Hatake Toshiro: Suffering various injuries during one of the last battles of the preceding war, Toshiro continues to keep steady contact with his close friends despite retiring from active duty as a shinobi. Ultimately, Koyomi respects his decision to “retire” to the life of an Academy Instructor although she knows it has nothing to do with his competence in the field but rather other motives entirely.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Aburame Host: As children, Aburame are given to chakra insects (kikaichu) as hosts— the relationship is often seen as symbiotic, as the host gives a chakra-induced home to the insects in turn for their allegiance on the battlefield. As such this is the basis of the Aburame Clan’s techniques. Various species of the insects exist and Koyomi in time has come to be a host for the sandāchu brood as well. The sandāchu are known as lightning nature insects with their ability to create a static field when in a swarm which if used in conjunction with Koyomi’s lightning nature techniques can create tactical fields of elemental ninjutsu among other applications. The sandāchu’s bite is similar to that of their parent species though emitting the effect of being shocked by a spark of energy.
Chakra Potency: Even as a young child, Koyomi had a potent and high amount of chakra— though she didn’t learn to utilize and control it well into her years as a genin. Koyomi’s intelligent use rather than masterful control is what made her particularly dangerous.

Senju Midori:
Senju Hotsuma:
Yamanaka Inokari: Waifu
Kagetsu Kitanai: Childhood friend and long-time rival in the field of medical ninjutsu. Kitanai and Madarame have always had a positive relationship due to the fact Kitanai was fostered by his clan following the disaster that struck Kitanai’s village that left him effectively orphaned. Madarame sees him as his more ambitious and worldly brother. His disappearance has never bothered Madarame particularly, though he does wonder if the absence has been good for him.
Hyuga Yukio:
Kohaku Miyuki: Madarame’s Jonin-Sensei, and during her lifetime one of the principal medical-nin of Konohagakure. She perished in one of the last battles of the war, trying to protect her former students from an unseen threat that proved too powerful for them to handle. Madarame had a positive relationship with Miyuki as a sensei and as a friend— a fact that Narumi often joked relentlessly that he had a moronic crush on their mentor so much that he wanted to emulate her skills just to get noticed. Her death made Madarame rethink what it is to be a medical-nin and to do what he could to protect his village.
Uchiha Narumi: Recently was assassinated while traveling the countryside in the Land of Fire with her son, Tensai. Narumi was a childhood friend of Madarame’s and preceding her murder was the only other surviving member of their genin team following the war. Madarame is still reflecting on her death and who could’ve done such a thing and why.
Kurama Tomokazu: Killed twelve years ago during the tail end of the last war. Tomokazu was ideally Madarame’s closest friend and the blow was dealt relatively hard for both Narumi and Madarame when they found themselves not only without their sensei but without their comrade. It was a loss that Madarame personally blamed himself for and vowed to never be so impulsive in the heat of a battle where there were two other lives in conjunction of his own.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Chakra Control: Even in his youth, Madarame was particularly adept at using his chakra wisely and with specific precision; a fact that his family had encouraged him to direct towards a specialization in medical ninjutsu— a suggestion he distinctly ignored. Despite not having great chakra depths or affinities, Madrarame is a dangerous opponent to fight due to the fact he knows how to utilize his chakra intelligently and accuracy.
Wood Release: A hiden (or secret tradition techniques) for Senju who inherited water or earth chakra natures, they can ultimately utilize a unique elemental release known as Wood Release. Known as a unique elemental release that can suppress chakra among other marque features, Wood Release is an elemental release that Madarame has utilized effectively throughout the years on and off the battlefield. Madarame prefers to take a defensive approach with these techniques.
FOCUS & SKILLS
Kenjutsu: Madarame is the premier swordsman in Konohagakure, excelling beyond the preceding generation’s notable kenjutsu specialists. It is said that Madarame is the equal of any samurai, though such acclaim has never been tested on the field of battle. However, Madarame will state that his skill in swordsmanship is simply a product of the era he grew up in and had he not lived through the Shinobi Great War he would not have had the experience required to polish his skills. As a kenjutsu specialist, whilst he recognizes his own skill in the various forms he also happens to believe contemporaries such as Hozuki Chigetsu of Kirigakure could easily best him in a battle relying solely on swordsmanship. How much of this is humility and how much is fact is hard to say.
Medical Ninjutsu: Text!
General Ninjutsu: As a member of the Senju Clan, it is no surprise that Madarame has inherited many skills beyond his own individual talent with swordsmanship. In Ninjutsu, Madarame has utilized his clan’s marque affinity in that of Wood Release and various other ninjutsu techniques— in conjunction with his sword or without it Madarame can utilize a variety of techniques in a defensive or offensive fashion.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Madarame lives by a policy that a shinobi’s tools are his crux and his closest ally to prevent his comrades from harm. Whilst hardly an item expert he keeps his gear steadily equipped with shuriken, kunai, and other supplies such as the typically assigned wakizashi and his weapon of choice— a uchigatana.
Standing at four foot seven, Fukushu is pretty average for a girl of her age in height and stature. She has flowing purple hair that is most often strewn through a simple ponytail, and prefers practicality of appearance over superfluous exuberance— a preference that originates from her serious demeanor.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Fukushu was born as a daughter of vengeance, as a tool for Konohagakure. By all accords Fukushu has been raised with illogical ideals, abrasive ambitions, cynical assertions, and hateful pride; all traits that are surprising within the soul of a child of twelve years. These facts can all be traced back to one simple thing: her name. Fukushu is not masculine, feminine, or androgynous, it is a word that is literally translated to a terminology that has defined her before she even took her first step— vengeance. A sad reality of the time she was named and her mother’s own cynical outlook on life created the shadow that Fukushu would soon follow.
Beyond her given name, Fukushu’s mother also was quite vocal in raising her daughter in-between ANBU operations. Fukushu was told that she was expected to be greater than all of the shinobi of her generation; that her destiny was to bring down the murderer who killed her father and his immediate kin, removing the curse that followed her father’s clan for generations. Disheartening and overbearing as it was, Fukushu understood what her mother told her as she slowly began molding the weight of responsibility into an ambitious dedication as she trained meticulously even before her admission into the Konohagakure Academy. It was here that Fukushu’s perspective seemed to only distance herself from her friends and extended family; a sentiment Fukushu viewed as abandonment and turned towards abrasive spite as a response of this distance as she refused to ever believe it was her fault. Fukushu wrote it off with confidence, though she began to wonder what was wrong with her that others couldn’t support her and understand what she was doing was right. In time, the world became more and more lonely and she began to lash out at others and wither into a personality of hatred, aggression, envy, desperation, and abrasiveness.
But within Fukushu is a girl that is crying and trying to reach out despite her abrasive appearance; for she is only standoffish because she has had little loyalty, generosity, or kindness in her life considering she has only had duty and expectations brought upon her. For those that create a bond with Fukushu there is the possibility that she could connect to them in time and that her tactless comments, childish taunts, and icy demeanor could fade as she truly finds people she feels at home with— people she trusts. But for the moment, Fukushu is as is because she is hard to interact with and impossible to relate to as per other student’s beliefs.
CLAN HISTORY
A rough or detailed recent history of your dynastic clan. For world-building.
PERSONAL HISTORY
The daughter of Namikaze Ayano and Lee Tetsuya, Fukushu was destined to have many burdens upon her shoulders. Nearing the end of the war, tragedy occurred shortly after Fukushu’s inception—her father’s death. So it was here that Fukushu’s mother became unmarried, alone, and enraged by the villains who took the man she loved from her. Out of anger and hatred she looked to the birth of her daughter as an opportunity and subsequently named the child after her internal emotions that she desired: revenge.
Fukushu was raised solely by her mother and had a childhood where a large shadow loomed over her as her mother threw out expectations of a design towards her daughter; a daughter who saw these expectation and meeting them as the only way to satisfy her mother and as a byproduct earn her affection. So it was here that Fukushu dedicated herself with every fiber of her being to meeting her mother’s overbearing perfectionist demands. Whether it was a simple errand or a grueling challenge there would be no doubt in Fukushu’s mind that she would obtain it until success—failure was never an option. A fact that Fukushu in time was entirely unrealistic upon meeting some of her peers; some of which excelling far above her. A fact that nearly shattered her world view. But she carried on as she entered the Konohagakure Academy and dedicated herself, even at a young age, to the art of a shinobi. There was no room for other hobbies in her life; a sentiment that would have social consequences as some of her friends began to distance themselves from her.
Her time in the academy continued to bode poorly for her socially, though Fukushu tried to appear that it she cared not for such things. There was no room in her life for friends who couldn’t understand her or see why her ambitions were just.
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Lee Tetsuya: Despite never knowing her father, the shadow of who he was and his inevitable fate is something Fukushu has thought on since she was effectively old enough to comprehend such things. Her mother, Ayano, named her Fukushu as a notation of her purpose— to avenge Lee Tetsuya no matter what it takes and how hard it may seem to achieve. Fukushu was never told much about Tetsuya’s personality so she has a rather minimalistic perspective in earnest about him; she doesn’t know or even realize Tetsuya was an optimistic practitioner of the “will of fire” nor does she know he was a person who would’ve never endorsed his daughter becoming his avenger.
Namikaze Ayano: Fukushu’s relationship with her mother is… difficult. Having been told that she was a “shinobi of vengeance” and held the sole responsibility of being the best of her shinobi generation have had a devastating impact on Fukushu’s ideals and mindset— and by extension that of her relationship with the woman who brought her to life. As a result, Fukushu takes a lot after her mother’s demeanor and believes her tasks are normal expectations to be asked of her despite them being contrary to that fact. Fukushu likes to think her mother cares for her but sometimes she wonders if she’s nothing more than a tool in her mother’s arsenal.

“I respect her, but she will not outpace me.”
In terms of physical conditioning and taijutsu, Fukushu considers Kiri as her rival; though she is hardly as sardonic to her as she is to Uchiha Tensai. She respects the work Kiri puts in and finds her as “good competition”, though she ultimately is also seen as another benchmark to meet.
“Nobody is tougher than Miko. Nobody.”
--
“How is she allowed to be a shinobi when she cannot even breathe without help?”
Fukushu’s relationship with Tsume goes back to when she met her observing the Dojo of Senju Yaguruma on what was typically a mundane afternoon of observational training. It was here that Fukushu convinced Tsume to becoming her newfound sparring partner and fundamental punching bag. A normal child would’ve seen Fukushu’s ruthless conditioning as unfair among other things but for some reason Tsume endured and actually impressed Fukushu with her resilience. Fukushu still thinks her physical illness will prevent her from being a worthy rival, however.

