a boat!" Tristen scolds which earns a glare from Joey. "You would have done da same ya moron." protesting while Jaden offers his tissues to Joey who takes them and blows his nose. "I would have but you were the idiot to not change all your clothes so who is the moron now?" Tristen asks while Joey glares again.

Yugi can only sigh at the antics that he is hearing before him and smile in the process. He smiles till he notices Shadow appear before him and point out something. Looking to where she was pointing, Yugi noticed Weevil. "Weevil...." Steeling himself as he makes his way without much words but his friends notice and follow Weevil who when they see him clearly, he is by a large Duel arena.

"Welcome Yugi. Come to get revenge over your poor Exodia?" Weevil asked mokingly to the young Yugi who seemed to have hardened Amethyst eyes that tried to hide how nervous and scared he was about Dueling a National Champion. Jaden glanced the puzzle solver only to clap a hand on his shoulder. "You got this Yugi. He's just trying to discourage you." "It would seem that Jaden is telling the truth. It is alright Yugi. Let us work together to take this insect down." Yami declares, trying to help Yugi gain his courage.

Yugi looked to Shadow and Jaden with a smile to then look back to Underwood. Yugi walks to the base of the other side of the Duel arena and got onto the platform. When it rose to the top, Yugi was not present unless you had excellent perceptive skills in telling the difference between Yugi and Yami (good luck). Yami looked Weevil as her shuffled his deck with no look towards his cards before lacing them onto the terminal.

Shadow had her arms crossed the whole time she and the group have walked through the forest areas, while also walking by a few other duelists. Keeping her red-orange eyes open for anybody in particular, she only pointed out Weevil to only warn Yugi to keep his distance, but then the puzzle-solver decided that it was necessary to follow the culprit who threw the cards of Exodia overboard on the ship. That was something she could not tolerate; consider herself and Yugi lucky that Jaden interfered; otherwise, Yami would have handled the situation in a drastic fashion that would be for the benefit of Yugi's wellbeing.

"In every step of the way, we are by your side, puzzle-solver. Now and always", the genie agreed with the spirit, before becoming solid next to him, with arms still crossed, yet still remaining unnoticeable to everyone. Narrowing her orange-red eyes at the insect duelist, she mentally prepared herself for their first duel on the island, as well as the first obstacle in rescuing Yugi's grandfather. "In my personal opinion, I still think he should be taught a lesson", she comment to Yami from next to him while standing before Weevil within the dueling arena.

Yami gave a curt nod to Shadow's statement, indeed in Yami's opinion that Weevil needed to be taught a lesson in not meddling with other Duelist's desks just so he could stay ontop. Almost like Kaiba. He knew that a deck was more based on the monsters and spells and traps that were in the deck. This it seemed Yami would have to teach to the parasite like he did Seto. "I agree. He doesnt seem to understand the meaning of the word honor." If you were a real and honest Duelist like you claim to be, then you would know that powerful cards mean nothing. No matter how weak the card can be as long as you trust my deck." Explaining to Weevil who laughed.

"Then it seems I will need to set an example that power means everything, even when you have the smallest of creatures." The insect duelist challenged. With this, the cards shuffled and ready Weevil snickers as he realizes something while pulling off two star chips from his glove. "I see that you only have one Star Chip little Yugi. Guess I'll have the pleasure of eliminating you from the Island!" Weevil cackles. Yami smirks as he watches Weevil and placing down his one Star Chip. "Not if I take your two first." Yami saying confidently.

Weevil stopped laughing as he looked dumbfounded by Yami's confidence. "Whaat?!"

Yami's smirk was still on his lips. This will be an all or nothing match for the both of us." Weevil seemed not only help but laugh outright before. "What makes you think that I would risk both my star chips when You only have one?" Weevil asks suspiciously.

"Because I have something I think you would want. My entire Duel Deck." Yami admits, raising the stakes to bait Weevil who could only snicker. The spirit knew then that the Regional Champ took the bait. "SO! You would risk you Grandpa's entire deck? Fine by meee!~" Weevil laughs again. "This will be be easy to exterminate you once and for all!" Weevil declared before laughing again.

