Who Are The Deadly 8?
I think the more useful question would be who were the deadly 8, considering all of them are deceased. By any conventional standards none of them actually exist. But I'm guessing you are the type who doesn't fall for this answer anymore. In short they are group of very powerful assasins. Said to be so good that they often kill their targets more than once, so they dont make a nasty habit of coming back.

What do they do?
What all assasins do, kill for money. Except because of them being not of the mortal world anymore, regular currency is no good to them, instead they are paid with memories something that is very valuable to those who have passed on, especially if its been a long time. Memories to an fallen being are stronger than any drug, the ability to recall times from their former life and experince them in small doses if only for a short period of time. But the cost of such rewards is very high, these asassins only take jobs of the more supernatural nature.

What's that picture of the room?
Oh well thats where you will find 7 of the 8 at any time. This might be hard to explain, but they actually all share one body, the Deadly 8 are simply all just spirit personas and can only inhabit their collective vessel one at a time. Meanwhile the other 7 relax in the 'Penthouse' which is actually a form of limbo that is just outside of the afterlife. The spirits get to enjoy expensive cocktails and jazz music while whoever is in the living vessel does all the work. They will 'swap' in and out depending on who is most useful for the situation. Terribly interesting stuff.

What are their powers?
Apart from being very skilled killers? Not much actually, you wont see too many supernatural feats from these assasins, they are very much tied to their human way of doing things. But they have the ability to kill/seal away undead spirits and etheral entities using their weapons. They are each equippied with some sort of firearm and a melee weapon. These have ability to stun, damage and ultimately kill anyone and anything of any plane of existance, but only when used together in combination.

Overview

So this is an RP where 7 of you will play the roles of dead assasin spirits who can exist in the mortal world one at time through a single body, (that changes in appearance with each spirit) while the others reside in the 'mind' of the single vessel; the limbo like 'penthouse'. This RP os obviously inspired by the smith syndicate concept of Killer7 but also draws upon more traditional ghost fiction as well as horror adventure. The theme of the protagonists is neo-noir, the penthouse is a place of conversation, dry humor, cocktails and jazz, which will all be prominent themes in this RP.

In this RP the Antagonists are as important as the Protaganists, and I'm currently working on their lore and character while recruiting for this one, so much of this is still a work in progress, but if the concept interests you, feel free to talk to me about what I'm planning and if you have any ideas.

This will be a purgatory action-horror RP, where you will take the role of an assasin who has been killed at some-point and resurrected to become a part of the 'Jones Family'. You deal with contracts of the supernatural will be ultimately be hunting the 5 (boss character) step-daughters of Calvin Corvin. Please ask me as many questions as you'd like if you are interested. This will be a very huge RP and will be adding more details as we go along.

What Haunts Me

I never meant for things to turn out this way. I want everyone who reads this, to know that despite my mistakes and horrible misjudgment that my intentions were always noble, I was just trying to do some good in the world. Me and my wife were loving, decent god fearing people. We knew the world around us was a dark and scary place so we did everything we could to lead as best an example as we could. We prayed every day, we paid our taxes, we gave to charity and we would always stand up to immoral acts. But despite all this we were never blessed with children. My wife grew up a very sickly girl and had an operation in her teens that saved her life but made it so she would never conceive children. We kept a positive attitude, but this always made our lives feel hollow and empty, we wanted children, we wanted someone to protect.

We were never poor, but we were not wealthy enough to adopt in our county, and our local orphanage was shut down shortly after we got married for reasons I'd rather not get into right now. But there was another way, another method to have children to look after that was somewhat more....ungodly. The ex priest of our local parish was thrown out of the church because of his practice of the dark arts, but my wife and I stayed in contact with him. As we found it hard to turn our back on the man who married us. He always knew of our desire to be parents and he came to us with an offer. He could place children in our care....that had already died.

His plan was twisted but tempting, he said that he could use his dark arts to resurrect children's spirits that had their lives cut unfortunately short and bring them back to life for a second chance at happiness, with me and my wife as their loving guardians. We knew this was incredibly dangerous and strange but our desire to be parents overwhelmed us, and we accepted his offer. Sadly I cant go into the details of what happened after that, its simply too painful. But I will say that we made a mistake, those children should have never been brought back to life. They belonged in the afterlife and we unleashed a great evil on the mortal world. My 5 daughters, who I gave my life to, have left my care and now are loose in the world, not quite mortal and not fully spirits they occupy a strange place in limbo that only the resurrected may inhabit. They are all extremely dangerous and they need to be sealed away, otherwise they will destroy the mortal plane from the ether, and my soul will never be able to rest.

