On two city walls, many miles apart, two recruitment posters have been put up.
One, the first, is printed on glossy paper, a black chess-piece, the of a king, into the bottom. It it set on a wall of rustic brick, similar in many ways to the defensive town walls of old Europe:
Do you love your faction?
Do you love your King?
Do you want to be a hero?
Now is the time to join the proud Erubesco Military.
Become a proud Knight, a stoic Acolyte, a studious Alchemist.
Fight for freedom and individuality!
In Liberty, there is no art. No culture. People live only to work and die.
We of Erubesco refuse to debase ourselves thus. We refuse to be held back by the petty notions of small minds.
Trust in Our King and crusade for what is right.
Our decisions may be difficult ones. Sacrifices may have to be made in the name of the cause, but within each Erubescian beats the heart of a hero, and we will never, ever surrender!
Join the Knights, Join the Fight!
The second is set up on a noticeboard on a clean, grey wall in a well-kept square.
It is in greyscale and formatted for complete clarity:
Notification of Draft
Notification that all Liberty Citizens of fighting age not assigned to exempt career positions are required to aid in the war effort. All Citizens of our glorious faction must stand together against the degenerate menace of Erubesco. This debauched and decadent monstrosity will soon collapse under the weight of its own greed, and the world will be a place of unity, equality, and uniformity. This is a dream we all share.
Trust in the wisdom of The Council to lead us to victory.
Reminder to all Liberty Citizens: The penalty for draft evasion is immediate detention to re-infer Liberty ideals. All department members must report for their assigned duties.
-Councillor Blue
Liberty Dept of Defense
Hundreds of miles away from the hustle of both cities is ash. Decimated buildings squat like apes among filth and rubble, with the occasional tree or patch of shrubbery giving a much-needed splash of color to the landscape. In one forgotten corner, a small group splits its meager findings of the day and hunkers down for shelter in an old supermarket. In another, a mercenary strangles his quarry, then kneels to search the body.
It's a lonesome, empty place. Survival is difficult, and living takes backbreaking work. But any place is better than under their noses.
Hello, hello, everyone, I'm Echo, coming to you with another potential RP. This plot in particular has a decent amount of history to it, having existed on other sites for a few years before I decided to move the concept over here. I first tried it out on the Free board when I was starting out, and, seeing how it's slowed down tremendously since then, I decided that it might be a good idea to try my luck here and see how people liked it. There's a fair amount of plot stuff connected to this RP, so if you have any questions or need to clear things out before I post the actual Roleplay, feel free to ask.
At any rate, Age of Gifted takes place in a large, bleak world, set after the complete genocide of non-powered humans, and taking place in the middle of a war between Erubesco and Liberty- two world powers that have been decking it out for eight years now. The setting offers something for just about anyone. Looking for some good old war preparation, corrupt authority, and inhumane experimentation? Want for your characters to explore a complete wasteland, fighting to survive in poor conditions? Bloody fighting? In-depth character exploration? This RP hopes to offer all of that and more.
Also, everyone has superpowers.
In short, Gifted hopes to offer...
- Detailed open world, with a wealth of possibilities and character opportunities.
- Rich lore, with opportunities to contribute your own as time passes.
- A friendly, open-minded GM (I hope).
What I ask of you...
- Reliability. Please don't join and then immediately leave without saying anything, putting the rest of the players in the dark. I understand that everyone has their own responsibilities, and I have no worries about players not posting constantly, but I would prefer players that stick around instead of disappearing. Vanishing players makes things very difficult to deal with.
- Maturity. Both in that you can handle dark themes of violence, death, and other grim, future dystopian stuff, and that you can deal with OOC issues calmly and politely.
- Creativity. There's room for all kinds of characters and plot. Be creative!
So if all this interests you, feel free to drop me a PM, or just post your interest/questions on here, and I'll get to them as soon as I can. :)
