Connecting Collisions in Cyberspace Interspace
GM Notes:
- This is where I would word vomit every last singular detail and expectation for interested folks. I won't be doing that. Instead, I will say this is a reboot of a long spanning RP I've been crafting for the past several years. In recent months I've been able to write on my own, within the world itself which has allowed me to tweak things for my own novelization. I don't want this to be a mock trial for a novel by any means. I won't steal character ideas or anything like that. But as a note, if you are from my Corrected & Connected series, you will notice some different technology and terminology. Don't be afraid or anything. Below is a basic plot and if I get interested folks, I will be happy to give more information. I was on an extended hiatus and I hope to start some active stuff to get back into the habit of loving the Guild and those I befriend on it.
Basic Premise:
The future is not only bright, it's gleaming, shining.
Technology and medicine have been making leaps and bounds and as such, people have become more dependent on their cell phones. As they should, they are what keep them connected to everything around them. Their cell phones sync with a microchip which in turn, keep them alive. And while people can now access the internet anywhere across the bountiful world, hackers threaten the established peace. So governments across the world began to train recruits to secretly infatuate the online world. These people are paid very well for their service and are able to combat hackers and viruses and everything else that threaten to kill people or worse, steal their identity via their microchip access. We will be playing these skilled heroes, able to live double lives and ensure that peace is kept safe.
The setting will be London, 2026. We will be playing those native to England and the greater UK area. Our characters will be in their early to mid twenties with jobs of their own, lives of their own. Our characters will have been trained together years ago and as such, already know each other rather well. The characters themselves who are part of the British are called Correctors. No civilians know about their careers and Correctors are usually recruited at age 17 and are trained for a year under a more seasoned Corrector. Correctors typically have yearly contracts they renew, Correctors generally stay with the job for five to six years, though there is rumor that one or two Correctors have been around since the beginning, since the day of Unification ten years ago in 2016. It's possible to hide in the deepest realms of the digital landscape, where secrets can hide for as long as necessary.
Our Correctors see the world in black and white. They do not need to be excellent with technology and the Government often picks those with a strong moral compass, as opposed to those who are skilled with computers. They don't wish for their employees to get smart and use the technology for their own purposes after all, it's happened before and they don't want history to repeat itself. Our story begins with them being given another mission, a Collision has happened and they've got to go clean it up. A Collision is when a virus is detected and is targeting its victim, either a person or company, such as a bank. When on the scene, a mystery is presented to them, causing them to question the very people they have been working tirelessly for.
RP Requirements:
- You should be capable of posting 4-6 paragraphs per post.
- You should be able to work well with others and communicate any issues or concerns.
- You should also contribute to the plot and development of the story, I consider myself a benevolent GM who likes to work with her group than oversee it like a dictator.
- You should be able post in the IC once a week unless real life dictates otherwise. You're making a commitment to me and the group, I want it to be taken seriously. Of course real life comes first but see above requirement, you should keep us in the loop.
- You should lastly have fun, this story is nothing without its characters and the awesome writers behind them. Each writer should strive to push themselves as a writer but to also make this story enjoyable.
- You should expect to use an anime image for your character and her/his Corrector so keep that in mind when you mull over joining.
- - - A Digital Era - Save the Digital World!
