"Crap! I cant start off being late to the Exams-! Whoa! Excuse me! Sorry!" Jaden yelled as he offered apologise to those who he accidently bumped into while he ran or managed to dodge at the last second with inhuman yet clumsy grace. Jaden Yuki had planned to attend Duel Academy after the ten month break from his adventures with Yugi Motou and their friends to save the world. Still finding the passion to Duel, Jaden thought this would be his calling and maybe get to where he could be the next King of Games and be up there with Yugi in the ranks of being a top Duelist.

Still sprinting toward th Kaiba Corp. Duel arena where they were holding the Dueling exams, Jaden was feeling much more refreshed with the wind in his face and upturned hair. Though when he turned his head to check on the people he had accidently ran into, Jaden felt himself collide with somone of which he had no time to see till he landed on his butt with a slight groan. The figure stumbled a bit but had managed to get their balance in check and stay standing before straightening themselves. "Owwww... I'm so sorry I didn't me to-" Jaden started his apologizes to see a hand held out to him and followed it to see it was Yugi. It wasnt hard to recognize the wild spikey, tri-colored hair. "Yugi! Long time so see!" Jaden was surprised but excited to see him before he went to Duel Academy. Well. If he passed that is. Jaden took the offered hand of which helped him to his feet.

Yugi smiled in greeting. "So you're still going to attend the Duel Academy Exams?" He asked. Jaden nodded. "Heck yeah! It gonna be fun. Plus I aim to be the next King of Games." Jaden told him with enthusiasim. Yugi's smile was sencere. "Here. I have something for you to help you get there." Yugi reached his hand to his deck holder and pulled out two cards. Yugi handed them over for Jaden to take. Jaden took the two cards only to look at the with awe and surprise. He looked to Yugi about to hold them out to given the back but Yugi held out his hand. "Its fine. It'll be a new experience for you both. I know you'll take care of them both. 'You still have freedom. Fight with and take care of Jaden Yuki. This is my wish. May you serve him well Shadow." Yugi smiled. "Now last I knew, you were running late to the Exams." Yugi said with a chuckle, giving him another reason not to argue. With widened eyes, Jaden started to freak out. "Oh Crap! Thats right! See ya soon Yugi!" Jaden began his sprint toward the Dueling arena as fast as his legs would take him.

~Kaiba Corp Dueling Arena~
"Whew! Kinda wished I didn't sleep in." Jaden mused as he had climbed the Wall and made it over, he snuck into the building through the back and went to make his way inside and to where he was inside and watching some duels happen. "Wow! So many Duelists here! This going to be fun, I just know it." His eyes glowed a slight teal and yellow. 'It looks promising. I havent seen you this excited since you dueled in the Battle City Tournament.' Yubel said with a smile, revaling her transparent self. "No kidding."

Shadow has been living in Yugi's shadow for the past ten months after his wish for her freedom, and the opportunity to not (forcefully) grant wishes anymore was a new chance. She had to admit that the task itself was very difficult; to obey at all times, and not oppose or judge the decisions made by the master. From her past life, and for learning the cons of her servitude, Shadow admitted that she got a little carried away with her dream to become like Divine. She didn't know about the stress, or the tiredness that her sister suffered from while performing the said-task, and it was not what the shadow genie wanted to expect at all. Not to mention that this lesson was learned after Bakura and Marik used her loyal nature against her will, in order to get close to Yugi.

Except, in Bakura's case, he only wanted her power in general; his only reason to take control of her in the first place. From there, Shadow Djinn was devoted to use her shadows for the greater good: to track and monitor the shades of the living, eliminating all anomalies lurking within the darkness of their hearts, or "shadows", for that matter. Her insecurity to even vouch for humans was beyond her reach, since she was, in fact, unseeable. Except to those who possesses the ability to see the "spirits" in the first place i.e. Yugi, Pegasus, Jaden, Jesse, Yusei, and Yuya. However, this "invisibility" wasn't to last; thanks to the Syncro-Duelist Yusei Fudo, she had the choice whether to be noticeable or unnoticeable to everyone.

All of them were her friends; all were human; all were allies; only one was a spirit: Yubel. For the past ten months, she missed communicating with Jaden's spirit partner. Speaking of, Shadow honestly missed Pharaoh; he showed her the courage she should've possessed, and for the scenario of both of them traveling five-thousand years into the past, it slowly emerged within her, when he frequently reminded her that she was a shadow-being; that she had the free-will to choose, whether to follow the rules or not. That was the only thing that was holding her back: self-awareness. Shadow went through these said memories, when she secured herself within Yugi's shadow as he walked through Domino City's park. Not that she complained; she talked to him through his own casted shadow on the ground as he walked, moving on its own.

However, their communication came to a halt when someone bumped into her owner, causing Shadow to disappear. Seeing that it was just her old friend Jaden Yuki, she was tempted to say 'hello', but once she witnessed Yugi passing her card off to him, she wanted to protest in confusion. However, with his request, she couldn't deny his "wish". He was her friend, and she didn't want to see him disappointed if she refused. But once she realized herself being one with her card, she was to temporarily be with duelist after duelist. This was a new chapter, and with that, the Shadow Genie's confidence came back. 'I promise', she responded to the boy, missing him already once Jaden made his run. It was time to move on, but who knows when their paths might cross again?

