STORY/BACKGROUND - > September 23rd, 2030, is when the attack happened. > It has been over 100 years since the mass fallout of humanity. A majority of buildings have crumbled to pieces, mother nature has taken claim and spread herself vastly over the earth. Filling it with vibrant colors, essentially showing off what she has reclaimed as rightfully hers. Highways have cracked and filled with weeds. This is the Apocalypse. These days, its a rarity finding processed/canned food that is still consumable. The once bustling citie now only sound of animal calls, instead of cars - as they have filled the cities and took back their land as well. Some of the past has survived in the larger cities, leaving the wandering youth to question what life was like before this apocalyptic nightmare life they know now. > Oh right. Humanity's mass fallout is due to multiple giant portals opening above every continent, they stayed in the sky for hours. An ominous black-purple swirl, that left the whole world screaming in terror. A lot of scientists called it a natural phenomenon - which was only to soothe the masses. But in reality, after 4 hours - demons flooded from the portal. Thousands came and slaughtered 70% of the world's population in the matter of 2 hours. As to why they suddenly left in the middle of mass hysteria - is completely unknown. Many who have survived - think it is because they gorged enough and went home, others believe it is because the portal closed and demons had a limited time to wreak havoc - so they did, others just still pray to some God begging, and pleading for their questions to be answered. > The portal has been closed for over 100 years, but demons still remain on earth. Some are rather easy to kill, others you want to hide from. Some demons look like science experiments gone wrong, animals fused together in horrific ways. Other demons look human-like, but there is still something prominent that shows they are not human at all (floating, teeth, horns, skin discoloration, unable to speak human, etc). There are even some demons who grow the faces of those they've eaten on their bodies - appearing more and more bulbous as they consume more - becoming slow moving. But the worse ones, are the ones whose power enables them to completely change their appearance to that of a human - they're the only demon to have a common name by every lone human survivor - a Shape Shifter. > As the years have passed, humans have began to thrive in this demon infested world. But the demons are almost far and few in between it seems. Sometimes you'll run into a cluster, other times you wont see one for months. But it is very certain, they outnumber the humans. This world is always on edge, but one thing has been learned - to not make loud noises. They will find you if they are near. Though, there have been tales of a few humans have come across demons that have noticed their existence and left them alone. Those humans we call lucky. As to why some demons ignore humans? Once again, unknown. They seem to almost co-exist, but no human cares to stick around long enough to see how long that idea is possible for. > Humans have reproduced in the 100 years since the attack on humanity. There have been children born through-out the apocalypse. Many humans have banded together in tribes/communities to sustain themselves and keep the human race alive. Some people still wander alone - thinking they're the last remaining human since they haven't seen a soul in so many years. > Half breeds (mutts) have been outcasted from many communities. They can be distinguished easily by a non-human physical feature. Though, there have been some who look just like a normal human. But the thing with half-breeds, is they're typically killed upon the realization of what they are. Usually the parents are slaughtered as well, depending if the birth was in a community. But, for those Half-breeds that are around, they tend to try to conceal what they really are - unless they have a distaste for the human race themselves. > Over the 100 years, many communities have sustained themselves, some have been wiped out. But there is one that has seemed to of stood the test of time, and many demons are not very happy about this. They seem to now see it as a challenge to try and infiltrate it and slaughter what's inside.
