The world of Fortus has forever been seen as a world gifted with prosperity. Human evolution, in all of its brilliance, had reached it's near peak over the course of time. Building up in civilization, humans created and adapted technology to help them in their everyday needs. However, even humans of Fortus are prone to warfare and technology was no exception to it. During the year 2167 R.C., a group of scientists, engineers and mechanics from different parts of the world created the first mechanized assault suit. They were called “Valkinai Suits” named after Professor Valkinai who headed the project. This suits were meant for exploration of the oceans and dealing with areas that hazardous to humans.
Around the same time, the country of Licentia and the land of Priscus united under one banner and formed “The United Nations Federation” or “UNF” for short. Together, with the technology created by Professor Valkinai, they charged themselves with world peace and began fortifying their army with these bipedal robot suits. However, in the year of 2174 R.C., many incidents of people committing acts of violence toward the UNF started to trinkle in. One large group of offenders started calling themselves “The Ordo Sanctus”.
The Ordo Sanctus felt that the UNF was made on corruption and deceit and should be punished for their misdeeds. A respected diplomat by the name of Fadio Ginsburg saw the corruption first hand. After many shady and unclear dealings, Fadio, who was a front runner and looking to take a seat in the UNF council, disappeared from the ballot and not even given proper representation. He was furious with this and said he would declare war. This was thought to be just a mere threat from a lone man but this man became the leader of the Ordo Sanctus.
At the moment, the UNF see no threat in this terrorist group and are dealing with them with minimal effort. Time will tell where that may lead. As we approach the beginning of a new year, where and how this conflict ends, is now up to you.

Welcome to the world of Valkyrie Theory! A place where your dreams can come true! Or at least you can try. This is a world that I have built with the help of my dear friends and now I want to bring it to you. This came about when we all wanted to have fun stomping around in mecha but we did not want to simply role play as preexisting characters in a preexisting world. Enter Valkyrie Theory.
Below are the descriptions of the areas in Fortus. Please reference these for places you wish to make for your character background.
Licentia Country: A country made of opportunities and freedoms. It was built upon barren ground many years ago, settled by a group of individuals and became a powerful country in no time. Many centuries has passed and their technological prowess is quite advance, making things in normal everyday life simple. Despite this, they are not the most advanced country in the world, and thus still have many “primitive” technology scattered about. They even have their own branch of the UNF Headquarters.
Speria City: A big city with loads of opportunities. Many people from across the world gather here for various reasons. If you want to see the wealth of this nation, this is the place to be.
The UNF Headquarters Licentia Branch: The Licentia branch of the United Nations Federation. It's a lot smaller than the main branch but it is just as prestigious.
Priscus Country: The largest and oldest country on Fortus. Here is where the UNF Headquarters is located. Many buildings, high and low, of all shapes and sizes. Toward the outer fringes of the country, lies lower villages that survive on scrap from the cities. Despite some city and town looks, it is a very prosperous country. People born here are usually of nobility or from a great family name. They support the UNF.
Opes: A nobler city with history dating back 1,000 years. Many bureaucrats and government officials live here nowadays. Beneath the jade and gold, however, lies some rot and decay and even such a pleasant area like this holds dark secrets. Tread cautiously.
The City of Regalis: An old city that still stands among the common era. Enhanced by technology, this classic looking city feels fit for anyone with passion, intelligence and status.
Quas Palace: A former palace of the King of Priscus. During an intense battle, it was damaged heavily and now lies abandoned. It serves as a constant reminder of the past.
Congelo Country: A country known for their harsh winters, Congelo is one of the lower countries. It's very primitive, having to do a lot of work by hand or relying on fossil fuel to power their transportation and living conditions. Congelo is located toward the northern pole of the the world and is about average size compared to other countries.
Concilio City: Factories around every turn. Churning melting steel along with the clanking of old machines creating new weapons of war and attempting a better life. This City is a sign of how much Congelo, as a nation has to go. The fires of creating keep the place warm enough not to freeze over at night but is still dangerous to not wear warm clothes.
Navitas: One of the better cities in Congelo. Surrounding the city is a dome like structure to prevent the harsh cold winter from getting in. Rumor has it that members of the Ordo Sanctus are hiding out here.
Inops Country: A country that is notably the smallest of all the countries. Despite it's size, the people of this country have produced many great technological achievements. Many scientists, engineers and mechanics work on experimental Valkinai Suits here for how separated from the rest of the world it is. They have a small militia to protect the secrets held here.
Scientia: A city devoted to the creation of new science. Even the simplest of machines has to do with something scientific. Many of the scientists that worked on the first Valkinai Suit reside here.
Unus Town: this city is small but is heavily protected. Less of a town and more of a fortress. This city is also the home of the Inops Militia.

