Jenny grew bored with the repetitive nature of the groups she was observing about the same time Don notified her that someone had entered her room, most likely it would be her roommate or even staff in any case it gave her partial dominion of the space and a right to be there.
So she smoothly lifted off the ground and approached her room by way of the window which answered her commands by unlatching and opening to allow her to enter.
She enters as silently as a ghost only coming to a halt above her bed where she assumes a sitting position like some Genie. Four foot ten inches tall she looks even more like some fantasy creature when she speaks in a sweet almost musical tone
Hello I am Jenny Miracle Rodgers; I didn’t chose my name but because I don’t have a name my Mentor named me off the top of her head.
We must share this space as Roommates; please make any declarations or demands of territory or atmospherics now if you have any.
I am a Prime Type Magnetic Manipulator or Elemental but don’t worry I promise not to crash you electronics and even offer to enhance the stability of their magnetic fields so that they are more difficult to damage by EMP.
I am here to learn to associate with humanity; If I do something that is wrong please feel free to educate me on my misunderstanding but I reserve the right of final decision of my own actions.
It is wonderful to find myself with this oppurtunities so long have Jenny waited to experience what it is like to know people that I do not work with or under. Laughter, Friendship, Female Peers my age to speak with about the many confusing things in this world.
When she finishes Jenny giggles in delight which causes her ponytail to lash like a cat’s tail.
Aurtha jumped in alarm to the girl she didn't hear enter. She spun around, her hair falling over her shoulder roughly, revealing the matted curls that lay beneath her top layer of hair. Aurtha blinked, not paying much attention to anything she said at first, eyeing the very small, peculiar girl that hovered gently over her own bed. She knew she towered over most people, especially girls, but this girl seemed abnormally short to the point where thoughts of breaking her in half crowded Aurtha's attention. She shook her head to become focused on the conversation again.
Something about EMPS... Electronics...? Aurtha gave a quick, confused look before returning back to her soft expression. It is clear that nearly everything she said went right over head.
Without hesitation, nor second-thought over what she explained, Aurtha questioned,"Are you some sort of fairy?" Although she has only been on campus for a brief time, the spectrum of unusual things was broadened, so the likeliness of her being a fairy didn't surprise Aurtha.
The giggle at the end of the girls statement made Aurtha see her as such a delicate individual, assuming she only possessed little power, possibly just the ability of flight. Shaking her head to dismiss the underestimation, she attempted to look at the girl at a different angle, but it seemed impossible to imagine the girl lifting anything bigger than a cheeseburger, or perhaps a water bottle. Questions began to appear in Aurtha's train of thought: 'how much does she weigh', 'how much does she consume', 'what powers does she even have', 'how far could I throw someone her size'.
(For those who wish here is the post of Aurtha & Jenny's Meeting)
I am an alien or at least that is the present assumption answered Jenny giggling once more her ponytail signaling how funny she thought the logic was.
I think I understand the confusion, I am small and I float without visible support; all that’s needed is a twinkling shower of glitter with audible tiny bells tinkling chaotically.
"Alien?" Aurtha immediately replies in shock, somehow shocked by this response, but not of her previous assumption.
"Sorry," Aurtha pauses,"I've just never met somebody so tiny before."
Aurtha moved to take a seat on her own bed, brushing her hair back with her hand. "I've never shared a room with somebody before, but I'm sure it'll be easy! Just respect my privacy and I'll respect yours," Aurtha tells her assuredly.
"My name is Aurtha," She says happily,"It's a pleasure to meet you!"
Jenny considers Authra’s words carefully and smiles Perhaps I seem small because you measure me only physically but I am much more than muscle and bone, I am an Energy being as well.
I am capable of tearing this building apart by ripping the rebar from the walls and floors with a thought……...I am proof that all foes deserve the measure of our attention
At least that’s what Maggie taught me
Then Jenny leans closer almost folding double staring intently at her Roomie
Your energy pattern tells me that your body is denser than a homo sapiens which might signal strength or durability and thinking of our location I might find both as adequate answers
Aurtha was, again, shocked at Jenny's statement -- the girl seeming to be full of surprises. She didn't know if she wanted to see the proof, or not, for the sake of what could be a big mess. Instead, she believed her, both amazed, but still doubtful of her ability. Regardless, Aurtha assumed she would never see the possible destruction Jenny is capable of.
"Um, yeah...," Aurtha hesitated, seeming to be secretive of her powers and ancestry.
"I'm amazed by everyone here, but I wonder what everyone's intentions are for being at this school," she questioned rhetorically, "I didn't know so many meta-humans existed."
Whether it be from going through an emotional day, being extra sensitive, or the previous nostalgic moments that caused Aurtha to feel somewhat close to Jenny already, she felt some sort of trust already established from their brief meeting. Aurtha paused before asking her first, heart-felt question of Jenny,"Tell me again why you came here, Jenny?". Aurtha knew she already mentioned her reasoning for being here, but the reminder of her explained motives seemed to better describe Aurtha's sincerity towards the conversation.
Jenny hovered closer to Authra and smiled when asked to repeat the answer to a question that had been asked of her by her mentor and the others at the Agency.
I had heard of this school and studied it in the Agency files but never thought of attending till I killed again about 6 months ago and Wendy was asking me why I had killed instead of stripping the man of weapons. It was while trying to understand the concern in the Wendy’s voice that I realized I didn’t see the man as a person but an obstacle and locking down his pistol’s movements as i disarmed him not worth my efforts.
