Joseph was born into the Leidner family, who own a small company – not big enough to make them rich. However, with the success of Sumeragi Group, their company is no longer doing well.
His affinity for mathematics and logic was discovered early on, as he absorbed information on those topics like a sponge, quickly moving ahead of his classmates, but never skipping a grade as what he has in mathematics he lacked in language. Translation wasn't his problem, but interpretation, specifically reading between the lines.
While in school Joseph witnessed another kid get bullied because they were an adept, so when he discovered his own septima, he decided to keep it secret from everyone, only using it if necessary or on his own in private.

Developing a rather calculating personality over the years, Joseph decided it might be a good idea to help his family's business by either finding or creating a niche, in which they can outcompete the Sumeragi Group. For that purpose, he is currently on a vacation in the city, that houses the Sumeragi Group's headquarters, trying himself at industrial espionage, without the goal of stealing technology.

To aid him with that, he was given a ring from the family heirloom, which, as Joseph found out by chance while wearing it, can interact with septima.

Bio

Personality-wise, Gavin is a person who craves interaction with others, with a natural kindness and generosity, sometimes verging on softness, that the young man tries to use to aid in said interaction. On the reverse, Gavin hates being left alone outside of combat situations, and he clearly doesn't like being isolated socially. So his impulse is to surround himself with friends and companions, although one should note that if said friends and companions do something harmful, Gavin would fight them, even though it would hurt him to do so. Thus, Gavin greatly values being around people who are humane and have understandable moral codes.

Born in San Francisco, Gavin was a boy obsessed with astronomy in his youth, but shifted to history later on, while maintaining love for the stars. Born to a family that valued solidarity among family, no matter who they may be inside, Gavin found out that there were people willing to stand by him even when his sexual orientation (he is bisexual) and status as an Adept were discovered. Eventually, he joined the Army, and at the young age of eighteen, made the cut for a Navy SEAL, even without using his Septima. Of course, he managed to succeed in that career only with the help of friends, friends who told him 'terrorists are terrorists; you can wonder about their motives after you shoot them', as well as 'there are things on this world worth killing for, and dying for'.

In time, Gavin would become good at what he did, his skills in mobility enabling him to take out targets from afar, from mid-range, or even in a straight fight. He can appear anywhere, surprise the enemy, and, with his team, take them out without casualties on their side. But in time, Gavin knew that their luck might run out, and that when that happened, he was going to need more friends...

Biography:
Palav grew up in a small village in Tashkent. Once he became older, he joined the newly formed Adept Representation and Education of Neutral Affiliates, in order to support the group, and seek safety in its numbers. He soon, however, found solidarity, as he excelled to the point of becoming a field operative in a relatively short time. Due to the resources at A.R.E.N.A's disposal, he was able to acquire a specialized spear attuned to his Septima, with a counterbore guard near the end of the blade.
A cool, levelheaded individual, Palav is sometimes seen as someone who's hard to talk to. His responses often come off as cold and distant, as he tends to be rather terse. Despite seeming emotionless, Palav has preferences and his own way of doing things. While he'll usually let a one-time annoyance slide, constant infractions will soon raise his ire.

Itachi was born into a small family in a small mountain village. As a kid he grew up with news of sumeragi's research, but excluded as he was in the small mountain village, the news never interested him much. from age 14 his parents trained him in kusarigamajutsu, which was considered an art as well as a means of defense in his village. Around this time he also stated paying more attention to the news, quickly realizing how much power Sumeragi had obtained while he was enjoying his youth.

Eventually at age 17 Itachi left the village to roam the world in search of his own happiness. During his travels he encountered some sumeragi agents and was forced to experience their influence firsthand. A week passed before he would be seen again, but he continued roaming as if nothing had happened.

Biography: Lilith was born to an American Demonologist and a Cherokee woman. She was born albino but without hemophilia, a common blood condition that afflicts albinos. Because of this her father decided she must have a demon possessing her at birth and named her Lilith after the first supposed Succubus. Lilith grew up following the Cherokee ways since her father had left her poor mother to care for their only child. But as with most other Non-Adepts, when Lilith's powers began to manifest at twelve years old, her mother began to fear her and often convinced her not to use them, until her mother died and she ran away, where she had been fending for herself until finding an abandoned cabin in the woods near the Sumeragi organization. Lilith understood her mother's fear of the Adepts but she also preferred living alone, not wanting to hurt anyone or get emotionally attached.

Biography: Itou Tenma was a young Japanese boy, at a young age he was a studious child, and possessing a sharp and quick mind. He studied martial arts as well as academic pursuits as a good child of a comfortable family should, however when he awoke to his Adept powers, his father immediately disowned him, while his mother wept, and he soon found himself alone with few friends, as many of his friends had done very much the same.

Having to drop out of Middle School due to this circumstance he wandered homeless for a year, travelling to the far south of Japan during this time, and soon he ran into others of his kind. They came together as a community and he finally got back into being able to study, but he was changed from his studious self, seeing no more point to be the good student he was, getting into many fights, and more feverishly pursuing his martial arts, starting to learn Kenjutsu, which he took to incredibly quickly.