Valkinai Information:
Since Valkinai Suits are in the beginning stage of being used for combat. They are not ultra awesome looking suits yet. They were only most recently used for all forms of combat so that being said I have chosen the bases of each type of Valkinai Suit.
The first is the Small size. This one is only about 35 feet high max. It's main purpose would be it's speed and recon but some still use it for head on offense purposes. It's not recommended, however, for the durability of smaller size Valkinai wouldn't last long in a one on one fight. To help with this, it uses energy more efficiently and last longer than other types.
The second is the Medium size. This is the most common of the Valkinai types, standing at 75 feet max. They are the most versatile and are commonly used on front lines. There have been those, however, who adapt for stealth missions. The drawback with this type is they are not really strong in any particular area on their own. For them to have any specific trait they need to be customized for the situation. Such a trait can be seen as a weakness but also a strength.
The last type is the Large size. This type is the most durable of the three and also known for having the most power. It stands at 150 feet at the max but, it is very slow and takes a lot of energy to even move effectively. Pilots must be cautious when using this type of Valkinai.
Customization can be made to each of these types. From color and style, to weapons and accessories, you can adjust these basic makes for your play style and character. Eventually, the technology used will become more advance and you will be able to upgrade your Valkinai to become even stronger. Whether that time is sooner or later depends on your play style and the choices you make.

Valkinai Specialties:
Certain Valkinai have specific abilities that only that type has. It can be as simple as increase boost in speed to something right out of a graphic novel like transformation. You get to choose which of these specialties you will have but you may only choose one. If fortune favors you, you may be in position to receive another specialty. Remember, your choices impact you and the people around you.
Speed Boost: Though at first a simple concept, it is actually a worthwhile skill. With speed boost, you have three extra levels of speed that you can reach. The best part of it is that it does not take as much energy as it would normally to do this, optimizing the energy usage so that only 50% is used instead of 75%. But, use the speed boost wisely, if you use it three times in succession it could have the reverse effect and take more than you wanted. Think carefully and use this skill wisely if you choose.
Assault Barrage: The Assault Barrage specialty allows you to fire off multiple beams/bullets at once in a unrelenting onslaught. This specialty also allows you to lock on to multiple targets, whether they be in the air, on land or anything in between. It is very effective against large forces or when trying to overwhelm a single target. However, in order for this specialty to be used efficiently, the Valkinai must remain stationary until the barrage is complete. If you move while using the Assault Barrage, you will lose accuracy and the amount of shot fired will lower, since energy will be dispersed by moving as well. Assault Barrage can only be used twice per battle before a recharge is necessary.
Sensor Dampener: The Sensor Dampener allows the user to disable the opponents sensors, appearing virtually invisible to them. This is optimal if you wish to take out your targets quickly and without being seen. It works best in high coverage areas, at night or underwater but during the day with no cover at all it's effects are weaker. Your opponent will see you but you will still be able to through off things like the target system. The duration for Sensor Dampener is 4 posts.
Energy Shot: The Energy shot is one of the more versatile of specialties. It allows you to concentrate 50% of your energy into either your weapon or a specific body part for a large scale attack. Examples of such are: if you have a beam rifle it will shoot farther and have a wider range of effect or if you charge your hand you would be able to rip through the strongest of metals with ease. However, this is a one shot ditch effort. If you miss, you'll be out of 50% energy and won't be able to use it again until you recharge. Use it carefully and don't try to be the hero.
Transformation: Finally, we have Transformation. This is rather simple. It is the ability for your Valkinai to transform into any vehicle you so choose. It can be anything from a car, a boat, a jet to even a motorcycle if it is small enough. It takes 25% energy to use but you can stay transformed as long as you wish and it does not take energy to change back. However, what you can transform into is limited at the start. As you increase in level, and depending on your size, you’ll be able to change into a tank or something as big as you cannot transform into more than one thing. This is meant for those who wish to either be close to their Valkinai or so they can use it in more situations.

Ranking: The ranking system functions the same as a normal military but slightly simplified seeing as I don't believe we'll have over 10,000 players here. Regardless, it'll run like this.

Captain commands the Squad, Major commands the Platoon, General commands the Company and the Commander commands the entire army. If you are a rank with such a title, you will even be able to name the unit you command. This does NOT apply to the Commander for he Commands the entire force (i.e. UNF itself). The rank of General and Commander are taken by NPCs but if things change later on, these spots will be open.
Promotions WILL be granted, but must be earned and, again, your choices will largely help that. For promotions, you must impress your commanding officer enough and do deeds that show your skill. The Co-GM and I will keep an eye on your activity and will communicate with you when you can be promoted. Do NOT ask about promotions to the GM and Co-GM themselves. It will be unbiased and everyone will have a fair chance.