Marina

Her Adventure

Name: Marina Corvin

Age: 19

Method and Year of Death: Starved to death in 1988

Marina was the second oldest child of the 5 Corvin girls, and was the most imaginative. Although racism was becoming far less of a in the late 80s than it was during Calvin's time, being a Half Japanese Half Jewish Adoptee isnt an easy start for anyone in suburban Rhode Island. Marina knew she was an outcast and instead found beauty and solace in her books. Where she could truly escape the lonliness she endured in real life. Although this began as obsessive reading, she then began to act out her fantasies and would dress up like a gothic maiden and run through the forest, singing beatuifully about her fictional world, completely immeresed in her own world.

Unfortunately once she was spotted by some teenagers from her class while they were out drinking and getting high, and they started to make fun of her, first with words but then with rocks and thrown garbage. Her perfect world of escapism was shattered, so she ran as fast as she could, deeper into the forest than she had ever been. Until she tripped on a large tree root in the middle of the forest and it sent her hurtling into a natural ditch. The space looked like some sort of fantasy cave complete with pillar like rocks and a very beautiful canopy. Sadly the fall broke her leg, and the ditch was very deep. She wasn't able to make it out of there and over the span of 8 agonising days she starved to death, quietly singing the song of her fantasy world as she passed away,

Ressurected she now follows runaway teenagers, to make sure wherever they go, they are never found again.

Name: Shawna Corvin

Age: 21

Method and Year of Death: Drowning in 1967

Shawna was the oldest child of the 5 Corvin girls, and was the most energetic. Calvin noted she was a very motivated and active girl, which he often thought was a good thing, because of her beauty and charisma she would often convince others to take up physical hobbies and to stay in shape. But this would be to a fault. Shawna was a sailor's daughter from sunny california who spent almost all of her time at the beach or the mall. On holiday she would always try out a new physical challenge such as skiing or hiking and was instantly adept at anything she tried. Because of her beauty many boys would attempt to impress her with feats of physical prowess but this only served her competetive spirit. One day at the beach she convinced a group of boys to race her out to the middle of the ocean and back, her amazing swimming skills proved impressive but two of the boys were on the local swimming team and were able to win the close race. She couldnt believe it, and challneged them both to a rematch, but this time while flirting with them drugged both of their drinks so they would swim slower on the next race. The drugs were too powerful though and not only did the boys slow down they lost their ability to swim and began sinking in the water, Shawna began to laugh as she over took them but as they both realised they were drugged and were going to drown from her dirty trick they both grabbed her as they began to submerge with all their remaining strength. While she was strong, the combined wieght of them drug her down into the watery depths, and all 3 of them drowned that day.

After her ressurection Shawna escaped Calvin's care to become a serial killer who would engineer 'accidents' in sports and extreme hobbies, to make sure no one would ever 'win' in ways that she couldn't.

Where Is Love?

Name: Dolores 'Dolly' Corvin

Age: 16

Method and Year of Death: Falling to Death in 1912

Dolly was the 2nd youngest child of the 5 Corvin girls, and in her own warped way, the most loving. Calvin raised her as best as he could and would stress the importance of empathy and care. But his efforts ultimately did not have the desired effect, her problem was loving too much. But in a selfish way. Dolores was originally a young middle class girl from nantucket who had a very dangerous crush on her teacher. After failing to get his attention multiple times with love letters, she finally got his attention by trapping all the teachers in the school after the children had left and setting the building on fire, with him in it. As he passed out from the fumes, Dolly carried him up the stairs to the top floor of the school and declared her love for him by screaming it out to the horrified townspeople trying to contain the now engulfing fire. At this moment the young teacher woke up in Dolly's arms and shoved her in shock and fear, which unintentionally lead her to tumble out of the large window and fall to her death. Once she was brought back into Calvin's care, she would obtain terrifying powers as an expert stalker. Killing those who would ignore or reject statements of love from admirers.

Method and Year of Death: Car Crash in 2007

Middle child Riley was always very confident, but it wasn't the healthy confidence, it was the obsessive, narcisstic fragile confidence that usually came with insecurites. While she was a fairly attractive girl she wasn't as attractive as her sisters, and more importantly wasn't the most attractive girl at her school. But Riley was pragmatic, she did her best to adopt a look that best suited her, she would work on her personality and self image almost obsessively, she would be the ultimate teenager, the alpha female of the school.

