Rebecca raised an eyebrow at Jaiden as he hissed a harsh warning before fleeing the scene. Rebecca mentally chided him for lacking discipline, but thankfully she had the wisdom to not say anything out loud. She wasn't a trainer here. There was no chain of command. There was no penalty for assault. Rebecca was alone. The thought was scary, but Rebecca knew that now wasn't the time to deal with it. Grief was for later, safety was a priority. Rebecca almost laughed at her military mind kicking into gear once again. Thankfully she hadn't lost it along with her body. Pushing the thoughts aside, Rebecca walked into the lodge a bit more. She heard talking coming from the upper floor, and thus figured that there would be more people there. Hopefully they would be a bit more helpful than Jaiden and a bit less on edge.

Rebecca began to walk up the stairs, her heels clicking as she went. The sound made Rebecca blush for a bit, but she suppressed it by calling. "Hello? Anyone else home?" Just before she reached the top of the stairs. Rebecca saw Shen first, then Samuel. Disappointment radiated from Rebecca's eyes in silent judgement as she noted that Samuel was in nothing more than boxer shorts. Though the fire generated at his hand and his seeming lack of pain from it was concerning. Shen seemed to be a bit more reliable since he was dressed, and so Rebecca addressed him first while leveling a non-hostile finger at him. "You there, tall man with the Tai Chi greeting, what is going on here? Someone just fled after warning me to stay away due to some sort of... Drone? Would you mind giving me the details?"

Dropping her hand some to fold her arms across her chest Rebecca unfortunately drew attention to the more prominent members of the area. Rebecca waited for a response. It would be hard to spot in the darkness, especially with her jacket on, but Rebecca's arms were tensed and ready to move if needed, her hands not far from the grips of her revolvers. Samuel having what appeared to be a ball of flame in his hand was worrisome, and Rebecca knew that fire could be extremely deadly when employed in combat. Rebecca's revolvers were her only defense at the time, and so she knew that if any kind of combat was initiated that she would need to be faster than them on the draw. That's why Rebecca had her arms folded the way she did. It was technically a combat stance with how her revolvers were holstered, but they likely didn't know that. This left Rebecca with a slight advantage, since they wouldn't know what lay in store should one or both of the men before her turn out to be hostile.

Rebecca also heard rummaging in another room, sounding like someone hastily packing things, but paid it no heed. There was no way to analyze the source of the sound, so Rebecca knew that she had to deal with the threat in front of her. Seconds seemed to be minutes as she waited for a reply. Hopefully, one came soon. Rebecca was in unfamiliar territory, and the man she addressed was unnaturally tall. The other man holding fire was of equal concern. These people were obviously not normal, and hopefully they proved to be non-hostile. If they didn't, Rebecca had limited options to secure her own safety.

To say she was nervous would have been an understatement, thankfully Rebecca had years of experience with situations like this. Hopefully she didn't have to use it.

Jing Shen

Shen hears the taping of shoe heels against the ground, he turns to look upon the newcomer. His eyes begin to adjust to the darkness. At the other side of the hall, barely illuminated by the light that originated from the fire conjurer’s hand, stood a curvaceous woman with hair of midnight, garbed in black leather which blended naturally into the shadows. Her face reflected a beautiful complexion, though her eyes shone a cold yet reflective stare. After a second of contemplating her appearance, she points limply at Shen and begins to speak. A mechanical drone huh? That would explain the scorched room and explosion. Her voice sounds somewhat confused but honest. She doesn’t even know where she is let alone has ulterior motives for being here, strange. Plus, if she wanted him or the fire man dead, she would have at least already attempted it. Regardless, Shen notice her arms are close to her abdomen, meaning she is likely preparing to strike should the situation call for it. He doesn’t want to start a fight in these tight, confined corridors. A more cautious approach should be applied here.

Shen slowly put his hands up, showing he is unarmed, then speaks softly and slowly. “To be honest we all seem to be lost in the dark at the moment. I heard an explosion, then came running to see if anybody was hurt. That's when I noticed him here (turns to face Samuel) perplexed and shocked but otherwise unharmed. Apparently a mechanical drone of some kind attacked these people here in the middle of the night and caught them with there pants down. A hooded man ran past me, warning me to get out while I still can. You probably met him on your way up here. As for who is in the other room, I have no idea, nor do I know how many others, residents or assailants, are in the house presently. I didn’t come here to harm anyone. I just came to learn.” Hopefully Shen can convince her regardless of her motives at the very least he is a man of reason and does not want to cause unnecessary harm.
