Kat jumped to the side leaving a clone that only seconds later turned into dissipating flames as she dodged a Beowolf before firing the SMG built into her Wakizashi sheath while using her Wakizashi to deflect the claws of the beowolf before using her flame clone semblance once more to distract the beowolf as she started attacking leaving the flames from her clones to do little damage to the beowolf before she managed to get a hit with her Wakizashi managing to kill the Beowolf.

"One down and who knows how many still waiting" Kat says to herself she was still high-strung from fighting the Grimm horde that attacked Beacon so she was almost literally jumping at her own shadow as it was something that she hadn't felt since she had defected from the White Fang months before.

Xander had come to Beacon at the suggestion of her clan in the hopes that she might find someone who could replace her lost part and she had acquiesced. She knew that her clan saw her as half dead already and she herself had accepted it and felt it in the center of her spirit but as she was a fighter she refused to simply die knowing that to do so was a blight from which she’d never recover and therefore never see her brother again. So it was with such thoughts she’d walked into the city only to be greeted by the screams of the terrified people ahead of her.

She paused and tapped her fighting gloves together as she began charging up her aura which caused her body to become wreathed in crackling waves of static electricity. Then in a pulse of energy she was off quickly encountering a pack of Beowulf that had corned a family of three in a park. What happened next they would describe saying that the tall blonde had poked at the monsters barely making contact with them before she was off once more seeking new targets then the Beowulf just stood where they were as if she’d somehow turned them all to stone.

“This was what I need” she thought as she bolted towards a Basilisk leaving behind her a tail of crackling arcs

A bolt of lightning danced across the end of Ryuu's staff as he deftly twirled the weapon in one hand before he span in an half-circle, the electrified tip slamming a beowolf into a tree before he turned again to jab the weapon into the torso of another beowolf. Lightning ripped through the grimm as it was catapulted back into a group of more beowolves, the energy arcing between them and stunning them all. Twirling his Bo staff again, he pressed a trigger on the handle two times and the cylinder on the head of the staff rotated by two notches. A vial of orange dust clicked into place and the end of the weapon burst into flames as he pressed the second trigger before it was smashed into the face mask of the nearest beowolf, the one he had slammed into a tree, leaving a nasty burn on the bone white plate. With a flurry of strikes, the soulless creature fell down, charred and lifeless as its body began to dissolve.

Deactivating the flames with another spin of his weapon, Ryuu settled into a fighting stance with one hand gripping the staff as it was tucked under his arm with the dust-chamber end away from his hand, his opposite hand stretched towards the pack of beowolves regrouping on the other side of the clearing, palm out with two fingers raised. The air around seemed to glow with a dull, almost grey light as shapes began to form around him. Two dragon wings formed on his back, a pair of horns on his head and claws over his hands as he eyes took on the same greyish glow before his wings of aura spread out to their full 5ft span.

With a slow motion, he reversed his palm upwards before flicking his fingers towards himself twice. The message was clear. The four remaining beowolves wasted no time in charging towards him, but he pressed the trigger of his staff once more and a new dust type loaded into the weapon. With another pull of the second trigger, a purple blast of energy burst around the tip of the weapon as it was rammed into the torso of the first beowolf, the Gravity dust launching back the grimm with a loud crack. Another press of triggers and a block of heavy stone shattered against the second grimm's head. The third beowolf dived at the young huntsman, only for a stone grey wing to block its claws before the grey-ish brown quickly faded to a pale white and a blast of wind tossed the canine grimm at its companions. The beowolf slammed into the first and second grimm, knocking them to the ground. They began to pull themselves to their feet, only to be floored again by their ill-fated fourth member being tossed over with a blast of wind that sliced into its blackened hide. They watched as their human enemy's wings and horns went from white to reddish orange before they tried to charge again.