But for Riley, Narcissim was a blackhole she was never going to be satisfied by the approval she was getting, she needed more. She needed to be the center of even more attention than she ever had. So she decided to throw a party, she wanted to be the ultimate number one host. The problem was, for her to get the best crowd she would have to invite the most popular and pretty girls in the school, which made her dreadfully self concious, as she didnt want to be upstaged. But she went ahead with it anyway, and the party was looking to be a success, while people were showing up she was still at her house making herself look as amazing as possible. She was running late because of how long she spent.

Once in her car and on the road, she started speeding, panicing that she was going to look unorganised, but as she panicked she started to sweat, which had he constantly checking herself in her hand mirror as she drove, it wasnt long before her neglegence to watch the road and her speeding caused her to crash into a truck, she was killed instanly, only 3 mins away from the party venue.

As a spirit, she now stalks glamorous women at parties and events, killing those she finds prettier than she is.

He was writing his own poetry at the age of 16, and he wrote his first novel at the age of 20. Bringing it to a publisher, Randy found that they loved whatever he wrote, and so, began his nine-year career of writing.

However, Randy's romanticism was also his downfall. He had a bad habit of romancing married women, which he wasn't to blame for. It wasn't his fault that they were discontented with their marriage. This habit lead to a very fast-paced series of events in the last year of his life in which he had to learn how to fight, in order to defend himself from his former lovers' ex-husbands. He did fairly well, but the last ex managed to break into his house and stab him to death with his own pen. Most of his lovers went to his funeral, and there was a fairly massive turnout, including family and friends. Now he waits in the penthouse for a job, and chats it up with his companions.

Unfair trade and civil war ravaged the lands and many found themselves without food, nor a means to provide for themselves. Perhaps YingKai was lucky that he outlived his parents, or else he might have had to suffer the fate of being sold by them for a morsel of food. As an orphan on the streets, YingKai pulled rickshaws to survive, though the owner of the rickshaw took most of his pay. One day, as he pulled a portly English merchant and his daughter, he heard the words that changed his life forever, "Papa, I want one!" The merchant obliged his daughter and paid the rickshaw owner a meager sum for possession of YingKai, whom his daughter found 'cute, like a porcelain doll'. He was whisked away to their opulent manor in England where he was trained to be a butler and to be the merchant's daughter's companion and plaything. They even started calling him 'Charlie Chong'. He lived with the family for several years, growing close to them; they became the abusive family he never had. In particular, he developed a close, love-hate, abusive-dependent relationship with the daughter, who was several years older than him, and ever-ready to belittle him for his inadequacies: real or imagined. As she eventually became a lady, her interest in him had dwindled considerably; she was interested in men, not dolls and boys. Nicholas "Nick" Jones

Method of Death: Ambushed, stabbed multiple times, and shot once in the head.

Bio: Nick grew up in the middle of the city of Brooklyn, living in a rundown apartment with his mother. His father had left when he was just a kid, with his mother always telling him how his daddy was a ‘no-good drunkard.’ The family didn’t have much money at all, and when Nick was still young he started doing some work here and there for the local mob, which made their presence very known. What started off as simple distractions and theft turned into coercions and interrogations, and when Nick was seventeen he beat a man to death with a lead pipe. It just so happened that the man he killed was a high priority target for the mob, and the leader took a shine to him and finally gave him a position beyond lackey. He saw greatness in Nick, whose sheer level of greed, shrewdness, and ambition at a young age suggested he would get far in the life of organized crime.

Years passed and Nick ventured through the glamorous highs and the brutal lows of gang life with ease, eventually becoming the second-in-command of the mob. He sent some money home to his mother and spent the rest on drinks, smokes, women, and weapons. And the whole time he was plotting the murder of the leader himself – and pinning the blame on some lower ranked nobodies. It worked without a hitch, and Nick finally accomplished his goal of leading what was now one of the most prominent gangs in the state. And he wanted it to be one of the greatest in the country.

For several years Nick ruled with an iron fist and a constant reach towards more power, becoming feared by many, including the ones who used to look down on him. But Nick’s reign of power came to an end one airy spring morning when he went to go confirm a deal that promised him considerably more influence. His arrogance and lust for power stopped him from seeing the warning signs, and upon arriving at the meeting point he was stabbed multiple times and finally shot in the head by some lowlifes whose lives he had ruined.