“He will fail as a genin; just like he failed at protecting his mother from death. Tch.”
In Fukushu’s mind there is only one way to describe Uchiha Tensai: the enemy. Told by her mother that she is a lesser shinobi if she is outdone by a bastard and effectively not living up to her purpose, Fukushu has since Tensai bested her the first time considered him her eternal rival and nemesis; only second to the man who killed her father, Kurai Heishi. She continues to mock, insult, and antagonize Tensai at every turn. Additionally, taking into account that all of his accolades are “accidents” per her perspective and not products of hard work it deepens her animosity by the tenfold. Tensai has attempted to be kind and respectful, but it has not changed Fukushu’s actions or perspective.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Chakra Control: Fukushu was taught the importance of chakra control when she was old enough to comprehend it by her mother, Ayano, who educated her informally alongside Fukushu’s studies at the shinobi academy. By the time the genin exams were issued to academy students she had been trained to utilize it with little issue, though she could easily be outclassed by those who are naturally gifted with controlling their chakra.
Physical Conditioning: Fukushu’s upbringing was particularly harsh and expectations led her to prioritize pushing herself physically and mentally over social interactions and normal tasks. This physical conditioning was done with no mentor or instructor, but rather observation of training regiments of local taijutsu specialists and pushing herself through relentless physical tasks such as timed runs around the village or dynamic exercises. Despite this conditioning Fukushu is not nearly as defined as contemporaries in her own age group such as Matsudaira Kiri. A fact that has driven Fukushu to try harder in recent weeks.
Sign Memorization: The most important skill for an aspiring shinobi is memorization of the twelve chakra hand seals otherwise known as “hand signs” by the less astute. For Fukushu, it is her memorization of these seals that are her greatest asset even considering her above-average chakra control and independent conditioning of her body.
FOCUS & SKILLS
Taijutsu: Fukushu has observed the experts of taijutsu in Konohagakure for many years; a fact that has resulted in Fukushu’s aptitude within the form. Despite the difficulties she originally had during the final year of her time at the shinobi academy she has pieced together techniques that borrow from the Senju Clan’s (and by extension the Lee Clan) school of taijutsu. This can be seen in her usage of techniques such as Cherry Blossom Impact—though Fukushu has a habit of overextending herself and burning more chakra than is necessary for the technique.
Ninjutsu: Taking her mother’s comments and challenges to heart, Fukushu understands that ninjutsu is important not just for a shinobi but for a Namikaze. Whilst she has not unlocked or learned any of the clan’s surreptitious techniques or attributes (such as space-time ninjutsu) she has taken to heart the concept that her taijutsu should be just as good as her ninjutsu. In learning about her water nature chakra, Fukushu has found herself able to utilize the water clone technique before leaving the academy—a feat that even Hatake Toshiro stated was impressive. Fukushu intends to expand her elemental ninjutsu as a genin.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Fukushu is not an item specialist, so she generally is limited to her generic shinobi tools and supplements such as minor scrolls and salves. Her education in item development was limited, but it is a skill she has interest in expanding more given it was one of the harder things to comprehend given her limited intelligence regarding the subject. But until then she will have a few kunai, shuriken, smoke bombs, and Wakizashi in her kit alone.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Sharingan: Shinatobe, unsurprisingly, wields the marque dojutsu of her clan in its full maturity. Her capabilities with the trademark eye of her people are impressive even by standards of the elite Uchiha, with a mastery over both aspects of the Sharingan beyond her years. The drain it levies upon her body and chakra reserves, after over a decade of practice, is miniscule at best, with indefinite activation a viable option if she so chose it.
With the Eye of Insight, she is able to see with unmatched visual clarity to a level microscopic in scale, detect the presence of chakra and its composition, process visual frames with speed that defy human capabilities and predict physical motion before it occurs by reading minute muscular movements. The Sharingan's ability to analyze is so great that she is able to perfectly mimic an opponent's actions and commit them to memory, copying everything from handwriting, to fighting styles and even ninjutsu with simple observance.
With the Eye of Hypnosis, Shinatobe is capable of manipulating the perception of her opponent with a glimpse. Their ability to experience time, the very sensations they feel and their memories are left to her whims should eye contact be established. So high is the illusionary prowess of Shinatobe's eye that lesser illusions are unable to effect her whilst it is active, with such trickery seen through and dispelled instantly.
Chakra Potency: The descendants of the Uchiha clan are known to possess chakra of exceptional strength. Shinatobe did not stray from this universal truth. Her chakra is both noted to be high in its potency and tremendous in its depth, a fact she utilizes to its fullest by unleashing destructive torrents of ninjutsu with less care for her reserves than her contemporaries may need to have.
Nature & Shape Manipulation: The ability to manipulate chakra and infuse it with elements is a hallmark of ninjutsu users. Shinatobe is a kuniochi that excels in this particular field. Her natural adeptness at changing the shape and composition of her chakra allows her to alter or otherwise "tweak" techniques to fit her needs at any given time. This innate gift also provides her a deeper understanding of how individual elements interact, leading her to develop a trademark style of enhancing her technique's effectiveness by using them in tandem.
FOCUS & SKILLS
A brief idea of skills your character leans toward and the like, no need to go into huge detail; needed for understanding of moderation staff for balancing issues. How does your character fight? Do they lean to Taijutsu or Ninjutsu? You get it.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Shinatobe equips herself with a wide range of weaponry, although little of it externally. Sealed within her armbands is a virtual armoury of shinobi tools. Kunai, senbon, shuriken both regular and fuma, explosive tags, smoke bombs, wire and foldings fans sit at her fingertips at any given moment. Upon her person she keeps a small selection of the above in various holsters upon her body, as well as a traditional daishō. The blades, forged of fine steel and bearing the seal of the Uchiha clan, are identical with the exception of their lengths, and find a place strung upon her hip.
Typically sealed away with her equipment, the final piece in her arsenal is massive, ritual Uchiwa Gunbai. Said to be carved of a rare, chakra infused wood long ago, the weapon is nearly indestructible and the catalyst for most of Shinatobe's wind ninjutsu. It is banded in sturdy black iron along its edges, and tipped with a razor sharp spike, allowing her to use it as a mace, shield and spear. Cordage is sometimes wrapped around its handle to allow her to swing it as a flail.
JUTSU
Obvious list is obvious. Link to the Naruto wiki as well.
Mitsuko is a girl of slight build, a mere four foot four inches in height and thinner than many of her contemporaries. Her child-like face, usually sporting a kind, if somewhat nervous expression, is framed by strands of rich mahogany hair. Silky and flowing like most of her kin, the dark mop upon her head twists and curls into unruly waves the farther out it grows, only styled enough to keep it presentable to the public eye. Its color contrasts quite abruptly with the alabaster tone that is her skin, only a few shades warmer than the pair of featureless silver hues that are her eyes. It is marred by nary a scar or blemish, with the exception of her clan’s distinctive jūinjutsu, whose teal lines cut an abrasive path across her forehead and mark her for what she is.
Her wardrobe is fitting for one of her station. Long-sleeved tunics of silk in a range of muted colors worn over tighter, darker sleeveless shirts cover her upper body and allow her the mobility required to perform her duties without compromising the elegance of her clan, nor violate the modesty of the branch family. Longer, baggier trousers of a hakama styling keep her legs covered and keep with the theme of flowing, movement encouraging clothing. They are held up by sashes black or brown in coloration, which also serve as the anchoring point for the various holsters, pouches and satchels that hold her gear. Gauze wraps around her ankles and open toed, black shoes round out her humdrum attire fittingly, generic and utilitarian as the rest.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Shy, meek, withdrawn. These words can all be used to draw initial conclusions to whom Mitsuko is. A quiet wallflower, fit to be seen and not heard by her peers and elders alike. In many ways, these assumptions are true. If there was to be an outgoing part of whom she is, Mitsuko has long since had this part of her stifled by the strings of fate, molded instead to passivity and inaction within the social sphere. Yet, this tendency towards non-expression is not born of disinterest in others. Mitsuko is, at her core, a sweet and empathetic girl. She would simply much rather listen to the boasts and woes of others than voice her own to them. Nurturing to a fault, the girl often finds herself fussing over the very few individuals whom she considers friends, as to strike up a relationship with one such as she is a deed of great charity, and ensures they are treasured dearly by her.
It isn't hard to make the jump from there that Mitsuko lacks not only for assertiveness, but for confidence as well. Whilst she does not loathe herself, she views herself, and by proxy her actions and accomplishments, as lesser. This is in many ways a learned behavior as much as it is twisted modesty, as part of her upbringing has taught her that her life is to be dedicated in service to her betters. It causes her no great deal of angst or suffering to accept this position, and often she relishes in the opportunity to afford others a place in the limelight, giving up any glory she may attain by purposefully tapering her performances below the expected output of her companions. It may be here that one of her most noted flaws stands; to be charitable is something to strive for, but Mitsuko is the type of soul to give and give even at her own expense. To light herself ablaze to keep others warm, as the saying goes.
Her dreams and ambitions therefore lay not in achieving a position of great power or prestige within the village, but in finding her purpose by assisting others. Her disdain for causing others pain and undue suffering, whilst counterproductive to the path a kuniochi must walk, when combined with her natural inclination to nurture, has led her into the earliest stages of medical specialization. If she were to place a singular goal down for herself to achieve, it would simply be to reach a suitable mastery in the fields of medicine to do the clan of Hyūga proud, and provide her generous benefactors a useful tool for the burdens she brings them by way of existing.
CLAN HISTORY
A rough or detailed recent history of your dynastic clan. For world-building.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Mitsuko was born with either the fortune, or misfortune depending upon one’s world view, to the Hyūga clan just over a decade ago. Her parents, two fairly unimportant members of the clan’s lowest and most numerous cast, sealed her fate from the moment she drew breath in the world. She was bound by the threads of fate to serve, not lead, regardless of what path she may have chose to walk in her later years. When she was merely two years of age, barely old enough to toddle at her mother's side, the seal of the caged bird found purchase upon her forehead like so many others. The clan watched on as another generation, the first to be free of war in decades, was turned to chattel.
Yet time moved forward as usual. It would be a lie to say that her life in the earliest years she can remember was remarkable in any way. She played and learned as children did, isolated far from her betters and kept among the others who had received her marking, totally unaware of the scorn levied upon her from the highest echelons of the clan’s insular society. By way of her parents she was taught the rich traditions of their people, as well as the expectations that she would conform to as one so lucky to be blessed by her lineage. Originally, she had no intentions of becoming a member of the greater village’s military. Indeed, she had only the foggiest ideas of what ninjahood was, learned in passing from adults and teens alike returning to the branch quarters after missions.
Fate worked in mysterious ways, however, and it was around the age of six that the seeds would plant themselves in her mind. By then she had asked of her father what exactly his job as a shinobi entailed, with a rather harsh rebuke following suit that soured her to the very idea. Even without it, the concept of purposefully harming others was abhorrent to the youngling and her nativity to the world. But visit by the main branch made to change that impression. Normally, when the main branch arrived in all their splendor, for whatever reason, Mitsuko would be squared away by her mother to toil on some chore or another, kept out of sight and out of mind of her superiors, to watch from a distance if she was so bold as they did their business in her corner of the world.
This time was different. The oldest child of the clan's patriarch had personally come to the glorified servant district herself for one reason or another, and along the way stumbled upon the bashful child in the midst of the chaos surrounding her arrival. Though the poor girl could barely squeak out replies in her shyness, the heiress spoke kind words to her, asking if she had intentions to also pursue a career in the ways of the kuniochi. Her honest response was met not by the praise she expected for her humbleness, but instead by knowledge. To be a ninja meant not for one to only harm, but to help others as well. Medical ninjutsu, she was told it was called, a subset of the broader tree that was fitting for somebody sweet as she.
By the time this woman left, Mitsuko had her interest piqued and her wilted confidence stoked to a dull roar. Experience told her she would be punished for being so audacious as to speak with such a venerated soul. To her surprise, in the later hours of that fateful day, she was not. Instead her parents sat her down in their humble kitchen and gave her the option; she could carry on her life as it was now, or enroll into the ninja academy and begin evening training sessions with her father to learn the clan’s signature style. Head swimming in fantasies of grandeur brought on by the gentle encouraging of the clan’s heir, she chose the latter. So excited was she that even her keen eyes could not see the disdain on their faces.
The next several years proved aptitude if nothing else. Mitsuko did well enough on her entrance examination to be accepted immediately into the academy, with stern lectures and rigorous training exercises in the dusk hours by her sire keeping her sharper than most if her less lucky classmates, whilst the same modesty instilled by them kept her in the average marking group. She spent many of her days with a nose buried in scrolls and books, literature she had access to in the schools that she could not hope to own at home. A target for bullies who sniffed out those who would not fight back, Mitsuko was spurned from taking the initiative on matters social, earning only a few cherished friends over her many years in the academy. Passing the final examination was of no great difficulty for her, an expectation that she could not bear to fail in proving right if anything.
Now she awaits, with nervous excitement in her belly, to step forward into the ninja world and make proud those few who encouraged her to walk the path.
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Hyūga, Hideyoshi: A man of stern face and strict morals, Hideyoshi is Mitsuko's father. He has spent the majority of the young girl's life as a steady and uncompromising presence that ensured she learned the importance of discipline and loyalty to the clan, especially with their position as branch members. Mitsuko does not harbor a particularly close relationship with her dour patriarch, but still loves him and understands that circumstances of fate shape his behaviour.
Hyūga, Saya: Yielding and soft spoken, Says is Mitsuko's mother and a far cry from her husband. She is a caring and empathetic woman who treasures her child. It is Saya's subtle sweetness that perhaps is the most palpable inherited trait that Mitsuko possesses. She has been supportive of the path her daughter walks since her first days, and as such, she holds the place as Mitsuko's closest confidant.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Byakugan: Contrary to popular belief, Mitsuko possesses a potent mastery of the Byakugan for somebody of her age and pedigree. She is capable of seeing up to 40 meters in a 360° sphere around her, accurately pinpoint tenketsu along a target's chakra network, seeing through obstacles which would blind lesser kekkei genkai and tracking fast moving objects with heightened visual focus. Her skill with the Byakugan allows her to hold the dojutsu for long periods of time without succumbing to physical exhaustion, but extensive usage still strains her eyes.
Chakra Control: The Hyūga clan is renown for the control their shinobi hold over chakra. Mitsuko is certainly no exception to this piece of lore. Her chakra control is considered exceptionally precise for even a shinobi of the landmark clan. This allows her to ration out her chakra with next to no waste in performing whatever technique she so chooses, as well as contribute to the effectiveness of her Gentle Fist strikes.
FOCUS & SKILLS
As a scion of the Hyūga, it is no surprise that Mitsuko is well versed in the field of taijutsu. She has a working knowledge of the clan's trademark Gentle Fist style, which she uses exclusively during engagements. Boasting an impressive mastery over both her chakra and the Byakugan for her age, she is capable of accurately targeting and closing the tenketsu of her opponent, leading to the disruption of their ability to mould chakra and the disabling of the body parts associated with each tenketsu.
The debilitating nature of even light strikes using her clan's style has lead Mitsuko to focus the majority of her training on the speed of her attacks over their overall strength, and the reflexes required to successfully land them over endurance. She is quite successful in this regard, among one of the quickest in her generation, although her fragility is noted.
With a keen interest in medicine, Mitsuko has dedicated the majority of her studies to the arts of healing. While her inexperience prevents her from performing any actual medical ninjutsu, she is more than capable of providing first aid to herself and her contemporaries to stabilize them until more thorough care can be provided. Her memorization of human anatomy, in conjunction with her Byakugan, allows her to more accurately understand how the physiology of the body is intertwined with the chakra network. As a result, her Gentle Fist strikes tend to assail the nervous system more harshly than one would expect of a novice.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Mitsuko arms herself with the basics one would expect of a shinobi. Kunai, shuriken, smoke bombs and explosive tags all make an appearance among her personal armoury, kept both in her hip pouch and a variety of holsters. She also carries a medical kit on her hip, stocked with the supplies required for an aspiring field medic to provide aid.
A genjutsu primarily devised to aid in giving medical assistance. By disrupting their flow of chakra, the user manipulates the affected person's sense of touch. Pain signals to the brain are scrambled, leaving the target unable to feel even the most agonizing of wounds and operations. This allows the medical ninja to do their work unhindered without anaesthesia.

Description
Utilizing the Hyūga clan's innate ability to expel chakra from all of their tenketsu at will, the user builds up chakra in a singular point along their chakra network. They then release this chakra in a quick burst, usually from the feet, to rapidly accelerate in the chosen direction. The versatility of the technique is immense, with usages ranging from mid-air repositioning to rapid limb movement.
As is typical among the Murakumo clan, young Mikoto is blessed with a head of golden blonde hair and brilliant crimson eyes. Due to the Murakumo's ventures into the realm of fashion, and Mikoto's father's position as a member of the Murakumo's crafting branch, Mikoto is known to dress rather finely for a ninja. However, most important to her is her cape, which she makes an effort to wear at all times. While Mikoto is by many accounts "cute", and the spitting image of her mother, it is not uncommon to find the young Murakumo affecting some sort of glare. When engaged in combat, Mikoto has a tendency to cover the lower half of her face with a mask.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Headstrong and confident, Mikoto shows hot-bloodedness in spades. Mikoto can be more than a little abrasive, especially when faced with those who underestimate her skills or disrespect her (or her friends) in any way. As one who seeks to prove her skills against others, Mikoto will rarely, if ever, back down from a challenge. As such, she can be a bit of a showoff, never hesitating to throw taunting remarks when she has the upper hand.
While Mikoto has a hard time making friends her own age due to her bluster, she is actually quite doting on those whom she considers her comrades, much as she'll deny it herself. That being said, she gets flustered rather easily by praise, or general displays of affection from others, so she'll often exit such situations to save face if it proves to be too much.
CLAN HISTORY
The Murakumo are a fairly long-standing clan made up of two branches. One of the branches is known as the 'Clothier's Branch", wherein the members focus on the art of sewing and other methods of clothes-making. It is typically the members of this branch that are tasked with sewing and fitting the vestments for the Hokage, and it is seen as one of the highest honors as a member of the clan to be the clothier selected for such a task. While members of the Clothier's Branch do not typically join Konohagakure's shinobi forces, they are still taught Murakumo Clan Ninpo for the sake of self-defense purposes. Complementing this branch is the "Shears' Branch", from which many of the clan's shinobi originate. Among the clan, the two branches are considered equal, with the Clothier's Branch providing the Murakumo with economic power, and the Shears' Branch providing fighting power to the clan and Konohagakure as a whole.
It should be noted that, while the Murakumo are usually more concerned with more extravagant, fashionable pieces, they do also have the responsibility of producing Konoha's flak jackets and the handling of uniform repair. During war time, it has been common that the Clothier's Branch focuses most of their effort on this particular duty.

INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Within your clan and the academy/village.
Murakumo Tsubame: Mikoto's mother, and ultimately the one she most wants to surpass. Mikoto admires Tsubame's skill, and her work for the village as an ANBU operative. Ultimately, much as she will deny such is the case, she wishes Tsubame would spend more time with her. As such, Mikoto looks back on the days when Tsubame would train her fondly.
Murakumo Hokuto: Mikoto's father and easily her biggest fan. Once Tsubame threw herself back into full-on active duty, Hokuto went from doting dad, to incredibly doting dad. Hokuto is responsible for much of Mikoto's fashion sense, and she in turn serves as a muse for his work. While Mikoto finds him embarrassing at times, she couldn't ask for a better dad.
Murakumo Kanna: Mikoto's aunt, younger sister to Tsubame. Much like Hokuto, Kanna had served as a source of support for young Mikoto, as well as the one who would at least try and get Mikoto to get along with her fellow students. Much like Tsubame, Kanna serves as a goalpost to pass, as her aunt has remained a noteworthy kenjutsu user even despite her decision to become an academy instructor.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Murakumo NinpoA practitioner of Murakumo-ryu Ninpo, a system belonging to the Murakumo Clan said to "Embody the Skies and the Greater Heavens themselves". Divided into Ittoryu (Single-Sword Style), Nitoryu (Two-Sword Style), Shurikenjutsu (Shuriken Techniques) and Itojutsu (Thread Techniques) at the greater level, both the Nitoryu and Ittoryu are further subdivided into three "branches" of skills, with most practitioners pushed to be versed in the use of each:
Yumaiarashi(Heroic Storm): Easily the most straightforward of the branches in theory and execution. Yumaiarashi sword techniques are meant primarily to overwhelm the opponent with speed, never giving them a chance to breathe as the practitioner mounts strike upon strike before they can adequately defend. Many of the more advanced techniques in this tree require one to be versed in the use of Lightning and/or Wind chakra natures.
Kosuizuki(Cunning Moon): Techniques akin more to assassination techniques than straight swordplay. Techniques from the Kosuizuki branch involve misdirection or combining genjutsu with swordplay in order to allow strikes to land true.
Mabushiiyo(Dazzling Sun): Likely tied in sheer straightforwardness with the Yumaiarashi branch techniques, Mabushiiyo sword techniques apply Fire nature chakra to strikes for the express purpose of obliterating an enemy (or several enemies) in a single blow.
As Mikoto is still young, however, she is far from mastering the full range of skills that Murakumo Ninpo has to offer, though she has shown a particular affinity for Yumaiarashi branch skills and shurikenjutsu.
FOCUS & SKILLS
As a member of the Murakumo's Shears' Branch, Mikoto is trained in the arts of Kenjutsu, Shurikenjutsu and Ninja Wires. As such, Mikoto tends to prefer melee ranges, supplementing her swordplay with smart use of ninja tools.
A shurikenjutsu where the user prepares at least one hand (though, preferably two) of shuriken, imbuing them with lightning nature chakra before throwing them at the target. Said shuriken are thrown in such a way as to bounce off of each other, scattering in mid-flight in order to cover as many avenues of escape as possible. Upon striking an enemy the discharge of electricity through the shuriken causes the target to be stunned, leaving them open for potential followup strikes in the ensuing disorientation. Due to this, the technique is best reserved as an opening attack during engagements, or when conducting an ambush.

Description
Employing the principles of Shunshin no Jutsu, the user closes in with extreme speed and delivers a strike with their blade. The speed of the attack both makes it hard to block, and increases the damage of the blow, making it deadlier than its simplicity would imply. However, it is fairly easy to dodge due to the fact that the user can't change direction in the middle of the attack.