A smirk slid onto Ryuu's face before he took a deep inhale, the light of his aura glowing brighter before he released the energy as a screaming roar that coalesced into a stream of flames that engulfed the charging grimm. A cacophony of pained roars chorused through the forest that fell away into silence as he halted his stream of flames. He swayed a little on his feet as his semblance faded before a set of heavy footsteps echoed though the trees and the smirk returned to his face. He flicked a switch on his staff, collapsing the 5ft weapon to 1ft long, before he placed it into a sheath on his lower back and put his hands onto his sword, one on the handle and the other on the quickdraw trigger. His thumb pressed against a small switch and a dust chamber was clicked into place on the blade...

"Took you long enough."

A large figure crashed out of the trees, and Ryuu fired the second mechanism of his Katana. A wave of Ice dust streaked towards it, leaving a frozen line across its torso as its movement slowed and became more sluggish, like a man with hypothermia. He rolled to the side as the large grimm charged past him before it stopped about 5 meters away from him. It looked like a Beowolf, but it was much larger and with more bone white plates across its dark hide. An Alpha Beowolf, an older, stronger and more deadly Beowolf, and it was glaring right at Ryuu. Slowly, he re-sheathed his weapon and entered a slight crouch, his hand resting on the handle of the katana as the two hunters stared at each other. The moment seemed to freeze in time, the two of them waiting until...

SNAP! The sound of a damaged tree giving out shattered the standoff and the two beasts charged. Ryuu's semblance flared into life, and he was suddenly behind the Alpha, sliding his partially drawn katana back into its sheath as his wings and horns faded to nothing. The soft click of metal seemed to echo across the trees as the Beowolf finally registered the damage on its body with a shattering roar of pain before the top half of its body fell away, leaving the dissolving body to fall to the ground in two separate pieces.

Ryuu managed to remain standing for a few more seconds, like a victorious samurai, before the backlash hit him like a Deathstalker on steroids and his knees gave out. Taking very deep breaths, he tried to push himself to his feet but instead only got to a sitting position. Looking over the cleared littered with still-dissolving corpses, his mind wandered back to a few hours previous.

He was knelt by a stone grave, a familiar Bo staff resting against it. No words were spoken, just quiet mourning. A clamour at the local tavern got his attention, and he went to check it out. As he drew closer, he overheard the words 'Beacon' and 'attack', his pace quickening sharply as he forced his way to the front of the crowd gathered around the large screens. He saw the news and his blood ran cold. Beacon was under attack from the Grimm. And it was chaos.

Running outside, he pulled out his scroll and immediately video-dialled his team, taking not small amount of relief when he was greeted with the familiar jade hair and forest eyes of Viridia Moss, Leader of Team VRDT and Ryuu's secret crush.

"Ryuu? Is that you?"
"Yeah, it's me Vi. Where are you, are you safe?"
"Yeah, We're all fine. We're helping with the evacuations right now..."

A burst of gunfire and shouting came though on the other end as Viridia glanced at something out of frame with worry and fear. Fear spiked through Ryuu as he tried to get her attention.

"Vi? What's happening? Vi!"

His shout apparently got her attention as she looked back to the scroll in her hand with a startled look that quickly faded to a kind of... sad acceptance. The cold blood in his veins turned to ice as she spoke.

"I never had the chance to say this before, even after two years, so I'll say it now."

A Griffon slammed into the ground behind her, but she didn't turn to face it. Instead she gave him a sad smile.

"I love you, Ryuu. Don't forget about me, okay?"

And with that, the signal disconnected. Ryuu could only stare blankly at the screen of his scroll before his hands fell to sides and he fell to his knees shortly after. He stayed like this for several minutes as some of the villagers came over to comfort him. Giving them a hollow smile, he rose to his feet and began walking towards his master's grave.

Kneeling by the stone tablet again, he let out a few pain-filled sobs.

"Damn it all. Everything's gone to hell. What would you do, Master? This student needs your guideance again..."

The click of metal against stone caught his attention as he looked up to see his master's staff fall from its place on his grave and began to roll towards him. It gently tapped against his leg, and his mild surprise gave was to a small, understanding smile. Wiping the tears from his eyes, he took the weapon with one hand, the ghostly image of his master with his hand on Ryuu's shoulder, an encouraging smile on his face, appeared in his mind's eye.

