"I hate spiders, I hate spiders..." Aimée repeated to herself as she ran away from them. She could hear the noise of their paws walking behind them. It was almost too much to count, and that didn't help one bit to calm Aimée down.
She was grateful for Sonya, even if that ice wall didn't hold the spiders for too long, every meter separating those things from her counted right now.
Things appeared to be lost when they ran into a large wooden door. The large metal lock reflected the dim light in the cave, almost mocking them as Odessa tried to pick it without much success.
"T-they are coming!" Aimée said, as she heard the horrible noise echoing through the cave.
But suddenly, a louder noise caught her attention. It was the pleasant noise of wood cracking and metal hitting metal. Silas had succeeded in breaking the iron lock, opening the door.
"
How Improper is the War-hammer now?" Silas said, letting the others get inside.
Aimée didn't waste any time and immediately jumped inside. After everyone got inside, the first thing to do was to barricade the door, after all, they couldn't just leave someone there, holding the door forever. Luckily, there was a heavy bookshelf close. With a bit of effort, they were able to use it to barricade the door. They could still hear the sound of the spiders hitting the door, but it was sturdy enough to not break, and they were not strong enough to push the bookshelf. They were safe, for now.
After the things calmed down a little, she finally took a good look around, and was able to see the room where they entered. It was old, very, very old. A thick layer of dust covered almost everything inside. It was quite obvious that no one had touched that room for a long time. Surprisingly enough, it was full of valuable things. Old, but still valuable nonetheless. Very old books, weapons and etc. Aimée was very interested about those books. She would enjoy taking a look at them. Who knows? Maybe they had ancient stories, tales and legends forgotten by the time? But before that, she needed to thank someone first.
"Silas, I could give you a kiss right now!! I need to compliment you, your hammer really did the job!" Aimée said, jumping on him, hugging the man, almost making him drop the book he was holding. She was genuinely happy and much more relaxed after getting away from the spiders. It was clear that Aimée didn't liked bugs that much...
"What is that book you're reading? Anything interesting?" she asked, jumping and peeking over his shoulder to take a better look at the book he was holding. But before he could answer, a very loud noise echoed through the walls, almost like a lightning strike. Strangely enough, it seemed to come from one of the rooms nearby.
“There.” Jehan said, pointing to where the noise had come from.
"No... I don't think that it was the orcs... It sounded almost like a lightning strike... Maybe it has to do with the book you are holding Silas?" Aimée asked, taking a better look at the book in question.
A strange symbol of a half moon adorned its cape, it almost looked like a grimoire or a magic book of some sorts. She didn't know why, but something on that symbol sparked her interest.
"Can I see it, Silas? I don't know why, but something tells me that this is a very important book..." Aimée said, suddenly getting serious as she approached the book, looking at it.
"Call it female intuition!" she said again, winking playfully to Silas before taking it from his hands and opening it.