SETTING -
~ The Mountain Village called The Sanctuary. ~ This village is carved into the side of the mountain, after 100 years there are vast tunnels, and over 150 inhabitants. There is only one entrance that is located near a waterfall at the base. The spray of water hitting the lake beneath causes the entrance to appear almost hidden. There is a gate located higher up to help people find their way towards Sanctuary. ~ The fresh mountain water also flows into the mountain and into a giant reservoir that is located in the center of this mountain carved village inside. The Reservoir is where the community shower/bath house is, a lot of people mainly swim in the smaller reservoir - and shower in the small waterfalls that falls through the ceiling on the sides - man-made small stalls made of adobe have been constructed for those who want privacy. ~ When approaching the Sanctuary, there is a small village outside the tunnel leading in. This mainly the shops, bar, guard houses. The Sanctuary has two levels. The Main & Lower Level. On the Main Floor to the North are the King/Queen chambers. -Main floor East - is the kitchen and dining hall. The kitchen serves Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner for everyone, but also provides fires for those who have caught their own food, this cavern is the only one that ventilates. Main Floor West - is training grounds, and classrooms. And the Main Floor South - is Guard chambers, and supply rooms. The Entrance is to the south as well on the Main floor. The center of this is the community hall, which is basically like a small gathering hall - some village meetings are held here. -On the Lower Level, is the Reservoir, and the rooms for all the inhabitants - which have been carved over the years to accommodate family size. Since there is only 1 entrance, it is guarded 24/7 - and hasn't been infiltrated by demons in 40+ years. Outside of the entrance, around the mountain are gardens, that are tended to by those chosen by the Kings Advisors. ~ It is a community where everyone has a job, collecting water, tending to the gardens, cooking, cleaning, training the youth, hunting, guarding, foraging from cities - all chosen by the Kings Advisors. ~ As stated above, The Sanctuary has stood the test of time - but recently has been attacked numerous times. As told by one demon, who surprisingly spoke human, that recently attacked - "more attacks are to follow, it is a goal to destroy this mountain". So now The Sanctuary has been on high alert, wondering when a possible horde will attack. It appears though that many of the blood-thirsty demons get too excited and attack alone - leaving them to fail. ~ The Sanctuary has now seen a rise of villages staying inside the mountain - due to fear of going outside in the small gated village and being attacked. Though, many haven't let the attacks affect their daily lives and some beggars still set up shop outside. ~ There is a current leader of The Sanctuary, his name is King Dominick. He has reigned as ruler for the past 20 years, and many praise him. He is a noble man, but is also starting to reach the end of his life. He is about 52, and is soon looking to pass his ruling off. He has 3 Advisors; Tomuk - a man in his late 30s, usually grumpy and tempermental. Dayna - A young woman in her late 20's, she is the refreshing face of the three and puts her heart into her choices. And then there is Goran - He is also in his late 20's, and is also the Gaurd's/Warriors Commander. So you can make a judgement of his personality (headstrong).
RULES - + In this RP, you can be a shape-shifter, a mutt (halfbreed), or a straight up human! PLEASE, lets not all be demons though - + Demons are immortal. Once killed they're just exiled back to their home world. Mutts (halfbreeds) are conceived from a demon parent, and human parent. A mutts life expectancy is unknown. Humans, life expectancy in this world now is down to 60. + For looks, lets use an anime/drawn reference. I debated this for a while and in the case of those trying to find a look for their demon - I think that'd be easier. + This is honestly an anything kinda goes RP. Powers aren't exactly limited - just don't act all Godly. There are demons obviously of different strengths & ranks, you can decide from there. Since, in a human perspective - not much is known about Demons + A lot of knowledge has become destroyed and lost over 100 years. It is essentially almost a medieval time setting. No current technology or luxuries obviously. + You character can be from another village, or a lone traveler, or what have you. But the story is going to focus on the increase of attacks to The Sanctuary, and where your character falls into play with that is up to you. + You can have interactions with the King, or shit if you wanna play the King, PM me. + If you have any ideas, feel free to PM me. + No killing other characters without permission + No God Modding + What I say, Goes. + No arguing in OOC

Name - Brielle (Bri - elle) Alabastor Age - 21 Breed - Human Pic/Description of Character -