~Kaiba Corp Dueling Arena~
'Yeah, Jay, everyone's dying here. Must be a very popular place in Domino', Shadow pointed out, also revealing her transparent self on Jaden's other side, in her natural form, just opposite of Yubel. Watching the duelists before them, she remembered Yugi giving her his deck before she went back into his card. He wanted her to keep them, in memory of Atem. In return, Shadow traded with him her sister's card, and she was happy that Divine was able to go to a better place in the Shrine, along with the Pharaoh. It left a fonding memory behind, and that was one to keep. The genie looked at her new owner, before switching her appearance to her disguised form, and switching on the specially-designed bracelet Yusei made for her, making herself, well, noticeable. Slightly taller than Jaden, while holding the deck in her hand, a Duel Disk appeared on her left arm. Hopefully no one recognizes her as the Queen of Games in her. "Let's get into that school", Shadow said with a confident smile.

Jaden was grinning from ear to ear at this hype from both Yubel and Shadow. This was going to be one hell of a school year and hewas hoping to make it on heck of a school year for Yubel and Shadow. "I guess now we wait for our name to be called." Jaden shrugged, though watching one of the duels going on with a boy and some machines that looked to be from a cartoon. They looked kind of cool, their duelist being a young boy with large light aqua hair. He had glasses that ade him look quite smart. He seemed to be struggling against the prompter but only to manage to turn the duel around and win. "Hey, that boy did pretty well. He seeedquite nervous. I guess I would be too." The brunette laughed slyly for when he saw the boy coming up, Jaden grinned and waved to him like he knew him.

"Hey! That was a sweet duel." Jaden commented. The aqua haired boy looked a little confused but smiled shyly. "I barely passed." He said. "Pass is a pass right?" Jaden questioned. "Name's Jaden Yuki. This is my friend Shadow." Jaden introduced as he saw that Shadow had went into a more physical and disguised form.

The boy nodded to them, having gone to stand next to them. "Syrus. Syrus Truesdale." He introduced himself. Though this culd be heard by many around them started talking. "Shadow? Do they mean the Queen of Games who Dueled with the King of Games?"
"No, you serious? She's here?"
"Oh wow! The Queen of Games is here!"
"Is she attending Duel Academy too?"
"Why is she hanging out with that guy?" Many started talking adn then some. Jaden only hung his head as he whined a little. Yubel could only laugh in amusement at this. 'You have indeed quite the reputation, Shadow.' Even Syrus was shocked. "W-Wha? Shadow? Oh wow! You're quite popular to all Duelists here. And among the boys." He said witha blush and twittling his thumbs.

They both looked down to where the main Promptor had stood and the students and initiates. "Well if thats all then-" "wait! I'm Jaden! Jaden Yuki? I signed up too!" Jaden shouted from the top of the bleachers. One of the Promptors from beside the long haired blonde in a blue uniform and whispered in his ear. "You are late. I'm sorry-" Interrupted once again, and this time by a phone ringing, he answered while Jaden began to pout. Only for when the an was done to sigh. "I've changed my mind. Meet me in Duel arena 2." The blonde said. Jaden lit up with glee. "Wish me luck!" He told Syrus as he bounde to the arena. "Come on Shadow! Time to get our game on!" He cheered. Syrus then became confused but brushed it off.

Jaden made it to Duel Arena 2 where the tall long blonde haired man stand proudly with a large Duel disk strapped to his body. Jaden was amazed and left in awe at the Duel disk. "Wow! Thats a sweet Duel Disk. Am i going to be able to get one of those?" he asked with glee. He was so hyped about this. How could he not get so excited. It had been a sometime since but with renewed energy he was ready for what was in store at this academy.

"Maybe when you became less of a slacker and become top of the school you can." The man said. "I am Dr. Crowler, one of your many teachers should you somehow pass an win against me. May you be an example to those who would be late to something such as this." Crowler told Jaden who only scratched the back of his head sheepishly before activating his Duel Disk. "Whatever you say Teach'. Get your game on!" Seeming a bit more seious but as Yubel and Shadow would know, Jaden only gets serious when he is having fun and going with the flow of the game. Actually think solely on what his opponent might do or try to think ahead never gets him anywhere but a one way trip to losing a Duel. "Hope your ready guys." Talking to Shadow, Yubel and the rest of his deck. He had high respect for his cards and never tolerated it when one made fun of them.

"Yeah, who knows? They might have seen potential in your performance", Shadow added to her owner's optimism. Always positive, he was. No anger, no sadness; he was only positive. However, ten months ago, when his shadow-self came to light: it was the opposite of Jaden. Only hatred, greed, and anger; it was his dark side, influenced by The Supreme King. But Shadow herself banished it from his consciousness, before confronting Yubel about it, eventually finding out that she was responsible for the uprise of his dark-self. It was scary, but he cleansed the she-demon by fusing themselves together. From there, they were loyal to each other.

