Enemy Without, Enemy Within...
A WH40K Ecclesiarchy RP
A WH40K Ecclesiarchy RP
Accepting new players
Summary:
- A jaunt of daring and do within the Warhammer 40,000 universe and setting.
- Characters can come in most shapes and sizes, their age, experience and so forth pretty much up to the participant; that being said, I will immediately reject any God-like beings or over the top characters. (Yes, even Astartes can be over the top sometimes!)
- Violence is mandatory, but don't overdo it.
- Our tale takes place in the most up-to-date period of 40K time line, at the beginning of the 42nd Millennium.
- I do not require perfect grammar, nor character sheets as long as my arm, but what I do require is effort put into both CS's and IC posts. Keep them a decent – or above decent – length, and make sure spelling etc is up to snuff. Not hard with a Spell-checker.
- The Sororitas are the best-of-the-best in Human terms, but even they are ultimately mortal, so I want to see some grit and 'realism' in this – no one running off on their own, no overkill, and so on.
- Character sheets will be accepted based on merit alone, the more odd/powerful your character, the more exceptional your character sheet will need to be.
- I fully expect, and intend, for characters to evolve over time during this RP. An example might be that someone loses a limb and seeks a bionic replacement, whether they get one will be both up to me as GM and the participants as a whole; character sheets will then be edited to show any changes, as with a TT role-playing game, and just remember that every action will likely have some form of reaction.

In Character Info:
The Librae Sector is a collection of several star systems located within the Segmentum Pacificus, a region of space settled in the distant and dark years of blood and unbelief that wracked the 36th Millennia, a tract of space between the Sabbat Worlds and Halo Stars that contains millions of citizens and half as many planets upon which they nestle; the Taniea Sub-Sector is one of these areas, comprising of nearly two dozen worlds of varying types, sizes, populations and a united belief in the God-Emperor of Mankind, and is also home to an especially active Order Militant of the Adepta Sororitas.
The Order of Our Thrice-Pierced Martyr are an offshoot, an Order Minoris, of the Order of Our Martyred Lady; originally founded as a purely militant Order, they have throughout their centuries long protection and service to the Taniea worlds divided even further, maintaining their primary Preceptory and strongest garrison on Taniea Primus – an Order Militant of some hundreds of Sisters – while 'seeding' the sub-sector with members of their closely linked Hospitaller branch (Order of the Transfixed Saint), and their representatives of the Dialogous & Famulous (Order of the Thrice-Fold Tongue).
Having served the Emperor in relative peace for quite some time, it is an unexpected visit from an Inquisitorial representative that rouses Canoness-Preceptor Aubrie Temperance, and with her the entire Order, into action.
In the hallowed halls of the Preceptory the Inquisitor, a stern and grey-haired man by the name of Leland Kliment, and the Canoness-Preceptor meet. It is revealed he requires a handful of the possible strength that the Order Minoris could bring to bear, a group drawn from the Preceptory and more junior branches of it, Sisters skilled in arms, in languages and beyond. According to Kliment it was a minor operation that they would be required to undertake into another region of the sub-sector, Sisters of all ranks as welcome as any other.
One thing he revealed was that he had already sent a similar message to the Ecclesiarchy itself, making them aware of the situation and requesting any spiritual assistance they might be able to give.
The call to a divine cause has gone out, will you answer?

Out of character info:
Welcome, one and all, to the grim darkness of the future where their is only war!
An Inquisitor has come seeking assistance for a task from the Order of Our Thrice-Pierced Martyr and its more non-militant sister organisations within the Taniea Sub-Sector, his rosette authentic beyond all possible doubt, his mission as-of-yet unknown to the 'common' sisterhood and those subordinates sent by the Ecclesiarchy to aid him and his cause.
Messages have been transmitted from Taniea Primus and the order's Preceptory there, the authorisation given by the Canoness-Preceptor herself, requesting that candidates from each Order be sent to Taniea Primus and all those sent by the Ecclesiarchy meet them there as well.
You, the players, are going to form this group and accompany Kliment on what shall (I hope) be a diverse and exciting adventure into the 40k universe from within an organisation very rarely written about.
We're going to gather within the hallowed halls of the 'parent Order', then off we go...
If anyone needs any information about the other branches of the Order, such as where they are based, who leads them, and so forth, then please feel free to ask me. As we are derived from the Order of Our Martyred Lady, the armour and so forth follow similar patterns, being primarily black armour and white vestments...
I imagine the symbol would certainly be different, probably struck through with three blades around the skull (left, right and down into the symbol), while retaining the red and white colour.
I expect everyone will have some knowledge of Warhammer 40K, but for those that might lack a little, I have always found warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Warhammer… and warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Adepta_So… to be the best places to look. Just make certain that the information has a source, otherwise it is very likely fan made and therefore not canon.
As already stated, any questions – and suggestions - are welcome!

Character Sheet
Please submit your character sheets by Private Message to me, myself and I - once accepted you can post them in the Char tab.
Name: Your character's name. A pretty obvious one, so enough said.
Gender: Again, obvious.
Role/Order: Militant, Hospitaller, Dialogous and so forth.
Personal Demeanour: What kind of person is your character, what are their motivations etc, and how do they interact with others? Also please include any hatreds, grudges, and so on.
Speciality: Are they especially skilled at close quarters? Xenos linguistics? The healing of others? Put it here.
Rank: Obvious – they can range from a standard Battle-Sister, down to a Novice Advance, specialist ranks such as Repentia, Dominion/Retributor (Heavy Weapons specialist) and the like are also allowed; if your character is part of a different Order, then feel free to use Order-specific ranks.
Description: A written description of your character's appearance. No pictures. Please include here any armour or clothing as well. (White bob-cut hair is optional.)
History: A sketch of your character's life and history, preferably until their arrival at the fortress. Give me three solid paragraphs, at least, please.
Remember that all Sisters are originally plucked from their respective Schola Progenium facilities, so that is likely where all Sororitas will begin – some are taken from exterior organisations, but they are the exception to the rule. Any non-Sororitas, well, that's different.
Equipment and Armament: What do they bring with them/carry on their person? This includes weapons.
Miscellaneous: Anything you want to mention but haven't been able to cover yet.