Her hair cascades to around her hips, held up by her headband that has a mandala on the front of it. Her body is toned from being chosen as a Hunter - which in turn also means she is a warrior, who trains every day. Her tattoos come from a man within the village whose family from the start has tattooed people in exchange for trades of what they needed at the time. She got a large dragon-like demon wrapping around her stomach, shoulders, right arm, and even down her left thigh. She wears tight black shorts with two long pieces rectangle pieces of fabric that are attached like a belt - to cover the front of her waist, and butt. She wraps her feet in cloth, and approaches the world with bare feet. Personality - Brielle is a very laid back girl, she tends to try and stay out of people's business, and way. Mainly can be found wandering alone on her time off, but will never reject the opportunity to spend time with anyone. She is a humble, and thoughtful girl - when in the comfort of The Sanctuary. But upon leaving the Mountain - she seems to flip a switch. A hardened-nimble Hunter. She is able to jump from branch to branch in the trees (given they're close enough) making almost no noise, and has become one of the more skilled hunters in the village. She is not willing to allow herself to become Demon food, and ensures those around her will not either. She is self-sufficient and hates relying on someone, not that she minds help but she prefers to accomplish things herself. Those she does get attached too, she cares about deeply. But also will occasionally distance herself due to fear of her past. Bio- Brielle was born in The Sanctuary, and the Mountain life is the only life she knows. Her Mother was a Gardener, and Father was a Guard/Warrior. Before she was born, her father was killed in a fight against a demon. Her mother had to raise Brielle alone - but it was shortlived. As she had to return to the Gardens, a day came where she didn't come back. She was 1 of 3 Gardeners who were devoured against a small pack of disfigured demons. Brielle was an Orphan at the age of 5. She remembered her mother fondly through the years, only stories of her father were what was gifted to her. She always imagined what he looked like - since most everyone said she looked like him. Most noted how skilled she was with a Bow and Arrow, noting this was her fathers specialty as well. After becoming an Orphan, she was taken in by her Aunt Cadance, her Mother's sister. Her father had no family, and no backstory that she knew of. Aunt Cadance was a pretty marvelous woman, she was a forager - and would tell Brielle stories of all the demons she encountered, how she got away, sometimes even how she almost died. These stories always tickled Brielle's fantasy. But, Brielle understood that the world outside was beautiful, and gruesome, but being behind the mountain walls for so long these real stories were a fantasy for a child. Brielle attended the school The Sanctuary had, though the most students the class ever held was about 10 at time. It taught reading/writing as a child, and skills to live as you hit puberty. Foraging, fighting, and hunting was trained to everyone. But it was during these times that you were observed, and chosen as a Warrior/Forager/Guard/Etc. Everyone else was left to a duty behind the Mountain Walls (Cook, Teacher, Supply Attendant, etc). During this time, Brielle showed natural talent with a Bow and Arrow, being able to hit the center of a target everytime. She was automatically pulled for a hunter. Though training her with a spear, and sword was different, and it took her some training to become as nimble as she is today. And as she become more skilled, she was also put in the 'Reserves' as a Warrior if it ever came down to it. As she finished her studies, at the age of 15 she morphed into a Hunter. But alas, as fate would have it - the day came her Aunt never returned. Her Aunt never married or had children, she told by Aunt Cadance that she (Brielle) was her daughter. 10 years she had lived with her Aunt, and she too - was devoured by a demon on a Foraging task for the village. Upon losing every bit of family she had, Brielle turned into more of a silent person, trying to keep herself from getting attached to people. But she finds herself always gravitating towards people, as living a lonely life - gets rather lonely. Brielle tends to stay away from the Mountain for a day to two at a time when given a Task. She found an old small destroyed village about a half a day's walk from The Sanctuary, when she first began. Here she saw more than she could ever name, cars, TV's, technology she had never seen or heard of before bewildered her. Every visit, she tried to take back a book or two, enjoying the stories they told. She encountered demons as well during her travels, but found that the old moss and mold covered houses hid her scent pretty well. So she was able to stay undetected as long as she was alert. She stays alone in her Aunt's Cavern-home. It is a small cavern located on the East side, with 2 bedrooms carved out, a living room, and very small area for dry-storage. In her off time, Brielle has been found to have her nose stuck in a book, or spending time outside the Sanctuary. She loves the outside, and hopes to eventually leave the Village, but for now feels as if leaving home is not an option as tensions increase of a possible attack.