Blushing at the comments from some of the human boys, Shadow chuckled in agreement to Yubel's comment. "I didn't expect myself to be this popular", she was surprised, but closed her eyes passively. "Oh well, they can try and find me, if you know what I mean", she lightly joked with a chuckle before she heard Jaden calling down to one of the Prompters, and running off to Duel Arena 2. Shrugging to Syrus, she walked down the path where her owner went, passing a few Blue Obelisks, who just stared in awe; others with envy. Worst case scenario: they will be trying to get her attention, and follow her everywhere.

Running the rest of the way, Shadow was finally on the platform where Jaden was waiting, and watch themselves come up from the floor of the arena. "I'm sure you'll teach us a thing or two in this duel, doctor", she complimented him before activating her own Duel Disk, and placing her deck inside. "Let's Duel!", she shouted in unison with them. Let the duel begin...

"Hope you don't mind, Jaden, but I'll take the first draw", declared the now-noticeable, disguised form of Shadow, as she made her first draw. Narrowing her eyes at the card in her right hand. 'Just what I've been thinking of', she smirked. "First, I summon King Gazelle of the Mythical Beasts! Fear the beast in Attack Mode!", a mighty brown creature with the head of a lion, and a body of muscle and fur, came into appearance before her and Jaden with 1500 ATK and 1200 DEF points. Sharp claws, a sharp horn on its forehead, and intimidating gold eyes; a ferocious beast, indeed. Taking a moment to calculate her points, Shadow closed her eyes passively. "With two cards down, I end my turn!", she declared rather softly.

It's been a long while since she last picked up a deck; only once during the tournament in Battle City, apart from her time under the Millenium Ring's control. If Shadow can remember Atem's strategies, she might pull this off. Truth be told, as a monster card, she will never be as skilled as her old friend. But that didn't mean she would forget on how it's played. She took a glance to Jaden, before crossing her arms, with three remaining cards in hand.

Jaden grinned from ear to ear, upon Shadow making the first move. This was definitely going to be one hell of a duel, he just knew it. He hadn't seen Shadow duel much and it was very rare. In honesty, Jaden couldn't remember the last time he had seen Shadow duel. The fact that she was using Yami's deck made him grin from ear to ear. "Right on Shadow!" Jaden could see that this was going to be spectacular and with monsters he was familiar with on the field, he was sure that there were plenty of other cards that he was familiar with too that would be within Shadow's deck. Crowler seemed not too amused with what Shadow had pulled. Looking at his hand he looked back to look back at the two and kept his smirk. "I'll draw." Crowler told him as he then drew a card. He looked at his hand before he pulled two cards from his hand. He set them down on the field. "I shall end my turn." Crowler declared calmly for Jaden was practically hopping in his shoes for while he was waiting for his turn.

So now that it was here, he took no hesitation to draw. "Oh Yeah, its my turn and I draw!" declaring enthusiastically. Looking at his hand, he pulled out a card and then placed it on the field. "I summon Elemental Avian, in Defence Mode!" A human-like creature, more humanesche, white wings with green like armor on the arch on the wing. Green and dark green like feathers and hair that spiked up like a helmet of sorts with his domino like mask that covered his eyes. Green and silver shoulder guards that adorned his shoulders. Clearly defined figure with grey abs human like hands wth green fur patch on his forearms, his right hands had a three claw like weapon on the top of his hand like it was meant to be there. Fur patch covering on the lower half of the leg, where his feet were talons. The monster sitting with 1000 ATK and 1000 DEF. "Then I place a card face down and end my turn!" The fun was definitely back. He could feel it in his veins an could feel the shiver that Yubel gave off from her own slight excitement while she stood between the two Duelists with her arms crossed.

This went back to Crowler's turn who declared his draw phase and smirked a little, placing a card down on the field. "I can the spell card known as Heavy Storm, a spell that destorys all Spell and Trap cards on the field." Crowler explains as a basicall heavy storm blows through and destroys Shadow's, Jaden's, and even Crowler's own spell and trap cards, sending them to the graveyard. This makes Jaden looked confused. "Uh...Teach. You do know you destoyed your own spells and traps, right?" Jaden told him. Crowler only smirked. "Of course I know this you brainless twit. This is where the effect of my next cards come into play." Jaden huffed at the supposed insult and shrugged it off like it never bothered him or that he didnt care. Crowler only lifted a index finger to wag it a few times disapproving. "Now watch here you two and you will see how this all works." The Professor continued, as two yellow worm like creatures with two arms and beast like faces rose from infront of Crowler from smoke.

This peeked the young teen's interest as he watched. Crowler couldn't help but feel proud of his performance already. "Now if your ready to continue I will show you another lesson." "Heck yeah! I don't remember when learning became this much fun!" Jaden piped up with a goofy grin. Yubel giggled. "Now now Jaden, I know your having fun but watch carefully and watch for your partner." she advised. With that, what they saw next was the two creatures being set aflame. "Now! I will sacrifice these two Wicked tokens to summon Ancient Gear Golem!" Declaring as a big mechanical gear, armored soldier risng and standing tall though set in Attack mode, crouched behind his owner and growled toward the two duelists, its ATK 3000, DEF 3000. Jaden could only look amazed at creature before them. "That's so cool! Don't you think Shadow?"