APPEARANCE
Disheveled seems to be the word most people seem to come up with if they were to describe Kitanai's appearance. Despite standing at a taller than average 5'11", he seems to have picked up the habit of slouching in the years after the Shinobi Great War. If it weren't for this aforementioned aloofness, Kitanai could be regarded as handsome. He retains a head of medium length brown hair that matches the color of his eyes and the hint of a stubble he gets when he goes too long without shaving. As is typical of shinobi, especially those who have spent years training extensively in taijutsu, Kitanai has a well toned and lean physique.
Clothing wise, Kitanai dons the typical Konoha shinobi uniform consisting of a flak jacket over a black bodysuit. He keeps his forearms down to his fingers bandaged in white cloth, first picking up the habit to hide a variety of bruises and stitches amassed throughout his taijutsu training but maintained over the years out of familiarity. Regardless of how recently the man claims to have washed them, his garments seem to retain a trace of mismatched stains consisting of grass, mud and dirt. The only parts of his uniform that he ensures are in immaculate condition are his crimson headband which he is never seen without and the large symbol of his family occupying a sizable position on the back of his jacket.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Kitanai has always been a particularly earnest person, even in his youth, where he all but demanded attention through his exuberant enthusiasm and ambitions to become Hokage. Luckily for most of his peers, Kitanai seems to have calmed down immensely over the years. Perhaps due to his humble origins compared to most shinobi, Kitanai is remarkably approachable and easygoing for such a high ranking individual. Though some of his abilities would lead most to think otherwise, Kitanai has long claimed to be more of a healer rather than a fighter. Some of his peers have criticized him for this, even going as far as to claim Kitanai is avoiding the realities of life as a shinobi due to the losses and ordeals he faced in the war. These accusations aren't entirely false, as Kitanai has always been a fiercely loyal individual who very much wears his heart on his sleeve, and has becoming something of a hopeless idealist in adulthood. However, he is more than aware that the odds of peace on Earth are little to none. For now he remains cautiously optimistic for the future after a generation of darkness, and prays that those who lived through it won't repeat past mistakes.
CLAN HISTORY
Originating in a mountainous village some miles inland of the Land of Fire's border with the Land of Grass, the Kagetsu come from a long line of world leading herbalists. They have called Motoyoshi Village their home since the settlement's founding, and became something akin to village heads along the way. Kiken, the patriarch of the family, was raised during a time when his home was occupied by the Land of Iron, and subsequently isolated himself and his fellow citizens from the ensuing Great Shinobi War. His wife, Kitsui, herself an immigrant from the Land of Iron, ran the family shop. Despite Kiken's efforts to maintain neutrality, war came to Motoyoshi Village and Kitanai's home was razed to the ground by shinobi of Iwagakure. Following this event, Kitanai is the only known survivor of the Kagetsu bloodline.
PERSONAL HISTORY
◈ 84 CE: Kitanai is born in the months following the Land of Fire's victory over the Land of Iron.
◈ 87 CE: The Shinobi Great War begins in earnest, Motoyoshi Village maintains neutrality.
◈ 91 CE: Motoyoshi Village is attacked by shinobi of Iwagakure. Kitanai's parents both perish in the assault, but ensure their son and a band of refugees escape.
◈ 91 CE: The survivors of Motoyoshi arrive in Konoha. After showing the potential to manipulate his chakra, Kitanai is enrolled in the village's Ninja Academy and fostered by the Senju Clan. He quickly becomes inseparable from his foster brother, Hotsuma, and a fellow student, Lee Tetsuya. He begins his tutelage under both Yaguruma, the Senju Clan's elder and famed taijutsu master, and Kureha, his foster mother and head of Konoha's medic corps.
◈ 95 CE: Kitanai passes his graduation exam and becomes a Genin. He is placed in a four man squad alongside Namikaze Yoshiharu and Hyūga Tsugumi. They are placed under the leadership of an Iburi Jōnin named Satoshi.
◈ 95-101 CE: Team Satoshi serves in the Shinobi Great War. Kitanai hones his skills as both a medical nin and a taijutsu specialist. He slowly becomes friends with his teammates and eventually enters a relationship with Tsugumi. Somewhere during this time, Kitanai is promoted to the rank of Chūnin.
◈ 101 CE: Kitanai and his teammates are present in Konohagakure for the Day of Fallen Leaves. He survives the conflict while saving a number of his peers on the battlefield. He learns of his friend Tetsuya's death soon after. He is devastated by the news.
◈ 101 CE: After the Shinobi Great War comes to an end, Kitanai leaves the Hidden Leaf Village to wander the countryside of the Land of Fire as a traveling doctor. The Fifth Hokage lists him as something of a Missing-nin.
◈ 106 CE: Kitanai comes across Tsume during his years as a vagabond doctor. He successfully diagnoses her condition and delivers her to the Hidden Leaf Village, ensuring her survival. While in the village, Kitanai is summoned to Kikyō Castle by the Hokage. He is given a top secret mission to investigate the whereabouts of his former sensei, Satoshi. He reluctantly accepts.
◈ 106-111 CE: Kitanai is seen in a variety of locations throughout the Land of Fire. Ranging from the country's capital city, the Fire Temple, and Mount Katsuragi, nobody is certain what Kitanai is doing during this time.
◈ 112 CE: With Shinichi's death and Tsugumi's coronation as the Sixth Hokage, Kitanai returns to the Hidden Leaf for the first time in six years. To the chagrin of the village elders, Tsugumi promotes her former teammate to the rank of Jōnin and names him the leader of a Genin squad.
◈ Between 101-112 CE: After years of observing the Hyūga Clan's secret techniques on the battlefield, Kitanai applied principles of Gentle Fist into his own fighting style to greatly enhance his strength with chakra. However he also came up with the idea to effectively "miniaturize" the Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven. The ensuing experiments with shape transformation resulted in the invention of what is now Kitanai's signature technique: the Rasengan.
Born only days after the passing of the Third Hokage, Kitanai was one of the first children born in the generation that would have seemingly their entire lives defined by war. For the first three years of Kitanai's life however, the Five Great Shinobi Countries maintained an uneasy peace. Even when war broke out in 87 CE, Motoyoshi Village remained a safe haven of neutrality thanks to the leadership of Kitanai's father, Kiken. As such, Kitanai knew little of the tragedies occuring outside of his home until Motoyoshi Village was razed to the ground four years into the conflict. When asked, Kitanai claims to remember little of the ordeal. What matters, he says, is that both his parents ended up dead and he made his way, alongside a group of refugees, to the Village Hidden in the Leaves.
Upon his arrival in Konoha, Kitanai was the only child from his village that showed the aptitude to manipulate chakra, and was subsequently placed in the Leaf's Ninja Academy at the age of eight. Kitanai's years in the Academy were difficult, to say the least. He was one of the only students not to come from a pre-established ninja clan, making him something of a black sheep in his class. He also had little in the way of natural talent, meaning he had to work twice as hard as his peers just to get average grades. This of course left Kitanai with little time to make friends. At least, until he was challenged by Senju Hotsuma and Lee Tetsuya.
Kitanai of course lost the spar against his more experienced classmates, but when the two offered to bring him to their taijutsu dojo to meet their master, Kitanai accepted. The rest, as they say, is history. Kitanai credits this encounter and his subsequent enrollment under Hotsuma's grandfather and clan elder, Yaguruma at the Strong Fist Taijutsu Dojo for effectively kick-starting his progression as a shinobi.
Years later, Kitanai would pass the academy's graduation exam and become a Genin. Kitanai cites the day he received his forehead protector from Yaguruma and officially entered Konoha's Ninja Registry as one of the proudest moments of his life. However, all was not well, as the self-proclaimed "Golden Trio of the Hidden Leaf" was effectively dissolved, as their members were split amongst three separate four man squads. Kitanai ended up under the tutelage of a Jōnin by the name of Iburi Satoshi alongside his classmates Namikaze Yoshiharu and Hyūga Tsugumi. A sensei he knew nothing about and two comrades who he'd had little more than passing interactions with before then. Much like the whole of his academy days, Kitanai was once again the odd man out on his Genin team.
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Kagetsu Kiken: Born and raised during a time when Motoyoshi Village was occupied by the Land of Iron, Kiken nonetheless continued the Kagetsu family tradition of becoming a master herbalist and medical practitioner. Eventually, Kiken would become a leader to Motoyoshi village and grow very world weary. Nonetheless, he was loved by his family and respected by his fellow citizens. Though not a shinobi by any means, Kiken would stay behind during the raid on his hometown in an attempt to secure his family's safety.
Kagetsu Kitsui: As far as Kitanai was concerned, his mother was a simple immigrant from the Land of Iron. Unbeknownst to her son however, Kitsui was a member of the Samurai occupying force stationed at Motoyoshi Village during the peak of the Land of Iron's power. She would meet Kitanai's father after the man patched her up following a liberation attempt by Konoha shinobi. The two would marry soon after the war's end, with Kitsui swearing never to draw her sword again, a promise she would make good on for nearly a decade. Kitsui would sacrifice herself to ensure her son's survival when their band of refugees was set upon by Iwagakure Shinobi in the aftermath of the attack on their village.
Senju Yaguruma: While he holds no animosity towards the elder Senju, Kitanai and Yaguruma did not get off to a good start when Kitanai first arrived in Konoha. Hotsuma, eager as he was to introduce Kitanai to his family, brought him to his grandfather's Strong Fist Dojo of Taijutsu. Although Kitanai became one of the dojo's top pupils, the old man has always referred to him as "soft", especially so after Kitanai began to spend more and more time around his daughter-in-law, taking more interest in medical ninjutsu than his Strong Fist style of Taijutsu. Kitanai likes to tell himself that deep down, Yaguruma must hold some semblance of respect for his accomplishments.
Senju Hidorama: TBD
Senju Kureha: A second mother of sorts, it was the matriarch of the Senju household that introduced and tutored Kitanai in the intricacies of medical ninjutsu at a young age, honing his gift for chakra control in the process. She has often spoken of Kitanai as her prize student, and one of the finest medical-nin Konoha has ever produced. A lofty title Kitanai can only hope to live up to. As can be expected, Kitanai holds a deep affection for Kureha and considers her his first true sensei.
Senju Midori: TBD
Senju Takurama: TBD
Senju Madarame: TBD
Senju Hotsuma: Though they initially met as academy classmates, Hotsuma soon took it on himself to bring Kitanai into his home after learning that the other boy didn't have family or a place to stay in Konoha. The Senju household would soon become a home away from home for Kitanai, and Hotsuma the brother he'd never had. Since childhood, Kitanai has considered Hotsuma both his greatest rival and closest friend; a sentiment that has continued to this day.
Hotsuma is one of a select few people that Kitanai kept in contact with after his self-exile from Konoha.
Iburi Satoshi: Kitanai holds a lasting respect and affection for his former Genin squad leader, who always encouraged Kitanai to achieve some of his more outlandish dreams despite his lack of natural talent. Some have gone as far as to claim he idolizes Satoshi. This is not entirely untrue, as Satoshi left quite an imprint on Kitanai in his youth, teaching both him and his squad mates that "With chakra, anything is possible.", a proverb Kitanai took more literally than most. Suffice to say, Satoshi was undoubtedly one of Kitanai's pillars of influence, alongside his parents, Yaguruma and Kureha.
Hyūga Tsugumi: The sole female on Kitanai's Genin squad, Kitanai came to admire, and even be inspired by, Tsugumi's talent with her clan's signature gentle fist style almost immediately after the team's formation. The two would grow close over their time serving in the Shinobi Great War. While it was simple enough to maintain a relationship when you served on the same squad, it was not so simple when the war finally ended and Konoha returned to some sense of normalcy.
Kitanai soon learned that a commoner such as himself was definitively not good enough in the eyes of the Hyūga Clan Elders. After a heated confrontation with Tsugumi's father, Atsuhiro, Kitanai left the Leaf Village with scarcely a word to anyone. According to the Hyūga Clan and the two themselves, this was the last time Tsugumi and Kitanai had seen each other until the former's recent coronation as the Sixth Hokage.
Namikaze Yoshiharu:
Iron Lee Tetsuya: Much like Hotsuma, Tetsuya was one of the first students in Kitanai's academy class to approach him, and the three quickly became inseparable. Though inevitably split up into separate Genin squads (many manly tears were shed.) Kitanai and Tetsuya remained extremely close, despite the fact that they were separated by hundreds of miles during the war. The last time Kitanai would see Tetsuya alive would be just before his friend's deployment to the Land of Wind. Kitanai would hear of Tetsu's death days after the battle of Sunagakure was already over. The news hit him particularly hard, and he maintains to this day that he should've been there when it happened. Whether or not he could've saved Tetsuya remains one of Kitanai's most haunting regrets, and a large reason for his devotion to mastering medical ninjutsu.
Yakushi Sawako: While they were placed in the same academy class, Kitanai didn't properly get to know Sawako until he began training in medical ninjutsu. The two started up something of a friendly rivalry as the top two members of their class, with Kitanai often making light of the fact that Sawako came from a storied line of medical professionals whereas he, well, didn't. Nonetheless, Kitanai has often stated that Sawako is one of the most brilliant minds he's ever had the pleasure of knowing. Kitanai's faith in Sawako was enough that he personally entrusted Tsume into her care six years ago. She holds the distinction of being one of the few friends Kitanai kept in contact with over his self-exile from Konoha.
Masataka: Serving as the upperclassman to a pair of medical prodigies certainly isn't an easy task, but Masataka was nevertheless stuck with the task more than a decade ago. Kitanai gravitated to Masataka when he first entered medical training as he was the only one who seemed to have a similar background in that neither came from ninja clans. While their personalities clashed on occasion, Kitanai still considers Masataka as a friend, even if he hasn't seen the man for nearly twelve years.
Aburame Koyomi: Kitanai has never had a particularly positive relationship with Koyomi. When the two were younger, Kitanai would insist on including her in group activities, which she usually refused to take part in. Despite this, Kitanai never wavered, and has repeated on numerous occasions that Koyomi and himself are friends, it's just a matter of Koyomi admitting it, never mind that he thinks her bugs are just a little bit creepy.
Shimura Irasaki:
Hyūga Yukio: Unlike other members of their clan, the youngest of Tsugumi's older brothers was aware of her and Kitanai's budding relationship during the Shinobi Great War, and confronted Kitanai to gauge his intentions. Yukio's death during the Day of Fallen Leaves spurred Kitanai to approach the Hyūga Clan Head about his relationship with the man's daughter. Though they wouldn't be considered friends per se, Kitanai remembers Yukio fondly.
Namikaze Fukushu:
Ryūga Tsume: Kitanai and Tsume have an unusual relationship for a Jōnin and Genin. At least, in terms of them actually knowing each other prior to their assignments. During his travels as a wandering doctor in the countryside of the Land of Fire, Kitanai came across as a six year old, and deathly ill, Tsume. He'd soon learn of her abandonment by her family, and successfully diagnosed her condition, going as far as to invent the remedy Tsume now relies on to be a shinobi. Kitanai delivered Tsume to the Hidden Leaf Village after about a week of traveling with her, knowing that her frail physique couldn't yet handle the life of a traveler. He has periodically sent her letters over the past six years detailing his travels. However, he has kept his return to Konoha a closely guarded secret.
Medical Ninjutsu: From a very young age, Kitanai has shown both interest and aptitude in Medical Ninjutsu, and is now considered one of, if not the foremost medical expert in the entirety of the Land of Fire. His skill in the art is such that he has brought several patients back from the brink of death, whether it be from trauma, poison, extensive burns or blood loss. He has become quite famous amongst the common folk of the Land of Fire due to his years as a wandering doctor after leaving Konohagakure over a decade ago.
Strong Fist Taijutsu: Almost from the day he first came to the Hidden Leaf, Kitanai has been mentored in taijutsu by the Senju Clan's elder and legendary taijutsu master, Yaguruma, in an extremely demanding style of martial arts. Though hellish, the outcome of Yaguruma's Strong Fist training is abundantly clear. It has ingrained almost superhuman strength, speed, and reflexes into Kitanai, effectively molding him into one of Konoha's leading taijutsu masters. Although he has maintained his training regiment, Kitanai has been away from active duty for more than a decade, and has had few opportunities to fully unleash his prowess in that time. Just how "rusty" he proves to be is yet to be seen.
Earth Release Ninjutsu: Unlike typical Jōnin level shinobi, Kitanai has not trained extensively in multiple fields of elemental ninjutsu, instead choosing to specialize in his natural affinity, Earth Release. In particular, Kitanai is well known for his skill in the area of Earth jutsu revolving around the molding and use of mud. This has become something of a joke to those who know him.
Non-Combat Skills: Like his ancestors before him, Kitanai is an expert herbalist, retaining a vast array of botanical and agricultural knowledge. Aside from this, Kitanai is known to be something of an amateur tea brewer, a hobby he picked up from his Jōnin-Sesei, though Satoshi focused more on the alcoholic side of beverages. Suffice to say, Kitanai can keep himself alive were he to become lost in the wilderness, that he enjoys fishing and camping is only a bonus.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Kitanai is about the furthest thing from a bukijutsu specialist one could find in the world, and he seems to pride himself on his ability to enter combat without the use of weapons. Despite this, however, Kitanai has a large collection of sealing scrolls in his possession at all times. Most notably, one of Kitanai's scrolls contains a large assortment of medical tools, herbs, poultices, and even fresh sets of clothing. Effectively a "portable operating room" for the rare occasion that Kitanai does not have the chakra necessary to apply his medical ninjutsu in emergency situations after combat. The rest of these scrolls contain a wide variety of mundane objects, ranging from a tea brewing kit (complete with drinking cups), a rudimentary campsite, and fishing equipment.
JUTSU
Obvious list is obvious. Link to the Naruto wiki as well.
Kitanai kneads the chakra in his stomach into balls of mud that he subsequently uses as projectiles against his opponents. Unlike a typical elemental bullet however, upon contact with a surface area, Kitanai can have the "dumpling" expand for an indefinite amount of time of his choosing or until the entire surface area is covered. Similarly to the Added-Weight Rock Technique, the dumplings become heavier and heavier as they expand across a surface. As one might expect, Kitanai's main use of this technique is to arrest an adversary's movement and render them incapable of fighting.
Considered diminutive and tiny to most people's eyes, but big when it comes to the matters of the heart. Ria is known for her razor-sharp tongue and insatiable appetite; The way she looks and acts is sharper than any dual-edged sword. Ria's eyes are colored onyx which is common among her clansmen but deceiving due to her distinctively upbeat nature. Ria takes after her father's eccentric nature and bears a strong resemblance to her mother.
Ria breaks the trend of her clan's traditional long collared blue and dark garments, she sports lighter colors and shades. A perfect example would be her silver-white sleeveless kimono with red markings (black shorts inside the seemingly short skirt), black ninja boots and silver-white long gloves with red markings. In all fashion sense, she keeps her hair either unkempt or tied depending on her mood, and has a variety color selection of her outfit. Even though she is quite small for her age, she is adeptly fast in all sense of the definition. Ria is quick to talk, walk, run, answer, question, and laugh. It's not hard to spot Ria, considering her eccentricities.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Eccentric and cheerful, Ria is a weird force that one can get a headache from. Ria displays an abstract pattern of thinking yet subtly reserved by answering in a double-meaning manner which often times can irritate people's ticks very quickly. She takes pride in her intelligence as she sees her craft intertwine with benefits in a clear circle and knowing this, she takes advantage of whatever opportunity that comes to her. Ria is a fan of books that range from multiple genres, and quotes lines even though she may sound corny.
Ria has no problems in making friends given her upbeat and eccentric personality, though oddly enough the friends she makes are usually older people; such as the typical old geezer which tends to escalate into weirder conversations which makes her seem quite mature for her age. That said, she hates it when she's proven wrong and loves it whenever she's right. One thing that's surprising is that she isn't bothered by receiving praise and is bluntly humble about it. When it comes to decision making, that is where she breaks apart; individual decisions are easy but for a group it's harder, and deeper self ones are the hardest. Oftentimes her "full proof" planning does not go the way she wants it to.
CLAN HISTORY
The Uchiha Clan is one of the major clans in the village and well known as one of the eldest clans in history to ever exist. Specializing in fire techniques and the progressive sharingan, they are a force to be reckon with, and that's to those who awaken it; not all Uchiha awakens the sharingan but when one does, it changes the battlefield. Wars between certain clans ceased during the Konton Period when the Uchiha, Senju, Hyuuga and Sarutobi founded the village, and many years later the Uchiha Clan would have its Hokage who died anyway due to a heated ordeal.
PERSONAL HISTORY
The daughter of Uchiha Kazuma, Uchiha Rika and the older sister of Uchiha Kanade as well as Uchiha Chiaki's niece, Ria became bent on finding the murderer of her mother. Two years ago, during a stormy night at their house in the Uchiha Compound, a strange person, guise in black with a dragon mask and glowing sharingan eyes broke inside and murdered her mother and it all happened so fast because in a matter of seconds, Ria found herself outside of the compound and not inside the house. Everything that night happened too fast for her to remember and when she got back in the house, disbelief was all she witnessed— her father having the Mangekyou Sharingan followed by his imprisonment.
Ria and Kanade was raised by Aunt Yuri, their mother's older sister and had two years of diverting their attention towards something productive such as the Ninja Academy and Mochi baking, Aunt Yuri quit the ANBU for the sake of taking care of her nieces and never was it an easy task for her because of Ria constantly making an attempt to visit her father, including Kanade tagged with her older sister. Everyday ended up as a lecture that their father is a murderer and must move on with it and accept reality but to the sisters' eyes he's not the one who killed their mother, elders of the village and the clan would always drill it in their minds that their father killed their mother for the sake of obtaining the Mangekyou Sharingan. Despite all of this, Ria continued believing that her father is innocent and would never do such a thing, Aunt Yuri admittedly have mixed feelings about it, and at one point she visited Kazuma and tell stories about the kids, in turn she'd tell the kids about him and Ria and Kanade would always beg to come along with her but never did because they are still to young to understand a thing. After such time, Ria healed but not Kanade, she became distant towards her sister for reasons unknown but they still share the same goal; to find the murderer and bring justice to their parents.
Her time in the academy also healed, Ria continued with her usual endeavors such as challenging Mikki everyday and improving in kenjutsu but deep inside she is still damaged and just let the days sink for that fateful night would never be erased and so this made Ria tried staying joyful even when she is not. Today she is no longer trying to break out of the village to see her father but instead she uses the time she have to cherish those close to her especially her friends and clansmen. Nevertheless those memories still haunts her in her sleep, The Dragon Man is what she calls the murderer; he has the sharingan. Just who is he?
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Uchiha Kazuma, 41. Ria and Kanade's father and currently one of her biggest priority in life because she wants to free him from Blood Prison. As days pass in prison, Kazuma still is a joyful person no matter how much mistreatment and accusations that fall on him and although he wishes to return home, he has accepted that his execution is drawing near. Ria is not aware about the execution and she could only recall every moment she had with him, an absent father means a dead parent to her. During her mournful stages, Ria would try to go as far away from the village just to see him but her clansmen and authority figures kept preventing her from doing so.
Uchiha Rika, 29. Motherly yet strict, Rika was a good mother because of her unconditional love for her family. During the good days, she would take her family out to eat and play but not without discipline, she prioritize work first. It's also surprising and unusual because she is the dominant parent. She died at the hands of "The Dragon Man" and never was able to say goodbye to her family. Her death motivated Ria to become a responsible person to find Dragon Man and bring justice for her family.
Uchiha Kanade, 9. She is Ria's sister and younger by three years and an academy student. Both sisters are eccentric which is a trait that they inherited from their father but what differentiates Kanade from Ria is her disciplinarian and mean honesty that heavily hurts people's feelings. Kanade in every way is an opposite of her older sister, not to mention she is considered a prodigy which Ria isn't.
Uchiha Chiaki, 49. One of Ria's close relatives, the one and only clan head, "Shorty Aunt". Chiaki may be small but be warned; she bites. It's only recent that Ria and Chiaki are bonding mainly because she is the older sister of her father and knows more about him than herself. Their relationship is that of a fire and ice, both are small in height and does not take each other's insults too well.
Uchiha Yuri, 35. Ria's aunt and the very person that took her and Kanade in as her own in custody. Yuri is Rika's older sister who formerly had a relationship with Kazuma in her younger years. All things aside from her past, she abandoned her work in the ANBU and dedicated her life for her nieces and opened a Mochi and Sweets Shop. Ria easily is spoiled because Yuri is a doting "parent". In the absence of Rika, she is basically mother #2. As opposed to the rest, she is supportive of Ria venturing out of the village and meet her father but since majority are against it, she can't do anything than just hope.
Matsudaira Kiri, 12. Ria is totally fond of her but never in a rival sense. She sees her as one friend that is one in a million and the one that is willing to run extra miles for you. Added to the fact that she's such a cute beast who would so prove liars out there to never lie again due to her strength but strength is something that Ria sees beyond for her, Kiri is more than a Puncher and Kicker. One last thing, Ria finds her so big that even her height of 4'7 makes her feel like an ant but that's a good sense since Ria believes she's a good person.
Namikaze Fukushu, 11. Just seeing the look of her face everyday is something to be thankful and sorry at the same time. Apart from Mikki, Fukushu is one of the few people that Ria can totally relate to and sees herself in her, not to mention the entire concept of having a mother. In a sense of what would have happened if Ria let her clan's expectations get the better of her and not have love and beyond that Ria thinks she would have ended up like her if it wasn't for the people who always got her back. Whenever she sees Fukushu, Ria is careful with what she's going to say and do.