"So that's your answer... Alright. I'll fight, for what's important to me."

Ryuu drew himself out of his thoughts, looking across the ruined clearing for a second time before he drew his staff and extended it to its full length, using it to prop himself up and help him stand. Straightening to his full height, he brushed off the dirt from his robes before began to walk back into the trees, using the Bo as a walking staff as he made his way towards the next town.

A young girl with flowing pink hair stood atop a mountain of dead grimm, including a Death stalker where she was playing with the tail before she chuckled and said "I know, this is no time to sitting here but what do you expect me to do? Becon had fallen and I can't find my brother". A tail behind her flicked as to agree with her before she stood up and her 9 tails glowed before she nodded and said "Lets keep going".

With that, she pulled out her duel scythes and activated her high impact sniper Rifle to scan the area around her while also taking pot shots at other grimm that the others were fighting until she saw one girl about to charge at a Basilisk and shook her head and said "I better make sure she's ok". With that, she glowed and teleported herself behind Xander and said to her "I think taking on that grimm alone, if a bit too much for you beautiful"

Xander grinned when her partner teleported in behind her and distracted the the Basilisk by asking "I think taking on that grimm alone, is a bit too much for you beautiful" causing it to launch a jerky strike which she took full advantage of by finger punching the serpents nerve points. Each strike alone could stun any grim if struck by any fighter but Xander was different as she included in her strikes an alternating wave of heavy current which also caused her muscles to contract and expand quicker. She struck with her hands acting in mocking imitation snakes her long arms multiplying her strike energy physically and two seconds rendering the huge snake into an earthworm freshly pulled from the ground twisting its body into a tight corkscrew of pain.

She finishes by executing six backhand flips to land near Cerise and say calmly

Thanks, it’s a new top.

When are you going to put the serpent down?
with a questioning expression in her eyes like an innocent child’s

Cerise chuckled and said "oh you know, just wanted to see what you would do next partner", She winked at her before she reloaded her sniper rifle and aimed for Basliks eyes. She shot the basilks in the eyes blinding the beast and causing it to roar in pain before Cerise fired off more shots into it body and into its face before she winked at her partner and said "Do you want to finish off this beast?"

Xander sighs when Cerise just shots the poor beast and then looks her partner Well I suppose I could have done so and should have done so

I want Cinnamon buns with butter….. Still warm

The tall blond then launched herself at the snake in a sprint that ended with a diving front handspring flip to add centrifugal force to a powerful Hammer kick that could shatter concrete paving into a crater which landed with perfect timing to a weak point behind the eyes. The blow hit followed by an enormous electrical pulse that sent a rumbling clap of thunder radiating outward in a physical wave of sound. The result was brutal to see as the skull collapsed into a crater and the charge disrupted and life force left in the snake.

Finished she looks over her shoulder as she trots off asking Is your Yukata shrinking?

She accelerates towards the center of the city the smaller grimm she encounters shattered almost by her wake but actually victims of grazing attacks from a trained Bori Warrioress who felt more at home fighting than at peace.

Cerise quickly followed her teammate though she was slower without the abilty of lightning like her partner had though she caught up eventually and looked quite shocked at the carnage and destruction that was around her, she nodded to herself and stood next to her partner as one of her tail flared up as she said "So, do you want to take the ones on the left or on the right?" She winked at her partner as she said that to see what she choose to do.

Xanadu Revua

Xanadu Revua had been surprised many times in the course of her life. She had been ambushed by Grimm more times then she could count, she had been startled by hostile animals on numerous occasions, and even had a few run-ins with traveling bandits before her time at Beacon. But none of that had quite prepared her for the shock she was feeling right at that moment, as she sat in the stands of Amity Colosseum staring down at the young girl, or whatever it was, that had been ripped apart by the famed fighter Pyrrha Nikos. It was a strange kind of shock, one that Xanadu was not familiar with. It wasn't a sudden punch to the gut followed by a quick recovery. No. The shock was lasting. No matter how long she stared at the mangled up wires and metal bits, the shock just wouldn't go away. Then, the shock got worse.