Crowler looked between the two before deciding on what his next move would be. "I believe I start by attacking King Gazelle of the Mythical Beasts! Mechanized Melee!" The Golem raised its fists and aimed straight for Shadow's Gazelle, punching it as it exploded. Their points dropped to 2500 and Crowler ended his turn, Shadow being next. "You aright Shadow?" Jaden asked, concerned for her. Though curious, figured she was alright.

Shadow knew that the two trap cards she laid down were going be useful, once King Gazelle was destroyed, but it wasn't going to be easy with Jaden as her tag partner. That's not to say that she didn't want him to be involved; she just didn't want to risk using them if his monsters get destroyed beforehand. "Sweet draw, Jay", she calmly complimented her partner, once Elemental Avian put itself in defense mode. Shadow was all too familiar with Yuki's cards ten months prior: An "Elemental Hero" deck; a deck he longly mastered, she remembered. The praise between one another was cut short...once the spell card "Heavy Storm" came into play. With her and Jaden's traps wiped off the board, the former genie remembered one of Yami's lessons: "Don't rely too much on Spells and Traps." She may have went a little too easy, but wait...she then held herself back, recalling to herself that can't get too impulsive in a duel. Shadow was better than that; she couldn't force herself to be someone she's not. Even though she was publicly titled as the 'Queen of Games', she was only known for being one of the great ace monsters in Yugi's/Yami's deck.

For the first time, she just wasn't sure what she was more valuable for: personal dueling, or a monster in-play. With these preoccupied thoughts, she wasn't prepared into coming face to face with Crowler's recent summoning: Ancient Gear Golem. All Shadow could do was look at the huge metal soldier in astonishment. "That is, one heavy piece of metal", was all she could say. She never felt such vulnerability. Bracing herself for the direct attack, the disguised genie stood her ground as their points dropped to 2500. "I'm good, just getting warmed up", she reassured Jaden with a confident smile that showed a small trace of deviousness.

Taking her draw, Shadow gathered herself in courage, and made her play. "I gonna summon the graceful Queen's Knight in DEF mode!", a blonde-haired woman in cherry-red warrior's armor with an equipped sword and shield appeared before her, kneeling in the same position as Jaden's Elemental Avian, with 1500 ATK and 1600 DEF. "Now that her majesty demands attention, I'm also summoning her beloved King's Knight from my hand in Attack mode!", another knight made itself known: a muscular warrior-like blonde male with golden armor, a purple cape, and his equipped sword, next to the queen, with 1600 ATK and 1400 DEF. "But wait, there's more! With both of my royal knights in play, I get to summon one more from my deck! Let's complete the royal family with the Jack's Knight in Attack mode!", once more, a third knight came out in play: a long, brown-haired young male with tanned skin, blue and silver armor, with a shield and a sword came forward with 1900 ATK and 1000 DEF, completing a whole line of three Knights. "I end my turn with one card face down!"

"Whoa! All three Knights in one move!?"
"Talk about a whole attack force, wouldn't you say, Chazz?"

Chazz only scoffed at the scene. "Big deal. Its not like the "Queen of Games" can do much with Golems effect. She should have dueled alone instead of carrying this slacker." Chazz told his friends. He doubted that they would win against Crowler. He would show those two whos boss.

Jaden smiled and nodded, watching her make her turn and grinning when the Royal knights made it to the field. See her turn end, Crowler started his turn with a draw he smiled knowing he had this Duel. "Now my Ancient Gear now attack with Elemental Hero Avian with Mechanized Melee!" the mechanical golem raised its fist only to go and punch the winged warrior who was shattered after such a strike. And with the effect with the difference of the defence of the defending monster and Golems attack strength dealing their points to 500. This only made Jaden silent for a bit as Crowler spoke. "Its quite alright. This is the top dueling school in the country some people are cut-...out...for it?" Crowler's words were soon drowned out with the sound of Jaden laughter like he was having the time of his life.

He threw his head up with the most childish grin on his face. It only soon died down as the grin still showed and looking at Crowler. "Man, now i really want to come to this school now teach'!"

Jaden's words struck Crowler for his scowled and wasnt liking how this one boy was mocking his deck like it was childs play thing. He would have to show this boy who was top dog. Ending his turn, Jaden knew he was next. About to draw his card, his heard a coo that he, Shadow, and Yubel could hear. Looking at his deck Jaden drew the top card to see it was Winged Kuriboh. "Oh! So it was you." looking back on what Yugi had said, Jaden had the same feeling. He from the white winged brown furball to Shadow then to the monst once more with a fond smile. "I have that same feeling." with another coo and what Jaden saw was a wink, Jaden's smile grew. "Alright! I play Winged Kuriboh, in Defence Mode. I play one card face down and end my turn! So what you think about that?" Jaden asked.