Murakumo Mikoto, 12. Ever since day one at the academy, they have been on each other's throats. Mikki is the sole reason that according to Ria motivated herself into putting her all into Kenjutsu and the only rival she sees worth of her time. Everyone else pales in comparison and anyone that is not named Mikki. There are certain times they get along well with each other but won't last long due their way of thinking. Ultimately, Ria sees herself in Mikki in the aspect of what her life would have been if her mother was alive and her father's not in prison and frankly, she envies her because of having a complete family.

Senju Madarame. He is the premier swordsman in Konohagakure, excelling beyond the preceding generation’s notable kenjutsu specialists. It is said that Madarame is the equal of any samurai. This man is the very man that Ria looks up to, the very man whom she wishes to be when she grows up, as odd as it sounds because she's a girl soon to be a woman. Although Ria has not personally met the living legend, she continues to do her best everyday, hoping one day she'll meet him and get his autograph.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Mi-enshin Kaihou Ken(Undrawn and Closed Blade) An unorthodox form of swordplay that revolves around the usage speed, sheathed and unsheathed blade. Not much is known about its origins as how it came to be but it is easy to tell that it resembles Samurai swordplay. Those who practice this technique are said to "Defy God and shatter the heavens". Divided into three branches, Closed Blade, Open Blade and Mirage Flower. Practitioners of this technique are required to be fast enough in order to use the style hence why this technique's most important requirement is speed but what makes it deadlier is the tact of the wielder. They must be well versed in each branch:
Tojita-ga(Closed Blade): Easily the simplest and easiest form but at the long run it becomes "confusing" for people due to the intimidation it delivers. This branch revolves around the sheathed form. Tojita-ga sword techniques are primarily built to club opponents as the sword is sheathed and this is the crisis stage or the turbulent stage for all the practitioners because of the sheath. With enough skill, the practioner itself can clash head on with other swordsman who have their sword open while the practioner, sheathed.
Karaware(Shattered Sky): Also known as the shedding of the snake's skin, unsheathing or OPEN HEAVEN/Open Blade. This technique is basically the releasing of the sheath and because the wielder is no longer burdened by their sheath, they are much faster than they were before when their sword was sheathed. Mi-enshin Kaihou Ken main point is speed, one cannot transcend into this branch to the next without mastering Tojita-ga aka the turbulent stage of all Mi-enshin Kaihou Practitioners.
Mirajunohana(Mirage Flower): Amalgam of both forms into one but with more speed and momentum. This last branch is the deadliest and most energy consuming of them all. It is also considered an assassination technique because of the increased momentum and how swiftly it delivers the cuts and how deceiving it is. Afterimages are the forte of this technique or better yet called as Speed Mirage which is used to intimidate and deceive targets. The way it is executed is often mistaken as an illusion technique but it is not. Practitioners are deemed masters once they have completed the previous and this technique.
Ria is still young and therefore she is still at the turbulent stage and has her sword sheathed at all times because it requires a step by step mastery for her to unsheathe her blade. Though she has demonstrated skill and competent potentials to reach the next level, all she needs is some polishing.
Quickness: Ria during her training regime of Mi-enshin Kaihou Ken was taught to condition her body and mind to be quick in order to possess the technique itself. The training was harsh because she must avoid incoming projectiles and traps designed by her father. Physical regime aside, mental training in the form of Shogi and although it's about taking time and formulating strategy, it is said that the game itself allows the mind to see things in a different perspective and would allow Ria to think quickly once she sees through the pattern of the game. As fast as she is, her durability on the other hand is something that would be described as glass cannon.
Keen Intellect:Ria is naturally a smart, crafty and resourceful individual whose particularly quick to learn. Her knowledge comes from her habit of reading books and scrolls which gives her a deep understanding of conceptual things in this world of ninja. Proven through learning Mi-enshin Kaihou-ken at the age of 9 but it was not as easy as she thought it would because intelligence alone does not warrant something that would require the intense tuning of the body or such other conditions hence she took the harsh regime. For Ria, this is her most defining asset and what she believes that make her equal to her rival and motivates her of unveiling her mother's killer's identity. Despite her intelligence, this does not peg her as a prodigy and compare to a total brainy individual, Ria pales in comparison.
FOCUS & SKILLS
As an Uchiha, Ria is expected to excel in all areas, typical and understandable given the Uchiha's nature as Jack of All Trades but master of none. Ria however has potential for Kenjutsu and had undergone a short training period with her father prior to his imprisonment, which led to her progression being halted. Ria is still young and has a lot ahead of her, but she is far from mastering her sword techniques. She is also a fast learner, given that she learned Mi-Enshin Kaihou-ken at the age of 9 through reading scrolls about it but only got a small grasp of it which is understandable, the technique itself was complex to other people even for her. Ria's fighting style revolves around clubbing opponents with her sheathed sword and formulating strategies.

There are typically three things that stand out most when somebody sees Seiichi. First, there are the two scars marking his face. Second, there is the one piece tracksuit like outfit he can usually be seen wearing. And third, there are his yellow (golden in the words of his mother) eyes. He stands at roughly 4’11" tall with a fairly muscular, though lean physique as would be expected from somebody who trains as much as him. He also sports a messy head of dark brown, bordering black, hair. Additionally, one is likely to see a ninja tool pouch hung at the right side of his waist and another strapped to his leg just above his left knee. Finally, he can often be seen carrying a navy blue backpack which he uses to carry his larger tools (or simply those that wouldn't fit in his two pouches), as well as other various (not always necessary) things.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
There are a great many words that could be used to describe Seiichi. He is intelligent, hardworking, ambitious, and cautious while simultaneously emotional, reckless, and somewhat reclusive; the list could go on. He is never satisfied with his own achievements. He brushes things off believing that he can and should always strive to be better as the next head of the Sarutobi clan. This is most likely due to the high expectations of him, expressed by various members of his clan. He is strong willed, stubborn even, never willing to give up or quit, often pushing his mind and body past his limits. It is very unlike him to try and shy away from or hide his opinion on what he does and does not find acceptable which at times can get him into trouble or cause problems that would otherwise be avoided.
Additionally, because he has had to deal with his fair share of bullies he tends to gravitate more towards animals than people. He also found it simpler to just keep those around his age away from him to avoid further problems. The habit seems to have stuck even after becoming a genin, given his tendency to push people away. He tends to act more on instinct and emotion than logic, a “passion” he would claim to have been inherited from his father. Some things are too important for him to simply let go. As such he can act rather recklessly where certain subjects are concerned. The young man also tends to remain cautious of most new peoples and things he encounters, which can be attributed to his experience with bullies. Still, he doesn’t necessarily see this as a problem as to him that is an important trait for a shinobi.
Seiichi aspires to make a name for himself as a great shinobi. He wishes to surpass his father and even his grandfather, though he doubts he can. At times he can feel somewhat inferior in terms of raw talent, so he works harder to make up for it. When it comes to his goals, he feels the only thing that can get in his way is himself. He isn’t likely to ask for help because he feels it’ll just drag somebody else into his problem. He greatly underestimated himself and his own growth because in his eyes nothing he does is as good as it could be.
CLAN HISTORY
TBA
PERSONAL HISTORY
Seiichi is the son of Sarutobi Atsuo. Being as young as he is, he didn’t get to know his grandfather all that well before he passed away due to old age. However, he heard about him from his father and about his father from other members of the clan. His father was, and still isn’t, one to brag. Thus, Seiichi ended up learning more about the man he held in such high regard from the people around him whenever possible. And the more he learned, the more he felt motivated to become a great shinobi, though his goal never was and likely never would be to become Hokage.
Still, as he grew it became apparent that he was not as talented or skilled as his father or grandfather. He fell behind other members of the clan and others in his age group. He deeloped feelings of inadequacy, which were only strengthened by the expectations of the elders and older members of his clan. He was supposed to be the next head of the clan. How could he properly lead them if he could not live up to the regard with which he was held.
Seiichi tried harder and harder, but for a while the results just weren’t showing. His taijutsu skills were considerably weaker than those around him. He had no genjutsu to speak of and he could hardly use his chakra. While other students made headway in strides he was struggling to properly perform the most basic of techniques. Some people even suggested he give up and shift his focus elsewhere. But he simply couldn’t do it. If he wasn’t a ninja, what was he? The child only had one option in his youth. Work harder.
So, he studied more. He began to learn about chakra to utilize it in the best ways possible. He tested the limits of his chakra reserves. He question other shinobi of his clan, his father included, of the best ways in which to utilize chakra. Eventually, a member of his clan name Hichibi began to help him train under orders from Atsuo. It from Hichibi that he would learn about Chakra Flow and various ways to properly manage and control his chakra. Of course, he couldn’t do this without training, learning and working on his own as Hichibi was not always around to guide him and he understood the demands his father had to meet in order to maintain his position and continue the clan’s legacy as one of the ruling clans of the village.
Even so, to say life was easy for the young Sarutobi would be a slap in the face to his own circumstances. For while it is true he was in a position where he would not want for any material item he was also bullied by some of the children around him. He was seen as weaker and an easier target than many of the other well off children. He was taunted and in some cases attacked. He was called scum, a failure, beaten down because the other children wanted to prove their dominance over a member of one of the villages ruling clans.
Seiichi refused to tell his father or anybody else what was going on. One day though he was attacked. The children went farther than they ever had. The ringleader of the bunch had gotten hold of a tanto. He’d been showing it off and decided the perfect person to test his sword skills on was Seiichi. Other boys held him by his arms, keeping him in place as the young man swung the blade, inching closer to Seiichi with each swipe. One of the group warned him to be careful, but he argued he wouldn’t do anything so stupid.
The boy was wrong of course. Upon his final swing he hit Seiichi, who to this point had been struggling to free himself from the boys. It had felt like an eternity, though in reality the boy had only swung 3 or 4 times before his attack reached the face of the Sarutobi heir. Seiichi cried out in pain. The boys scattered. He was found and taken care of, but when asked about the mark he lied. He couldn’t involve anybody else. His parents shouldn’t have been bothered and he couldn’t show such weakness as the next clan head. The wound healed, but left a scar across his face.
Over the next few weeks, Seiichi trained harder than ever before. He would need to be able to handle himself should another incident occur. And then, he received his second scar. He had been working himself to the bone, anger welling up inside him. He’d progressed considerably in his training to control his chakra and utilize chakra flow. His skills in shurikenjutsu had also increased. Perhaps he had gotten a little full of himself, but during practice he messed up and cut himself on a bad throw while attempting to manipulate the shuriken’s trajectory with wire.
Regardless, the boy moved on. And sure enough he was confronted once more. This time, however, he fought back. He played the long game. He stayed far from them, used the skills he’d been working on. Apart from a few scratches the boys weren’t harmed. However, he was reprimanded when they collectively lied. He knew a bunch of people who knew the truth, but he didn’t fight it. He had technically won after all.
Even up to graduation, there were times when he was faced with bullying. Snide comments, little quarrels. He’d gotten much better at fighting back. He stuck to his plan of not involving others, leaving him without many friends if any at all. But that didn’t matter as long as he became a Shinobi of the village he loved and could make his father proud.

Sarutobi Kisara (Mother) -
Sarutobi Hibichi (Friend and Mentor) -
Aburame Koyomi - Aburame-Sensei is nothing if not interesting to Seiichi. He has a tendency to find himself wondering where things will go for him and his teammates under her tutelage. His expectations of her as a Jonin are incredibly high, though he has heard from members of his clan in passing that when it comes to the Jonin of the leaf one should typically expect some level of eccentricity. How bad could it be though?