Name: Ysran Stormreach. He doesn't really know his name, so he just threw a few things together.
Age: Around late 20's
Breed: Human. However, demonic exposure has transformed his ears. Many think he is a half-breed.
Picture:
Personality: Could be described as "Neutral Evil," He isn't explicitly evil, as in, he won't burn down buildings or terrorize people, but in the pursuit of knowledge and power, no price is to great to pay, even if it means resorting to things others may find "Evil"
Equipment: Ysran carries a pack of ritual materials and demonic texts. He also carries a Machete.
Bio: Ysran, or at least that's what he's gone to calling himself now, was a very smart child. He learned to read from his parents, and how to survive out in the wilderness. Because that's where he lived. He lived with a group of humans who were just trying to survive. Yet in his 15th year his entire tribe was destroyed by the demons.
A normal human would have ran, but Ysran was... Fascinated. He stared on, half terrified, half in wonder, as everyone was slaughtered. Yet when a rather human-like demon appeared to finish him, he asked to learn from them. The demons took a great interest in him. A human who would willingly work with them in the pursuit of knowledge. Surprisingly, they accepted his offer.
Forming a pact with them, he would be granted knowledge and demonic power, in exchange for information on how humans lived. How did they interact with each other? How did they make their weapons? The same way they did? These particular set of demons wanted to know, and were willing to offer power. Ysran accepted, and began to slowly return info to the group. He was then told of a place called "Sanctuary". A large congregation of humans? Perfect. He could learn much. He set out, seeking to know what awaits him.
Ysran was granted a small list of spell-like abilities:
A ball of dark energy capable of delivering quite a bit of force, about enough to go through a door. Against living targets, this can knock people down, and it terms of damage, it would take 2-3 to kill a normal person as the darkness burns like a strong acid. You're basically being hit with a bowling ball made of acid.
Attracts all manner of fish and sometimes other aquatic creatures to a singular point. The range can vary from a few inches to several feet.
A zombie-like minion is summoned to do Ysran's bidding. It can follow simple commands such as "Hold this" or "Go there". If told to, the Shambler will follow another person's commands until told otherwise by Ysran. It prioritizes Ysran's commands first. here's a pic.
A fish (or other aquatic creature) is summoned much like a Shambler. These can be anything from a goldfish, to a Great White Shark. However the general rule is, the bigger the creature, the shorter time it has before it is unsummoned. This can be delayed, but requires great concentration from Ysran.
Creates a layer of Scale-like armor around the skin. It doesn't turn your skin into scales,it just created a layer of them on top of the skin. Greater Fishscales is stronger, but normal Fishscales can be cast on others.
Can heal most wounds, poisons, and some diseases. This spell however costs quite a bit of mana, and spell casting time can take a while.
Fills an opponent's lungs with water, drowning them. However first, Ysran must mentally overcome his opponent. The spell also takes a moment to cast, and only lasts as long as Ysran concentrates.
Ysran sends forth a black smokescreen, and all that see within are shown monstrous, disgusting versions of their worst fears come to life. This usually makes people run away, or cower in fear.
Eden has a long and lean frame and stands at a height of 6'1 when standing up straight, but he has a very heavy tendency to slouch which makes him appear an inch or so shorter. He has dark brown dreadlocks that he wears in two styles, down or in a nice ponytail. He has brown eyes, a pale complexion and is generally considered very average in appearance.
Personality
Eden is a humble soul who enjoys bringing smiles to all. He is very loyal to those he has formed relationships with and will go the extra mile to ensure that they are well cared for. He is fairly educated and is somewhat of a genius when it comes to attempting to decipher what old world artifacts wouldve previously been, as long as it isnt too complicated.