Joey growled, getting tired of Weevils gloating. "Swat this little twerp like a Misquito!" He shouted. Jaden could only grin. "Gett'im Yugi! Show that creepy crawly whose boss!" Yubel noticed the change in Yugi as she stood as she too saw a change in Shadow. Magic, an old magic flowed through them both, more through the boy. The Demoness was unsure what to make of it but decided to watch and see further.

With the wages sets and ready, the two drew their cards and began. "Champ first! I draw!" Weevil declares as he draws his card. "I summon Killer Needle (ATK 1200-DEF 1000 changing to ATK 1560-DEF 1300) in attack mode." Weevil snickers as he ends his turn.
Three random duelists come into the clearing as they see Weevil and Yugi on the arena. "Look! Its Weevil Underwood! Is he Dueling?" one asks. "Yeah! But who is the other kid?" the second asks.

Joey and the others look to the Trio as they talk when Wheeler decides to butt in. "That guy is Yugi Motou. He beat Kaiba. And I happen to be his best friend, Joey Wheeler. This is Jaden Yuki. and these two?" Pointing to Tea and Tristen, "Are trespassers." He states simply in a matter of fact tone of which said trespassers groan in irritation. Jaden sighs lopsidedly as Joey's antics.

"I thought I wouldnt see a Weevil-Yugi match till the finals." the third said. "Weevil is Regional Champ. No way a new kid is going to stand a chance." The first countered.

Yami is suddenly confused what had happened to make Weevil's creature stronger but didnt ask. He would find out either way as he draws his card for his turn. "I summon Mammoth Graveyard (ATK 1200-DEF 800 changing to ATK: 1560-DEF: 1040) in Attack mode. Mammoth Graveyard, attack Killer Needle!" Yami instructs his monster that rushes for when the two connect, the skeletal mammoth and the wasp like insect both are enveloped in smoke as well as pixelated bits exploded leaving cleared smoke and an empty field. Yami looks surprised that his monster is gone. "I don't get it! Both creatures were evenly matched! It should've been a stalemate!" Yami realized aloud while he wondered what was going on. He looked to Weevil who was snickering loudly.

"Have you begun to figure out yet why I led you all the way to this forest area? If you just look around, then you will see that this area is an exact replica of our surrounding environment. One part wasteland and one part forest. And who thrives in the forest? Bugs! The strongest, most powerful insects rule the forest!! So as long as I play my bugs in the forest area, I get a field power bonus! I guess you just weren't listening when Pegasus said that this tournament would have exciting new surprises in store for us! Maybe if you were smart enough to steal the tournament's secret new rules like I did, you'd be getting a field power bonus instead of me! Ahahahaha!"

Joey was clearly unhappy. "He cheated! He led us here 'cause he knew he'd have an unfair advantage!"

"Go ahead! Call me a cheater; you're all just angry that you didn't swipe the rules yourselves! And because you didn't, little Yugi's about to get stung!" Weevil declared.

Jaden then begins to laugh out loud making the insect duelist look to him confused. "What! What are you laughing about!" Weevil demands, making Jaden laugh even more. Yami looks to the field and smirks, seeing why Jaden was laughing. He soon settles down and grins. "Look at the field and see why!" Of which Weevil and looks shocked. "What?! Where is my Killer Needle!?"

"Seems you didn't notice but Mammoth Graveyard and Killer Needle were both evenly matched." Jaden explained. And with the wasteland on my side of the field, I too got a bonus." Yami finished what Jaden was explaining.

Weevil looked horrified that his creature was gone. "W-w-what? Oh no! My monster! What have you done with my monster?! Ugh!!" He looks to the screen to see what happened and saw how what they said was true. "Rrrgh! The field point advantage was supposed to be mine alone!"

Yami was calm, his smirk gone but it was all clicking together. "I kept wondering about something on the boat ride here, Weevil. Why were we traveling to some remote island just to duel? But as soon as I saw this holographic display grid, it all came together. Every monster has a type of field that it does best on, kind of like a home field advantage." The spirit began.