Method of Death: Bludgeoned to death
Bio: William was frail as a child, and often sick. He was asthmatic and had several allergies, leading to a childhood spent indoors and a frail constitution. His parents loved him despite his weaknesses, but they were rather poor and William's constant hospital trips were almost more than they could handle. His father was an ex-soldier turned car mechanic and his mother worked several jobs but they only barely managed a living. They wanted William to have as much of a normal life as he could, but that just wasn't possible with the limited resources they had, so they had to make do. The only thing that brought him relief from his symptoms was his father's old gas mask, which he took to wearing everywhere he went (unless he was eating of course). With it on he could at least go outside for a little while and not get sick. But with all the things they did, William could tell that they suffered for it. Eventually, when thought he was old enough, he ran away from home. There weren't many that would take in such a strange child and he drifted for a time before a small street gane in New York took him in. While their reputation wasn't exactly clean, it was essentially a group of misfits and for the first time, William felt like he fit right in. Despite his frail body he soon figured out how to help his new friends. He helped in the background, sabotaging enemy supplies and using his small body to spy on them from odd places. But no matter how much he tried, he was never that much of a fighter. This led to his death when an infiltration mission went wrong and he was found out. Despite being caught he never caved in and was eventually killed with his own weapon, a tire iron.

The Sinner

Name: Abigail “Abbey” Jones

Bio: Abbey found herself raised rather easily. As an only child, she lived just on the edge of rural and suburban parts of Wyoming. Brought up as the daughter to a pastor, Abbey lived her life out within the church of her father. She was extremely sheltered throughout her life there. Schoolwork and housework were topping the charts of her main activities, but Abbey didn’t know any other style of life, so she rarely complained. Religion was obviously a very important part of her family’s lifestyle. This led to Abbey herself, being very cultivated by the Christian ideology. Abbey’s father was the most prominent figure in raising her. He ruled strictly, but with a soft hand. He preached great morals of saving your fellow man despite your differences. This principles led his daughter’s life. She was forgiving and friendly to all above all else.

This quaint and quiet life lasted until Abbey hit the age of seventeen. The normality of her life was interrupted by a spree of crime rampant throughout her hometown revolving around a large group of protesters against the hypocrisy of the current government officials. Heavy police forces were brought in in order to satiate the unrest, but this only led to more chaos in the streets. Abbey and her family were careful not to be caught up in such matters, but when a ragged young man clad in black clothing came to the church asking for sanctuary, Abbey’s father immediately took him in. Careful to keep Abbey away from him, her father fed and housed the man throughout the chaotic night, but it is well known that keeping a teenager from her curiosity is a difficult task. Abbey and the boy eventually met and started to grow close over the next few days. Coming from two extremely opposing lifestyles, they found curiosity and solace in each other, but the peace within the church did not last the few days. Less than a week after taking the man in, Abbey’s father discovered that he was a prominent criminal in the protests and had committed a great deal of crimes.

In attempts to remove the sinful man from his church, Abbey’s father reached out to the police, but his daughter was not quite ready to give in to the authorities she had recently heard so much about from her new companion. She hid him within the church as long as she could, but the officers grew impatient, promptly deciding to disregard the moral issues of raiding a church. In the rampant confusion, Abbey once more tried to protect her friend by assisting him in fleeing. With police now seeming to turn on her, the two ended up fleeing together. With her newfound friend, Abbey had to leave her home. Thinking she would only be gone for a few days, she soon discovered that her actions were irrevocable and classed her in with a fugitive. Abbey took to living with her new friend, and she found herself living a completely different life with what might be considered a terrorist group of insurgents. She was trained to become like them, though she never gave up her principles. Despite her new outcast nature, Abbey upheld and taught morality to those she found herself in company of.

She found herself living the life of an insurgent for nearly a year after that day, but her longing for home couldn’t be held in forever. She had to return home, and was presented with a brilliant opportunity as her cell was moving right near her hometown. Against the wishes of her friend and new family, Abbey returned to the church, her friend accompanying her for protective purposes. Upon arrival, the warm greeting that Abbey was expecting was revealed to be a near opposite of what occurred. Her father intended to hold her and turn her in to pay for her sins. A struggle turned into a fight, and the police were notified and on their way not long after her arrival. What was a mere family fight turned into a hostage situation as Abbey and her friend won the struggle and were now trapped. With police surrounding them, a negotiator was sent in, and this particular man happened to be a prominent enemy of Abbey’s organization. With her cell having heard of the action, they took the opportunity to set the church ablaze, opting to sacrifice two of their members to take out the powerful police figure. Unfortunately, the police were not prepared for such an event. As firemen sifted through the ashes of the church they discovered all four bodies. There were no survivors...

I should just say that writing those girls gave me nightmares and contributed to the reason why it took me so long to get this RP going in the first place. :O

Probably Tabby just because of the face. I'm honestly more sympathetic to the sisters, strange as that sounds.