CHAKRA NATURE

SPECIAL TRAITS
Chakra Control: Seiichi practiced day and night, studying all he could about chakra and the various techniques that could be utilized in order to learn to properly control, manipulate, manage and make use of his chakra. While he does not have the wealth of chakra many around him have been blessed with, he is more than capable of making good use of the moderately sized pool he does have. Such levels of control can even be compared to that of the Hyuga, though not quite there.
Chakra Flow: With access to some of the best ninja trainers of the village, even before entering the Ninja Academy, Seiichi questioned various sources for some of the better uses of his chakra. Utilizing this skill he increase the potency of a weapon, or even his own body, by flowing chakra through it. Although he has a ways to go before he could be considered a master of this technique, it is something he has been working on for a while, as sort of shock and awe technique, considering most genin wouldn't be capable of utilizing this skill.
FOCUS & SKILLS
Seiichi uses his superior chakra control and management to strengthen his weapons and also imbue them with his chakra nature. Additionally, as he is quite meticulous with the use of his weaponry and chakra while in battle he can also employ various ninjutsu in succession. However, though he has trained hard to get his chakra control to such a high level, with his focus on ninjutsu and chakra manipulation, his taijutsu skills simply do not measure up. Furthermore, his genjutsu skills are practically nonexistent.
Given that information it is understandable that Seiichi is prone to relying on weaponry and ninjutsu to lessen the gap between him and stronger opponents as he would be at a disadvantage if forced into close quarters combat. He knows that in a contest of brawn or simple close range combat skill he has less of a chance to win. Thus, while he most certainly is not a genius, he chooses to fight in the smartest way available to him. Because of this Seiichi avoids close combat, opting to use hit and run or diversionary tactics to slow and disorient opponents, whittling them down slowly.
Seiichi tries to drag out a battle, while also combining the aforementioned skills with mid to long range ninjutsu and other attacks to take them down, attempting to keep himself as safe as possible (though this doesn't always workout).
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Seiichi typically equips himself with standard ninja tools including, but not limited to, the following:

A relatively tall girl at around 5'1, Kiri could easily be confused for a boy were it not for her low, messy twintails and her feminine voice. Her eyes are a cold blue and distinctly intense in contrast to the rather pleasant and relaxed expression her face rests with. Despite her kind expression and soft features, her body is a defined and trained thing, a result of many hours of intense physical exercise. It’s not hard to imagine her filling out with more muscle in the coming years, but as it is she merely looks stronger than her average classmate.
Kiri tends to dress in rather traditional martial clothing, from her baggy and ill-fitting blue dougi to her hand wraps and sarashi. Strangely enough, her hands have already started to develop callouses, and she has a few scars on her palm and knuckles. It cannot be said that she isn't a hard worker, and her body reflects that perfectly.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
If there was one word to sum up Kiri, it would be ‘charitable’. Undoubtedly a result of her upbringing, Kiri seems to have a philanthropic streak, not only in a monetary sense but in the spiritual and mental senses too. While no genius, she is the sort to go out of her way to help a struggling classmate, encouraging them to do their best. While not rich, she will give coinage to the struggling—and so on. It would not be unfair to call her a peaceful idealist.
But how does becoming a ninja, a literal soldier, fit into the worldview of one who could be called a peaceful idealist? In short, Kiri is not a pacifist. She is a strong believer in self-defence on all levels, from the personal to the national. Naturally, she takes issue with being the initiator of a conflict, but has no qualms with an equal response to an initiation. She desires to protect Konohagakure and the Land of Fire, her beautiful home, from those who would see it sullied. She is her mother's daughter in that sense, if willing to be more proactive to reach that end.
Beyond that, she seems driven by a desire to escape the trappings of her family and the role which is expected of her, to branch out from the family tree and explore the world and meet a certain individual with the opportunities offered to her by the ninja lifestyle.
CLAN HISTORY
The Matsudaira are not a family of ninja, but a shrine family. Their charge is a purely spiritual one, acting as religious guides and intermediaries for the people of Konoha. In a sense they are analogous to ‘shamans’, performing cleansing rites and other rituals which are viewed to be vital towards the more mundane spiritual elements of the culture. Notably, the family structure tends towards the matriarchal, priestesses having more weight behind them than the priests. In order to defend their temple, be it petty thieves or something more dire, members of the Matsudaira family are trained in use of the daikyu and naginata from a young age. Although they are untraditional weapons in the history of ninjutsu-based warfare, they offer a slight benefit to those untrained in the ways of ninja and samurai if used proficiently, giving them the ability to 'pick off' individuals and keep a safe distance. Although civilians, the Matsudaira are tough civilians.
It is not entirely unheard of for members of the Matsudaira clan to leave and become members of some other institution, but the small family generally sticks to their role of priests and priestesses. In fact, it is considered odd by the nation at large when a Matsudaira leaves their clan’s role to take up another given the long and dedicated history of their family towards spiritual matters. They rarely interact with the ninja side of Konohagakure outside of occasionally hiring genin teams to assist them with mundane and everyday matters, and have a more of a more noteworthy presence in civilian life. Any recent, extensive interaction with military matters have not ended well for the Matsudaira.
Aiga Matsudaira, the previous matriarch of the family before the current, was a known element in the world as a rather outspoken advocate for a peaceful resolution between the warring nations, but she ultimately met her end on the Day of Fallen Leaves as an unfortunate casualty— or potentially as an intended target. Likely as a result, the eldest son of the current Matsudaira family members, Saga Matsudaira, left Konoha for his own reasons. The second eldest, Iri Matsudaira, took up the role of matriarch of the clan with her grandfather assisting her, and the youngest abandoned her duties as a shrine priestess to begin training as a ninja.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Kiri’s family life was tense. Interactions between her older siblings, father and grandparents always seemed to have an air of discomfort which she could never quite ignore. Not long after Kiri’s birth, the Matsudaira lost a beloved member of their family— they lost Kiri’s mother. In a sense, she was the then-lynchpin for the family, the point they could all agree that they loved without condition. Without her, there was noone to mitigate the disapproval of Kiri’s grandparents towards her older brother, or for someone to break up the disagreements between her older sister and her father. It all combined to make a very terse setting for a family dinner.
She was raised in relative comfort, and without much conflict, but the absence of her mother and the climate of the Matsudaira household chafed Kiri. She attended to her role as a priestess-in-training, learned what was expected of her, all without as much of a peep of discontent from her mouth, but the feeling was there, brooding away.
The event which triggered these feelings of discontent to surface was the self-imposed exile of her older brother, abandoning his family due to the exact same feelings held by Kiri. While Kiri was far too young to remember her mother, her older brother remembered their mother well. Without her around, he picked up the proverbial slack in looking after Kiri, firmly securing his place as the ‘cool brother’ in her eyes. The one who had provided her relief from the monotony of her education was gone, and suddenly the world seemed that much more uncomfortable to Kiri.
She wanted to leave.
The desire to become a ninja was rather sudden, but it was the obvious path to take in order to escape the Matsudaira household and stretch her legs. Not only would she become stronger—and not meet the same fate as her mother, who could not defend herself despite preaching for peace— but there was also the chance that such a life would allow her to find her brother once more.
Upon entering the academy, it was obvious that Kiri was not from a ninja stock. Her control was less than adequate, and her natural chakra reserves were nothing to brag about, but within her was a drive and a desire to learn which compensated for those failings of hers. One step away from being considered a dead-last or an underachiever, Kiri redeemed herself from such a label through beating enough of her classmates during sparring sessions. Instead, she was considered something of a 'beast', only good for punching and kicking but not for the more refined elements of being a ninja, like ninjutsu. Such an idea hardly phased Kiri, despite the negative denotations, and she instead took it as a sort of compliment to her abilities. Nonetheless, she is still genin material.
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Within the village, Kiri is considered the stray daughter of the Matsudaira clan. This isn't necessarily a negative thing, but it definitely isn't a positive thing either. This does not impact on how she is treated, and is more of an afterthought when regarding her. If anything, the worst thing to come from it would be the association with her brother, the one who ran away from his duties at the Shrine and the Land of Fire as a whole.
Among her family, Kiri is regarded as a young upstart. Even her older sister, Iri, wishes for her to put aside her desire to become a ninja and focus instead on her role as a soon-to-be Shrine Priestess, even though she was the one who approved her entering the academy as the current clan head. Conversations with her father and grandparents are few and far between, as she avoids them on her own initiative, believing that they would have very little to say to her beyond their desire to see her 'return', as it were. Her father and grandfather, Furuta and Kitajo Matsudaira, are something of a pair of dour traditionalists, hardened by years of seeing people go off to war to see them not return, only for the war to then come to Konohagakure and take Aiga from them at the very end. Their desire to see Kiri remain with her family is entirely justified, but she remains adamant on her choice, something which has soured relations between Kiri and the eldest members of her family. They don't want to see her meet the same fate as her mother, but she fails to see it as they do.
In the Academy, Kiri has earned the nickname 'Beast' due to her near-savantish focus on Taijutsu and her below-average scoring in other areas. She's not necessarily unpopular, but she is not highly regarded either. Still, she offers what help she can to those who desire it.
Mother † - Aiga Matsudaira(42), both a reputable priestess and a known, outspoken advocate for peace. Killed by Iwa forces on the Day of Fallen Leaves.
Father - Furuta Matsudaira (45), married into the family from a civilian family. A stoic historian and a dabbling martial artist. Disapproves of his youngest daughter's choice to become a ninja.
Grandmother † - Inoue, Matsudaira (81), more of a warrior than a priestess. While not a samurai or a ninja, she could handle herself in a fight better than most. Was responsible for Kiri and Iri's education up until her natural death in the summer of CE 107.
Grandfather - Kitajo, Matsudaira (85), not too dissimilar from his son-in-law, Kitajo is even more of a scholar than Furuta. Because of his late wife's more hot-headed nature, he tended to be the one to handle the more official side of running a temple. A long term planner, and fiscally intelligent, enough so to ensure the Matsudaira family was comfortable with what money it had.
Brother - Daigo, Matsudaira (20), the prodigal son. Influence from his father resulted him taking to martial arts from a young age, focusing more on that than his potential duties to the temple. By the time he left the Matsudaira household for good, he was on the cusp of becoming a world-class fighter in his own right. Cared deeply for his siblings. Location and status currently unknown.
Sister - Iri, Matsudaira (17), the current head of the Matsudaira family. Where Kiri and Daigo picked up elements from around the entirety of their family, Iri is most certainly her mother's daughter. A kind and considerate soul, she is not fond of conflict and does what she can to steer individuals away from it. Disapproves of her sister's choice to become a ninja, but it accepting of it.
Namikaze Fukushu: The distant Namikaze has Kiri's respect, complete and absolutely. While the term 'friends' is certainly not in consideration, Kiri admires the raw amount of dedication Fukushu has put into her education, from her ninjutsu capabilities (which greatly outshines Kiri's own) to the physical. Although Kiri has no idea why the young Namikaze is the way she is—not that she would dare ask— she'll gladly spar with her, and smiling all the while. If she's able to help her classmate push her boundaries, all the while improving herself, then the reason is unimportant to Kiri, so long as they can both reach their respective heights.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Hakkyokuken, the 8 Extremities Fist: A fledgling style of Kiri’s own design, Hakkyokuken’s basis comes from the lessons of her brother, academy taijutsu and her education in naginata techniques. The idea behind Hakkyokuken, as put forward by Kiri, is to hit where you would be afraid to be hit, and with a force you would wish to avoid. While still a ‘work in progress’, Kiri believes that regions like the legs, neck and thorax are the most effective areas to strike. She is of the belief that the practice of this style will be additionally beneficial against non-taijutsu specialists due to the absence of a comprehensive guarding technique taught to students at the academy. The development of Hakkyokuken is a long-term project for Kiri, and she intends for it to be her legacy to give to the ninja world. To the end of using this form of combat, Kiri has trained her body into a powerful weapon with room to grow further.
FOCUS & SKILLS
Kiri has a rather blatant leaning towards taijutsu to a near exclusive extent. This is not because she is incapable of ninjutsu, but that she lacks an obvious talent for it like a child from an actual ninja family would. She is perfectly mediocre (if leaning towards below average) when it comes to her academy jutsu, but puts in enough effort to make herself passable. However, her physical ability was worth mentioning among her classmates. She took to academy taijutsu well enough to the point where she progressed beyond it, adapting more complex techniques and stances into her fighting style. Her affinity for taijutsu is a result of her brother’s influence, a not unskilled martial artist in his own right. One of her fondest memories is that of her brother first taking her aside and teaching her how to throw a good punch, one she thinks back to as 'the good times'. It cannot be said that Kiri is a taijutsu genius, not a natural one at the least, but rather she is a monster of effort, putting far more into her craft comparative to the rest of her studies.
On a slightly related note, if academy students were graded on their abilities with a daikyu, Kiri could have been considered a prodigy.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Being less than exceptional in terms of chakra and ninjutsu, Kiri compensates with this by being rather savvy and on the ball when it comes to making use of the standard array of ninja equipment. Her aim with kunai and shuriken is decent, and her ability to make a plan of attack with them is not half-bad either. Beyond the standard ninja equipment, Kiri is something of a prodigy with a daikyu, having near supernatural aim and ability with one, but this is something which will rarely ever be seen due to the nature of being a ninja.
On top of this, she is quite exceptional with spears and glaives. Both the daikyu and the spear were a subject of her initial training in the Matsudaira, essentially taught to pull a bowstring at the same time she learned to walk. Although unlikely to actively be seen, the skills she learned from her initial training have helped her in the creation of her own budding martial style.

Flying Tetsuzanko River Crushes Stone
Charging Step Technique Kagura Flip-Crescent Slam Stone Divides River
When first conceptualizing Hakkyokuken, Kiri encountered the problem of range. In an actual fight, it wasn’t inconceivable for her to simply be outranged and punished for it, so in order to resolve that she began working on the first ‘complex’ movement of Hakkyokuken, the Charging Step.
At the core of Hakkyokuken is the idea of explosive force transferred through striking points, and the Charging Step is no different. Through the balls of her feet, Kiri expels enough force to send her almost gliding forward, closing the gap between her and an opponent at a distance. There is the obvious problem of it being a one directional movement, and therefore predictable, but speed of the movement is nothing to scoffed at. For those at the level of genin, the movement would be observable, but the problem comes with reacting to the movement in a timely manner. It is the simplest expression of Hakkyokuken’s base idea, and a display of how it could grow in the future. The immediate drawback of using this technique is the amount of strain it puts on Kiri's legs. As she currently is, utilizing abilities which require strength of such degree are bound to take their toll, at least until her body has grown to accommodate such a thing.

Description
The tetsuzanko is a rather basic movement in Hakkyokuken, in which force is applied through a turning step into a charge-lean, directing the force through the back of the shoulder. The Flying Tetsuzanko is the same in principle, there being no difference in the fundamental movement, but it is done through the Charging Step Technique, increasing the force- and therefore the force expelled- behind the technique. To those unable to dodge the Charging Step-Tetsuzanko combination, they should expect a blow strong enough to blow through the doors of a temple gate. Its weakness is inherently linked with the Charging Step Technique, given that it is built off of it. Smashing into something with so much force is, much like the initial movement of the Charging Step, bound to take its toll if used without a degree consideration.

Kiri shoots into the air, doing a rapid flip forward to position her descent just above her opponent. When she is in range, she grips what she can (usually the shoulders) and performs another flip with them in her grip, swinging them with her and then slamming them into the ground, upper-back first. Naturally, this taijutsu technique has a not inconsiderable amount of setup, and relies on it not being done in isolation in order to pull of it. If done in isolation, it can be avoided or countered off by a mindful opponent.

Description
A defensive taijutsu technique. While by no means a perfect defense, it is effective at enabling the user to block or parrying a single attack, even if it may result in the user still being harmed to some degree. Kiri covers up her openings in this brief defensive stance, allowing her to move and respond to an oncoming attack. This response is not absolute physical protection, especially from overwhelming ninjutsu or certain weapons and excessive physical force, but it does contribute to mitigating the damage of such. Taking swords as an example, she may 'parry' the blade, but she could still receive a cut. None the less, it is a decent attempt at a defensive technique by a beginner.

In the event of the blocked or parried blow being close range, Kiri can respond to Stone Divides Surging River with River Crushes Stone. She reaches out, gripping the front of her opponent, and drags them into a fierce palm strike to their thorax. The strike is intended to be done with enough force to do serious damage to the sternum, and send the opponent reeling backwards. While a highly situation based technique, once an attack has been blocked by Stone Divides Surging River, the setup for River Crushes Stone is essentially a minimal effort. The potential lethality of River Crushes Stone is reflected in its rank, riding the line between a simple martial technique and a straight up assassination technique. The conceptual idea behind it, according to Kiri, is that of a bow being loosed, and the arrow hitting true. It is her current 'trumpcard', largely untested but unseen by most.

