So I actually went with a character inspired by good ol' Alec Holland, Swampy himself, here he is!

Current Location: Hope Springs, West Virginia
Sex: None, formerly male.
Race: Forest Creature, formerly white human.
Height: 7'0", formerly 6'2".

Age: 36
Birth Date: April 12
--------
Appearance:
Icon:
Public Personality: The Vine Stalker presents himself as a benevolent and yet withdrawn protector of both nature and humanity. He rarely even talks to humans, except to refute the insults of enemies. He is infuriated by damage done to the environment, and he is angered even more by attacks on people in his protection. He dislikes others interfering in his affairs, but is more than willing to work together with others if it is necessary to defend humanity and plant life. He has stated that humanity and plant life must co-exist if there is ever to be balance in the world.
Private Personality: Harris is deeply insecure, as he always has been, but this trait has been magnified tenfold since his transformation into the Vine Stalker, he believes that there are many others that could do the job far better than he ever could. His mask as nature's defender is simply to ensure he doesn't have to spend time amongst people, as he is deeply afraid of what he has become and what others would say about him. He truly wants to be a hero, even if he doesn't want to have all the credit that comes with it, and he would gladly lay down his life to protect both humanity and plant-life, which he considers equal due to his attunement to it. Harris is meek and quick to apologize, but tries to put on a brave face for those under his protection.
Super abilities:
-Skills:
»Biologist: Harris is a former cellular biologist, and is very skilled in that field, when provided with a microscope, he can easily manipulate bacterial cultures for whatever need there may be.
-Powers:
»Plant Manipulation: Harris has a deep attunement to plant life, and can manipulate it in any way he desires, and, due to his body being mostly plant matter, this extends to himself as well. This allows Harris to grow plants as weapons, clone himself, regenerate from most any wound, grow wings to allow for flight, and cause massive devastation by creating a massive number of plants in any given area.
»Insectoid Exoskeleton: An extension of his plant-based abilities, Harris coats himself in an insect-like exoskeleton made of hardened plant matter to protect himself from injury. This can be shed to allow his body greater mobility, or retained to allow improved defense.
»Plant Destruction: Another extension of his plant manipulation, Harris can destroy plants in a fiery explosion, though this is dangerous to himself as well.
»Photosynthesis: As long as Harris is within sunlight, he can survive indefinitely, fueling himself through sunlight. When not in sunlight, he is weakened and can die if deprived of it for too long.
-Weaknesses:
»Fire: Exceptionally damaging to Harris, fire can also rob him of plant-life to use as weaponry, and burning him is the only way to reliably stop his regeneration.
»Verbal abuse: Harris is very insecure, and tossing abuse at him can lead to severe mental damage and distraction.
»Attack the Head: Harris' head is required for his regeneration, decapitation can kill him, and blunt force trauma to his head can cause just as much damage as it does to a normal human.
Biography---------
Character History/Origin: Harris Hertug was born in Amnesty Bay, Maine, a quaint port town, almost seated on the Canadian border, to fisherman Arthur Hertug and wife Patricia Leverman. From a young age, Harris took an interest in biology, long harboring a desire to figure out why life came to be, despite the odds against it. Harris excelled in school and moved from Amnesty Bay to a larger city to pursue an education in biology.
During his time on campus, he bore witness to a woman in hijab being assaulted by a group of older students, who screamed slurs at her and forcibly tore the hijab from her head. Despite his meek personality, Harris noticed that no-one else was stepping in and grabbed the nearest man to stop him. In the ensuing fight, Harris was brutally beaten, but he was rescued by campus security arriving. The woman offered her gratitude as she was taken to hospital, giving him a wide smile. In that instant, Harris decided that he wanted to help people, whether through his work in biology or otherwise.
Harris graduated and was hired at another college as a professor of cellular biology. For the next years, he spent his time teaching students and studying, constantly looking for a breakthrough. Harris tried to ignore the chaotic state of the world, and supported the government's position on masked vigilantes, believing the police were capable enough. Eventually, Harris discovered a lead on a form of bacteria only found in Florida's everglades, which some believed could serve as a cure for many forms of bacterial infection, replacing penicillin even! Excited by this opportunity, Harris traveled to Florida and adventured into the everglades.
Harris was never seen again.
Lost in the everglades and horrifically mauled by crocodiles, Harris gave up, and prepared himself for death, allowing the darkness to overcome him.
Surprisingly, he didn't die, but found himself changed, his limbs which had been devoured by crocodiles had grown back, but he was far taller, and he appeared to have transformed into a plant creature.
Harris didn't take this well.
He spent a long time soul-searching, but eventually went into a hallucinatory trance, during which he spoke to what he believed was the spirit of Earth itself, who told him he was the plant elemental, and Earth's protector. Finally emerging in Hope Springs, West Virginia, Harris offered himself as the small mining town's protector, deciding to begin his campaign to protect the world here, as a form of beta-test. He would give it his all, eventually realizing that he was becoming one of the very vigilantes he condemned, but the people trusted him, believed in him, and there was no greater feeling.
