[OOC] Dragon Quest: Chronicle of the virtuous vagrants

The Kingdom of Vista is a grand kingdom. Though it is more of a country thanks to the large amount of land that it has under it's control. Vista is a profitable kingdom mostly profiting off of it's agriculture. Vista is also the home to many adventurers that serve the kingdom often as contractors thanks to the questing boards placed throughout the kingdom.

Recently however the kingdom has started to see more and more problems, thus the need to gather adventurers has arisen more than usual. Due to the recent rise in monster attacks there are limited adventurers available to take on other tasks. There have been reports of curses appearing in each of the towns within Vista, thus a need to for it to be investigated.

You are a new adventurer who is just starting out. Many of the stronger adventurers are out taking care of the monsters leaving you to handle the investigations on your own. Will you take up the kings request to investigate the towns and discover what is wrong?

This is a Dragon Quest themed RP. As such you will be seeing alot of dragon quest monsters, themes, and the characters will be based on the same Vocation, all characters will be starting as one of the basic vocations for now.

If your so new to Rping I'm gonna have to ask you to find something else as this is a casual rp, starting out with a free rp would be a much better idea as I think you would be more comfortable with that kind of thing due it being fare more layed back

You know, I played a lot of the Dragon Quest games back in high school, but they kinda fell off my radar after college and I became a boring adult got busy.

I got room for another RP, I'll see if I can't come up with anything since this looks like it could be neat~

I'm thinking a mage character that could eventually become an Armamentalist.

Welp, I made one faster than I thought, so here ya go. It's been awhile since I played anything Dragon Quest related, so do tell if I mess something up anywhere~

Probably gonna go Paladin later.

Phoebe

Standing at a fairly tall 5'9, the somewhat cold confidence she carries herself with would make others initially likely a bit put off with her. Typically, Phoebe doesn't care one bit. The priest usually wears her hair cut short, with blue eyes that seem to study things passively and always seem to give a somewhat judgemental and bored feeling. Usually, she wears a simple blue outfit along with a simple hood and shoulder coat to keep water and other things off of ones body.

A simple, well made spear given to her by the church. She doesn't have much skill with using it, but intends to train until it's not an issue.

Background:
To put simply, Phoebe was raised in the church in the capital of Vista by the Head Priest. She never really knew her actual parents, since she was given to the church at a young age. She was told that they were poor, and couldn't raise a child so instead of struggling to do so, they gave her to the church in hopes she could find a somewhat better life. She didn't really let it bother her that much, at least she never tried to. She did have a relatively good life after all, likely better than most other people.

Most of her youth was spent in study, as well as the art of healing and the basics of using a spear to defend herself, should the need arise. She was never particularly good at socializing, and somewhere along the line this lack of interacting with others of her age colored her personality somewhat. She tends to come off as incredibly arrogant, as well as a bit on the holier-than-thou side. She tries to reign it in, especially when she has to work with others, but it isn't easy at times.

While she has been in combat a minimal number of times during training, she doesn't particularly seem very put off by the thought of it, and perhaps might be a little too...eager, at times to put a foe in their place.

As a priest, it is her duty to help those she can, and she is highly interested in the rumors of curses within the cities. As such, she has decided to become an adventurer to investigate as well as strengthen her abilities.

So I just kind of hammered this one out quickly I guess. ^^; She's supposed to come off as one of those naive noble girls who don't really understand the lower classes despite trying to fit in with them, I guess. Anyways, hope this is okay.

Paella

• Name: Paella Juvelo
• Age: 18
• Gender: Female
• Vocation: Mage
• Weapon: A wand, which is usually stuck in her hairbun when not in use. The only spells she can cast right now are Frizz and Acceleratle.
• Background: The daughter of a noble family of Vista, Paella has always been considered as one of the elite. Growing up she had her every whim and want attended to, and was gifted with the finest education that money could buy, as well as tuition in the magical arts. However, she always felt a bit... Hollow, lonely even, her upbringing keeping her seperated from others. Gazing out her window every day, she'd see the commoner children playing happily together, and would've given anything... Well, not quite anything but the fact remained that she really wished she could spend time with others.
  
  As news spread of the growing monster attacks, she realized that she suddenly had her chance. After all, she had been taught magic, so surely she would be of help to any adventuring party, right? Without even discussing it with her parents, she snuck out one day to heed the king's request... Even if she didn't have much experience with the world outside her family's estate. But hey, what's the worst that could happen?

Description: He's not particularly tall nor is he is super muscular rather being of average height and of an athletic build. His skin is a toasty brownish and is maintained that way by being outdoors constantly. He wears a bandana folded into a headband over his reddish colored hair. He ears grey-blue trench coat that has it's sleeves missing over a burgandy shirt and brown pants and boots.

Background: Rez came from a podunk village called Hayweedton. It's a primarily a farming village with it's claim to fame being a pickle eating contest. Rez, not being one for hard and humble work, lusted for a life of excitement and getting the hell out of the place. He turned his attention to becoming a guard against monsters and then tried to become a "monster hunter" of sorts who would venture to locations in need of having less monsters around. Eventually he would find someone with the time of day for him who'd teach him to fight and he'd settle on fighting with two swords. His reason for using such a style? Because if you can't look stylish while fighting what's the point?

Bad Dude W/ Attitude

Name: Edgar Natas

Vocation: Martial Artist
Weapon: Bancho Martial Arts + Leather Gloves w/ metal plates in them.
Background: Edgar grew up in a port town. He was raised by his father. According to his dad, his mother was a pirate, and just left him at his bar one day before sailing off, never to be seen again. From a young age, Edgar was trained in combat. His father used him as muscle in his bar, throwing out unruly patrons and general people who caused trouble. Edgar thus is very good at fighting. This means he's not the most educated: He's not stupid, and he can read and do math, but he's not exactly up on things like geography or history. So he wasn't particularly suited for any job outside of being a bouncer at his dad's bar. But he wants more out of life. So Edgar became an adventurer. His dream is to learn the Iron Fist Martial Art Style, which allows users to harden their fists enough that they can punch through rocks.

He'd also like to meet his mom one day, but he doesn't even know if she's alive.