A loud alarm began ringing throughout the arena, declaring its warning in a calm and cold robotic voice. A horde of Grimm were descending on Vale and Beacon, one bigger than Xanadu herself had ever heard of. It was clear to her that she needed to get off of the floating stadium as soon as she could. She needed to make sure her team was okay, and then she needed to do her part to help mankind. And with that, she sprinted out of the stands, down the stairs, and through crowds, until she finally arrived at he docks, where airships were already ready to take people back down to Beacon and Vale. However, these were not the only ships she saw. There were other ones, ones not meant for human transportation. She recognized it as some sort of cargo ship, though its presence at the school was not as shocking as the cargo she realized it was carrying: Grimm.

Xanadu took a step back at the sight of the monsters, immediately reaching behind her back to grab the Wild Shot and some bolts, only to grab nothing but air. She then realized that she had not brought them with her to the stadium, nor had she brought her battle clothing. The girl then took a few more steps back, letting out a sigh of annoyance. This was not how this day was supposed to turn out. But there was only one thing the girl could do now: fight. She withdrew her Scroll and pointed it at the spot in front of her, trying not to pay attention to a couple of Beowolves who had their eyes set on her, and pressed the button. A few moments later, a locker fell from the sky and landed where Xanadu was pointing. She quickly holstered the Scroll, before running to the locker, typing the code, and opening it, to reveal her weapon and the two quivers next to it, filled with more crossbow bolts then one could count. She wasted no time in loading the crossbow with normal bolts and fire bolts, before hastily throwing the quivers around her back.

Now, with the Wild Shot in her hands, the tables had turned. The odds weren't completely in her favor, as she was still fighting in a skirt, but she was confident enough (and she also had leggings on under the skirt, so it was okay). The huntress began to run towards the airships, as did the three Beowolves who seemed intent on eating her. Unluckily for them, they were running in a perfect row, a fact that Xanadu took advantage of by partially turning around and shooting a normal bolt at the head of the first one. The bolt, however, did not stopped. It pierced the head of the first one, before continuing to the second one, before finally hitting the last one, killing all three. When she turned back around, she saw the evacuation airship's doors closing, as well as it leaving the docks. If she stayed behind and waited for another airship to arrive, she'd be wasting time, which was not something she could do. So, with as much faith as she could muster, she ran and sprung off of the edge of the platform, traveling a number of feet through the air, before narrowly flying through the mostly closed door. Her landing, however, was not as graceful as her jump. She fell to the ground, her body limply rolling a short distance, stopping at the feet of a few surprised students.

Xanadu staggered to her feet, paying no mind to the eyes on her, and let the crossbow dangle in one hand while she pulled out her Scroll. She didn't know how to do much on the damned thing, but she knew how to text, call her locker, and call people, specifically her team. She quickly tapped a few buttons on the screen, which caused three pictures to pop onto her phone: a red haired girl with cat ears, a blonde human girl, and fox fauna with pink hair. A ringing tone sounded from the device, followed by a silence, signalling that everyone had answered. Xanadu did not wait for them to greet her, and instead began filling the silence with her own words.

"Where the hell are you guys?! Are you guys alright? Are you all together?" She yelled into the mouthpiece, turning her back to the other passengers in the airship.

"Around the initiation launch pads..." She heard chime from the the Scroll in a voice she recognized. It was her partner, Katrina Rayne, and the person on her team who she liked the most, though Xanadu would never audibly admit that she liked anything, so she expressed it as more of a tolerance. Then came another voice.

"Taking care of a serpent; where would you like to meet as soon as I finish with my present task?" It said. Xanadu quickly figured out that this was Xander, the powerhouse of the group. Xanadu enjoyed Xander's calm and serious nature, as it seemed to be a fairly compatible with her own. She was about to answer her teammate's question, when a more cheerful voice came on.