Bio
Eden never really got the chance to know his parents like many other children did. What is known of them and their time in sanctuary is very little. As far as he knows his mother and father were travelers who wandered the world not knowing who to trust or where they could stay for long. Unlike many orphans who lost their parents to demons, Eden's parents abandoned him during early infancy at entrance to Sanctuary. And from there he was raised among the people of Sanctuary as if they were his own family. For a long while, many speculated that Eden's mother and father had been demons in disguise sent pretend to be a couple in need looking for a place to stay for the night, and had left Eden as some sort of trap. However, as Eden grew over time and showed no signs of being a demon this theory soon disappeared.
When Eden came of age to finally put his effort into the community he wanted to return what the residents had done for him. So he decided to take up the work as a teenager to watch over the younger children and teach them, and after a few years when he became an adult, he was selected to be one of the few trainers for the children. Now he lives his days out helping those in need, he is always willing to take on jobs that aren't his own if it means to return a favor.
Secrets
-Wears the only trinket his mother and father left him with, a necklace with a strange crystal on it. -He enjoys poking around for things related to the past, more specifically anything music related. -Spends most of his time at night singing alone somewhere where not many can hear him.
In his human form, Adam stands at 5'7" with light brown hair and lovely green eyes. His skin in this form is a nice pale.
In his demon form, Adam stands at 6'3" with white strands of hair and crimson red eyes. His skin in this form is ghostly white.
Personality
While he appears human, Adam is very kind and passionate about protecting others. He appears especially attractive and innocent. While human, Adam is loving and listens very well. He seems like the perfect nice person. He is silly, and everything a shy and innocent person would be.
However, when he is in his demon form he is the opposite. He is cruel, terrible, and terrifying. He'll protect those who he deems worthy of protecting, but he is mostly uncontrollable and chaotic while in this mode. He's unpredictable.
Backstory
The demons were getting smarter. More clever. They wanted a way to create more of themselves that looked human. So they did. They took what was needed to create a demon, and placed it into the body of a human. The result was Adam.
But Adam was a failure. He didn't want to hurt the humans, he wanted to protect them. He felt...emotions. He was lucky he had his demon form, and he fought his demon parents off. Killed them, and then set out on his own. Did he want...closure? A home? A family? Being a human is confusing. After finding a few and (secretly) learning from them, he's gotten the hang of it. Now, he's one his way to The Sanctuary. He just hopes they don't murder him.
Misc
-In human form, he carries two daggers made from his parent's bones -Adam finds humans interesting, so if he's to be with one romantically he doesn't care their sex
BIOGRAPHY Oddly enough, Sparrow had a fairly normal childhood. Well, as normal of a childhood as she could have while growing up in the apocalypse. Her parents were loving, patient, and kind, and while she was raised within the confines of a small home in the middle of nowhere, she was a happy child. Her grandfather had built the small home where she was raised in the middle of the woods, hoping to make it a safe place for future generations, and so it was, until the attacks started happening. Her grandparents had long since passed, and Sparrow was somewhere around ten when the first attack happened. The demons took her mother and left young Sparrow with her father. The heartbroken two left their home in search of a safe place. A sanctuary.
They joined the residents of Sanctuary and have been with them ever since. Sparrow's father took the job of a guard, and once old enough Sparrow started working in the kitchens.