His skill as a fighter brought him to the attention of radical Adepts who offered him a place among them, he accepted, seeing this as a much better alternative to a normal life. From then on he has been from part of Japan to another for military espionage, and assassination. He quickly gained the title of "Gensai the Muramasa" due to his profound speed, capable of killing targets before their guards could even react, which is reminiscent of one of the Hitokiri of the Bakamatsu. It felt like a fitting title for a member of a rebellion.

He was eventually stationed to the parts higher up their command, and placed in one of the main precursors to QUILL, an extremist group known as ARCHON (Adept Resistance Corp of Hope, Order, and Nationalization).

As a person, Itou is highly cynical, his humor is dry, and he seems more mature than his age. Early in his career as an espionage agent for Adepts, he was driven much by his hatred for being robbed of his life, however he met his family again not long after, and is now driven by the desire to see a world for Adepts, at any cost. Whether or not it will be alongside humans, as he sees governments and large powers as their representative, is still up for debate.

Though out of combat his eyes are still blue, one mission forced him to use his Septima for much longer than he was used to, putting so much stress on his body that it discoloured his hair too.

Heaven's Pad [Shock 5] - A chargable slash that slashes the area immediately in front of Itou. Amount of slashes is increased based on charge time.

Retribution [Shock 5] - Itou will take a stance for a brief moment, having a variation of three. All have similar results, that being a rapid backstep into short lunging slash in a single motion accompanied by a burst similar to Heaven's Pad.

Phantom Twin [Shock 5] - This allows him to do an extra slash using his Septima. This basically allows him to fulfill the task of two people, letting him strike another enemy within sword's reach down while he cuts another with his own blade. It requires they be in front or to his flanks as the attack only reaches that area. This move also lets him extend combos in various ways. He can also simply make it mirror his attacks for heightened pressure.

God's Grasp [Sphere 10] - Create a solid instance of Slash all around in a static fashion, able to trap melee attacks in a razor-sharp barrier. This can be used as a general shield as well but is much more effective as a parry tool.

Judgement Cut [Sphere 10] - Seemingly distort a small area and cover it in slashes.

Bladewind [Beam 50] - Itou is able to throw out a bladed beam with a swing of his sword, and is able to do this consecutively too. He is also able to charge it for a larger and more powerful strike, while ones uncharged have speed comparable to bullets.

Shadow Cut [Self-Adjust, Prevasion, 75] - Itou upon being attacked can expend some EP to leave behind a mirage to absorb the strike in his place, essentially letting him use a substitution technique. This lets him easily mount a counter-attack to the unsuspecting attacker.

Blade of the Phantom God [Tool/Self Adjust 75+25] - This requires a weapon, or immediately gives him a [Simple Weapon Katana], allowing him to use this to create a second weapon to use in combat. If imbued to an existing weapon, this allows him to slice through near anything for a short few strikes, the duration is increased with a Septima-Enhanced weapon.

Biography: Hiroki had always dreamed of being a wizard from an Anime, and with his Adept powers, he is exuberant to find that he can emulate them. Eager to be good and do good and make the world a better place, Hiroki is a naive person, and it was only luck that he had ended up in an organization that mostly resisted the urge to exploit his powers. Of course, Hiroki is cognizant of his naievete, and tries to disguise it by looking composed and reserved and as adorable as possible, hiding the fact that he is shaken by the sights he sees as part of his organization, which, though genuinely kind and accomodating, has selected an area of operations that requires a lot of personal distaste towards 'bad guys' to be shelved.

Now, to continue to the biography proper.

Hiroki was not a genius, he was not a savant, but he read a lot of Anime and watched a lot of TV, and he dreamed of being one of the Wizards and Heroes he saw on screen and page. And so when others learned to hate and fear Adepts, Hiroki wanted to be one, a fact that caused his single father to sigh in exasperation. Nevertheless, he lived a normal life, until, on his thirteenth birthday, his powers did manifest, not in a traumatic way, but in a more low-key way; he was trying to fix a broken pencil. He eagerly called his father to his room to show off, only to find said father, when confronted with proof of his change, holding him in a close embrace, crying. And it was then that Hiroki found out this was not a game.

The very next night, someone would knock on Hiroki and his father's apartment door; a wounded man bleeding from what were evidently katana wounds. Against his father's wishes, Hiroki healed him instead of calling for an ambulance, thus allowing the wounded man, a 19-year old Adept who wore glasses, to thank them before explaining the reason he was wounded.

Apparently, the man was an Adept who was trying to form an organization called MALTA (Medically Adept Life Troop Association), whose goals were to heal the wounds made my Human-Adept conflict, namely by going into conflict zones and healing those injured in both sides, as well as reducing and mitigiating collateral damage as much as possible. And, no, he did not come to recruit Hiroki; encountering him was a complete coincidence; he was trying to escape a fight between ARCHON and the Japanese Government. Nevertheless, Hiroki was enthralled, and turned towards his father, his lips already forming a question. What he got was another close embrace and tears, before said father whirled on the man, who had introduced himself as 'The Wizard'.

