Also, Foster, as your Senpai, a Bogey in aviator slang is an Unidentified Object and potentially hostile aircraft. Admittedly frames aren't airborne, but I'd assume they adopted Aviator lingo, as well as a similar cult of personality owing to them seeing themselves as being on the cutting edge, much as Pilots did in the early days of aviation (and how many still do)

No he just comes off very much as an Aviator sort to me, he's got the glasses, the jacket, the borderline alcholism (Is it borderline?) add too that he's the only Heterosexual Ghost and I just naturally made the connection, the flyboy personality, and love of cars (This might just be my own stereotyping of pilots and too much top gun)

Well, he's definitely stereotypical, and by design, too. I thought it was most obvious with the name; one which sounds ridiculously action-heroish in English subs/dubs but which Japanese people watching the original series (if this was a series) would have no problem with. Because lol gratuitous Engrish. Troy Bandit would be up there with the Rex Colts, Snake Pliskins, and Ash Williamses of the world, at least in terms of naming conventions.

The glasses were only because he has them in all the screenshots from the anime he's from, so I didn't really have a choice in eyewear or the lack thereof. As for the rest of it, yeah, the machismo is what makes 80s/90s anime great. Ain't no fucking skinny, shrimpy, otaku-self-insert-wish-fulfillment "black swordsmen" here!

No, but her character is pretty much unrecognizable from SEED because of issues the head writer had with the VA. She becomes a total pushover and a crybaby worse than early Kira, and by the end of Destiny she and Athrun are pretty much broken up.

Yeah all joking aside I was more of a Cagalli fanboi myself, (Seed, not Destiny, never finished it) even as a little kid Flay came off as a bit psychologically abusive of Kira...
Still hated the pink one, great singing voice though, I'll give her that.
