Just to keep things balanced here:

I'm off today and we had a small discussion about the pace of the RP over on the chat. It's nothing crazy, but a good point was brought up about there being very few RPs that adopt a once a week posting pace. I was explaining that we've adopted this pace because we feel it'll provide the best narrative consistency as story content is dropped often. Everyone has something fresh to work with often and then you have the week in between where you can post as much as you need to. Nothing crazy, but I thought I'd share here so we can all join in on the conversation.

I also expressed my desire (this is not official by any means) to allow players to create subplots when we move far enough in the story to allow for such. I think it'd be a good way to allow for a unique kind of character development for everyone while also putting players in a minor lead position for a bit. Understand that this hasn't been discussed yet though; it's just me and my desires at the moment lol. There will be plenty of chances at character development in the main narrative of the RP anyway, rest assured.

I am in a few RPs that have that once a week policy. She's strict about it (has her own counters set up) and it seems like a good process. If you need an extension, let her know and she'll give it to you, otherwise you need to post and if you don't, you're out of the RP.

It's up to you, but I am on board with once a week. Work is busy a lot, but when I am home I am at home for the rest of the day/night

Well, it's not like you have to post more than once a week. We're just asking for minimum one post a week. And of course, with the quality over quantity stance, we're not expecting novel length posts once a week lol. I think it'll work out as we settle into the routine.

Everyone's character sheets look so splendid that my WIP seems lacking. But it definitely is a WIP. Time to peruse to see what core and aeons have been represented in the current cast. Why? Cause of diversity.

@Ambiguity - We've got a surprisingly diverse cast as it stands for how many people we have. I'd say you should just do the character that appeals to you the most, rather than one that just hasn't been done yet - unless they end up being the same haha. I'd want you to enjoy the character you play even if that means it's similar to another. And don't worry about the sheet lacking. If the information is conveyed clearly, it can't be bad. Rockette made sure to post the code she used to make the CS skeleton so that will make the layout look good enough without any extra tinkering if you don't want to do it.

Our cast is definitely diverse! I really like what everyone's been doing so far. Of course I'll create a character I'd have fun writing with. I'm one of those weridos that likes to create different versions and look at them all at the very end. I'll keep out trucking with my CS, and when I post, I'll let you fine GMs decide if I should add more or not. I'm very open to feedback and such!

Also, just talking about activity. I think you already covered it in the past few posts, but is posting once a week acceptable for this roleplay? I'm at the point where I could potentially post more than that, but once a week seems more feasible.

@Ambiguity - You've got plenty of time on your CS so don't rush. You don't have to as of yet.

Rockette did indeed make a post on this, but to summarize, character submissions are closing Tuesday unless you PM us with a reason for delay in submitting a sheet. The RP will then start that same weekend, so next weekend basically. The posting pace will be once a week.

So, I'm assuming the ranks are just a gauge of a SOLDIER's personal skill and power and not related to any sort of chain of command? Because we have like, 4 commanders in the same team.

@The Survivor - The ranks of SOLDIER are, as you said, more of a personal achievement of strength and skill, but really they are just titles. Within our main cast, there is no chain command so you don't have to worry about such.

@The Survivor - You know who was worse in my opinion though? Andrea. Not sure if there has been or is a worse character on the show. She was so damn bad, which is ridiculous to even fathom because her comic book counterpart was almost the complete opposite. It freakin' killed me how annoying she was. Her death was probably one of the greatest moments of the show. My goodness.

All right, I know it was briefly discussed, but I'm opening up the channel for potential affiliations; i.e preexisting relationships or knowledge of one another. Keep, within mind, that the sensible way to go about these are: previous association before SOLDIER induction, meaning they have run into one another, or knew of each other. [example; we have a former prisoner, a detective, and officer. And, two that originate from wealthy families. etc.] Also, it's possible for those that originate from the same SOLDIER Class could be familiar.

Anyways, I trust you guys to be sensible about it, just thought to open the channel for such things whilst we coast through the days until we begin. Unless you've already done such things, then huzzah, I just wasted my time.

Another reminder: character submissions end tomorrow, where I'll start a twenty-four hour countdown for those still wishing to submit characters. Those that have messaged me regarding special situations, this does not apply to you, but the character should be submitted at least the following Friday.
