The year is 2012 and the next holy grail war is set to begin with the last ending in a flat out no-contest with the death of one of the magi ending in two friends left forcing them to call it a draw as neither side wanted to end the other. Or at the very least that is what the church overseer had claimed. The last war was held in Fuyuki city, and now it seems to be held there once more due to the failure of the previous masters whom saw the war fail to find a proper conclusion leading to the aforementioned draw. However the pent up magic from the previous war seems to have caused unfortunate consequences in this war as well according to the church. As the masters begin to gather and summon their servants it would seem that there is a specific clause for this particular war. An enforcement made by the guardians of the grail itself in order to make sure a winner is definitely declared in this war. The grail's magic in the last war seems to have somehow been used to reawaken old bloodlines of magisters and has caused an influx of a new group of potential candidates whom all seem to wish to take on the chance to win this new power despite some being slow to learn, others have quickly mastered their powers. How many masters, and magus whom have been reawakened by this new power is unknown. However some mages have taken up the challenge of finding out why this has happened, and how to little success.

The war is just beginning and the stipulation has been sent out by the neutral priest whom is acting as the overseer, the individual in charge of the war. The groups shall break up into teams of seven people or less. The winners of the war shall all receive one minor wish granted to them personally due to the nature of the war the grail's magic may end up needing to be shared among the winning party. Though how they are to team up is up to them there will need to be two sides of the war anyone who refuses to side with a party is allowed to continue fighting in the war however they will be outnumbered, and possibly eliminated quickly. To this end the neutral party led by the Overseer has inclined to offer a meet up at his large home for those who wish to become a part of a side without having to seek out other masters by themselves. This war is setting up to become a mess as rules have been changed and old rivalries have been resurrected from long past eras. What shall come of the war is up to the masters and the servants who fight for them.

====

Hello everyone assuming you're still interested after hearing the plot basis I have some stuff I'd like to inform you all about. Yes fourteen magi will be participating in this war. In order to incorporate a actual roleplaying basis for this I will be putting all player characters on one singular team. The win conditions for the war have been altered slightly from usual wars in that you must eliminate, or force a surrender from the opposing team. There is no set hierarchy so it may be necessary to force each individual master to surrender to the other faction. Y

You may play as a servant, or a hero/master. I encourage you to make two separate characters so you can play both. For masters I will be willing to shorten requirements on servants if you wish to make them an add-on to your main master sheet. You may also play as a servant alone but you will need a player character master to attach yourself to. In the case of drop outs ex-masters will be allowed to re-summon servants, and already made servants can attach themselves to an existing master, or make one for their own.

Of course this being a fates roleplay PVP combat is allowed however there is a big restriction on it: Both players on either end must agree to do so. Battles like them will be done in either a collab, or done in an arena battle. This is to prevent random player killings from say Assassin.

A note is I'm going to do my best to balance out certain aspects of characters as to prevent any power playing from happening. Some people will excel at certain areas and others won't. Therefore it's how you use your abilities not the quality, or quantity of them that will end up with a victorious winner. To make sure there is no confusion I may need to nerf down some canon servants and prevent custom ones from being too strong. Some of them have the ability to auto-kill or hit enemies and in a roleplaying setting that is very much unacceptable as it makes games hard to balance. You may not make a character who did not exist in history with some sort of record or legend telling of them. Indian Mythology is especially bizarre power wise so I recommend not choosing them. Likewise some Japanese myth characters may be unavailable depending on their stats due to the fame boost of being in Japan. Japan gives them a stat boost, and possibly an extra noble phantasm depending on the location.

An example of the above would be say Siegfried as Saber. He has armor the prevents him from taking damage from B-Rank weapons, and abilities or below. An argument can be made for not nerfing them however I am reserving the rights to do so if I view it necessary. Remember even the lowest ranking servants can lift up cars. Power levels are everything in fates. That would be far to strong and I'd bring it down to C rank to at least make him more vulnerable and less prone to not being harmed by more or less everything.

With that being said I'm reserving the spot of Saber unless someone has a great idea for a saber class. I'm willing to relinquish saber only to a player who is definitely going to be playing to the end of the roleplay as it is a vital class being either a heavy damage dealer, or a big tank. They can easily be overplayed if not careful.

Also I would recommend picking a more combat based assassin. Spying on people is all well and good but it's hard to regulate in a roleplay like this.

Here's a list of roles currently claimed:
typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Servant
Saber: Reserved by Gm
Archer:
Lancer: taken
Rider:
Caster:
Assassin: Taken
Beserker: reserved

If only I saw this sooner. I'm already involved in a Fate RP myself, so unfortunately I don't think I'd have time to join this one. Through, if I could offer anything as advice, perhaps you could glance over the Grand Order wikia? I'm sure it has something that you could add to your RP.

@AquantheI already have, and I intend to use characters custom, and from all over the nasuverse for this roleplay. If I take Saber I've got plethora of characters ready for the role likely going to be Lancelot, or Mordred though.

@vancexentan Lancelot was the Saber in my ongoing RP. You could call him "Badluckalot" because their master wasn't lucky in any of their confrontations. If you choose him, I wish that you have better luck with him!

@AquantheLancelot Saber for my master ends up being a stoic character who only fights when he needs to in order to prevent leakage of his identity he isn't unlucky in this roleplay though that is a rather funny coincidence. However likely it will be Mordred as she is already got a lot of content I can recycle that I have used for other roleplays. I intend to leave it up to player choice who gets to become Saber. I may not even get Saber if someone offers up a better idea.

@vancexentan I know that Jack is good as an assassin, although her noble phantasms are garbage unless you fulfill their requirements. At least one of her noble phantasms fulfills one of her requirements if you use it, but it also has many other uses. I haven't seen anyone play Mordred yet, so I might just keep this thread in my subscribed topics to see what comes out of it.