"And what makes this island so special, is that it contains every type of field imaginable. So when you deliberately led us to this spot, you were clearly hoping to get some kind of field advantage." Jaden finished right after as if he saw the click too.

Shadow watched from the sidelines, with her arms still crossed. Her presence still lingered next to Yami, though stood a few inches behind him, if one were to look over his left shoulder. For the most part, she was starting to definitely not like this Weevil, even while she, Yugi, and the spirit have just met him. The kid rose a lot of red flags, having to perform so many misdeeds in order to get what he desires; in this case, winning a tournament. "Quite ambitious and cunning, isn't he?", she commented before she took witness of the statement between the two duelists.

It only made her smirk as soon as Weevil became flabbergasted at Yami's advantage to use the field. "Kind of like my advantage in the shadows and the darkness", the genie realized, as the idea indeed began to click altogether. Looking over the spirit's shoulder, at his cards, she managed to spot the Eclipse trap card in his hand, but didn't say anything about it, since her own card wasn't there, yet. Though she did wonder on what his strategy would be.

Inside the puzzle, where Yugi thought he was alone, a voice called as he stood alone in the darkness of his own mind. "...Yugi...Yugi", the voice of a female echoed.

"Indeed he is. Though he may know all the rules before anyone doesnt mean people havent found out by now. Take us for example. He's been telling us and could have not said a thing. He's too confident. Gloating." Yami explained with a smirk between them. When she too realized the difference that Weevil also pointed out, with Jaden and Yami ticking him off, the Spirit nodded. "Indeed. In this though your would be straight darkness areas say if there was an arena in a cave for example. Shadows could work with the forest. or something that could produce a large ammount of shadows to the field."

Yami looked over his cards while Weevil drew. He saw the trap card Eclipse. However Shadow was not in his hand so there wasn't anything he could do with it though it could put him at an advantage later if he could draw her card.

"Really? Then let's just see how you handle this bluff!" Weevil summoned Hercules Beetle (ATK: 1500- DEF: 2000/ ATK: 1950-DEF: 2600) in attack mode. "My Hercules Beetle will find a way to crawl under your skin!" snickering.

Yami looks at the beetle as he seemed in calm thought. 'Even though I know about the field power bonus, it's too late to rebuild my deck now. I guess a combo attack would be my best bet.' Drawing his card before placing a card down. "I play Feral Imp (ATK: 1300-DEF: 1400)!" Yugi declares as a green, catlike, ferocious little Feral creature appears. "I then play the Spell Card Horn of the Unicorn to boost my Imps attack." The imp's little horn then grows to be a Unicorns horn as it's attack and defense grew by 700(FERAL IMP ATK: 2000-DEF 2100).

Weevil was giggling manically. "Heeheehee! You'll have to do a lot better than that! Hercules Beetle, attack!!" He commanded his insect. "Feral Imp. Magic Lightning Attack!" Yami declared as Feral Imp shocks Hercules Beetle, but the beetle uses its horn to take the lightning and strikes back making the imp take the hit in the chest and disintegrates. Yami was shocked to see this and didnt understand. Tea looked shocked too. "Yugi's attack didn't even faze that thing!" Joey's looked disappointed, knowing something was wrong. "Somethin's screwy."

"My Imp's Magic Lightning attack should've destroyed your Beetle; is this another trick, Weevil?!" Yami demanded to know. Of course the insect Duelist was in a fit of giggles though sounded nastily innocent. " No, Yugi, I just thought you knew that all monsters with a field power bonus were also resistant to any type of magic attack! And since my Hercules Beetle easily deflected your lightning bolts, he has more than enough power left to destroy your puny Feral Imp and continue to eat away at your lifepoints!" Yami looked to the screen to see his lifepoints went from 2000 to 1350.