MISC. -sparrow is way too trusting and likes to think there is good in everyone
Luciel stands at 5'10 with thick shoulder-length blonde hair and hazel eyes. Clean and smooth complexion save for freckles. Luciel sports four horns as well as the start of branching antlers, these are kept loosely bound with long strips of cloth which hold an array of symbols and Latin phrases painted in blood. The phrases depict a wide variety of prayers, though the symbols meld together like their own shapeless language which many suspect is demonic script. Wide pupils constrict vertically into cat-like slits rather than simply narrowing, and reverse in reaction to darkness. Ironically, Luciel is far from a fan of bright light for this reason as it steals color from his vision in return for exceptional sight in low light settings. Luciel speaks with as little mouth movement, accentuated upper and lower K9 fangs only hinting to the vicious maw behind them. With elastic properties to his facial skin around his double-jointed jaw, the rows of teeth continue another inch back. A bite from Luciel would be equally as horrifying as painful. Lastly, slender fingers are armored especially around the tips with pale claws. The real oddity is how clean and filed they're kept, leaving them smooth and blunt to the touch...though they have a nasty habit of rapid growth back to razor sharpness if not tended to as religiously as Luciel keeps them.
In a slightly androgynous way, Luciel could be considered beautiful if the eye is willing to look past their monstrous features.
Luciel prefers an attire that resembles cloth, though is silken smooth. Form fitting though humble in its color resembling dried blood with his hues of faded crimson and charcoal black. The shawl worn over the suit holds an addition resembling a collar of burnt silver with a similar fastener linked to a ring around his shoulders. The suit, itself has no pockets and the lower section integrates built in boots with flat 2-inch boot heels. It's unclear how this attire is put on or taken off, though the silver collar appears to be independent of the ensemble.
The quiet type, Luciel keeps to himself as he is wholly aware of what he is mostly out of fear of humans. This could be considered a predisposition, though his understanding nature reflects the notion to instead paint the situation as an unwillingness to unnerve humans with his appearance...and behavior. Somewhere in the wasteland, Luciel found what some know as 'God', and his faith pulled him back from the sadistically feral blood that burns in his veins. Indefatigable purpose, empathy and a goal to aid the ailing currently staves off the monster that screams to maul humans and devour their flesh at every given second of every day. Because of this, his worship is obscenely odd and involves acts akin to the live sacrifice of animals, prayer/meditation, dancing in the moonlight (rarely naked) and 'sealing' (entering a trance to scribe the script into strips of cloth which adorn his horns and antlers). Getting past his quirks, Luciel is a fan of company, though is a man of few words or facial emotions but is eager to serve human guests. His sense of humor can be seen as inappropriate or dark at times, but he means well and simply hasn't had much interaction with humans. However, his greatest flaw is a vow of pacifism which some would see as his most honorable quality; an unconditional refusal to take life. Though he is far more than capable of defending himself and others with his qualities that separate him from humanity, the idea of drawing blood and being lost to bloodlust is a risk he refuses to take.
The events leading up to Luciel's birth are detailed in ways that have no business being recalled in text. A young woman bore the child of a horrific demon, a process that killed her in the process, leaving her older brother in possession of an abomination that spat in the face of God and Man. However, the small monster was still the last shred of family he had left. Whether it was this realization or simply beholding the unholy bridge between mankind and demons, he was driven into what the rest of his tribe described as madness. While he was ordered by the elders to dash the monster upon rocks and be done with the nightmare, he resisted and foolishly fled with everything his arms could carry, his or not.
My father was a good man. He taught me about the world and how we were the children of the earth and were born to live in fear. How to hunt in spite of my protest, how to harvest crops from the unbroken world...how to hide. I was great at hiding. We would play games where I would hide in the forest for days and father couldn't find me! It was in the woods where I truly learned how to play hide-and-seek with the beasts. Many ran from me, but the biggest one! The biggest one had horns higher than I could reach! It had three eyes and fangs as big as my arms with HUGE claws! It was so cool! It roared so loud it shook the trees and my own shriek barely made the grass quiver, though that was probably the wind. I wanted it to make the sound again, to stay and tell me what else it knew...but it just...left.