APPEARANCE
With an unruly head of silver hair and heavy-lidded eyes, Shunpei displays a not insignificant resemblance to the rest of his clan. The only immediately obvious difference lies in his eye color, which is coppery hue rather than stony one. A similar sense of warmth can be seen in his soft-featured face and jovial expressions. Other than a disobedient swirl of hair, he doesn’t have any characteristic physical traits. As far as his choice dress goes, the most common features of Shunpei’s wardrobe are metal arm protectors and loose-sleeved shirts. Palette-wise, he prefers a light base complemented with dark, cool, and/or earthy colors.
Also he stands at a height of 4’10”, which he’s proud to say is (just slightly!) above the village average.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
If there’s anything to be said about Shunpei it’s that he’s carefree and relentlessly positive. As high empathy individual who can’t stand a pervasive atmosphere of seriousness and gloom, he always does his best to maintain a sense of levity in all things and cheer people up when they’re not feeling well. He does his best to offer advice and assistance, both asked for and not, when possible, and is never above making jokes at his own expense.
But despite his extroverted demeanor, Shunpei isn't actually overly talkative or energetic when you get down to it. He runs out of social energy very quickly, and just as too much negative energy overwhelms him, too much positive does so as well. If he doesn’t have a chance to recharge, however brief, most of his stranger choices transition from “pretending to be an idiot” to “idiot, period.” He’s usually quite embarrassed afterwards if he does anything particularly odd without thinking. In fact, it’s usually quite easy to fluster the young man by bringing up elements of his “dark past”.
As far as his motivations go, his stated goal is to become Hokage, which is not necessarily wrong, but more than that he really just wants to amass a bunch of cool moves to use out of his great love for the flash and spectacle of many jutsu. In fact, Shunpei actually has little desire to become a shinobi for its own sake; he’s actually utterly terrified of the kill or be killed nature of the ninja lifestyle. However he finds the courage to persist based on the fact that he’d feel terribly guilty for subjecting somebody else to do it in his stead. Furthermore, giving up on the path would be a great moral defeat in his mind. Though he doesn’t looks like he takes anything seriously, he takes many things seriously; he wants be the best shinobi he can be, but he often doubts his abilities and, ironically, fears making a fool out of himself. Because of this he hates being held to a standard of performance and tends to very much dislike the criticism of others. But more than he fears personal failure, he fears failing others; just as Shunpei tries to inspire those around him, it is those around him who inspire him to his best.
CLAN HISTORY
Compared to many other shinobi clans in Konohagakure, the Hatake Clan is quite young, having only been formally recognized as a clan a year or two before the onset of the Great Shinobi War. Although if you were to ask any of the elder members of the clan, they would tell you that they consider themselves to be older than that - to what degree depends on the speaker. Unifying their accounts create the following timeline:
The Hatake, or rather the collection of families that would come to compose the Hatake, trace their origins back to a large farming village north of the Land of Fire and adjacent to the Land of Iron. It was named Hiyokawa Village, and it sat along a river that ran through the plan, just outside of a vast forest.
Because the area blessed with extremely fertile farmland, conflict tended to come to them despite their neutral nature. The Warring States Period saw the area trade hands again and again, almost overnight in some cases. Fortunately, the kage decree spelt an end to this tumultuous time. Unfortunately however, they remained an important target for those looking to secure a location of prosperous agricultural production, as was the case when the Kokushibyo attempted to capture the village during their short-lived coup. But it was this ebb and flow of occupation, combined with the harsh nature of northern winters, that nurtured the culture of hardiness and community duty that would pervade the Hatake to this day.
The first time the community took up arms was during their occupation by the Land of Iron at the onset of their conquest in the northern reaches of the world. Traditionally, they would have just endured and waited for someone to liberate them, but the draconian rule of the samurai ensured that their usual trading routes were disrupted, and the tribute they demanded became more and more avaricious as the years passed. By 59 CE, it was clear that nobody was sending any men to liberate them as they did with the Kokushibyo or during the Warring States era, and that continuing to bide their time was practically suicide.
As such, the village leaders of the time organized a resistance militia in secret, and quickly began their campaign of asymmetrical warfare against the occupying samurai, leveraging intimate knowledge of the surrounding terrain, superior survival skills, and a liberal interpretation of how farm and hunting equipment ought to be used. They were far more successful than anyone could have expected, mostly due in part of the samurai’s reluctance to indiscriminately persecute villagers and the increasing paranoia of enemy guerrillas, but that changed when the Land of Iron chose to cut their losses there and devote their men to penetrating the Land of Fire. They would return to the land in two years’ time.
The newly-conquered arable ground in the Land of Fire allowed the samurai the ability to target the village’s means of production with impunity, and combined with persecution of notable village families, they attempted to expose the resistance and snuff them out once and for all. Unsurprisingly, the Hatake do not currently have a very high opinion of samurai because of this. The only reason the Hatake continue to survive is because they were able to send word to the Konoha warfront and receive shinobi reinforcements.
Though they had secured victory, Hiyokawa Village and its surrounding land was destroyed in the ensuing battle. Furthermore, the population of the village itself hadn’t recovered significantly in the short respite prior, and the final conflict reduced their population to a mere four family units. Because of this, the remaining villagers were sent to Konohagakure as refugees and given a plot of land to continue farming.
Rather than accept a life as mere civilians though, many possessed a desire to join Konoha in the war against the samurai gripped their community. While some saw it as a means of revenge, most saw it as a way to pay back the Land of Fire for their vital assistance. However, there was an undeniable gap of skill between the established shinobi and the untrained refugee force. The war would end before any of them could complete proper training. Meanwhile, a different type of divide could be noted between the skilled workers of the city and these unskilled farming peasants. Because of this, the villagers mostly kept to themselves in that section of Konoha farmland, a place which would later become the Hatake compound.
After a period of uncertainty, this community of ex-partisans dub themselves “Hatake” in honor of their humble origin, and designed a crest - a 3x3 diamond grid - as an image to evoke that land. The green clan would get their opportunity to prove themselves when the Great Shinobi War broke out, and it is during these conflicts that many Hatake would distinguish themselves as skilled shinobi. While many of the older, more powerful clans still believe they're still largely untested as a shinobi family, there is nobody that can rightfully contest the Hatake's strong allegiance to Konohagakure or their status as an agricultural juggernaut.
The customs, heirlooms and skills of the Hatake are very few. The few heirloom weapons they possess are all equipment looted from slain samurai, and they possess no hiden or kekkei genkai. But while the assets they grant their shinobi scion are few, the traditional farming techniques they pass down allow the quality of their crops to far surpass those of other farms. Considering that, it’s probably more accurate to consider the Hatake a clan of farmers that happen to produce a population of ninja, rather than the other way around. Another notable mainstay of the clan is the saying that “before one can cultivate their own growth, they must first cultivate the growth of others.” The uninitiated might consider this a reflection of the fact that they teach all of their clan members a baseline knowledge of plant husbandry in order to build discipline, but really it’s also a reflection of their collectivist mentality.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Following the Great Shinobi War, the peace accords signed by the belligerent villages ensured the transference of the surviving number of captured shinobi back to their homelands. Hatake Yumitsu, Shunpei’s mother, was one of these shinobi, and it was shortly after her exodus from Iwagakure that she fell in love with the medic-nin assigned to her case. It was in the weeks following their marriage that a boy was born to the Hatake Clan. Despite the obviously questionable circumstances regarding the boy’s birth and conception, and the marriage of his parents, Hatake Shunpei was accepted by the clan as the legitimate eldest child of the clan’s next generation...and put under the expectations, both spoken and unspoken, that came with it.
Despite being raised under the great love and care of his immediate family and his mother’s own wish that he pursue whichever path he wanted, the more traditionally-minded Hatake - including the clan patriarch - wanted him to go down the same path the firstborn Hatake of previous generations underwent: the life of service as a shinobi. As he grew up, comparisons to his mother and his uncle, the two most prodigious shinobi of the previous Hatake generation, colored the vast majority of the clan’s perception of him, and his own perception of himself as someone so avoidant.
In the end, Shunpei was enrolled in the Konoha Academy, and was placed in the class taught by his uncle, Toshiro, which bothered him to no small degree considering the man’s reputation even outside the clan. However, life at the Academy wasn’t close to as bad as he expected. His surprisingly magnetic personality ensured that he at least had plenty of actual friends to laugh and play alongside, including his best friend Tensai, who he was able to hang out with every day and occasionally skipped classes with. Of course, during his time in the Academy there would be some who once thought they could accrue favor with his uncle or one of his friends by taking advantage of him, such perceptions quickly changed once it became readily apparent that how well he was treated wouldn’t necessarily provide a proportional or desirable benefit.
So even as the overall downturn of his grades dejected him with every report - which were often passed directly to his family and elders - the presence of people he could count on and people that were, in a way, counting on him, allowed the young boy to maintain a sense of pride and confidence. But at the same time, being constantly surrounded by people whose capabilities quickly began to gulf his own was disheartening to say the least, especially as someone who felt that he had a lot to live up to, and even moreso as someone who had actually bonded with many of these people and felt worse for being even just a little jealous of them.
In his free time, Shunpei could mostly be found “screwing around”, to use the simplest and most-widely applicable term, among his modular friend groups, or helping around the clan’s farmhold and the village itself. His personal studies mostly consisted of “training” for the more practical courses, which effectively translated to “have fun fooling around with techniques and tools”. Only rarely could he be found actually studying for his academics, as the practical courses were the ones that most held his interest.
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Hatake Taizan, 64 Maternal grandfather. Taizan is the Hatake Clan patriarch and is most well-known among the village for his skill at farming, and the shrewd business practices that make him an absolute menace in the Konoha's produce market. In his youth, he used to fight samurai, but has since retired to something far more suited to him than life as a warrior. They don’t really interact much, save for when Taizan shows up to criticize Shunpei’s academic performance or when the whole clan needs to gather for something or other.
Masataka, 34 Father. A medic-nin who married into the clan a month before Shunpei’s birth. He is a firm but fair father who Shunpei holds fond memories of. However, it is very apparent that he plays favorites and that his favorite is not him. For reasons unknown to Shunpei, he has stopped showing up around the house on a consistent basis. However, Shunpei hasn’t thought much about it; he figures that the guy just works late nights or goes out on missions a lot. Nobody has made a big deal about it to him, at any rate.
Hatake Yumitsu, 31 Mother. Once a former ANBU captain known as "The Phantom of Konoha" for her mastery of stealth techniques and the art of espionage, which she used to great effect as a spy and assassin behind enemy lines during the Great Shinobi War. She was captured during the Night of the Red Dunes during an attempt to assassinate the three core members of Kurai Heishi's ANBU unit. She only returned home following the conclusion of the war and declared herself unfit for duty following her failure. Fortunately civilian life has treated her well, granting her two children that she loves to dote on. That said, she can be a bit overbearing at times even if she means well. She likes to invite her former coworkers to the house for some food and drink, and wants to meet all of her son's friends.
Hatake Toshiro, 24 Maternal uncle. In the past he was a taciturn genius who took part in the Great Shinobi War; now, he is the Head Instructor of the Academy. While he and Toshiro do not have a strained relationship outwardly speaking, Shunpei resents the man as much as he looks up to him. As the standard he believes he must surpass and the standard he knows he hasn't, Shunpei thinks Toshiro's choice is a gross waste of his talent - the proverbial salt in the wound of Shunpei's comparative prodigiouslessness. He's a bit uncomfortable around the guy now, but once upon a time, Shunpei used to bother him for tutoring lessons and mimic his stoic attitude. He still cringes every time he thinks about it.
Hatake Sayuri, 7 Annoying younger sister. Shunpei tries to get along with her because he's the oldest, but in practice he mostly just keeps away from her as much as possible. He can't drive himself to hate her for more than an hour or two at a time, so deep down he probably does care about her more than he thinks he does.
Namikaze Yoshiharu, 26
Murakumo Mikoto, 12
Uzumaki Kiyoshi, 12 Friend with (academic) benefits. Though Kiyoshi is notable for his extreme introversion, Shunpei - being Shunpei - has earned his friendship... at least from his perspective. Regardless of whether the feeling is completely mutual, Shunpei is at least exempt from Kiyoshi’s trademark requests for solitude, and is often audience to the redhead’s tutoring. Considering that most aspects of academia aren’t of much interest to the Hatake, this varies in efficacy. The fact that they both keep it up is probably the most significant attestation of their friendship. He does, however, find Kiyoshi’s intellect staggeringly impressive, and takes genuine interest in his fuinjutsu experimentation, often offering ideas of varying feasibility. While Kiyoshi doesn’t often want to hang around Tensai, Shunpei’s been trying his best to make the idea of hanging out with his best friend appeal to the young introvert. This is, as you could expect, rarely successful.
Iburi Kodo, 13
Matsudaira Kiri, 12
Ryuuga Tsume, 12 Curiosity. According to the oldest surviving members of the clan, the ones who remember the Hatake’s old land holdings, she is someone to avoid on grounds of her clan historically raping, pillaging, and burning former Hiyokawa villagers. Shunpei being Shunpei however, doesn’t really care about that kind of thing and was more curious about her person than he was against her existence. This is especially because his father, someone friendly with Tsume’s adoptive mother, told him that she couldn’t be that terrible a person, and that he might as well try to make a friend like his mother wanted. However, apart from a strange initial encounter meant to determine the validity of his clan elders’ stories, they don’t really interact much beyond class assignments where they must.
Aburame Katsu, 11
Inuzuka Kegawa, 11
Namikaze Fukushu, 11
Uchiha Tensai, 11 Brother from another mother. They initially met as a result of their mothers being best friends, and have quickly ensured that history had repeated itself. Indeed, if there is anyone that Shunpei could call his best friend forever, it would be Tensai. Most of the time they can be seen hanging around each other, going on many escapades and participating in other assorted acts of tomfoolery. There are exceptions to this, mostly when Shunpei hangs out with his quieter friends, but overall, if one sees Tensai, Shunpei is not far behind. Except for grades, obviously. While some might believe that Tensai and Shunpei only hang out because they’re both trying to be everyone’s friend or that Tensai is just pitying the poor Hatake boy, the real crux of their friendship lies in the fact that Shunpei doesn’t really act like Tensai is anything particularly odd. Not a genius, not an Uchiha, not a bastard - just a kid who likes to have fun. That said, he would be lying if he said he wasn’t a little disheartened by how effortlessly Tensai demonstrates his skills.
Haruno Ren, 10 Family friends’ son. As the offspring of the Haruno Clan traders and the Hatake Clan farmers, and two medical shinobi from the same class, it was only natural that these two would have met at some point, whether at an inter-clan gathering or via prompting from their parents to interact at school. While some may be inclined to believe that they must be friends based on Shunpei’s outgoing personality and the ties between each of their parents, they’re little more than well-acquainted with each other. That said he is more well-acquainted with the “Ghost of the Academy Library” than many of their contemporaries can attest to being, even if they aren’t strictly friends.
Sarutobi Kenjiro, 10
Uchiha Narumi, 31 Mom's BFF and Tensai's mom. Shunpei doesn't know about the unfortunate fate that she had recently met, but he does hold fond memories of the Uchiha woman that made him feel like a second son.
Aburame Koyomi, 28 Uncle's former teammate that he sometimes talks about. They know of each other based on hearsay from Toshiro, but have never actually met in person. There's a good chance Shunpei has some strange preconceptions in his head.
Kagetsu Kitanai, 28 "That Guy" or: Masataka's medical corps kouhai. He doesn't know much about this guy, but his dad complains talks about him occasionally, sometimes in comparison to Shunpei himself. Apparently he's "good at what he does, but is a big friggin' weirdo" among other, more grumbly things that he doesn't quite hear and probably wouldn't be allowed to repeat. Apparently, he's also "probably dead." Shunpei just assumes that they were probably friends, a suggestion which his mother reinforces, and would likely be inclined to treat him as such. Shunpei's dad can only sigh in defeat but aleast he won't have to deal with that, right?
Senju Hotsuma, 28 Uncle's other former teammate that he sometimes talks about. From what Shunpei has heard, this guy is some kind of implacable badass. Also, apparently a wonderful cook?

SPECIAL TRAITS
Chakra Potency: Though his physical gifts are nothing of note, Shunpei has been blessed with a great amount of exceptional chakra well suited for augmenting the efficacy and efficiency of his jutsu. His control of this chakra isn’t innately unusual negatively or positively, and as with most genin, it definitely needs practice if he wants to get his control down to an art.
Shape and Nature Transformation: Another trait that Shunpei definitely possesses but has gotten extremely little mileage out of is his innate affinity for chakra transformation. As the foundation for personalized ninjutsu, it grants him a high potential for the research and development of techniques. However, as far as priorities go Academy students aren’t mandated to learn a vast array of jutsu, which makes this skill of somewhat limited use to somebody as inexperienced as he.
Softest Hair: It's canon now, sorry not sorry.
FOCUS & SKILLS
General Ninjutsu: Considering his natural talents as well as his personality, this is Shunpei's most compatible and most potent discipline. As much as he wishes he were a talentless hack in order to justify his bad lifestyle choices, it’s more accurate to say that he’s a late-bloomer with latent affinity towards advanced combat grade ninjutsu - a savant who fails to comprehend the basics while capable of accomplishing things master wish they could. In the past, he was provided little opportunity to accurately demonstrate his affinity for more esoteric ninjutsu as a result of the Academy curricula, but fortunately under a jonin sensei he’ll likely have an opportunity to spread his wings.
Genjutsu: Likely the sole practical factor that sets Shunpei apart from his classmates was his burgeoning potential for decoding and deploying the most esoteric of the three basic ninja disciplines. However, as genjutsu is very unpopular and largely bypassed in favor of more concrete effects, he has received very few accolades for his aptitude. He himself doesn't pay much attention to it either, favoring the flashiness of ninjutsu. However, it is also said that to properly use genjutsu, an individual must possess the scintillating insight to craft potent illusions. Could this be a sign of the young Hatake's concealed intellect? Probably not. A less charitable, but likely more accurate, person might suggest that he's only figured out how to weaponize his keen perceptions and overactive imagination.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Shunpei is armed with the standard array of shinobi tools: wire, kunai, explosive tags, smoke bombs and the like. The only nonstandard component of his arsenal is a ko-wakizashi marked on the hilt with his clan’s crest. It was given as a graduation gift, and is sheathed horizontally along his lower back.

