On September 11 2001, the worst day in American history happened and the day caused the Global War on Terrorism to start. The world side with the United States against Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups. While the war on terrorism is going on, other countries become hostile to other nations. On the day when the United States declared war on terrorism, the world changed... you choose what happens.

You know this RP is based on the War on Terror, which is real. You put down real countries (like, United Kingdoms, France, etc).

I might be interested in joining as Iran and playing out a funny but obviously unrealistic scenario:

Mohammad Khatami is forced to roll back pro-democratic reforms after a huge wave of conservative and reactionary dissent arises from the people and military after Bush adds Iran to the Axis of Evil (Pretty much like reality). Unlike reality, the situation gets really bad, so bad that the Iranian government decide to 'vent' the public discontent by directing them towards a foreign foe. The Islamic Republic of Iran invades The Republic of Iraq in 2003 before the US/Coalition can, starting the Second Iran-Iraq War (Following after the 1980's conflict). The Invasion Casus Belli is essentially the same as Saddam used in the previous war in reverse, plus the existence of both Sunni terrorists and (obviously) the WMD's in Iraq that must be removed.

Opinions? Too far-fetched(Obviously)? (Or too timeline-diverting by essentially changing the entire war on terror?)

The RP's timeline will start on 2001, day after the 9/11 attacks. I like it all but, the timeline..

Looks interesting. I'd like to play Mexico but I'd have to read a ton on their contemporary history and conflicts, along with the rise of the Drug War. That or Venezuela, which I'm more familiar with but haven't paid a lot of attention to. Whichever you think would add the most to the RP is fine by me.

Also, we need a Russia but oh boy, that's too big for me.

No I would like this to be as realistic as It can be.

Decided on Mexico. Will have to do heavy reading.on Mexican politics too. At the very least I know the PRI had hegemony for a looong time until Fox came to power under the PAN. And from the little bits I've read so far, a lot of responsability from the drug violence in Mexico comes from my country... as expected.
