Appearance:Mikoto stands circa 178 centimeters tall, with her platform boots giving her what she needs to 180. She is quite strong for her age, having been raised in the ways of old nobility that included combat training. She weighs about 63 kilos. Her most prominent faunus feature are the two swan wings on her back that have the span of about 200 cm.
Mikoto’s face is dominated by her piercing, bright red eyes. She has an eastern complexion, the slightly yellow skin tone contrasting with her anthracite hair that she usually keeps at shoulder length and well kempt. Her body build is focused more on strength rather than stamina, packing up quite some muscle mass and low fat percentage.
Her battledress consists of a pair of knee high, gray platform boots, black pants and blouse and a gray armored jacket. Coming from rich background, her battledress is trimmed in dark red and gold. She wears red padded gloves to battle. The jacket is modified to allow her wings to unfold and they can be held concealed by a special harness. The jacket comes equipped with magnetic holsters on the lower back for her weapons and several pockets.
When in need of more formal wear, she likes a
red trench coat with matching high heels. She modified it to be able to conceal her wings and weapons underneath without looking out of place. When it is absolutely necessary for her to wear a dress, she goes with white color and exposed back to complement and fit her wings.
History:Mikoto was born into a family of former aristocrats, her family lineage directly tracing to one of Vale’s former kings. Her branch of the family adapted to the changing situation of the world and rather than ruling through politics, Mikoto’s forefathers invested in industry and wealth as a source of influence. And when there is a war going on, there is only really a few branches that yield profit. Fortunately, Mikoto’s grandfather was a kinder soul and rather than investing into munitions production, he realized that the armies will still need to be fed. As such, Mikoto found herself as the only heir to one of Remnant’s largest food plants.
She has grown up unharmed by the terrors of war, safe in her family castle on the outskirts of Vale. From an early age she fell in love with the old ways of the knights and the literary and mythological heroes from the era of the monarchies from before the Great War.
Her parents gave her free reign over the direction of her life, but in turn expected her to be one of the best in whatever she set to do. Mikoto quickly fell in love with martial arts, a skill her father approved of given the unfavorable situation the faunus were in, despite the fact that the former aristocracy was above differentiating by race.
Personality:Having lived a somewhat sheltered life spent interacting mostly with servants, her own family and the occasional visiting members of similar standing in society, Mikoto doesn't actively seek out conversation but she will not shy away from one. The girl is patient and overlooking many things addressed to her faunus side, but she has her limits.
Whereas normally she is well mannered and will go out of her way not to offend people no matter what she may think of them, if pushed too hard, she is dominated by her emotions, not her reason. While her anger is cold and calculated, you do not wish to enrage her, as if you push her that far, she will lose all sense and just go berserk on you.
She hates those unlawful with a fiery passion, although people who would dismiss her based on her race rather than her abilities and close to the top of her list as well. Despite that, she is trying to be forgiving, believing the only way to achieve some degree of peace in the world is to stop craving revenge for this and that and just break the cycle.
She can seem narcissistic and arrogant at times, treating others more like peasants than equals, although she is quick to correct herself when she sees someone worth her recognition, no matter their social status. She is still inspired by the heroic stories she grown up with, striving to be like the heroes of the myths. It can somehow make her seem like she was born to the wrong century.
In her downtime, she likes to power down and relax, whether that means spending an entire day in a spa, stuffing herself with muffins and coffee or reading tales of ancient knights and kings with a glass of whiskey on hand. If others have to be involved, she wouldn’t say no to a good movie or a dance.
Being an avian faunus comes with it’s own list of hatreds, like water (which make her wings heavy and useless) or cold (which she feels more due to her higher body temperature). For some reason, the taste of potatoes makes her want to hurl, much like the cheesy romance movies. She gets violent on trolls and hates criminals above all else for taking advantage of others in such hard times, putting them in the same bag as the creatures of grimm.
Skills:Mikoto was taught self defense and took liking to combat. Trained in a universal style, she can make use of nearly every weapon, although she prefers light, more nimble instruments like her sword or a dagger. Her technique focuses on precise, quick and powerful attacks while conserving energy in the meantime. Her style is rather aggressive and unpredictable, which is reflected in her choice of weaponry that allows for quick and powerful attacks and easy switching between melee and ranged forms.
While her weapons might give the impression that Mikoto is a swordswoman, she is in fact a capable dust caster. While she only specializes in fire based spells, her brand of casting learned by studying ancient tomes and scrolls in her father’s library make her rather unpredictable. While she usually resorts to few moves that she practiced enough to cast with a mere thought, she can draw runic circles that allow her to cast fire in nigh any form.
Life in the high class however lead to some duties. As an only child in a family owning a sizeable business, she learned to organize and manage finances as well as people. She is reasonably capable of making good tactical and strategic decisions, albeit in her age she lacks experience in leading.
Powers:Her faunus heritage gives Mikoto several capabilities she can use for great effect. First and foremost, she can use her wings to heighten and extend her jumps to about twice that of a human, or to glide and soften her fall. They are, however, too small for her to fly. The lack of tail used to be a problem, but she smartly modified her battledress with a half-cape that is attachable to her boots that can substitute well enough.
Her bones are less dense than that of a usual human, contributing to her overall low weight, which unfortunately break more easily if her aura is brought down. Her metabolism is faster, making the girl quite a glutton and yet unable to gain any weight and moving her average body temperature to about 40°C.
Having both large reserve and skill to wield it efficiently, Mikoto’s aura is on the more impressive side of the scale. Its color is white, and it manifests as quills falling around her.
Semblance - Stability - Mikoto’s semblance allows her to do several things. Above all else, it makes her athletic abilities very impressive. She is able to perform flips, leaps and dodges to the peak of natural human/faunus abilities. It also seems impossible to knock her down as she can recover from almost any fall and turn it into a move. This also improves her accuracy, especially with melee weapons.
Equipment:Dust enhanced flamberge -
Emperor: A flamberge sword with fire dust infused into the blade, giving it its defining color. The blade is slimmer than usual as Mikoto prefers thrusting attacks to slashes. Because of its enchant, it is made out of heat resistant material that is lighter than steel, allowing for greater tip control but decreasing the force behind cuts.
Dust enhanced dagger -
Regalia: A dagger with infused blade. Unlike the Emperor, Regalia’s blade is infused with dust that fuels its special enchant, allowing Mikoto to create and throw fiery spectral copies of the weapon. The weapon itself is useless in melee, being made more as an ornamental accessory than a useful blade.
