?

Why? Offense is always taken, never given. That's not an excuse to be an asshole, but in any other circumstance I think the joke would've been funny.

The offense here isn't a joke about disabled people, it was the intent to hurt someone with it instead of for it to be funny.

And I take offense if people are mocking the disabled. It is not cool even if it is another context.

Again I don't know what was actually said so I'm just talking about a general principle rather than a specific comment.

Making a joke out of a disability is mean, regardless of whether you intend it that way.

See, now you're treating your view on the morality of a joke as an absolute truth/fact. Which is dumb.

Joking about disabilities can be funny.

Why is that, exactly?

Sooo back to politics, looks like I was a little wrong in my earlier assessment as finally even the left-leaning news sites and publications are finally starting to turn their backs on the Antifa crowd. Yes, antifa is the moral equivalent of neo-Nazis, lol that title cracked me up. I feel like this seeming turn around is too little too late at this point but maybe it's at least a start.

So what do you think about this seemingly turning on Antifa by the leftist media? Are they actually finally getting concerned about people trying to silence all opposition through violence? They just trying to save their already crispy bacon? Thoughts?

My personal opinion @IceHeart, is that they are only starting to turn on the Alt-Left, namely Antifa, because they are suffering damage or loss at their hands. It is becoming personal for them whereas before they were mostly left alone during the riots and protests; now, an emboldened Antifa is attacking anyone they suspect of guilt like a modern day mob. Perhaps the best comparison I have heard about this is how similar the echoes of mass hysteria are with those of the witch hunts.

Reporters and journalists are now just as much fair game as anyone else in the chaos. Why, one might ask? My theory is that Antifa by and large has no idea who is friend or foe. They do not exactly have any real training and are at best a moderately organized mob that is only now readily advancing in influence, number and coordination.

I sincerely doubt they are trying to turn over a new leaf for anything but their own gain and protection, hoping the foolish and uninformed continue to follow their Pied Piper call.

I was confused on... why question someone who is just uncomfortable with people making fun of the disabled, so I didn't know if Odin was going to have an overarching point on morality.

Also, to get back into politics as well... apparently North Korea's missile over Japan was the beginning of a Pacific Operation.

It's interesting to me that Paul Ryan and the leftist media seemed to reach this conclusion simultaneously. Gosh, I wonder what side he's on.

Okay. Antifa are the guys who wear black and show up to protests (or just whatever I guess) and start beating the shit out of people. You can find more in a google search than in a summary post though. Look 'em up. MO is beating random people with clubs, throwing piss and shit and broken glass at cops, and lighting things on fire.

Implying I need to put 'in my opinion' in front of every statement is a rhetorical device deployed to dilute an argument.

Eh, no, I said that because you've said 2 (or 3?) times now that it's wrong, but I can't find any reason in _why_ you are saying that. Leads me to believe you really believe it to be the truth and that there are no other people who can feel otherwise.

How would you feel if a disabled person makes jokes at the expense of their own disabilities and other disabilities? It could be relatable for disabled people, hell it could give them an outlet that they can't usually hear or talk about (talking about disabilities is taboo, at least where I live, in the pretty liberal country of the Netherlands) because people without disabilities don't understand it.

There's so much positivity that _could_ be gained from joking about disabilities but all it seems you're hung up on is 'huh it's bad'.