Now for the most important thing here: The rules! Most are basic and common sense rules but I will put them down so no one is confused.
No powerplay or Godmodding – Play fair, be nice, all that jazz.
No killing someone's character without permission – This links in with rule 1, but killing off another person's character without the player's consent is a big no no.
No Double Posting – Only if the situation demands may you post twice in a row
No more than 2 characters per player – You are only allowed to create and play as two different characters. These characters are NOT allowed to interact with each other in anyway.

As evidence of a vigorous (if not obsessive) training regime, Elyot's body is muscled and well chiseled, shown only on those rare occasions in which he strips his armor off. His skin literally sparkles and shines like a mofo some how though (he claims its been passed down through the many generations of his family). No one knows his hair or eye color as no one has ever seen him with his helmet off, refusing to take it off even for official photos leading to some striking if not memorable fashion crimes.
Clothing:
Elyot wears only full plate, knightly armor made of lightweight alloys as to not be too heavy and allowing him freedom of unencumbered movement. Occasionally he will change out his under armor and tabard and other cloth fixtures to clean and change colors but is otherwise only seen in armor even when he sleep. When he does strip off his armor, he will always keep his helmet and refuses to take it off.
Personality:
Honor, Courage, Bravery, Chivalry, Loyalty. These are the words that Elyot lives by or tries to. He sees himself as a modern knight, a noble role model for all as he lays down the awe inspiring barrage of ordnance and firepower over his booming, inspiration voice. He is a paragon of virtue, a champion of chivalry, a gentleman of elegance, and a knight of honor.
To just about everyone else, he's a mildlyVERY delusional mech pilot with a large weapon and armor fetish and doesn't known the meaning of silence or subtly. His mental condition might not be the most stable, but Elyot is well received due to his unwavering loyalty and dauntless fearlessness, willing to undertake even the most suicidal mission for his "Lord". The fact that he can pilot a Large mech with more firepower than should really be legal is always welcomed. Also follows some weird low-key cult of sun worshipping which he is incessant on praising. However, there are those who speculate that Elyot's quirks in fact conceal something else about him with the man refuses to speak of and that his current "persona" has been crafted as a response to some past trauma; wether he created on purpose or unconsciously is a question with answers unknown.
In accordance with his gentlemanly hobbies and culture knightly free time activities, Elyot plays a mean Kazoo and is learning the Contrabass Didgeridoo in Q# and the Wombat. (He refuses to accept the claims that didgeridoos aren't in contrabass or that Q# is a real scale. He also refuses any claims of harming said musical Wombat stating that its a symbiotic relationship.)
History:
Despite his cheery and bold nature, Elyot's history is actually shrouded in mystery. He claims that he hails from an ancient bloodline full of noble warriors and leaders and was born in a village called Athel Loren. However, the legitimacy of this claim is questionable as there is no recorded village called "Athel Loren" with the closest being a small town called Athor in Licentia that was previously wiped out by an unknown force but Elyot denies that he is from Licentia. There's also the issue that there is literally no one with a name as long as his, never mind his actual heritage.
Any attempts to deduce his past, even by military officials have been met with stiff resistance on Elyot's part to the point they've basically stopped caring about it. This is largely in part due to his skill and actions on the battlefield where he's proven himself to be an excellent soldier whose been on multiple campaigns and battles; his leadership abilities leave something to be desired however.
His combat style switches between long range artillery and going in and tanking for others while causing one hell of a mess in close combat to "prove his strength at arms" with him generally favoring the latter. Its also for this reason why Elyot wishes for some sort of Valkinai melee weapons so he can "best his opponents in honorable one on one combat and end them rightly". Basically he's close range "fuck shit up" support.