"What she means is that we are dealing with a serpent. Where should we meet up after this Grimm is dead?" It was Cerise. Cerise was, like Xanadu, a ranged fighter, but that's about where the similarities end. Where Xanadu was cold and grumpy, Cerise was happy and friendly. Where Xanadu had a sort of disdain for all people, Cerise seemed to like everyone. At first, Xanadu didn't particularly like Cerise. Well, to be fair, at first, she didn't really like any of them, but she had disliked Cerise the most. The girl was constantly annoyingly joyful, much too friendly, and, worst of all in Xanadu's opinion, Cerise was constantly flirting with her and the rest of their team. But, with time, like any fungus or mold, the pervert began to grow on her.

There was a menacing silence on the line as Xanadu thought over the question her teammates had asked. Where were they to go in a time of such desperation? After a moment, Xanadu found only one option.

"The city is under attack. Cerise, Xander, get there as soon as possible. Katrina, make your way to the front of the school. I'll try and meet you halfway, and from there we can take an airship into Vale. Cerise and Xander, I'll ask some birds to look for you once Katrina and I are in Vale." She commanded to her team.

"On my way Xana." She heard Kat say, gritting her teeth in annoyance at the nickname, though she said nothing, as she had learned that there was nothing she could do to stop her teammates from shortening her name.

On my way in a few seconds Zan. Xander said, causing Xanadu more irritation. She shrugged it off, however, and ended the call, stuffing the gadget into her pocket. She would prefer not to hear what nickname Carise had for her.

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Minutes later, the airship stopped moving, and the doors slid open to reveal chaos. Huntsmen and huntresses fought against Grimm and the White Fang, and the Atlesian Knights that were created to protect the people of Remnant were instead attacking. And in the background stood the centerpiece for all the madness: Beacon Tower. It was a sad sight, but Xanadu didn't have time to wallow. She needed to find her teammate. With that, she stepped out of the aircraft, her crossbow morphing into two smaller ones, each with three normal bolts and two fire bolts, and began running down the path in the direction of the familiar launch pads of the Emerald Forrest, shooting any Grimm that so much as looked at her.

Kat ended the call and sighed slightly.
"Still cold as always...kinda fun riling her up with shortening her name though" Kat says to herself the call from her teammate having managed to snap her out of her panic, Before she looked at the Grimm numbers between her and the front of the school and sighed.
"This is just so troublesome and annoying" Kat says in a deadpan as she starts running towards the front of the school taking out an Grimm that she saw along with helping out other students she came across.
Kat really did like her teammates though the Pervert that is Cerise she could do without, it didn't help that the Perverts partner Xander was an enabler for Cerise perverted tendencies, and then there's her own partner Xanadu their dynamics was interesting due to her being short-med range and Xanadu being long range though she did tend to call her partner Xana if only to see her partner's reactions...though she never did tell her team about her pass of being a White Fang member, Something she knew would be coming to a head.

Xander came to an abrupt stop almost in the center of a large pack of Beowulf then took on a relaxed pose as the beasts stalked towards her.

I wonder where they’re all coming from? she asked absentmindedly before lifting her left leg high and using it to hammer kick any wulf unlucky enough to come into range. Every kick lands in a shower of sparks before felling the target which twitches a few more times before falling inert.

Whoever is the cause of this needs to be staked out in the wilderness and left to the mercies of these creatures whom they’ve released on their fellows. she adds before launching herself at the remaining Beowulf.

The phone silence told Cerise that Xanadu was not interested in hearing her say anything about the mission. Out of all her teammates, Cerise sensed that Xanadu had some sort of massive problem with her and honestly it was hard to get her alone to actually ask her what she had against her. Cerise sighed before she heard what her partner said and though about it before she said "Well Lightning, I feel like it had something to do with that weird tattooed girl we saw around the Academy, her and her two teammates looked like shady people from the start and had Mrs Stubborn giving me the chance I could of spied on them" Lighting wasthe affectionate nickname she had given Xander when they first became partner and she had seen her power. Kat nickname had been Cutie, just because it was fun whenever she had called Cerise a pervert, as for Xanadu, Cerise had many different nicknames for her some which poked fun at her dirty living way or other on her stubbornness and a few on the way, she always looked at Cerise like she was some sort of Alien because of her nine tail's.