Crowler forced a smile. "I guess it was alright, but i doubt he can stand up with withstand my Ancient Gear Golem!" raiding a hand toward his creature as the monster was ready to strike after Crowler drew a card. "Now attack the Kuriboh!" Jaden watched as the monster punched the little fluff ball who was destroyed. Crowler looked confused as Jaden was calm as was Yubel but Jaden on the inside wasnt happy that Kuriboh was destoyed. "Check your gear. There must be something wrong." Crowler told him.

"Nope. My gear is fine. On the turn Winged Kuriboh is destoyed, i take no damage." Jaden said simply. Yubel smirked. 'Something the good Doctor didn't know.' Yubel said as Crowler looked miffed only to calm himself. "Guess your lame scrawny little puffball saved you there." This only made Jaden look at him a little harshly."Hey slow down there teach'! You may have beat him but that gives you no reason to call him lame!" Jaden scolded. "Oh im sorry but i forgot how clingy you new duelists are towards your monsters." Crowler taunted.

"Oh yeah? You did trigger my trap though. Hero's Signal!" the trap card appeared as as a beam of light appeared from the card and an H was within the bright circular signal. "That brings out my second Elemental Hero, Burstinatrix!" This moved to Shadows turn. 'i have an idea. Mind if I steal the show?' Jaden asked through their link. He knew they had one. It had happened once before and Jaden wouldnt forget when he and Shadow had worked together once or twice. But then again he had always had a link to monsters it was his perk that he had come to love.

Shadow could feel herself being proud of her latest move. It's true that she rarely duels, but through her experience on the battlefield, she get herself getting the hang of it. Again, the last time she actually dueled was during the Battle City tournament; only because Yami needed the backup in a two-on-two match. It was a memory that remained with her, and truth be told, it felt almost as if she had feelings for her king. But she won't admit it; she wasn't allowed to form relationships at the time, nor while she was only a wish granter through his every command. That was one thing she actually regretted: not being able to tell him what he meant to her, and even Yugi. Now, he was her mentor, nothing more.

Hearing a cooing sound coming from Jaden's direction, the once-genie turned her attention to her new owner. "I think he has a plan", Shadow observed, just by seeing this little furball communicate with Jaden. "A clever move, indeed", she agreed with Yubel's comment. "Say Yubel, ever thought of getting back in the field?", Shadow teased her friend; she wanted the she-demon to join them. These girly conversations never get old.

Hearing Crowler's comment, Shadow steadied herself to keep herself calm. "That's enough, Doctor. Tell me, as a teacher, wouldn't you let your students pass, or let them repeat, and stay around?", she asked him. It wasn't cruel, but honest. His taunts were indeed starting to get annoying, and she expected better in the instructor. 'All yours, Yuki', she turned to Jaden, and allowed him to do as he wished, although wondered what his idea would be.

Jaden looked between Shadow and Yubel as Yubel look led to Shadow, the talk of being back on the field sounded nice. Then again as much as she moved it, sje didnt feel the want for attention. 'Maybe in another duel. Tempting though Shadow. This girl would like to lay back and watch this turn out.' Yubel said with a slight purr. She liked the girl on girl talks. It was rare to have such talks with Shadow anymore but it was something she could come to like more often. Jaden however smiled and let them be. 'Sweet! Its your turn. Ill make my move then.' Jaden said only wanting to steal the show on his turn. Though they would need their lifepoints guarded with the Ancient Gear Golem on the feild. 500 points left to theur name, Jaden didnt care. This was fun and he was going to get into thus school. It was fun already so why stop before it had only begun.

Crowler looked between the two Duelists wondering what the hold up was about. It was getting frustrating enough but this needed to be done. "Well? Are we going to stop dawdling and continue this duel? If you dont continue soon, it will be considered a forefit." he told them rather calmly.

All Shadow gave was a chuckle to Yubel's response. 'Next battle, then', she understood her reason, and the former genie didn't push her. Giving the she-demon a good-hearted smile, Shadow turned her attention from Jaden and back to Crowler. She bowed her head passively with her eyes closing for a second. 'Very well', she then drew her card. "I'll be playing the spell 'Pot of Greed', and draw two cards into my hand", she declared, now having three cards in her hand. One of the drawn cards should help Jaden's plan. "I then activate the spell 'Mage Power', giving Burstinatrix 500 ATK and DEF points for every trap card on the field!", she explained as the card in her hand began to glow, then Jaden's Burstinatrix gained 500 points, raising her to 2300 ATK and 1800 DEF.

"Now, Jaden!", Shadow called out, giving her new owner an opening for his plan.

Jaden watched as Burstinatrix got a good power boost from Djinn's effect and was all rearing to go. Crowler looked at the two with a confused look as if trying to understand something. 'what on earth is going in here? Are they this well coordinated that they know what to do by simplae gestures? This is well unheard of!' Crowler thought though shook his head. He made his draw, knowing this was the end, they would be defeated by his legendary monster and he would have kept a slacker from attending this school. "This is the end for you. Ancient Gear Golem! Mechanized Melee!" The Professor declared.