It was years later that I realized how they all leave... My father was my uncle, some madman who abandoned me in the woods time and time again to be eaten by the beasts who instigated my life. I learned this from an old man wandering the wastes when he found me over my uncle's corpse. Knife still in his hand and slashes across his arms and throat. The old man seemed to know him. More surprisingly, he knew me, told me how I was the child of the devil who killed dozens of those he loved. After an old word used to name the monster, the old man named me 'Luciel' before handing me a silver crucifix, saying that it would protect me. Truly, he did not care what became of me, or even himself from the look in his eyes. He simply lost too much to have a handle on his old life. I followed him for a distance with everything my arms could carry and whatever I could fit in uncle's backpack in spite of his shouts to leave him be or what books he threw at me.
I...just didn't want to be alone. Even if it meant being at a distance and hated. Weeks in, the man relented and taught me of the books he carried, the hope in the pages and its message for mankind and the mankind within me. He told me the truth of the world, and each syllable made me hate the man who had lied to me, stole me from my home and abandoned me in the woods countless times. The old man also taught me about forgiveness...and gratitude. Without the evil and sacrifice of one man, I would have been dead before my eyes even opened. Regardless of the decade that followed and my life before, the few weeks I spent with the old man made me feel a part of something, as though I belonged.
Shouting matches with beasts, my first kill to protect the man...I understood prayer and it saved me from what I had almost become. I never wanted to be lost to the madness that left me in fits of manic hysteria like some rabid animal. I learned that believing in something had more power than what the true 'nothing' could actually provide. So after my trials and seeing the man disappear into the waterfall of sanctuary from afar, the old questions stung for only the moment it took for me to swallow and steal my resolve and begin building a shelter.
Do I believe in God? No.
Humans are their own gods. Monsters only have demons. And I made my choice of which one I wanted to be.
The Fiend blood that runs through Luciel gave him an innate skill in dark magic, though through conviction and faith, the darkness was bent across its own spectrum of physical manipulation, giving birth to light magic. This light magic has few but powerful spells focused on mending and protecting. While Luciel wields these 'miracles', he is well aware of their origins. Demons bent the material plane to exact fear and devastation upon mankind in ways he seeks to undo through the base spell's understanding.
Luciel's most powerful and frequently casted spell. The translation roughly comes out as 'Loom'. The intent is to stitch organic matter back together by binding wounds with seemingly golden threads and imbuing flesh with radiant energy which forces the body to quickly heal wounds at speeds that can be visibly observed. Though the whole casting may take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute depending on the severity of the wound, this spell has the capability to mend bone and knit muscle together to the extent of potentially reattaching severed limbs. - This spell will not restore blood loss. - Only good for one wound at a time and requires both hands and concentration. - Can be used to mitigate damage from poison by forcing the victim's body to heal through the poison's effect until it is worked out of the body, naturally. This process can take a long time and is anything but pleasant. - Therapy from the spell can ease back pain and arthritis brought about by aging, but cannot cure cancer or other diseases that have reemerged and now limit the human life span.
A more diverse form of 'Repth' that is less focused, though the general nature grants surprising benefits. Translated as 'Inspire'. The expelled energy finds its way into nearby targets in a burst to swiftly boost metabolism with the buffer of magic, granting a significant hike to stamina, endurance and strength. While a side effect enhances the body's natural healing process, this is hardly enough to matter in the heat of combat. - Good for moral as it temporarily sates fatigue. - Requires both hands to channel and for targets to remain within 30ft for full effect. - Doesn't so much bolster strength as it does allow fighters to put everything into every swing with little recovery.
