[OOC] Gotham Knights - City On Fire

Batman and his allies rescued Batgirl from the clutches of Bane. After it was decided the dead Robins couldn't be saved, Slade Wilson revealed himself to be his body-jumping son Jericho and offered to help Batman save one of the Robins. When taking on Bane, Jericho agreed to help the League of Assassins in rescuing Nyssa Al Ghul who was also being held against her will like Batgirl and Deathstroke's daughter. However, Nyssa was dead when they arrived on the scene. Deathstroke was transported across the country with a dead goon of Bane's to make it look like he'd blacked out during a mission in Coast City. However the League of Assassins will be looking for him, despite him not knowing where he had been the last two months.

Jericho, now in the body of Richard Grayson and still using the Skeleton Jack alias, helps others defend Gotham while Bruce is away [likely looking for a way to save the boys]. Batman put Batwoman in command after she was such a help rescuing Barbara Gordon. He also gave the would be vigilante group an HQ of their own hidden in plain sight in Historic Gotham.

Can the team save Gotham when a group of criminals using Firefly tech decide to burn the city to the ground? What motivates the new Fireflies and why are they targeting specific buildings across town? Will Batman have any allies still standing when he returns from his trip over seas?

In the comics there are quite a few heroes and villains to come out of Gotham and surrounding cities like Bludhaven and Hub City. Players may have used one of the existing ones, created an original character, or even become a cop from the GCPD. Whoever you are you will have presumably been friends with Batman to a certain degree.

The idea for this RP, is for each arc to only last around 4-6 weeks our time. I don't want us all getting put into a corner and then the RP die cause nobody knows what to do to move things forward. Upon the completion of each arc the thread would get a new sub-title. Like for example, instead of 'Wrath of Bane' the next one may be 'League of Assassins vs League of Shadows'. This universe is loosely based on current comics cannon in the DC Rebirth Universe. The CURRENT arc is title 'City On Fire'.

Name: James Harrison
Alias: Night Walker
Age: 15
Powers/Skills:
Life force manipulation: James is able to manipulate the life force energy within himself and animals and plants. With this power he can attack a foe's life force instead of physically harming them. These attacks can be both close and long ranged, but longer ranges are very difficult for him to do at his current stage of development. For example if James makes contact with a light slap or punch he can attack their life force and cause a good amount of harm. He can also use his powers to help keep a person from dying by keeping their life force within them flowing, but this ability does cost energy and he will suffer from fatigue and the ability will then end. A side effect of his powers is that he can live far longer than any normal human being and ages a lot slower after hitting adulthood. Also he has a resistance to necromancy and can combat the magic when used against others.
Equipment: an ancient Greek sword
Weaknesses: The biggest weakness to his powers is that they require him to use his own life force to access them so if he taxes his life force energy too much then he could slip into a coma or even die.
Experience: he has only a few months of experience
Alignment: reluctant hero
Personality: Individualist, inquisitive, realist, brave and aloof

BRIEF Bio: James was born in New Orleans Louisiana and from an early age he felt different from everyone else. Strange things would happen around him and it made him afraid. Plants would wither and bloom when he was near. Other kids felt very uncomfortable around him as if his presence affected their very souls.

He had asked his mom before about why these things were happening, but there was a reluctance in her tone of voice as she told him that she didn't know what was going on. James could tell that she wasn't telling the truth and he would find out the truth no matter what.

While at school one day James was picked on by some of the bullies and it got violent after he insulted them. While reacting in self defense James' mysterious powers activated and put the bullies and six other students into a coma. Kids who saw what happened screamed in terror and pointed accusing fingers at him.

The authorities were called and they took James home where they explained the situation to his mother. He was suspended from school and the police wanted him to stay home until the investigation into what had happened was complete. To the total surprise of the authorities, there was no sign of any severe damage or toxins in the student's bodies. What ever had been done to them was not anything that medical or forensic science could explain.

He wasn't found guilty of any crime, but the school still felt that it was best that he stay out of school for a bit. James was scared and confused at the turn of events in his life. His mom knew that it was time to tell him the truth about his heritage and his father.

And so James learned that his father was Iapetus the Titan of mortality. He learned that his father like all of the titans were not respected like the Olympians and that regardless of whether he was with normal people or demigods, he wouldn't be truly respected. With this new large of knowledge James finally had an answer to his questions. After the incident at school, his mother decided that they would move to Gotham city and it wasn't long until James decided to use his powers to fight crime when he saw it. He took the name Night Walker and started his rookie career as a vigilante.

With @unknown100 and @Nightwing95 using Batwoman and Batwing I may have Batman get those two to gather the group off screen to meet in an old Wayne Industries warehouse or something. Batman will split the group into two teams and then it's balls to the wall. Half of us will be kicking Bane's goons' asses and looking for Batgirl while the other group is busting heads and trying to get a bead on Bane.

I just realized there is very little of him that is Guardian. Pretty much Guardian in name and appearance only.

Which made me think of M.A.N.T.I.S.' flying car. Which made me think wouldn't it be cool if the Guardian Mobile could fly. Which led me to post this and ask: @The Kid Lantern will you allow the Guardian Mobile to have flight capabilities?

The above led me to this: Since there is a hero named Batwing, what does Batman call his Batwing vehicle now?

Batarang sounds good
Bat-Shark Repellent would make sense if he was fighting a hybrid made from a bat and a shark, otherwise it's just dumb.
Never heard of Bat-Goggles or Bat-Cuffs.
Batboat from the ones I seen need a more bat motif.