"You came here, and, without intending to, gave my son an impossible dream. Well, I cannot stop him, but I will not leave him either. I want to join your organization as well, so that if my son dies under your watch, I can strangle you where you stand."

"Agreed," 'The Wizard' said, and so Hiroki joined his first illegal organization, and, in saving lives, found his calling. Not that it wasn't dangerous, though...

Description: In a word, disheveled. His clothes, while matching, are rumpled and worn in places. His hair is half-assedly pulled into an untidy ponytail, and he bears a scruffy half-grown beard on his angular face. It's a miracle his glasses aren't similarly askew, if only because he needs them to see. Underneath the shabby exterior, however, there is much more to find. His eyes are clear, bright, and calculating, piercing associates and prospective clients where they stand with his gaze. While slim and somewhat short of stature, his body is toned, lithe, and strong for someone of his size. It's clear that the slovenly appearance is at least partially a ruse to catch the unwary off-guard, but to what extent is uncertain.

Biography: Tadashi Moritomi hasn't been "normal" since as long as he can remember. Even as a child, there was something almost unnerving about his demeanor- quiet, solemn, piercingly observant. He preferred to stay inside and read and learn to going outside with other children. His parents watched his development with concern; though he seemed polite and well-adjusted enough, his seeming aversion to socializing with others threw up a number of red flags. Whatever the case, things only got worse when his Adept powers manifested.

While his parents did their best to support their child, even being an Adept, the rest of the world wasn't as forgiving of Tadashi's apparent sin. In school, he was bullied and ostracized by his peers. Other places, he was looked upon with scorn and fear whenever it was discovered that he was an Adept. Some- very few, but enough- threatened or even tried unsuccessfully to hurt or kill him, for no reason other than being who and what he was. In any case, Tadashi's life suffered upheaval after upheaval, as they were forced to move often to try and protect their son whenever the bullying would become too intense.

In this, Tadashi's introverted nature was more of a blessing than a curse- after all, he couldn't miss what he never really had in the first place. Finding that his spurning of his peers was justified by their treatment of him, Tadashi turned his attention inward, to his Septimal powers. In private, he began developing them, learning more about how to control them. He learned to sense and read the signals on the air, and then how to control them. He voraciously sought after knowledge, using his powers to effectively funnel information directly into his mind. His fellow students' ire meant less than nothing to Tadashi- he knew he was better than them in every way, and he was secure enough in that knowledge that he never needed to prove it.

As intelligent as he was, however, it would almost prove for naught- after graduating, Tadashi found his future seemingly closed off to him in all ways because of his Adept status. No one wanted to hire him, no college or university willing to grant him admission. He almost gave up hope... until Sumeragi caught wind of his abilities. They offered him a job working for their technical department, developing surveillance and power technology for them, which, having no other options available, he accepted. But perhaps hiring an individual with near-omniscience was not the most sound of ideas.

As Tadashi worked with Sumeragi, he kept the wider scope of his powers a closely held secret, trying to distance himself from the Sumeragi leash as much as possible. Each day, he secretly probed around the company's files, trying to gain the transparency that he knew the company would not provide. His natural distrust and paranoia ended up paying off, stumbling upon a secret so horrific, that even he was repulsed by it. Knowing what he knew, he could not, in good conscience, continue working for them. Cutting his losses, Tadashi broke away from Sumeragi, taking enough equipment with him to sustain himself.

Nowadays, Tadashi has used the "startup" he stole from his former employers to make a name for himself as the hacker and mercenary known as "the_C0rsair," taking only jobs that aligned closely enough to his newfound moral scruples. And with each successful mission and each paycheck, Tadashi is planning, plotting, scheming. Building weapons and tools for the sole purpose of fulfilling his newly found life goal: cutting Sumeragi down to size.

• Astral Legion [Remote Manipulation: Tool] (25)- A squadron of armed combat drones built and controlled by Tadashi's Septimal powers. They can be used for surveillance, defending choke points, direct combat, fire support, and more.
• Astral Mind [Remote Manipulation: Mass] (50)- Tadashi can sense, understand, and manipulate various electronic signals, allowing him to telepathically survey through camera feeds, internet signals, and the like. He can also access and hack into computers in this way. The effect is amplified on any target he's struck with Buidhe or Dearg's special bullets.
• Can't Stop The Signal [Remote Manipulation: Animal] (75)- By concentrating, Tadashi can override control over any non-sapient robot, drone, or similar entity, binding them to his control. Depending on encryption strength, this process can take time. This power's effectiveness increases when used on any target he's struck with Buidhe or Dearg's special bullets.
• High Capacity [Remote Manipulation: Group] (50)- Tadashi can control large groups of robotic subordinates at once, either those of his Astral Legion, or those he's taken control of using Can't Stop The Signal. His limits aren't well-defined, though it does depend on his EP reserves how many he can bring to bear at once, and for how long.
