Name: Jon Flying Stag
Alias: Super Chief
Age: looks around 27
Powers:
The Iroquois man is powered by the Manitou Stone / Moon Stone ebbed in his chest. The Chief has incredible strength [20 tons/40,000 pounds max lift so far], heightened senses and physical attributes. He is immortal, however most of his days were spent in a coma like state as he was buried well over three centuries ago. Flying Stag was one of the greatest warriors of the five nations and has incredible hand to hand skills and grappling experience. He is also an expert in throwing weapons [spears, tomahawks, knives, etc..]. The Native American also has an incredible leap [similar to Marvel heroes like the Hulk, more recently Aquaman was seen getting around cities this way] that gets him around most times. Being immortal also comes with a healing factor though depending how serious the injury is it can take some time to heal. His power is generally seen as supernatural in nature.
Weaknesses:
The Chief is honorable to a fault, and naive as a teenager. Centuries ago he was buried alive but seemingly matured, however he is still childish from time to time. He can be physically over powered, his mind controlled, and sound based attacks as well as flash grenades can hurt his enhanced ears and eyes. Without his mask gas based attacks can harm him as well. SC is vulnerable to heavy arms fire, but at best it slows him down unless the enemy has explosives. He's vulnerable to most of the same things regular humans are, he just heals from most smaller injuries within minutes.
Personality: stoic, honorable, determined
Appearance:
Brief Bio:
Flying Stag was one of the greatest warriors and trackers of the five Iroqious nations in the late 1600's. He took part in a competition to determine the new Chief of the Royaneh [meeting place of the tribes] after the former Chief was murdered. Throughout the competition Flying Stag picked up on a couple of the other contenders having a hand in the former Chief's death as well as plans for when a new Chief is chosen. Stag didn't worry much as his skills were enough to guarantee him the victory, however the competion had been rigged and several competitors lost their lives in a large pitfall. The bodies of several rivals are all that kept Stag from being killed on the spot.
The young man prayed to the Great Spirit Manitou to save his people, and a meteorite fell from the sky into the pit and struck the wounded man.
His friends and family were protected by the Great Spirit, and the reign of the evil men was short lived. Stag's former lover and would be wife, White Fawn, was instrumental in taking down the men some years later before too much damage had been done. She never knew what happened to the man who was foresaw to become the greatest chief of all native peoples.
2017
Flying Stag was unearthed from the buried wreckage of a former Iroqious village in the northeastern USA. Archeologists had no idea how the man's body had been preserved but guessed it had something to do with the stone ebbed in his chest. After his body was taken to the morgue and a wooden spear was removed from his chest just to the left of the stone, Stag awoke to the surprise of his rescuers. He escaped only to find a world he wasn't prepared for. The Great Spirit came to him once again in his time of need and instructed him to find a specific reservation. Upon meeting his last known blood relative Standing Bear, he helped him get paperwork to become a proper citizen in case anybody came asking questions. He would simply be known as 'Jon Flying Stag'. Once Stag had accepted the new world for what it was and the shock and awe had faded, he was again approached by the Great Spirit. This time he was instructed to forge an identity and not only defend the remaining people of the five nations but all Native Americans. He became the Super Chief, and upon discovering the Justice League was looking to branch out he went on the road to make a name for himself and get the attention he needed to become part of the League.
That is of course when he met with Hector, aka the Silver Scarab.
Notes:
* Aside from gaining the Thunderbird to travel great distances, I'd like to give the Chief something similar
to Ironman's arc blast from his chest since the Stone is also the source of Chief's power.
* At some point I'd like for SC to discover the power to summon a giant eagle, representing a Thunderbird,
to ride on when he has to travel great distances.