Whoever Tensai's father was, he seems to have left little to nothing in his son, who seems to have inherited almost all of the defining traits of the Uchiha clan. Though a select number of the clan's elders would insist against this. Black hair, black eyes, the only thing that seems to separate Tensai from his clansmen seems to be that he allows his face to show emotion. Why, he even smiles and laughs on a regular basis. Like his grandmother, Tensai is shorter than average, currently standing at 4'5".
Raised away from most of his kinsmen, Tensai doesn't garb himself as a typical Uchiha would, foregoing the high collar for a simple, long-sleeved gray t-shirt to go with brown shorts and uniform black sandals, though the fan of the Uchiha can be seen on the back of his shirt. He now keeps his medium length hair out of his face with the standard blue forehead protector.
Though an extremely recent development, Tensai's most notable trait are his now hauntingly pale grey eyes. One of his clansmen has described them as "having all their light snuffed out." Suffice to say, Tensai looks noticeably less cheerful than he did before.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Despite the relatively high scrutiny that was placed on him by the Uchiha Clan in the first several years of his life, Tensai remained an unerringly grounded, kindhearted and carefree child, unburdened by the expectations and responsibilities of being a member of the Uchiha Clan. It could be said that this is due in no small part to his mother's influence.
Wandering the village streets, helping old ladies with groceries, shuriken target practice. Tensai did it all. To him, life was great. He had a loving mother, friends, and no true worries in life. That he excelled at the Ninja Academy and was showered with praise because of it only added to his happy and confident demeanor. Amongst those in charge of the Uchiha Clan and the Ninja Academy alike, it was often said that Tensai lacked the diligence needed to make full use of his inherent ability, seeing as he frequently cut more "boring" classes in order to play games or get in extra ninjutsu training. However, most save the most rigid of clan elders assumed that Tensai would grow into his abilities in time once he had been exposed to life as a full fledged Genin.
As could be expected after the tragedy of his mother's death, Tensai has suffered a drastic shift in perspective and demeanor, becoming generally more distracted and distant, to the point where his reputation could be considered well-deserved. While still respectful and uniformly kind to his peers and superiors, Tensai has effectively put a wall between his emotions and his everyday life, though this can arguably be just a phase of the grieving process, and while pieces of Tensai's former personality are still locked away within him, it will take him some time for him, and his friends, to pull him back to his feet.
CLAN HISTORY
The Uchiha stand as one of the four founding clans of the Leaf Village, making theirs the oldest blood in the entirety of the village save for the likes of the Senju, Hyuga, and Sarutobi. As such, the Uchiha are intrinsically tied to Konoha, producing some of the finest shinobi in the village's history, including the Fourth Hokage, who led his fellow ninja throughout the Great Shinobi War. (To be finished)
PERSONAL HISTORY
A story not dissimilar to some of his classmates at the hidden leaf's ninja academy, Tensai was born near the tail end of the recent Shinobi World War to an Uchiha kunoichi by the name of Narumi and a man whose name Tensai never learned or heard of. One thing he wasn't allowed not to know about his father, however, was that the man clearly wasn't what the Elders of the Uchiha clan would call a worthy suitor for the daughter of the Clan's Matriarch.
Though Tensai was permitted to bare the name Uchiha, Narumi was all but cast out by her clan and forced to raise Tensai as a single mother. Despite this, Tensai has shown no ill will towards his situation or his clanmates. Too young to understand the implications of such things, Narumi instead chose to raise Tensai as a normal child of the Leaf Village, and the Uchiha Clan was content to let her do so. That is, until Tensai enrolled in the village's Ninja Academy.
Once he began his formal shinobi training, Tensai emerged as a naturally gifted, some would go as far as to say prodigious, practitioner of the ninja arts. Initially, the development was simply dismissed due to Tensai's being an Uchiha. After all, Uchiha were expected to be better than most. But Tensai had no such formal training at the hand of his clanmates like everyone seemed to assume, which only added to his steadily growing reputation. However, within a year, the conjecture only seemed to grow. Tensai was already capable of walking up the side of a tree. It wouldn't be long until he was spewing fireballs from his mouth like the other shinobi of his clan. These were the sort accolades the more knowledgeable in their implications gave to Tensai, and without a doubt, Tensai lived up to them in every area save written grades.
All said, this time of Tensai's life was the closest thing to idyllic he'd probably ever get. Praised by his peers and superiors alike, the center of attention in pretty much any class he was in, and a blissfully happy home life? What more could a young shinobi in training ask for? All that was left was the formality of the graduation exam and Tensai would be on his way to becoming a hero like those in the stories his mother always told him about.
Some months later, Tensai aced the graduation exam with top marks in all fields, and to celebrate, Narumi took him on a trip to the Land of Fire's countryside. He'd finally done it. All the hard work had payed off. He could start living life like everyone else. Well, living life like every other shinobi. Tensai doesn't quite remember how it started or who the attackers were, rogue shinobi, bandits, barbarians, it didn't matter. The one sight still fresh in Tensai's mind is that of a tanto shoved cleanly through his mother's gut. The next minute or so was a blur, a man approaching him with his weapon drawn, a blink, the feel of blood running down his eye, the scream of a man writhing on the ground, set ablaze by the black flames of the Amaterasu, and then nothing. Absolutely nothing.
The sheer amount of chakra output and pain required to activate his mangekyou sharingan was too much on Tensai's young body, and the action effectively destroyed his optic nerves, rendering him blind. The boy was found by a pair of travelers some time later and returned to Konoha, where he has slowly begun the process of grieving his mother and moving forward. Despite his predicament, Tensai maintains his desire to become a shinobi, seeing it as a way to honor his mother and ensure he doesn't spend the rest of his life in mourning.
As the death of Narumi and Tensai's subsequent blindness occurred very recently, Tensai has not been seen since, and the graduation ceremony will be the first time in several days that any of his classmates have laid eyes on him.

Hatake Shunpei: Tensai and Shunpei have known each other longer than their years in the academy would imply, as their mothers had been best friends and, seeing as they had two similarly aged children, introduced the two to each other almost immediately, forging a lifelong bond between the two in the form of driving the adults of the village mad with their antics. In short, Tensai thinks of Shunpei as nothing less than a brother, and treats the Hatake household as if they were extended family. A true home away from home.
Inuzuka Kegawa: While Shunpei is the first friend Tensai ever had in life, Kegawa is the first friend he managed to make after entering Konoha's shinobi academy. On their first day, Tensai had the fortune of being approached by a distressed Kegawa who had somehow lost track of her ninken partner, Momomaru. As you do when you're only seven years old, Tensai leapt at the opportunity for adventure, and after much aimless wandering and shouting, Momomaru was found stuck in a tree. Without hesitation, Tensai climbed the wooden prison and freed the imperiled pooch, much to Kegawa's relief. Thus began the two's close friendship, as Tensai took it upon himself to introduce Kegawa to Shunpei the very next day. He's still trying to convince Momomaru to be the group's official mascot.
Uzumaki Kiyoshi: Against all odds, or rather, against all expectations given Kiyoshi's personality, he and Tensai have formed an odd friendship throughout their schooling. By some mistake of fate, Kiyoshi was made into Tensai's academic tutor due to the Uchiha's admittedly below average written exam grades. Essentially, whenever Tensai hadn't managed to sneak off with Shunpei and Kegawa or escape his mother's judging glare, he spent his time studying with, or rather under, Kiyoshi, much to the latter's annoyance. Tensai made numerous attempts to have Kiyoshi join in his group's usual shenanigans, to limited success.
Namikaze Fukushu: Of all his classmates, the one Tensai has struggled the most with is Fukushu. He finds himself wondering why he seems to be the target for all of Fukushu's cold jibes and insults despite his never being outright hostile to her in any way. While he has tried multiple times to reach out to Fukushu over the years, her increasingly dour attitude has turned Tensai to simply ignoring her whenever he can, though he still has a tendency to jolt up whenever she shoots him one of her piercing glares.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Chakra Sensor: Though blind, Tensai seems to have awakened some form of latent ability as a sensor type. At present, Tensai's sensory skill is, well, practically nonexistent. He claims to have random "flashes" of color when people walk past him or just before he walks into someone. Just how potent this ability will become is anyone's guess however.
FOCUS & SKILLS
First and foremost, while Tensai was undoubtedly talented at almost all things ninja, there was one thing he made abundantly clear throughout his academy years; he knew next to nothing about the academics of his craft. This is not to say he didn't train diligently, quite the opposite. Tensai always threw himself at lessons enthusiastically when they didn't involve putting pencil to paper. He seemed to simply learn things after observing them, and when asked to explain how he did so, he'd shrug and wonder how walking up a tree with one's chakra or throwing three shuriken at once wasn't easy to everyone else. In short, Tensai excelled at the physical aspect of the shinobi and all but ignored the mental. A natural grasp of movement and molding his own chakra has formed the foundation of Tensai's skill set. Now unable to "do what he sees" as it were, Tensai's growth as a shinobi has undoubtedly been stunted. Just how severely and for how long has yet to be seen.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Tensai has shown a preference for the uniform kunai and shuriken during his time in the academy, and has experimented with manipulating his projectiles with ninja wire. Nobody tell him blindness renders your accuracy severely hampered.
JUTSU
Obvious list is obvious. Link to the Naruto wiki as well.
Katsu almost always has his bright red gas mask on, so his face is usually concealed completely. Baggy, hooded clothing usually conceals much of the rest of him as well. However, he's short for his age and pale where his skin is visible.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Compared to the reputation of most Aburame, Katsu is wild, carefree and hotblooded in daily life, responding to most situations with energetic cheer and enthusiasm despite his mask often muffling his exclamations. In fact, he tries to keep himself constantly in a state of irrepressible love for life as much as possible because it keeps his mind off of the fact that he's essentially a living bomb.
After coming to terms with the fact that he could perish in a fiery explosion if any of his insects became defective, he resolved to try and throw off despair and dread and wring as much joy and passion out of life as he could just-in-case. That said, he constantly lives with the possibility that he might violently explode and can't always cope with the weight of such an intense fate in spite of his sunny disposition. He's been told time and again that it's fairly rare for the bakuchu to accept a host as easily as they did and that it's his duty to use the power they'll give him to serve the village as a great ninja and as a result he's constantly torn between trying to live a full and enjoyable life and his duty to the village and his clan.
Katsu is actually extremely intelligent and has a highly analytical mind for his age. However, he often downplays his own cleverness and prefers to play the role of a good-natured, excitable fool.
CLAN HISTORY
A rough or detailed recent history of your dynastic clan. For world-building.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Katsu's life was only uneventful up until it was time for him to undergo his Clan's ritual of becoming a host for parasitic chakra insects. Katsu was embraced by the unusual bakuhachu, the explosive insects choosing him as a home. This had a wide-reaching impact on Katsu's life that's shaped him throughout. The reaction to having an explosive host among them has been different for each member of the Aburame Clan. Some treat him with nervousness or fear, knowing that if something went wrong, a bakuhachu host could literally explode.
Others treat him with pitying kindness, knowing better than he the mix of danger and burden that the insects give him. All of them take pains to impress a strong sense of duty to the village and the clan on him, insisting that his potential for destruction needs to be used with care and purpose.
Katsu himself used to be deathly afraid of his own body and sure of his own imminent self-destruction. He wore a white mask and shroud so he'd be ready if he died. But several years ago he was helped to the realization that he wasn't really living even though he was alive. He decided that if his life might be short and have an explosive end, he would live that life to the fullest. He changed his white gas mask to a cheery, bright and hot-blooded red one and dedicated himself to that ideal.
This puts him at odds with some of the other clan members who misguidedly think he's no longer taking his situation seriously enough.
In terms of his life at the Academy, he was generally easy to pull into shenanigans and eager to goof off and have fun, though his natural intellect meant that he always did well in terms of actual work and tests provided he remembered to apply himself.

Katsu has one of the more unusual variety known as bakuhachu. Bakuhachu are beetles that use a combination of chakra and naturally occurring chemical compounds inside their bodies to produce explosions as a means of self-destructive predator deterrence.
Essentially, control over the bakuhachu means he has access to a living arsenal of various remote explosives. He hasn't yet tapped this to anywhere near its' full potential outside of private family training.
FOCUS & SKILLS
If fighting seriously, Katsu prefers strategy and out thinking opponents, fighting smarter not harder to ensure that victory is won before the first punch is thrown. Part of this is down to the training for his explosive Aburame ninjutsu beating the necessity for precision and timing into him. To cut down on using the bakuhachu he primarily relies on various ninja tools both explosive and non-explosive to fight. He also knows more Taijutsu than he usually lets on, but prefers to deflect and avoid close-in attacks.

Appearance Shorter than the village average at four foot three, it doesn't help that Ren's lean build only makes him seem even smaller than he already is. He also doesn't appear to be an outdoor type given his fair complexion, which makes him seem like a weak person in the eyes of his peers.
That aside, Ren looks nothing like his fraternal twin sister, Aoi. Rather, he's almost a splitting image of his father, Hideki -- especially the messy jet-black hair -- except the emerald green eyes he has inherited from his mother, Kazuha. Often seen in dark-colored garbs that reflect his mysterious, quiet nature, though some may say it's a way to keep himself out of sight -- and in turn, out of unnecessary troubles.
His short height and babyface would contribute to cases of gender crisis, causing him to be mistaken as a girl at times. Not helping when Kazuha used to doll him up in female clothes when the twins were much younger, and he actually looked good in them. (Of course, when Hideki found that out, he's completely unimpressed with his wife's antics.)
Personality When asked, most people would tell you that Ren is a stoic boy for his age, taking after his father beyond mere looks: down to earth and diligent in his studies and chores, wasting no breath to strive for the best he can do. Though, it's an amusing clash with another side of him: while he has no qualms to go beyond his current capability, he has no interest in competing with others, preferring to stay out of everyone's way -- most importantly, from trouble. He doesn't like to get involved in things he deemed as 'bothersome', even less when it's built on stupid impulses. It doesn't help to grow up with a hyperactive and possessive sister... and Ren hopes to get the little bit of peace he has yearned for when the twins are going to be sorted under different genin teams. His low tolerance for inconvenience also extends to his habit of calling people by names based on his first impression of them -- where he clearly doesn't bother with their real names at all unless he feels truly attached to them (which would probably take years for him to acknowledge the person).
Ren often keeps to himself and thus giving off a secretive, mysterious aura. His mild-mannered and apathetic nature makes him appear much more mature than his own age, setting him aside from his more rowdy, outgoing peers. If one can break through the quiet, impassive mask, you'd be surprised at his sardonic side with a dry sense of humor. It's hard to get along with him at first due to his somewhat unsociable front -- he just takes longer than most others to warm up to someone. While he seems hesitant to take the first step to approach people, he has no qualms to observe them from a distance. His thirst for knowledge to satisfy his curiosity knows no bounds, though sometimes that makes him treat others as study subjects more than a person.
Ren is not someone who is void of emotions per se; rather, he's merely awkward when it comes to expressing himself to others. He puts logic before emotions, preferring to reason rationally instead of raising his voice to get his point across. He may come off as insensitive and blunt, but he's still has enough common sense to understand the warning signs and take a step back from the rising heat.
While Ren has a lot of self-discipline, he's ultimately still a human -- a ten-year-old kid -- and there are things that can break his cool demeanor. For example, no matter how much he acts as if he doesn't like Aoi, he does care for her, and he will fight to protect her. As much as he has a decently long fuse for bullshits, he still inherits the 'Haruno fire' that has kept their small clan alive all this while: his bad side is as frightening as his devious sister... Or even comparable to Kazuha, who's already well-known throughout the village with an equally terrifying title to match: the Demon-Strength Acupuncturist.
Personal History One would expect that children born after the end of the Great Shinobi War would grow up peacefully in the new era, but that didn't extend to the individual problems within the four walls of the respective clans. Not even minor clans like the Haruno were spared -- especially through Ren's eyes.
For one, he was born as a fraternal twin to his childhood nightmare in the form of his younger sister, Aoi. He spent most of his time before his debut at the academy with her, even training hard together under their mother. The twins were quick to learn that Kazuha was no forgiving sensei, sparing to effort to impart the basic of the basics in the Haruno clan: chakra control. Unlike the more prestigious clans with natural-born talent in this (case in point, the Hyuga), to the Haruno it was a means for the family's survival in the village, given their unimpressive chakra pool and to condition themselves for dragged-out situations. Which was most of the time due to their genre of business: trading, from information to even secrets.
Ren had given up trying to escape from the clingy Aoi and simply concentrated on his training without a care for the world around him. By the time he was enrolled into the academy, he already had above-average chakra control for a kid of his age. Beneath his laid-back, disinterested facade, Ren was a closet hard worker, where his efforts were later paid off through his excellent academic results. Though, with his dislike for attention and would opt to erase his presence to avoid joining cliques, few were aware of his existence. Seeing his name near the top of the annual academy ranking list only raised questions among some of his peers: just who the hell's 'Haruno Ren'?
Of course, Ren wasn't completely invisible. Maybe it's too early to call them 'friends' right now, but at the very least he did made some acquaintances he could hold a conversation or two with. While he would be glad to be separated from Aoi once he's sorted to a genin team, there was another issue: he could no longer enjoy those days of solitude at his own pace, but he'd have to learn to work together with his new team -- whether he'd like them or not.
T A L E N T S
Tactician / Strategist Ren is an intelligent boy -- and wise beyond his young age -- but where will his smarts be of an asset in his road as a ninja of Konohagakure? His general dislike for dealing with conflicts and troublesome situations have propelled him to use his brain to find better solutions to get things done and over with quickly and efficiently. Rather than charging head-first into a fight or battle like most of his hot-blooded peers, he prefers to observe and analyze his surroundings first, sometimes also testing the capabilities of his opponents. Then, he'll formulate a plan in his mind before he finishes his enemies with quick strikes to their weak points. Though, if it's nothing serious or life-threatening, Ren is content to simply trick his opponent to give him an opening to escape from them and leave him in his own peace.
This trait is also extremely important to the next bit -- or else he'd end up killing his own people by mistake.
Ranged Specialist It's to no one's surprise that Ren is a shinobi who aces the art of ranged battles. The following traits discussed below are key skills to his repertoire, enabling him to turn typical close-combat weaponry into maneuverable projectiles. It also works well with his fighting style and chakra nature, allowing him to perform stealth and sneak attacks with ease, and manipulating the speed and force of his projectiles with Wind Release jutsu.
Refined Chakra Control Under the strict tutelage of his mother, Kazuha, Ren counters the downside of his small chakra pool with extremely precise control, allowing him to perform jutsu with maximum efficiency and little to no wastage. It's possible that he's on par with those from the Hyuga clan, but it's difficult to determine given his secretive nature.
This trait also gives Ren an edge to resist against generic genjutsu, and to a lesser degree, a crude application of Chakra-Enhanced Strength (in which the latter is something Ren still can't control it well at his current age).
Chakra Flow / Chakra Thread Manipulation While Ren may not have the same mastery in this compared to the aforementioned, you still won't want to underestimate him. For one, he can use wind jutsu to further sharpen the projectiles to increase their lethalness. This also forms the basis of other jutsu techniques he employs, which requires the use of Chakra Threads to manipulate the trajectory course of the thrown shuriken or kunai.
Besides using chakra threads to throw and control projectiles, he can use the threads as extended arms to grab any weapons around him -- or even off his opponents -- and maximize the arsenal of projectiles he can get his hands on. However, he still requires more training to be able to fully suppress the threads and make them completely invisible.
Alternatively, to conserve his chakra pool, he may opt to use the metal wires provided in standard ninja tool packs, but they are slower and less versatile in maneuverability compared to chakra threads.
Ninjutsu A no-brainer to Ren that he has to excel in this to truly show the full potential of his fighting style and techniques. Although wind may not be the strongest nor fastest elemental nature, he spares no effort to master its use, combining with his outstanding chakra control for maximum utilization of what he's capable of.