Lifepoint review:
[Weevil Underwood: 2000]
[Yugi Motou: 1350]

Sitting on the bed within his Soul Room of which was bright white with toys, puzzles, and Duel monster cards with his room looking much like his own in Domino City. Yugi was looked to the door when he heard a voice, noticing that it was a females voice which was uncommon to hear it. The young boy looked confused. "Hello?" He called out before standing up cautiously. He made his way to the door. He heard his name again. He opened the door to seemed to be what looked like an endless hallway. Across from his door was an old looking metal door with an Egyptian looking eye on it. Yugi of course been in his soul room whenever Yami took over but this time remembering it, never been outside his room and to see this door. "Hello?" Looking around and out of it. "Anyone there?"

Shadow listened to the spirit's explanation of what it meant by the choice of field, and what it can do for someone like herself. "Oh", she mused at the amount of information that he managed to exchanged. In a way, the genie could only feel comfortable with him, and she already was, considering that she already knew him from an early life. Though it was sad that he didn't know her. She couldn't tell him, not yet.

Within the Puzzle, Yugi's calling made a shadow silhouette zoom down the seemingly endless hall. It was quick, but one could easily catch its movement. 'Yugi...', the voice called again, until the boy's own shadow began to move on its own; having eyes of its own and a mouth, it moved. '...Yugi..!', it called once again, before another shadow zoomed by, going in the same direction as the previous one did.

Yugi saw the shadow silhouette appear suddenly when he called out. Watching it go down the endless hall to hear his name be called again. Seeing his own shadow move, he looked to it with innocent curiosity. "Ah!" He was caught off caught when it had eyes and a mouth like his own before moving, startled. "Whats going on here?" He asked to himself aloud till he heard his name again. "Shadow?" He called out, though cautiously moved in the direction the shadows were moving towards.

Jaden looks at the field with confidence in Yugi. "You can do it Yugi! Stomp that bug!" He cheered on. Joey wasn't all too convinced he could kill that bug so easily. "Even that four-eyed tick's weakest bugs're gonna be tough to beat, so long as he's got that field power bonus." He pointed out. Tristen shook his head. "Yeah, but it's not exactly like it can just be turned off." the brunette looked to the three with disbelieving looks. "Come on guys! Dont be so down! Cheer Yugi on!" He encouraged.

Weevil snickered. "It's your turn! Make your move!"

So Yami draws while looking at his cards and the card that he drew. 'Maybe I should use my next monster to defend. By putting my card in defense mode, my monster will take a hit, but my lifepoints will be spared.' So Yami set a card and ended his turn. Weevil made his move now and drew. "So, we're defending now, are we? Very clever! Since I can't see your monster's defense points, I can't be sure I can beat it, but even your strongest monster can't stand against my Basic Insect!" He declares while summoning Basic Insect (ATK: 500-DEF: 700). "Not only does he get a field power bonus, but I'm upgrading him with a Laser Cannon Armor, and a Level Two "Power Boost"! (BASIC INSECT ATK:650-DEF: 910)

The Spirit scowled at that. 'No! His insect's so powerful now, my defense won't stand a chance, and after it falls, my lifepoints are next!'

"Now, Yugi, for all the innocent little bugs you've squashed, stomped, crushed, or fumigated, i-i-i-it's payback time!!!" Underwood raged maniacally as he laser cannon fires and Yugi bows his head, letting the podium shield him. His face down blown away like it was nothing. Weevil seems to be doing nothing but enjoying it. "Heheheheheh! You'll have to do better than that if you hope to survive my bug's laser-powered arsenal!"

With Yami's turn, he places a face down of which that is all he can do for now while the Insect Duelist is just grinning. "Hmm. Another defense card, no doubt. And I'll make sure defending is all he can do! Heheheh! I'm going to keep you on the defensive! Attack now, with any monster, and you will instantly activate this trap card!" Exclaims while throwing down a face down within the trap and spell zone.

"Weevil's got him cornered up there." Tristen speaks up.
"Yeah and hardly able to counter thus far." Jaden adds. "He can do it."