Jaden grinned and threw his hand out. "You forgot something there teach', our face down! Go!" He had faith in what Shadow had and would make no waste. What turned faceup was the trap card Negate Attack. The punch that would have come to one of Shadow's knights was Negated. Jaden grinned knowing that would be all Crowler could do and so drew his card. He then played a card in the spell and trap zone. 'This is for you Winged Kuriboh...' "I play a trap card Warrior Returning Alive. This brings back a Warrior back from my graveyard and so Ill bring back Elemental Hero Avian from my Graveyard to the Field." Jaden explained as Crowler smirked. "Certainly you have just realized your mistake-"

"You see, i know they are not much separately but when i bring them together, that is a completely different story." Jaden explained further. "Now with the spell card Polymerization, I fused Elemental Hero Avian and Elemental Hero Burstinatrix to Summon Elemental Flame Wingman!" the two monsters fused together to form of green, and black. Red left arm that had a dragons head for a hand, red dragon like tail, a white wing on the left side of his back. Pointed ears and black taloned feet. The ATK at 2100 and DEF at 1200.

Crowler watched and looked with disbelief, wondering how in the world this boy was going to beat his Gear Golem. There was no way. "My dear boy it seems you have forgotten something gravely important. Might anyone please tell me-" only to be interrupted once again.

"You see Teach', I wasnt done yet. So I know that Wingman's attack strength is still not good enough to take on Ancient Gear Golem but let the Clash of the Titans begin! I use the Field Spell, Skyscraper!" A city arose from the ground with looked to be the night sky. Top of the tallest building and perched gracefully upon the tip of the pole was Elemental Hero, Flame Wingman with the Knights standing on the top of the building. Crowler looked confused once again. "Well it seems you have a miscalculation in your plan you see. My mobster's attack strength hasn't lowered." The Brunette Duelist smirked. "I know. But you see, when there is a monster that its Attack is higher than my Elemental Hero, my monster gets a 1000 attack point boost! Go Flame Wingman! Attack Ancient Gear Golem!" Jaden declared!

The monster jumped from his perch as Crowler began to panic. "Wait! Time out!" he pleaded, But Jaden didnt yeild. He knew what he needed to do. Plus it had been fun!. The creature flash stepped from one side to the next as he made his ways towards the machine like creature, ATK 3100, DEF 1200. "Skydive Scorcher!" Flame Wingman had flames enelope its being as it rammed and went through the creature, destroying it and leaving Crowler with 900. "Thats not all Teach'!" When Flame Wingman takes out a monster that monsters ATK is dealt to you!" a smirk on Jaden's face. This left Crowler to 0. Of which now left Jaden and Shadow as the winners.

Jaden gave a thumbs up to Crowler who was dumbfounded. "Thats Game! Great duel by the way!" all holograms disappeared from the field, Jaden looked to Shadow with a goofy grin. "That was awesome Shadow! You did amazing! We so need to practice more together!" Jaden told her as Yubel nodded. 'For not Dueling in a while, very impressive. The Pharaoh and Yugi taught you well.' complimenting her friend.

This lead to where they now would be escorted to by Helecopter that would take all passed new Duelists and current students to the Academy of which resided on an island. Pretty much all were excited about including Jaden. Gained a new friend named Syrus Truesdale, and after the orination of sorts which mainly at the time was being given their uniforms of which by grade of the exam, Jaden and Syus were given Red uniforms and told where to go toward their dorms. Which looked like the equivalent of a poor persons apartment complex. Jaden didnt see it as a big deal up until Jaden saw the inside. But he still didnt care too much. "Home sweet home! Wait. Where did Shadow go?" Syrus looked at him confused. "You mean you didn't notice? She hadn't been with us the whole time. I guess she was assigned to the Obelisk Blue Girl dorms." Jaden looked confused only for him to slightly freak out. "Oh crap. He's gonna kill me..."
"Who?" Syrus asked confused.
Jaden stilled only to then wave his hands and shake his head. "Oh! No one in particular! Just my cousin. You see...Shadow is his sister and they asked me to look after her is all! Yeah, thats it!"
Syrus looked at him oddly only to sigh. "She should be alright. If she was assigned to the Obelisk Blue Girls Dorm, then she will be fine and well taken care of. No need to freak out."
Unknowingly to Syrus, Yubel giggled at Jaden's antics. [i']Smooth moves Jaden. Shadow will be fine. Give her a little time for you both to settle in before you try talking to her mentally.'[/i] Jaden settled then as he felt Yubel's presence surface and reassure him.

Shadow on the otherhand was given a blue uniform and of which she was guided by an Obelik Blue student with long Blonde hair. "My name is Alexis Rhodes. I'll be showing you where our dorms." she said with a smile. "Saw your duel with the kid and up against Professor Crowler. That was one heck of a Duel. You two friends?" She asked while escorting Shadow to the Girl's dorms.

Shadow finally felt triumph for once in a long time. She never felt so much of it before; winning her second personal duel against a human. Not to mention her second victorious duel in a tag match! Everything went according to Jaden's plan perfectly, and it proved that she and her new owner worked well together in synch. The former genie smiled triumphantly, as Jaden and Yubel complimented her on her dueling skills; all she could do was lightly blush, although she did indeed imagine Atem and Yugi already being proud of her; not to mention Divine. 'I'll make them both proud', she confidently confirmed with a nod.