Valkinai Suit Name: THE TITAN INVICTUS (Elyot insists on it being in all caps) Valkinai Appearance: The TITAN INVICTUS is a brilliant red with ivory-colored and dark steel detailing/highlights. Its pilot has added hanging knightly banner between its legs with the words "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus" on it along with Elyot's (handdrawn) "house crest" and two shield-like decortaional plate on on either side of the center body. Physical Appearance: Michi is not particularly physically prepossessing, standing a diminutive five foot three, and whipcord-lean rather than bulking with muscle. Svelte and trim thanks to the rigours of military life, she still carries the first bloom of youth and vitality.
Her face is fine-boned and sharp, with spectacular cheekbones and a pointed, elfin chin - as though generations of good breeding have come to their natural culmination and then progressed slightly further. She is not beautiful in the conventional sense – ‘striking’, instead, might be a better term. Pale-skinned, her Cupid’s bow lips stand out in an otherwise-bloodless aristocratic face, always painted a rich crimson, and her deep-set green eyes burn brightly, quick and darting and missing little. Pale blonde eyebrows arch dramatically, often raised in sardonic question, and her hair is currently a thick and lustrous matching shade – although kept severely in check in military braids, the gold beads which weight each of them gleaming brightly.
Clothing: When not in uniform, itself quite a rare sight, Michi favours darker shades and conservative styles; sweeping formal gowns if the occasion demands it, otherwise carefully-cut blouses, riding breeches and leather shin boots polished to a liquid mirror-shine. Her clothes might be the finest tailoring and from the best couturiers, but they are understated and subtle, drawing the eye with quality rather than ostentation. She is from old money and with an old, old name; posturing and overt displays of wealth are unnecessary, the province of the nouveau riche. That said, however, she has a strong fondness for black opals, wearing them as earrings wherever possible. She also possesses a Maganza signet ring on the little finger of her left hand, etched with the family crest and which she has a habit of playing with when nervous or deep in thought.
Personality: Michi is calm and serious, and can appear as reserved or stand-offish. She often tries to get the measure of people before committing herself further, and her upbringing was heavy on etiquette and light on spontaneity. She enjoys strategy and tactics both on and off the battlefield, and despite knowing that no plan survives contact with the enemy, Michi still takes pleasure in the order inherent in a plan of battle.
Michi is a woman of firm opinions, and is not afraid to debate – vigorously – with those who might disagree. The scion of House Maganza, it is perhaps unsurprising that she reflexively defends the institution of the aristocracy and displays a quiet but unwavering loyalty to Crown and Country. Off duty, she is something of a bon vivant, enjoying hunting, riding and the finer things in life; she has a pair of exquisite self-opening shotguns for the express purpose of enjoyment, rather than for self-defence, for example, and is a champion champagne-drinker.
She doesn’t use her titles – Marquise of the Reach, Countess Xantal and Viscountess Allansdale – as a general rule whilst on military service; as a soldier, runs her thinking, the military rank must take precedence over social station. Only the most formal of social occasions might persuade her otherwise, and then only temporarily.
History: The scion of laurelled House Maganza, one of the pillars of Priscus, Michi was always destined for at least some time in the military. The Dukes of Arcadia for centuries have sent their heirs and spares into the armed forces, to win glory for the Crown and lands, titles and wealth for themselves, and this tradition continues through to the present day. Where other great houses of Priscus have become lax, preferring high finance for their precious children, House Maganza still sends its own out to get shot at in the name of character-building, instilling discipline and getting into good habits that will serve them well in later life. Whilst her class and coursemates prepared for gap years, sabbaticals and world cruises to ‘find themselves’, Michi was preparing for her own rite of passage; the start of military officer training and its gruelling physical and mental challenges.
The Royal College, as it had with many other Maganza graduates down the centuries, refined Michi in its crucible, burning away the dross and leaving a gleaming, newly-minted lieutenant to face the world with a professional smile and smoking gun.
In Michi’s particular case, a very large gun indeed; she demonstrated a particular affinity for – and aptitude with – heavy gunnery and the myriad inventive uses for artillery bombardment. By her own admission, she’d much prefer to be parked a long way from the actual fighting and rain down death from afar – hence why her Valkinai is so optimised for long-range engagements.

Pilot Suit Appearance: Michi’s suit is, perhaps unsurprisingly, skintight and designed to provide absolute freedom of movement. It is also exceptionally good at wicking sweat and heat away from her, vital for keeping her in tip-top condition in her cramped and often-airless cockpit deep in the heart of the Kaiserin. It is white, in keeping with the current paint job of her Valkinai, with a subtle hexagonal pattern in silver glittering in the light – the exchange surfaces which keep her cool. Her rank flashes remain exactly the same as they do in uniform.

Valkinai Suit Information
Valkinai Suit Name: Kaiserin
Valkinai Appearance: A hundred and fifty feet tall, the Kaiserin is – according to Michi – a walking ammunitions dump, being mostly filled with high-explosive and incendiary shells, racks of missiles, miles of gas-expander bullets and other means of dealing death and destruction on a grand scale. It uses its great mass and wide-set feet to absorb the shock of its enormous artillery battery firing, becoming a stationary gun platform of frightening power when switching to rapid continuous fire, raining down a hail of shells at long range that few can survive.
It is currently mostly a blank white, although a crown and the name Kaiserin is emblazoned in ornate script across its frontal armour. Its main weapon is the colossal articulated Hellbore battery, capable of going from near-vertical to horizontal fire, depending on requirements; the enormous barrels dominate the Kaiserin’s central core and her profile in general.
