Mayor Gallant September 10th, 2019 during an emergency press conference at city hall.
Approval rating for the mayor had never been high, yet he always seemed to win the re-election for office. Eleven years he'd been in power for, since the 2008 elections. The police standing around the conference had their backs turned again, there was no respect for the mayor he was just a corporate pawn. Yet, like the police force both seemed to be owned by the corporations. It was a bad year for the corporate - Detriot Police. Budget cuts, investigations from Federal agencies. The force was toeing the line, with the shooting of Rashaq Demiri - a seventeen year old music student of color, two officers saw themselves in a Federal Civil Rights investigation. The shooting was a month before the riots broke out, no one could of seen it coming sooner.
Internal Affairs seemed to easing up though, being the department rat was never a glorious job for those that were selected by the mega corporation council. The group of companies that owned the police department - The Agency as it was referred to was allegedly composed of various mega corps - or smaller corps forming into mega corps. All that corporate lingo seemed to ring the ears of many cops, as brainacs tried to explain the very complex and headache inducing system and jargon to those who were interested in trying to learn who their masters were. For most, not knowing your boss is terrifying. You'll never know who you'll piss off and how it'll come back to bite you, especially in this world where playing for keeps is the first rule of the streets.
At least you aren't a beat cop anymore or a detective stuck picking between a dozen corpses and red tape. You're part of a new unit, the Mayor's unit. The newest and most hated unit on the force. It's about mid-day when you're called in for a transfer to a "New investigative unit". Whether it was your day off, mid patrol or investigation you're now in the central precinct of Detroit. The chief's house, all the brass seem to be around and the station is packed. Arrested, injured and other cops. You spot a few uniforms that stand out - Michigan State Troopers, Michigan National Guard (most soldiers are in their exosuits.) and of course the cheap black suits - The FBI.
While wading through the hordes of people, you make your way to a secluded prep room. Used for each shift, it's been cleared out for bigger chairs and desks. Only the best for the mayor's people, right? On the other side sits a few other people, one wears a DPD uniform while the rest don't.
This will be a long day.
South Precinct - The southest most station, sitting in the slums it's constantly under attack by gangs. Now that the crime wave hit, the south was the hardest hit. National Guard are currently fighting off those who try to take the station, with the help of DPD they are surviving. For now the south is a combat zone.
West Precinct - To the west, refugees from outside Detroit. Something is definitely going on outside, while efforts outside the city hinder West Precinct's ability to work the area around the west is relatively calm.
North Precinct - Communication is spotty with the North, the last thing heard from the station was that they were fortifying. Something about Canadians and no traffic from the North. Runners have been reluctant to head back up there, citing monsters and abominations roam the northern most part of town.
East Precinct - Currently reinforcing the south and maintaining a tight cordon on their sector. Reports of yellow rot have been reported, citizens are being screened by Detroit General Hospital personell while CDC officials arrive. If they ever do.
Central Precinct - The administration station that supplements all the other stations in the City. Housing the chief, the main departments, payroll and the sorts. The sector is relatively peaceful. Other local government buildings such as the mayors office is nearby.
City Hall - Housing the mayor and other local government services, the City Hall sits a block away from Central.
Meaford's Mead - Sitting in the south district is a quiet bar, it dosen't get alot of traffic but is a common watering hole for cops.
Detroit General Hospital - Sitting on the east side this hospital is one of the biggest hospitals in Detroit.
Windham West Medical - On the west side of town sits the private hospital owned by the Windham family, the family runs a medical mega-corp out of Canada.

- CS drive will be run for 1-2 weeks, this is not running on a first come first serve basis.
- When the GM makes decisions please respect them as they are final
- Obey guild rules, or the god-emperor was known as Hank may appear. Mercy is unheard of.
- Any OOC Drama should be dealt with off thread, in PMs or whatever medium that isn't the IC/OOC/CHAR
- CS are to be posted in OOC, or PMed to me. If you have any requests or questions about your character and want to speak so in private.
- Post at least once per week, or you'll be dropped.
- If you are away or unable to post, please let us know.
- One char per player
- Don't god mod/power game or l'll eat you.
- Realistic and semi-realistic (concept art, drawn etc) are allowed. No anime, or it's the bricks for you.
-Do not post in the CS unless you have been approved to post.
- Avoid cliche, your character isn't flawless - far from it.
- Don't omit something in your backstory and bring it in to the rp later on.
- We won't be taking anyone under the IC age of 18.
- The more cybernetics you have the more prone you are to going into cyber-psychosis, essentially seeing others as threats (humans) and trying to murder them. That's when you get PKed, having a few augs is fine but know when enough is enough or you'll die.
- Death is common in these mean streets, try to play smart. That being said, if you die you'll likely stay dead.
- Damage is realistic and medicine is advanced, that being said a quikkstimm wont save you if you got shot a dozen times by Ricky's cylinder shotgun.
- Be mindful of your characters weight and carrying weight. You wont be carrying 10 rifles on you, even if you're augged.
- Characters can have backgrounds in State and Federal agencies but they must be actually working for DPD.