"As long as my trap card remains in play, you're powerless to make a move against me! So, does my tightening web make you squirm?" Weevil asks rhetorically. Yami looks at the field, calculating. "He's so busy bragging, he's not paying *any* attention to my moves. Maybe I can set a little trap of my own." More within the link they share then to herself. Sometimes not knowing when he does or doesnt switch.

Indeed, many figures of these shadows began to swarm down the hallway, practically leading Yugi into following them. Even his shadow pointed in the direction of where to follow them, the whole way. Many of them were on the walls, and on the ground. They were making wailing noises, almost like shrieks, until they dissapeared completely, fading into nothingness. At the same time, a dark figure moved in the distance, dashing by, like an apparition in the darkness. Before it disappeared completely, a speck of red eyes looked at him; a red-eyed, smokey apparition of a female.

'Yugi...', the female voice whispered and echoed all around, repeating his name. 'Yugi...Yugi...Yugi', it continued to echo.

Yugi continued through the hall, feeling that maybe this wasn't so bad. "I wonder why they want me to follow." He wondered aloud as he continued to walk. The tri-colored haired boy walked more to slowly start wanting to turn back. He stopped when the walls started showing more shadows. Hearing the Wailing made him stop a little, but kept going till they turned to shrieks of which he started to cover his ears, not liking the noises at all and wishing they stop. It wasnt until he began running through that he noticed them stop and uncovering his ears. "AH!" He squeeked, startled by sudden movement that would happen within the corner of his eyes or sudden appear infront of him.

"H-Hello...?" He calls out hesitantly as he wiped his eyes of little bits of water that formed in his eyes. Yugi was scared there was no denying it. He wanted to go back to his soul room and just let this be a bad dream. Seeing red-eyes watching him, a smokey apparition of a female having appeared ahead was something Yugi felt he shouldn't go near. Hearing his name being repeated over and over and over. Arms wrapping around his own torso as some sort of security, shrinking back a little bit. "W-Who's there? W-What's going on? W-What do you want?" His voice shaking a bit from the experience he was having.

The same apparition appeared again; this time, leaning against a wall, with red eyes watching him. The boy's name continued to repeat in the air, surrounding him. This being, or whatever it was, was approaching him now. Taking elegant strides towards the boy, her smokey figure stood tall, the smoke whisping off of her features, just as her red eyes continued to glow. However, to see her master and owner all shook up, the voice stopped echoing around them, while the shrieks and wails began to slowly dissipate. "You're within the mind", the female said, though it didn't echo this time; it was clear for Yugi to easily hear, and trace it back to the entity before him.

"You're within my heart", she continued to say. The smoke upon her form began to dissipate, as she looked down at him. "You're in my home", Shadow's features softened and became clearer now, with her beautiful genie figure, and glowing red eyes now beginning to give off its normal color.

Yugi wasn't liking the wails and shrieks that came back with his name still being called out in whispers, his eyes tearing up while he watched the figure appear again. This time with the female figure walking toward him, he starts to back away little by little, now and again. He didn't know what happened, or how, the voices stopped. The shrieks and wailing stopped. Yugi slowly stopped and looked around, stopped retreating to rub his eyes as fast as he could as he listened to the single voice that he could distinctly hear now. The one single voice. The Mind? Her Heart? Her home? Who was she? He wondered.

Moving his hands from his face, the shadowy figure seemed to change for him as she walked closer to him. Softer figure, clearer, red eyes fad to the normal eyes that was Shadow and Yugi could only shudder a sigh in relief. "Your home? W-What happened? What was all that?" the young boy asked while he still hugged himself.

Shadow towered over Yugi by about a foot. Even while the boy was in front of her, the genie stood before him, overshadowing him, while expressing a very passive expression upon her features; nowhere near menacing or threatening. "You're standing within the device of my creation, Yugi. My life-source", she began before placing her hand over her heart. "The Millenium Puzzle is keeping me alive; it's my heart, and my home. As long as I am alive, so are they", she gestured to the moving shadows.