Finding out that she was going to the Obelisk Blue level, Shadow did admit that after finding Jaden, and their new friend Syrus, going to Slifer Red, she felt pity for them. Not to mention that she just found out that females go immediately to the Obelisk Girl Dorms, and that the Slifers don't get as much respect; not to mention that some Obelisk boys were a bit snobbish. Shadow didn't mind the uniform she had to wear, and truth be told, she liked the style, although the blue-and-white was a bit much. She didn't complain, though. A rich, luxurious building is wear she will be staying, like the rest of the Blues, as it overshadowed the other dorms nearby. It was nice; almost too much for her status (since she and Divine technically spent their early lives in servitude).

"Shadow", she introduced herself to her guide, who was also an Obelisk Blue. 'Alexis Rhodes' was her name, and Shadow willingly followed, taking glances at her surroundings. "They certainly did well with this building", she observed its luxurious layout, while walking through a hall. She didn't get too caught up in her sightseeing when she heard the blonde speak. "We are, actually. It's been ten months since my last duel, so we took up on the opportunity to try my new deck", Shadow casually responded to her question, though pondered. "It once belonged to a friend".

Alexis smiled as she continued to walk her through the building. "I see. Though everyone within this Academy knows who you are. Many of us girls here feel inspired when you dueled in Duelist City." Alexis explained to her. "No doubt you have many guys swooning over you already when you appeared at that exam. If you need somone to clear the herd of them give me a shout out." the blonde offered. Walking further on and within the second floor, Alexis stopped at one of the Doors. "This will be your room. I do admit that this place is a little over the top. But then most Obelisk Blue's either came be in this through status of any means or really good grades. I do feel a bit bad that the Slifer Reds are in such of a dump as what they are living in now. Hopefully it isnt as bad as they say." Alexis giggled. "Sorry if im rambling. Would you like to get settled before i give you a tour. We have time before the orintation within the dorms begin. Im sure you can see your friend too if you like."

Shadow couldn't help but blush at the amount of fame she just received from Alexis. Everyone knew who she was, clearly ever since the tournament back in Domino City. So the girls are inspired, and the boys are falling for her; she wondered just how much the student body knew of her attendance. As the blonde explained, Obelisk Blues were known for their connections and good grades. Obviously, Shadow never "enrolled" into a proper school, but after some thinking, she realized that it was her reputation that put her in this highly-luxurious position. As Alexis had said, she couldn't help but agree with her about the Slifer Reds; how they only had a few things to their living conditions. Shadow decided that she won't care what the other students think if she was friends with a certain Slifer...

Reaching a door on the second floor, Shadow chuckled with the blonde. "Believe me, you're not; you're speaking from your perspective. Don't ever think that I'll ever be annoyed, because I won't be", she reassured. It was true; she technically learned her lesson on patience by Atem; that she should have realized the consequences of becoming a wish granter. She was truthfully called "immature" by her older twin, and she took no offense in it; it was pure honesty. Now that Alexis mentions it, Shadow wondered about the main building in the center of the island. "I hope you don't mind showing me the main building. I heard that's where the battles take place", she pointed out.

Alexis though about it a moment and decided to follow follow. "I would happy to. We technically arent suppose to be in the main building but im sure the teachers will understand." Alexis showed her to the main building after opening doors and leading Shafow to the Duel arena where it seemed Jaden, Syrus and a large boy were in the arena as well. They werent alone though. There were three Obelisk Blues that were bad mouthing them and Jaden was taking none of it as he was grinning. "I doubt even one of you can take on Chazz Prinston." one of hid lackies gawked. Jaden's grin widened. "Oh yeah? I think i can. What do you say Chazz? You scared?" Jaden said with a slight devious tone that could be noticed if one knew Jaden well, was a bit of Yubel's doing when they fused together. Some of her personality would show sometimes. Though for Shadow, Yubel stood behind him as his ever faithful guardian with a small smirk on her face, knowing Jaden would fulfill on his promise for a Duel.

Chazz however was not pleased by these turn of events. But turned the frown into more of a smirk. "Who says im scared. Its more of the other way around really, Slifer Slacker." Chazz taunted. "I think you got off rather lucky defeating Dr. Crowler, but maybe we should see just how much luck you used up." Chazz continued. Syrus looked to Jaden with some concern. "Dont do it Jaden. We could get into trouble." Jaden was considering his words. Yubel sighed. 'Your new friend has a point. But this boy doesnt seem to get the hint to back off.'

Alexis looked at the two groups with utter confusion but then sighed heavily. "There he goes again. It seems Chazz isnt going to back off from this and will do what he can to humiliate your friend."

Again with the rules, she thought while internally groaning; it only brought up all the times she was forced to obey every command given to her; from Marik to Bakura, she was forced to turn against Yugi at those said-times. How helpless she was; being told what to do by someone who would abuse her powers for selfish deeds... She shook her head lightly, vanishing those thoughts. Shadow may not be wish-granter anymore, but she was a genie, nonetheless; having the same freewill as the humans: having the right to choose for herself. That is what made her independent.