I had to wait for my Mentor to return to discover the answer and that was that outside of the Agency I had no association with homo sapiens, perhaps i needed to learn to see humanity as people. Well I can’t be allowed around regular homo sapiens because I might prove what a monster I am though I find it hard to think of a reason why I’d become a monster without provocation.
A cold chill ran up Aurtha's spine after Jenny mentioned killing without seeming to show any remorse, especially when she described the person as a mere obstacle. It was clear to Aurtha that she was amongst the stronger of individuals now, but it never crossed her mind that she would be among killers as well. Throughout all the combat and practice she experienced through the years, she has yet to feel the surrealism of killing, if she were to ever utilize her skills.
"I see," Aurtha replied in an attempt to understand where she's coming from,"It must be hard for you to learn how humanity works, but I'm sure you'll get it! It's a hard topic to grasp."
Aurtha could relate in some way, taking into consideration the cruel, dark nature of mankind, but also the love and happiness that they express so boldly. Though, Aurtha felt that there is no excuse for taking the life of a weaker, innocent being, unless highly provoked.
"I'm sure if you have an outbreak here, the majority of us would be able to handle it better than humans," Aurtha jokes,"Plus, I think the school is equipped with several precautions, in case something like that were to happen. But, that's not an excuse for you to test your strengths!"
Jenny could sense the monster aspect disturbing Aurtha and retraced what she’d said and how it might have caused it then said I am here on my word to not kill anyone and I so want to remain.
Maggie already had a talk with me pointing out that killing is easy but serving justice difficult because the law had consensus of the population; then she said there was the exception but that would require that I understand society before I could know when to make that exception.
So why are you here?
Aurtha knew that comprehending the many social constructs that humanity created was a difficult task, not just for metas or aliens, but for the humans that built them as well. She suspected that Jenny might have a hard time understanding much of the contents and rules of the society of mankind, but she hoped, for mankind's sake, that Jenny would learn quickly and correctly.
"Yes," Aurtha replied,"It would be right to learn how to live among humans without killing them."
Aurtha hesitated before answering Jenny's question, her long response making her slight, amazonian accent more apparent,"Well, I'm here to meet people of similar power to me. We all live in the same world and we should all learn to co-exist. With such a fragile population that dominates the planet, we should learn to not be hostile, and we should learn to help each other do the right things. As powerful beings, it is easy to become subject to making the wrong decisions. So, I have come to befriend people like you and understand the mannerisms of people alike." She ends with a smile.
I didn't mean to kill the man, I was distracted by entering estrous and cravings for Chocolate so instead of focusing my attention on my target I allowed only the minimum effort to save the hostages with two wrenches, one aimed at his head to destroy his brainstem and prevent his pulling the trigger and the second striking simultaneously the weapon and weapon hand to throw the muzzle up. I should have just magnetically locked his gun springs and firing pin and forced him to continue trying to hold it as I pointed it at him as a threat for surrender.....I was wrong.
Maggie said it was proof that I was at least 15-16 years old comparatively and also proof I needed learn to like people, how to kiss, how to tell good jokes, maybe even learn what love is; "That's what school life is for"
Once I learn I will go back to the Agency and protect Maggie as she hunts the bad guys, she isn't a Fighting type of Meta and Fragile.....I think I do love her because I miss her already. blurts out Jenny floating to the window.
"For someone who has no intentions to kill somebody, you sure have very detailed methods of how to do so. Presumably, because you've been taught one way or another, or perhaps you've learned from practice," Aurtha told Jenny sternly.
Jenny turns to look at Aurtha with curiosity her eyes displaying a lack of focus
I don't have lots of ways to kill I just weigh my environment for weapons, access the requirements for victory such as noncombatants, explosive, caustic, poisonous, flammable, valuable and so forth, how many assets the enemy has, their weapon loadout, how armored are they, what method or methods of locomotion my foe uses, their speed and maneuverability, my safety and how to do all this with the least amount of force. Maggie says that if they don't go down soft they go down hard.
Sorry if that is troublesome
"Jenny," Aurtha sighs,"The way you speak illustrates such a vivid picture of you being some type of murderer. You seem very defensive as if you're provoked and attacked a lot. You talk as if killing is second nature to you, feeling proud of your capabilities of how to take a man down. Just -- be careful of how you defend yourself; some circumstances don't call for drastic measures."
Aurtha keeps in the majority of her thoughts as she begins to see why the agency Jenny mentioned placed her in a place like this. In the end, Aurtha only hopes that the now-aged Batman was prepared for something of this magnitude.
Aurtha's thoughts became flooded of imaginations of outbreak and chaos, all stemming from the little being that hovers before her. Casting the possible fear from her mind, Aurtha gets up and begins to walk to the door,"I think I'm gonna go take a stroll in the gardens." With no intentions of leaving on any bad note, despite the rising tension that Aurtha felt, she turns and smiles at Jenny before exiting,"I'll see you later."
Jenny was puzzled by Aurtha's leaving so she asked Don have I somehow made a mistake and presented myself a someone who enjoy's killing?
It is possible that you did by simply bringing it up, not all people are as detached as you are from such an act said Don with more detail than normal again giving evideince that a Wendy was watching her closely
She was right on one detail though, I do feel as if I am always on edge and worried about being attacked.
I wish I wasn't like the primates of this world and could stand being alone said Jenny with a sigh just before the window snapped open and she flew outside then accellerated straight up and out of sight after passing through the clouds overhead.