@AquantheJack is one character i use to have in this roleplay they were considerably harder to nerf then expected and due to story reasons they make it even harder to play them. As such jack is one of the characters I'm disallowing without nerfing or using another take on her. For example they can auto erase all memories of them that makes it hard to roleplay with them. However you're free to keep this in mind.

As of the moment @Ambra is the only one who is maybe interested and I don't take maybes unless confirmed as they can be unreliable and lead to roleplays starting off poorly.

@vancexentan Her information erasing skill is powerful, but it has a big weakness. Think of it like crime scene investigations. They don't know who did it, but they can piece together evidence to find out who did. You may forget, but the erased knowledge doesn't stop you from learning if Jack leaves behind evidence.

In any case, I'll keep to the sidelines from here on out, through I'll glance the thread every once in awhile. Fate is one of my favorite interests, and I'd like to see who wins the Grail War. Ciao for now!

I heard someone talking about my little devil and as such I get called across space and time.

(Back again Vance. Sorry about my absense that left to the previous ones downfall)

If possible to deviate from my previous prongs as an assassin. May I reserve the Berserker class?

@1Charak2You may reserve the berserker class if you desire though I feel obligated to remind you that Berserker will be hard to play in this roleplay so keep in mind to who you pick for the class and what you want out of a master. Berserkers have a history of a lot of them losing their minds so a lower ranked madness enhancement may be necessary.

@Cu ChulainnAlright well I can't really count anyone unless they're officially going to join or not. Like I said for that Arumba dude I can't just take maybes without them being liable to screwing with the start of the rp.

My schedule's starting to get less busy, it seems, but we'll see in the next couple of days. Either way, I actually do have two servants in mind, with one not canon, and the other sort of partially canon.

The first is Hattori Hanzo, who's probably the most famous ninja in history. He was also a samurai, so he fits the bill for a combat-oriented assassin.

The second is Bellerophon, who would be a Rider. He's the "sorta partially canon" servant I was referring to, as there's a Noble Phantasm named after him. I'd expect he'd use the same Noble Phantasm, with it possibly being stronger than when used by Medusa.

Hanzo is a bit weird his main weapon is more fit to be in the lancer class than an assassin like he was depicted in say samurai warriors however I'll hear you out on what you have to said regarding him

I'm not really sure about Belle he sounds like he'd be pretty strong given Medusa isn't some second class rider in fact she's pretty strong.

In Hanzo's case, it's best to remember that he's most famous for his exploits as a ninja, who were the covert agents of Feudal Japan, whose functions included espionage, sabotage, and assassination. Ninjas are quite known for their stealthy nature in most forms of popular culture, and with Hanzo being arguably the most popular of real life ninjas, that would make Assassin a fitting mold for his class.

Hanzo's choice of weapons is mostly negligible, and if you are referring to the Kusarigama, while it does fulfill the "long-ranged weaponry" requirement for Lancers to have, it's still, in essence, an Assassin's weapon. It is a weapon with both quick kills and sabotaging the opponent in mind. One vital part of the weapon is the kama, which was used by ninjas since it was easy to carry around harmlessly, being a farming implement as well as a weapon.

*

As far as Bellerophon goes, I'm sure his parameters would be, to an extent, weaker than Medusa's, especially due to the end of his legend where he was thrown off Pegasus for trying to ascend to Mount Olympus. His myth revolves, however, upon using Pegasus to achieve feats of greatness, the greatest of which would be slaying the Chimera. It is actually stated that if he didn't have Pegasus, Bellerophon wouldn't have been able to slay the Chimera in the first place.

As far as his power would go, he'd have reasonably lower parameters in certain areas, and lower skills as well. He'd also probably only have one or two Noble Phantasms at his disposal, one of which being Bellerophon (the bridle.). I'd expect that he'd have an A++, or even an EX to using it. That way, he'd probably have to rely mostly on the Pegasus when against strong servants.

@Cu ChulainnAnother thing to keep in mind regarding Hanzo is the fact that he is in Japan which gives him some boosts. He may not be in Edo but it'd be a pretty glaring oversight to overlook this fact. If you want to talk it over more regarding what his stats, skills, and phantasm would be I'll be willing to give you a chance to explain it/write it out.

I'll also hear you out on Belle as he'd be trading off Medusa's ability to debuff for having a stronger mount more or less. The devil is in the details after all.

I intend to allow players to have the choice of picking out a strong hero as long as they don't have the ability to just shut down whoever they choose without fault. The worse thing I can do is allow a character in who trivializes the enemy servants who I also intend to bring down to a reasonable level of power to make them challenging but still able to be overcome. Which is why I'm partially choosing the sabers I have in mind because they're powerful but they're practically all locked down to a close range attack and then an all or nothing power blow.

@vancexentan I'll hold on choosing a class until someone chooses either one first, so if anyone else is interested in either Rider or Assassin, they can go ahead and take it. After I solidify my choice, however, I'll discuss with you the abilities I have in mind.

Go ahead and paint me officially interested. My schedule is indeed starting to clear up.

Alright I appreciate it. It's a shame that Turboshitter, and a few of the other roleplayers from last time haven't come back to reprise their roles but Turbo kind of just stopped talking to me for one reason, or another and Shadow (another notable player) has more or less backed off from roleplaying for the time being so I'm stuck with whoever I can get with this.

Optimally people will be playing both master, and servant to their own characters but if they want to play a singular character that's fine too however we'd need more people and I'm running all the NPC's plus Saber, and his/her master so I can't double up.

At base minimum I'd need at least four people including myself. Enough to fill out all the roles except for a few that I could chalk up to NPC's if need be in order to start the rp. I would heavily like more but I haven't had much luck so far on here.