However, that didn't mean Shadow would disobey the rule that was being given to her; but to be honest, she was curious, apart from the fact that she understood Academy protocol. Walking into the duel arena, it was bigger than she thought before they even entered the main building. Impressively well-made, it appears; almost like the arena where the exam took place. Her sightseeing was cut short, once she took sight of Jaden confronting what seems to be a few other Obelisks. All three, male. Apart from the lackies, Shadow took notice of a boy, a bit taller than Jaden, maybe by a few inches, paler, as well as his spiky, two-layered black hair, and the positioned black eyes directly beneath one of the layers' bangs.

As far as Shadow analyzed this boy, and his arrogant character, it only brought Seto Kaiba into resemblance of this one's smug-like attitude. She heard Alexis talk about this guy, now knowing his name as "Chazz". She only wondered what this Chazz's game is. Without a second thought, Shadow came to defense. "I wouldn't call it 'luck', Chazz. It's more like 'believing in what you can accomplish'", she pointed out in a casual albeit cunning demeanor with a light purr, from where she stood with Alexis, only a few feet away from the boys.

Chazz looked over to the girl and whom he noticed was Shadow and Alexis next to her. He only smirked at Shadow. "Oh yeah? Sounds like luck to me. Luck doesnt get you anywhere in this world. Its skill. One thing i doubt this Slifer Slacker has and im willing to prove you wrong." the Obelisk said to Shadow.

Jaden felt annoyed, something that rarely shown from him. Yubel felt it and agreed with emotions. 'A complete Seto Kaiba wannabe. Not a healthy goal for this runt. Maybe we should call him about this sort of impersonation.' Yubel thought aloud with a chuckle. Jaden just wamted to test Chazz. See if it would be just as fun dueling against him as he did when Dueling with Shadow against Crowler. "This Slifer Slacker has a name you know. Its Jaden Yuki." The brunette told Chazz felling sleightly insulted but was being light hearted about the ordeal but it seemed the raven haired boy before him didnt care. "Who cares. Its not like you have what it takes to be an expert Duelist."

Shadow sighed at Chazz's counter, almost feeling annoyed, baffled, and a little sad for his attitude. 'He doesn't believe in luck; guess 'hard work' and 'skill' work two-on-two for his part', she thought to Yubel, knowing that the she-demon was thinking of the same thing. "Skill is good to have, but who knows when a little sprinkle of luck can do?", she spoke back, still acting calm albeit a little direct. 'Please back off, Jaden', she pleaded to the brunette. 'We don't want to create any tension here, trust me. I know an arrogant duelist when I see one', that was all she requested of him. Even though the introduction to the school wasn't welcoming so far, they don't need any more of it from a certain Obelisk Blue. Shadow would challenge this raven-haired boy if she has to, but as a pacifist, she wouldn't.

"Uh, Chazz, you might want to be careful with her"
"Yeah, I've heard that she's reserved. As the Queen of Games, that is"

Jaden looked over toward Shadow when she telepathically pleaded with him to stop pursuing this course of path that he was taking. Granted he thought he was having harmless fun by trying to get him to Duel. He thought he would have fun dueling Chazz, but rather he noticed things escalating not to his advantage or not, Shadow normally had a good sense of judgement about things and what she explained was making enough sense to back off. He nodded to her and held his hands up in surrender towards Chazz. 'Okay. He seems so serious like Kaiba. Thought he would loosen up a little with a Duel.' Jaden told her. "Dude, its nothing to get worked over. So I may have gotten lucky. Im in this Academy and I wann stay." Jaden told Chazz.

This didnt please the teen and his so called friends werent helping. "Can it you too. Are seriously scared of a girl? So what if she is the Queen of Games! If she is then why is she at this Academy if she has such a Title!?" Chazz snapped at them, trying to prove a point. Alexis stepped forward with her arms crossed over her chest. "Thats enough Chazz. I believe you have a orintation dinner to attend to. It is required of you after all." This made Chazz stiffen but only to smirk. He motioned for his friends to follow him as he left. Alexis sighed as Syrus bowed to Alexis and Shadow. "Thank you for the help." Jaden scratched the back of his head with a sheepish smile as the larger Slifer student only sighed. 'Well at least we know this wont be the last of him.' Yubel pointed out to them. 'Lets hope he doesnt do anything drastic.' She continued.

Shadow felt almost relieved that Jaden was able to surrender, and that Alexis finally came into the picture, telling Chazz to back off before things could have gotten further. Guess in some instances, her new friend can be almost be like her; though only in a more "human" way. The former genie sighed once Chazz made his leave, but she was curious on what the orientation dinner was. Maybe she missed something after they first got to island. Shadow only had the urge to scratch the back of her head sheepishly, but she didn't. Only thinking about what it would be like.

"Um, I know this is sudden, but what's the orientation dinner?", she asked the blonde Obelisk next to her. Guess she did miss a thing or two after her recent enrollment.
