This roleplay is based off of a lot of plot points from Feng Yu Jia Tian, King Lear, and a few other tales, such as the Prince and the Pauper. This layout and theme is also heavily inspired by "War of the Angelic Trio" by @Dracogenius and Co-GM @Wisp
The story's conflict is bred through the royal family of the Kingdom of Hiertania. For hundreds of years, the humans of this nation have lived under the fair monarchy that valued talent and hard work. But their Honorable King has gotten wary over the years and is restricted to his chambers and prescribed numerous hours of bed rest. During this time of woe, the King's Brother has taken the position of Regent King and governs over the land with an impartial hand, keeping the throne warm as the Crown Prince comes of age. The King foretold that he would not let his throne be taken by a prince any less than the age of twenty. But the King has been getting sicker and sicker, making the offspring of the royal family anxious in his final days.
Our story's Second Prince is ready for a change in power. Having been proficient in potions and serums for the past few years, he had set his sight on poisoning the King. The only person in his way for the line for the throne was his older brother, the Crown Prince. On one rather dreary night, the Second Prince had a rendezvous with the Crown Prince asking where his allegiances lie, and whether his commitments could change for the right prize. The First Prince refused, horrified! And met an untimely end...? Or did he? The King let out his final breath before dawn broke the next day.
As the next in line for the thrown, the Second Prince was ready to claim his right, blaming the death of his family members on the prosperous neighboring country, Lutaires. But when the Second Prince came from his chambers, he was shocked to see the Crown Prince alive and well, being attended by the Regent King. Unknownst of the Second Prince, the Regent King had been unable to stop his plot to kill the First Prince, but was able to replace his position with a body double that would soon be taught the ways of ruling a kingdom.
While the Kingdom of Hiertania believes assassins from Lutaires have murdered their King, Lutaires has pleaded innocent with messengers and has sent two ambassadors of able talent to offer condolences to the Regent King and Royal Family. Noble bodyguards protect them from saddened citizens, driven mad with the thirst to avenge their Honorable King, what may come about from this tragic tale?
A lone boy wakes up in a foreign country far away, his crown is gone and his luxurious robes replaced by worn rags. The area is covered in desert and the inhabitants speak in tongues. What might become of his forgotten soul?
Note: This summary is the base of the roleplay, the rp starts the morning of the day that the King falls to the hands of the Second Prince. This rp does not have to be long-term, just long enough to fulfill the main plot, but can continue onwards as well! A map of the area will soon be made by a dear friend and I for your convenience.
Prejudice has always been high against the Kingdom of Lutaires. The people of Lutaires are known to be descendants from elves and dryads and seem otherworldly with all having hair of colors such as brilliant blonde, silver, and red while having irises with mystifying colors of blue, green, and purple. In the Kingdom of Hiertania, the people and all ordinary humans around only have Brown to black hair and golden to brown eyes. Because the prosperous country is so different, they are hated and not even called human. Criminals run rampant between the borders, taking and pillaging from villages from Lutaires, instead of a formal trading system being set up between the two kingdoms.
