A sheet would be nice! That is an awesome thing you made there though, @SillyGoy. Though doesn't it say 1x starship of no greater than capital-type MAX per player? Or am i missing something?

Thanks for the compliment! I only have 1 capital ship though, and that is Mount Narodna. The four heavy cruisers powerful but they are not capital ships. They do roles like scouting (in the absence of dedicated light scout cruisers), vanguard duty supporting Battlecruisers, and backing up the ever important Battle Squadrons when the flirty skirmishing is over and the real battle begins. They are capable of independent operations and important ships in their own right, but they will always be secondary to the heavier and more important Battlecruiser, Battleship, and Fleet Carrier type starship.

I feel silly now, haha! I thought we were only allowed to have 1x starship per player that doesn't supersede capital-type. Thank you!

I'll try conjure up something later today. If it's alright with you I'll follow your sheet. I really liked it! Very structured and nice use of italics/bold etc.

After rereading some things, I too have become confused regarding exactly what assets we are allowed to field. Let's wait for the GM to clear things up.

@SillyGoy That looks epic! I like that. Will have to remember that for another thread idea I have in mind. Pick one of those ships, and use that for this one though.

To clarify: ONE starship, and all its assets, like fighters, bombers, mecha, boarding pods, torpedoes, etc etc. per player. In my head, a capital ship is either a battlecruiser, battleship, dreadnought or assault carrier. Anything larger would be a titan-type ship, while anything smaller would be a cruiser. Players don't have to fly a capital ship - stealth vessels are small, like a frigate or corvette and capable of atmospheric entry - but I figure a capital ship has more capability and endurance than a cruiser would.

@stardust Random outsider jackass opinion time:

I think you should at least have an actual CS guide/skeleton/structure in place for ship/force submission since I can tell that there is a good deal of confusion as to what is going on. Whats been of this RP thus far seems to have been a disorganized mess that's just been bumbling along since you as the GM have a different approach than what the players seem to be having but aren't communicating with the players as to what exactly you want from them.

Also, making a overview post as the first post in the OOC is generally a good idea; you copied and pasted the interest check into the IC and it does give off a certain... vibe and none too positive of one too. I highly suggest that you first do some RPs as a player on site first to get to know the feel of how things are usually done and then tried to GM.

Ah, so instead of a fleet battle, it's a small subjugation of some backwater pirates. Like a colonial skirmish. Alright, thank you for clarifying. So us players represent the interests of our respective organizations and are given a smallish party (one ship) to protect those interests on Planet Central? That's cool, too. I'll modify my sheet later.

Again, I recommend actually being in an RP first to see how things are done instead of jumping head first into GMing since you don't tend to learn much otherwise. Also, smartassery?

I'm sorry but I do want to step in and comment on what I've seen, a bit of constructive criticism.

Currently I don't know what this roleplay is about and that's due to the way that you've presented the information @stardust. The OOC post at the start should contain a description of who, what, where, when and why. It is the first thing that people see and it is what draws their attention. Having another member like @SillyGoy make the first post confuses your audience. Are they a co-gm? Did they accidentally snipe your first post?

I can also say that this does not feel like an advanced roleplay. Advanced roleplays are typically over detailed with in depth character sheets, deep plot, and longer posts. I would be more inclined to run this in casual if you don't have these details fleshed out enough as casual is more catered towards faster flowing and shorter narratives.

If you want to see what an advanced roleplay should typically look like, check out some of the others around to gauge your presentation target.

I have updated my sheet to the GM's intended specifications. The Sicarian Federation sends the lone SFS Alba to protect its interests on planet Central in conjunction with allied military assets.

@NuttsnBolts If you look at my first post in IC, it's there. I did not realize there were multiple tabs in each thread... this is a bit different from other forums I've been on. Sue me. You might even get a whole quarter! Seriously though, I appreciate the feedback.

It's science fiction. Does it matter? Short version is they are based on Ancient weapons, and use compressed or "folded" space, harness the zero-point quantum field that exists all around us, dark matter-fired laser-like weapons, gravity, and so on. Or would you like a rundown on each one as near as my mind has come up with?

Not to put too fine a point on it, but why are you so adamant about this, catchamber? My understanding here is this is an OOC talk thread for something I am trying to get off the ground, not someplace to go over the technical minutiae of imagined technologies. We should all be at least familiar in a general sense how RP forums work - I've been on six or eight different ones over the last couple decades, including one I started and administered from scratch. My experience has been that if someone is unsure of how something works or wants to clarify something, they can PM the original poster or a moderator for more info. And it's never been about nitty gritty details that serve to flesh out the detail but are not major plot devices in and of themselves.

Apologies if that came off as harsh, I'm not well and under a great deal of stress. Trying to have a little fun here, cuz that's what we're all here for, right?