"To humans, they would be known as shadows, but to me, they are more than just figures on the ground", as if on cue, Yugi's casted-shadow moved on its own, blinking its eyes at him. "They are me; the negative aspect of one's own individual. Like this one, every Shadow has a host. You're its host; it's a part of you", the genie continued. "I would be considered as their queen. I command them, talk to them, sense them; even steal them. However, if such control is misused, there can be distatrous effects."

Letting his arms slowly fall to his sides with Shadow so close, felt a bit safer knowing it was her here. Looking about him he was surprised how he was told that he was within the Millennium Puzzle though looked wary of the shadows around when she pointed out that they were in here too and moved a little more to her.

It was interesting how they seemed to be a being of their own, looking to his own shadow, he saw it look to him and blink to him. Though he was wary of the shadows, he was curious and moved closer to his shadow and reached out to try and touch it, to see what it may do and hopes it would help relieve him though heard that they were a negative aspect of one's individual and are her which made little sense to him and as she explained, he had questions. "So they have a mind of their own, yet are apart of you. Is it because of your nature? What would happen if the shadows were misused? Is there a right and wrong way to treat them?" He asked as he looked to her.

The shadow didn't react to Yugi, when he reached out to him. However, as soon as the boy touched, it faded completely from the ground. "He's not necessarily out here, Yugi", the genie explained. "He's inside you, thriving within your heart. He can only make himself known to you, whenever you may feel the negative; anger, jealousy, or even fear, he will arise, and you could lose sight of who you are", she sighed, almost sadly. "He is the darkness within your heart".

"Aside from my duty to protect you, my job is to keep him from influencing you in succumbing to that darkness. If these beings manage to do so, then chaos could ensue...or worse", she looked away from Yugi, to the side. "I can't treat them, or change them. It's who they are; they are their own being from within you". She then closed her eyes, almost in shame. "I am a shadow, as well, Yugi".

Watching the shadow fade, Yugi pulled his hand away to his chest quick then looked to Shadow while she explained further on what these shadows were and what would happen if misused. He believed he understood better than he did before, seeing how this was all could be as she says it is. "I understand. I think." He looked to the shadows and then to Shadow, wondering why she looked ashamed. Yugi didn't understand. "Though what do you mean by 'him'? Are you talking about Yami? Or my own shadow?" He asks in hopes that she could clarify before assuming anything. It was just how she explained to him that what she seemed to be talking about that came to his mind is Yami.

"Like I said, Yugi, everyone has a shadow; Yami has his own", for that, the boy's shadow was back, reappearing on the ground near him. Shadow looked back at her master, still giving off a very passive expression in her features. "Your own shadow is in here", she gestured to his heart, before touching her forehead. "Not up here", meaning the mind. "Yami and I would be up there", the genie clarified, hoping that it would help Yugi understand what she was trying to tell him.

It would be a major difference between something of the mind and the heart; emotions come from the said-organ, which would make sense for it to hold one's positive and negative feelings, whereas the mind held the mental energy, where she and the spirit would take refuge in, and take control of Yugi, when necessary. She didn't say anything about her true origins yet; otherwise it would be really confusing for Yugi to even understand how she would fit in with the Millenium Puzzle.

Yugi nodded, fully understanding now. The young boy seemed to have settled now, not completely paying attention to the shadows and what he was being told. This also gave him an better understanding of the shadows. But one thing seemed to really make Yugi wonder that had scared him the most. "I understand. But there is something that bothers me." Yugi said. "Why were they wailing and shrieking like they were?" More concerned for the shadows than his own feelings of it all.

"These are shadows of people that I've managed to imprison", she responded before looking at the said-shadows that we're walking or flying around them, venturing around the hallways of the Puzzle. "These are the ones who don't have the right to go back to their hosts, after they've managing to blind them from who they are", Shadow looked back at Yugi with a sigh, almost ashamed of doing such a deed, but having to do it for their own good. "You can't pity them for their actions, Yugi; they show no remorse in what they do. All they desire is chaos and misery within your world, nothing more. This is the punishment for their acts of discord".

If Yugi defends this and shows pity, Shadow knew for sure that he didn't know what these shadows were capable of.