APPEARANCE
Members of the Inuzuka clan are easily identified by the fang markings on their cheeks, and Kegawa is no different. She has piercing orange eyes, which combined with a cheeky smile are just a recipe for disaster in general. Her hair is the same, bright shade of orange. The clothing she wears is loose fitting and a dark shade of green, as to blend in with the trees in Konoha.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Kegawa as a person is rather passive, contrasting her clan’s usual hot-blooded nature. While she has a strong passion for becoming a shinobi, it is strictly in order to help other people. She considers herself altruistic, and will often deprive herself of her own basic needs if it is to help someone else in the long-run. Despite this “altruism”, there are certain points where she’ll do things that only help herself.
Kegawa is motivated by her clan, family is something that matters a lot to her, and she constantly strives for approval from her dad and extended family. Though her mother left her, and her father isn’t really even a proper father, she constantly pines for attention from him. This validation is something that she needs, or else she’ll spiral into a depressive episode that is helpful to no one.
Kegawa is a very loyal person, just as a dog is to their master. She’ll stand by her friends even in the darkest of situations, but regardless of this, if she knows what her friends are doing is wrong she won’t just let it happen. There’s an extent to everything. Kegawa has drive, and determination. These traits keep her going no matter what, which is something that she believes to be very admirable.

Hige and Tosa were overwhelmed with the child, and so they stopped trying to take care of it to their best abilities. Instead, they half-assed the entire thing, barely providing her with the support she needs. To top it all off, Tosa left Hige, and he resorted to alcohol to deal with the grief.
Hige is an angry drunk, but while he’s thrown things and broken things, he’s not hit Kegawa as of yet. Whenever Hige gets drunk, Kegawa runs off to her Aunt and Uncle’s house, where she trains or plays games with the two of them. It depends on the day, but usually it’s games that calm her down from her father’s yelling. On the off-days she runs over just because she doesn’t have anything to eat, they’ll usually enjoy a nice lunch and teach Kegawa a technique or work on one they’ve covered in the past.
Kegawa excelled in the academy despite her not-so-desirable home life, her ability to retain information quickly is an important trait for her to have as a future shinobi. In lessons, she was found to be able to quickly scan through a mapped out area and decide how she should move through it. What’s harder for her is positioning her team members, as she believes it to be incredibly awkward in positioning them correctly. Regardless of why, she thinks that her battle strategy could be better.
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Senju Hotsuma
As Kegawa's sensei, he teaches her a lot on what it really means to be a shinobi. This is very important to her, because her nindo is to become the best shinobi she possibly can. These values that are instilled in her make her much more valuable as a student, which is what she believes, at least.
Matsudaira Kiri
Kegawa and Kiri have a few similarities. Kiri's charitable nature is very similar to Kegawa's altruistic ideals. Though Kegawa will often deprive herself of her own basic needs, which she doesn't believe that Kiri would do. Not as an attack on her, it just doesn't seem like it's something she's willing to do, though Kegawa is sure she could be proven wrong.
Aburame Katsu
Kegawa is weirded out by the Aburame, she could never imagine having a bunch of bugs in her body all the time every day. Katsu is different to most of her clan, which Kegawa can relate with strongly. Katsu is hot blooded in contrast to the calm, cool personality of the other Aburame. Likewise, Kegawa is more calm and passive, yet passionate, which is wildly different from the rest of the Inuzuka.
Murakumo Mikoto, 12
Mikoto’s personality is interesting to Kegawa, as they’re not very similar at all. They do share a passion for their field of interest, that is the only similarity that can be drawn between the two. Mikoto with her specific sect of Kenjutsu, and Kegawa with her Taijutsu and Inuzuka Hiden.
Uchiha Ria, 11
Ria and Kegawa share the same “cutes-y” personality in the sense that they’re both cheerful. Kegawa believes that Ria’s a bit melodramatic, however, and that really turns Kegawa off from being close friends with her at all. Kegawa believes that she is “above” silly drama, and that she has better things to do than become involved.

Iburi Kodo
Ryūga Tsume
Uchiha Tensai
Kegawa and Tensai have been friends since their first day at the academy, when Kegawa approached the prodigy in search of Momomaru. She lost her dog on the first day, real smart. The Uchiha helped her retrieve her faithful ninken, who had run off to chase some ninneko up a tree. From then on, the two have been close friends. Definite crush on him. Shunpei is the only one who knows.
Hatake Shunpei
Tensai was the one to introduce Kegawa to Shunpei, which seemed out of character considering Shunpei was usually the one trying to help Tensai make friends. Kegawa and Shunpei bond over their friendship with Tensai, but slowly grow to enjoy each other as friends as well. Shunpei often makes fun of the amount of Mo's in Momomaru's name, which usually provokes Momomaru, and Kegawa doesn't hold her back.
Haruno Ren
Kegawa and Ren's relationship is born through solitude and Kegawa’s intense need to be away from the other students after she’s been tuckered out of social situations. They value each other’s company, even if they’re just sitting in the library reading scrolls. The basis of their friendship is based off of their mutual strong value of silence.
Namikaze Fukushu
Uzumaki Kiyoshi
Sarutobi Kenjiro
Kegawa feels bad for Kenjiro, being in his brother’s shadow and all. While Genji is a more skilled student, Kegawa believes that Kenjiro would be a better shinobi in general. His personality fits for it, but Genji is arrogant, self-absorbed, and bluntly, Kegawa thinks he’s a dick.
Inuzuka Hige, 36.
Hige as a father figure is lacking, despite his daughter looking up to him, he has no intentions in teaching her any skills. He brushes her off, but she constantly tries to get his attention.
Inuzuka Shippo, 38
The elder brother of Hige, Shippo is a vastly superior father figure to his niece. He and his wife frequently train her in the Hiden of their clan, as so she would not fall behind any other students. He is extremely disappointed in his deadbeat brother, and even more upset that her mother fled Konoha. The relationship between Shippo and Kegawa is heartwarming, as whenever Hige shoos her off, Shippo is there to give her attention.
Inuzuka Akita, 40
Shippo’s wife and Kegawa’s aunt, Akita is a strong maternal figure for Kegawa. While Kegawa isn’t all too interested in boys, or even girls, she much prefers dogs at the moment, Akita has expressed that she’s always around for her “boy problems.” Which really just makes Kegawa cringe. Akita is the prime example of an embarrassing mother.
Momomaru, 3 Momomaru is Kegawa’s partner and best friend. She is a better dog than anyone could have asked for, and while neither of them seem like much at first glance, together they are a powerful duo. As her name implies, after ingesting a food pill, she’ll turn a shade of hot pink, which seems relatively innocent and laughable at first, but Momomaru is a force to be reckoned with.
CHAKRA NATURE
Fire
SPECIAL TRAITS
Fire Techniques: As an Inuzuka, Kegawa has been drilled on how to use her techniques proficiently, and has even given them her own personal flair. Within most of her techniques, she lights them ablaze through mixing Great Fireball with whatever she's doing. Whilst Kegawa spins during Passing Fang, she kneads chakra in her stomach and blows it out, shooting fire out around her and strengthening her technique.
Battle Strategy: Kegawa is proficient in the placement of herself in battle situations, but commanding others is something that would need to be worked on. She thinks that it’s difficult to worry about the placement of one’s own body along with the placement of her team.
FOCUS & SKILLS
Taijutsu: Kegawa is proficient in Taijutsu, as her family has taught her to use it quite effectively, barring her father of course. Passing Fang was one of the first techniques that Kegawa learned to use, and while she’s not attempted to do so, she’s sure she could break through a wall with it.
Chakra: Kegawa’s chakra pool is large enough to use most of the techniques she uses that actually require chakra, but in general it’s not too big. She relies on her food pills to strengthen and replenish her chakra.
Ninjutsu: In general, Kegawa does not utilize many ninjutsu techniques, but she hopes to become proficient in both Taijutsu and Ninjutsu, as that is the beginning to becoming a powerful shinobi.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
A sack of Military Ration Pills Flash Bombs: Kegawa uses her Flash Bombs in correlation with her Beast Human Clone technique to confuse her enemy in regards to who’s Momomaru and who’s Kegawa. Kunai: Used to activate Flash Bombs.
“Chakra is not a tool meant for killing, but for communication. It is the great connector of all living things.”

Genin
APPEARANCE
Despite his newly-appointed status as a genin, Kodo still appears very much like a young monk would; He prefers flowy, grey clothing with muted accents, paired with plain white socks and traditional geta. He wears nothing unnecessary -- no accessories, jewelry, armor, or hats, with even his leaf village headband securely around his waist in a display of modesty. When it is especially cold or raining heavily, Kodo will wear Konohagakure's traditional white-and-red striped cloak, though that seems to be as decorated as he gets. Typical of his maternal lineage, he has hair so light it seems white with green eyes, while his nose and pointed features were supposedly inherited from his absentee father. In terms of his physique, Kodo is notably lean and taut, as a result of his vegetarian diet and strict exercise regimen.
PERSONALITY & MOTIVATIONS
Kodo is everything one would expect a boy raised in a temple to be like. He is quiet, meticulous, polite, and stoic to an almost aggravating extent, often failing to pick up on nuanced social cues. He is unfailingly kind, and though he maintains a quiet distance between himself and his comrades, he frequently shows a genuine interest in the happiness and well-being of those around him. Though he is very rarely seen smiling, it would be inaccurate to say he is at all solemn or grim; Kodo's emotionless attitude is one of forced restraint than gloom or nihilism. Though this attitude is derived from his discipline rather than his natural personality, it would be unfair to refer to Kodo's detached mannerisms as a "mask", or any similar descriptor, as stoicism instilled through discipline has simply become Kodo's personality. It might not have been Kodo when he was taken to the temple, though then again, very little about him is.
Despite his zen, carefree outlook, Kodo is not free from his own brand of inner demons. He harbors feelings of abandonment towards his parents for sending him to an isolated temple as an infant, and for disappearing as parental figures afterwards -- His father as a missing nin and his mother having fallen ill years ago. Kodo feels a similar resentment towards the temple for sending him out to become a ninja without letting him know the true reason why, and in many ways, resentment towards himself for not being able to fully detach from emotional bonds as a proper monk should. In order to distract himself from these difficulties, Kodo throws himself into his training, be it ninjutsu or monasticism.
Aside from his emotionless mannerisms, abandonment issues, and knack for productivity, the final major facet of Kodo's personality is his identification as a monk of Ninshu; He was instructed by the monks to become a jonin before attaining monkhood because of his strong attachment to his life at the temple as an acolyte, which the monks saw as an extension of Kodo's ego. Kodo genuinely enjoys the life of monasticism, and fully intends to return to it after completing his "test". Spending his childhood in a monastery has hardened Kodo, instilling intensely rigid habits in his daily life -- He is a vegetarian who begins his mornings with a half hour of prayer and half hour of exercise, who frequently tries to avoid simple comforts out of a sense of misguided duty. At the Fire Temple, monks eat mostly rice porridge and seaweed, for instance, which is now the only thing Kodo knows how to cook. The same monks almost exclusively communicate through Ninshu, and so Kodo is now a boy unfamiliar with noisy crowds or conversation.
CLAN HISTORY
The Iburi name is synonymous in Konoha for their riches and reclusive nature, and across the world for their fine incense. One of the first cultivators and sellers of incense, the Iburi mon is one of the few found in every nation, be it in the small, expensive tins of incense one would gift a daimyo to the crates of plain, slow-burning incense sold at temples. As such, the Iburi compound features two impressive sets of high stone walls, and though ninjutsu makes scaling these an easy feat, the Iburi walls are seen by many as being more of a statement than a protective measure -- The Iburi are behind their walls, the rest of the world is beyond them, and the two are not equal. The Iburi have surprisingly few connections or allies for all of their riches, which is owed to their proud clannishness. Additionally, the unpopular view of the Iburi is also affected by their statistically high number of missing nin. Their Kekkai Genkai, the Smoke Release, allows a member of the clan to turn themselves into smoke, which can torture, possess, or outright suffocate opponents. As a result, members of this affluent clan are equipped with a tool for assassination and sense of superiority at the moment of their birth, two features that are seen as cause for their high rate of disappearance and desertion.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Kodo was born to Iburi Satoshi and Yamanaka Aina thirteen years ago, in the spring shortly after the war's end. His parents, who had both lost countless friends in the recent war had become disillusioned with their village ways and instead of sending their son to the academy, the couple opted to send their son to the Fire Temple. He would not learn military techniques during his childhood at the academy, but become a man of peace and discipline. Shortly after Kodo was sent away, his father Satoshi went missing, and has remained under Konoha's missing nin registry to this day.
At the temple, Kodo had surprising success with the harsh rules instilled by the monks, and thoroughly devoted his life to the spiritual branch of Ninshu. During this time he learned to communicate through the use of chakra, one of the main tenets of the high monks who taught him, who otherwise maintained vows of silence. Learning this ability early in life has made Kodo something of an empath, which he uses when "reading" people. Kodo stayed at the temple for ten years, until a fateful winter morning when pulled aside by the monks at the age of eleven -- Kodo was instructed that his fondness for the ways of the temple were appreciated, but an extension of pride and ego as great as any other. Additionally, the monks mentioned, they had received word that Kodo's mother had fallen ill, and with his father's absence and her shunned status from both the Yamanaka and Iburi clan, Kodo would have to care for her. After asking about the duration of his stay, Kodo was told that by the time he attains the rank of Jonin, he may return to the temple.
Since then, Kodo has had a fairly quiet life, which seems to be the closest thing he can get to still being a monk. Aside from his time spent catching up to the academy standards -- a feat that would take him two years, making him one of the older genins -- Kodo does very little but care for his mother Aina, train, and meditate. There is a white hare that frequents his garden named Yuki he sometimes feeds, though Kodo has no other pets or remarkable hobbies.
INFLUENCE & RELATIONS
Kodo and his mother Aina are pariahs of a sort within the Iburi compound; Aina, not a true Iburi but a Yamanaka by birth, is seen as a sponge of the Iburi fortune with her steadily declining health. Because the Yamanaka clan disavowed themselves of her following Satoshi's disappearance, the Iburis have allowed Aina to stay in their compound for the remainder of her life on the condition that she wait for the husband she is still married to. Her son Kodo is viewed with a similar pity -- An impure half-Iburi who has inherited none of his father's features, sent by his half-mad feverish mother and traitor father to some grey faraway temple too early to know anything of his clan's ways or history. Aside from his mother, his closest relative is his father's cousin Kahori, who periodically drops off groceries and medicine at their doorstep.

SPECIAL TRAITS
Smoke Release: The Iburi clan carry a genetic ability -- specifically in their bloodstream -- that allow them to transform partially or fully into smoke. Most frequently, this involves slipping through bars and restraints, levitating, avoiding attacks, or moving quickly in three dimensions, though it has been developed into more advanced techniques such as using one's smoke form to enter opponents through the nose or mouth, torturing or outright suffocating them to death. Because the Iburi does not have to completely transform into smoke, this generally leaves their taijutsu practitioners with a style relying on avoiding their opponent's attacks while countering with a flurry of blows from all directions. The main weakness of this kekkai genkai is its susceptibility to wind; While in their smoke form, an Iburi can be torn apart by strong enough winds, such as those found in storms, mountains, or from Wind-based jutsu.
Ninshu Radar: Kodo's focused, lifelong study of Ninshu has allowed him to wordlessly communicate with other Ninshu users, as well as sense the emotions of others -- including those he does not see. In mission scenarios, this makes him akin to a chakra sensor, as he preemptively senses emotions such as fear, excitement, anger, anticipation, or any other emotion felt by those hiding from him. That being said, this can be negated by a lack of any emotion, such as those who are unconscious, meditating, or through more advanced means -- such as certain genjutsu or trained techniques.
FOCUS & SKILLS
Kodo, for lack of a better phrase, should really not be a ninja. He cannot bring himself to use a bladed weapon, a moral taught to him even by the warrior monks at the temple who would not arm themselves, and thereby does not make use of kunai, senbon, or shuriken. Also learned at the temple is the belief that trickery is immoral, which is the cause for Kodo's refusal to learn any genjutsu beyond the body substitution technique. Most of all, Kodo will simply not kill an enemy, no matter the cost -- it is no greater a choice than his refusal to eat meat, but it is his choice nonetheless. These philosophical barriers have proved troublesome for Kodo's ninja training, though he has attained the rank of genin all the same by compensating with strength in other fields.
Kodo has strength and stamina outweighing most of his peer group, as a result of his near-ascetic diet, exercise regime, and slight outbalance of age. Additionally, Kodo has learned to rely on his versatile kekkai genkai, which he can use in a multitude of ways -- Though some would call it over-reliance, Kodo's Smoke Release allows him to dodge attacks, move around the battlefield at an unnatural speed, hide himself and allies, and make use of a versatile, tentacle-like smoke whip. Though Kodo refuses to properly arm himself or use deadly force, his powerful kekkai genkai allows him to retain an advantage in many combative scenarios.
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
Kodo wears metal armguards like those used by ANBU to deflect projectiles or bladed weapons, though otherwise the only supplies he takes on missions are smoke bombs, a favored tool of his clan. He currently has three types; Red smoke, which is meant to burn the eyes and lungs and cause enemies to flee, yellow smoke, which is a compound made mostly of sleeping gas and sedative, and blue smoke, which Kodo uses to control and make physical with the Stone Smoke technique or use for cover.
A variant of the Iburi clan's Smoke Release, this jutsu allows a user to control smoke and imbue it with chakra to turn it into a physical object. This is most frequently done in the form of whip-like tendrils, spikes, or spheres, though more complicated structures such as barriers, cages, or rope would be possible, depending on the experience of the user.

Description
A variant of the Iburi clan's Smoke Release, the Spiraling Smoke Technique requires the user to first transform into their smoke form, and then while they move, spin their shape into a thin, pointed spire to move around more quickly, and into concentrated openings such as keyholes or an opponent's nostrils.

Description
A variant of the Iburi clan's Smoke Release, the Fragrant Incense Technique requires a user to take a large breathe, imbuing the air with chakra as they do so, and exhaling a cloud of thick pink smoke. Those who breathe in this smoke suffer mild auditory and visual hallucinations, weakened sensory systems, and fatigue. However, because the smoke is equal to the air the user can inhale, it must be performed in close quarters.
