@SheriffLlama It's mainly the ranks I was looking for but flights'd be good too. Flights are essentially sub groups within a squadron. Flights basically make it easier to manage in a combat situation as instead of commanding 8 fighters all you need to worry about is 4, and you can also desginated specific targets within your squadron.

It also makes you less of a target and when dogfighting ensues gives you more manueverability without running off on your own and getting gunned down (Rogue One has a good example of running off alone).

Albeit Star Wars is verrrrry bad at "Charge an entire squadron at them in arrow formation!" so the best SW Example I can think of, is how during the first battle of the Death Star they only sent three fighters into the trench at a time, rather than the full squadron.

@heyseuss I shall get you on discord.

@Gunther do you want the sappers under Traviks control? I'm fine either. On a side note I'm likely to make a Sapper once I kick off the IC later today. Also Travik is accepted.

Hey, is this still open? It seems the duty roster is filled up already with NPCs.

It would make sense to place them under his operational control. Eventually, I'd create some Engineer NPCs as the story roles along.

@Gunther will get on that. As I said I'm making a sapper down the line, so may go the leader of that detatchment. Just want it tacked on the bottom or how do you want it added to the list?

I believe that works. The way I've put it up.

@BingTheWing Think of the NPCs like 'placeholders' feel free to take a squad, or the Sappers entire detatchment or anything mechanized is wide open.

Hrm. Since we already have two pilot characters, I might go for a tanker instead.

You still interested in running with this concept SB?

Perfect. Another observation I made. You have the infantry listed as 122. That is the authorized strength. They have 103 on hand. The first platoon is still short 19. Maybe those 19 can show later in the story?

I'm going to take a look at these:
1x AT-TE
3x AT-AP
1x AT-PT
1x HAVw A6 Juggernaut

Are the 10 vehicle drivers supposed to be for these or are they allocated somewhere else?

The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) has a crew of two. I assume one is the driver and the second mans the Mass Driver Cannon. The vehicle also has six laser cannon turrets and can hold 20 infantry. I assume this is a transport for the infantry and they man the laser cannon turrets. The LAATs can transport these.

The three All Terrain Attack Pod (AT-AP) comes with a pilot and two gunners for its Heavy Projectile Launcher, Heavy Blaster Cannon and Medium Laser Cannon. No passengers

The All Terrain Personal Transport (AT-PT) has a crew of two (+1). Armed with Twin blaster cannon and concussion grenade launcher. The Commandant would like to pimp this ride out as his command vehicle. He'll need a pilot and a young officer to call indirect fire from The Keep.

The HAVw A6 Juggernaut has a crew of 12 with a number of Anti-personnel cannons, one Heavy laser turret, one Projectile launcher and a Repeating laser. Wookiepedia states it can transport 300 soldiers. I don't buy that for a second. Looking at the photograph, I'd guess about 50.

These six vehicles require a crew of 24 people, counting pilots/drivers and gunners. The USMC separate their infantry from their vehicles, which appears to be what we are doing here. The US Army and most British Army units have vehicles organic to their units. Infantry soldiers drive and shoot their own vehicles. This is not what we are doing here. Am I correct in this assumption?

@Gunther AT-PT is a two person vehicle. In terms of displacement... I bow to your military expertise in what goes where. I would have thought the Commandant would make the AT-TE his command vehicle (in the rare instances it's deployed) as it can have a holoprojector in the back.

Also the drivers listed are merely dedicated, and under the assumption that as a unit Rancor is unlikely to ever deploy all it's vehicles. The AP and PT I'd class as Mechanized Infantry as well, as they're a bit faster. In terms of transport, the LAAT/c can carry all vehicles listed, while on screen they have only carried an AT-TE. Dedicated as in that is their job, and what they are there to do. There are no doubt other members within the company who have the skill to operate walkers, but not to the same degree of proficiency.

In terms of listing strength, I threw the numbers on which I thought I had gotten right from yourself. If the total of the infantry is currently at 103 I'll edit that.

@POOHEAD189 How'd he end up with Rancor, and how many of his personnel are Mandalorian?

If they're brand new I can see all being Mando (Good luck having a good survival rate) but if they're experienced it's unlikely they have a 100% mandalorian rate given casualties.

Will leave final decision to @Gunther as he is the bossman of Infantry.

@SepThey're 100% mandalorian since he pretty much got a part of his clan to join the Rebel Alliance. I'd think that since they're hardened warriors used to forward operations and independence that they would naturally be put into Rancor Company, that and they hail from the native planet of the Rancor beast. If I added that and awaited Gunther's instruction, would that be sufficient my good sir?

@POOHEAD189 So they're a new fighting unit? Have they had any alliance training? AS they're not an independent fighting unit now.

@SepHonestly I was hoping to join like Lauder's unit, being relatively new but also known for being a warlike people.
I believe you're assuming that I am going to try to derail the RP or that I am misunderstanding what the objective is. I'm not planning on turning my squad into anything that'll harm what you're planning. I realize they're apart of the Rebel Alliance now, but I also know that most commanders would know that Mandalorian's know what they're doing generally since they're bred for war. But they've only been with Rancor Company a few months, which I suppose would entail some training? I'll go with your advice on that.

@POOHEAD189 Oh no I don't think you're derailing I just wanna know where they'd fit in. I'm fine with a new attatchment (post Anaxes to be clean of scars, so literally a couple of days with the unit to replace losses). Though they likely would have went through some Alliance training to make sure they could at least kind of work as part of a team.

@SepAh, awesome. My bad. Ok, I'll add they were put into Rancor company and that they received some training in how to work properly with the Rebel Alliance, and a few days previous were put into the Company after passing training. :D

Edit: Aaaand done.