A self-defense spell which vaguely translates to 'Burden'. While will and spirit can carry a heart as far as legs wish, the spell is the closest to the darkness that Luciel dares to venture. The spell causes natural acids to build up in muscles at an alarming rate by hindering muscle's metabolism rates. The effect quickly tires victims and subjects them to cramps from continued strenuous activity such as running or fighting. The spell cannot be made fatal, and its result heavily depends on the actions of the afflicted. - Can be cast with one hand, allowing two targets at once. - Accumulation of amino acids in muscles cause targets to tire 5-10 times as fast. This does not target the heart or lungs but simply persists through concentration until canceled or the target collapses from their muscles simply failing to hold them up any longer. - Luciel takes no pleasure in the use of the spell, and it is used mainly in self defense to dissuade pursuers or attackers. - Highly ineffective against ranged attackers who simply need to pull and release a bowstring. - Highly effective against attackers who need to get close with heavy armor and weapons. - Spell cannot be focused with both hands to increase the effect. The spell magically limits a bodily function, not reverse it. - Cancelling the spell in any way restores targets to the strength they had if normal exertion was factored in...though cramps can still hurt. - Hearty targets can resist the effect for longer. - Will probably just piss off greater demons.
Misc - Usually ignored by some demons such as Fiends which he has a...strange...understanding with, even though they're regarded as one of the more vicious and merciless of beasts.
-Unarmed save for a blunt dagger he uses to harvest wild produce as well as an 'ancient' silver crucifix passed down in his family...and tough antlers, horns, an array of sharp teeth and claws (assuming he lets them grow).
BIOGRAPHY He grew up on the northern monastery of the Golden Claws. It is a post apocalyptic human settlement which guards the human occupied lands of the south from northern demonic invasions. For years, since the demons stopped their invasion, there was quiet. All they had to take care of was the occasional demon which tried to pass the border or attempted to pass as a civilian. So you can't really blame them for being unprepared and overwhelmed when a sudden demon attack obliterated the whole monastery. Everyone was killed. Young and old, master and student, no one was spared from the slaughter. They could easily defend against battalions of demon foot soldiers but the thing that attacked them, that monstrosity was never seen before and the fact that it sprung up from the ground, like it was buried there for centuries and had just awoken didn't make the defending any easier.
Numenor was the only one to survive. Now his mission is to travel south, informing any and every settlement along the way of what is to come. They have to know, they have to prepare for the hell fire that is to come...
In his human form, Adam stands at 5'7" with light brown hair and lovely green eyes. His skin in this form is a nice pale.
In his demon form, Adam stands at 6'3" with white strands of hair and crimson red eyes. His skin in this form is ghostly white. He has scales coming out of his back where his spine is, and claws on the ends of his hands.
The spell magically stops a bodily function, not reverse it.
Personality - She keeps to herself since she has no experience outside of her family, she could be cold at time, if only for her lack of social skills. Aya would love friends and maybe loyal to them, however, she could only speculate.
Bio- Ayailla was raised by her human mother, Alana, who self exiled herself from her clan when Aya was born. This action saved her daughters life, who would have been killed if she had stayed any longer. Together with Ayailla's father the small family roamed the ruins of civilization and survived. Even if the mother and father never have love for each other they made it work for the daughter.
Around the time Aya was 10 her father, Percy, had went hunting and never returned. Aya and her mother could only come to the conclusion that he had either ran into a full blown demon or a clan of humans that had the numbers to take him down. Aya's mother was sadden but did not let this hinder her from doing her job, surviving and providing some sort of future for her daughter. However, Aya took it pretty hard for a while but do to her her surrounding she wasn't able to hold on to her grief for too long.
As Ayailla grew so did her demon features, her tail and horns grew and red scales began to appeared throughout her body. She began to show the same abilities as her father, creating fire and being able to shape and manipulate it. She was becoming stronger as her demon blood began to take over, however, she never let herself believe she was a bad person just because her demon heritage. She instead used her never ending energy to help her mother and took on the responsibilities that her father had left behind.
When Aya grew into adult-hood, she had to say good bye to her mother as she was suddenly taken by sickness. She took only the things she needed and lft her former home behind, the only thing she had of her mothers was a locket she always loved.
Misc - has a locket that when open plays a lullaby, this was a gift from her mother, in side is a lock of her mothers hair tied in a blue bow. Lullaby
