Cassie forcdd Moe into a bath, wrestling with him to settle him in it, getting just as wet as him. "Why do you always end up soaking me too?" She sighed, changing into dry clothes, and heading back out to the kitchen.

Roxy enjoyed the quiet. She knew it wouldn't last. After the team rested they were going to be busy. She was down to five knives. And only three of them were good for throwing. She was going to have to find a way to get some more weapons.

Cassie started to bake some bread, working quickly. There were several tins of soup, so she got them out and while the bed was cooking, and after making sure theybwere all the same soup, poured them all into a big pot, letting is shimmer.

After a while, Ruslan wakes up fully refreshed. He starts walking around, exploring the area, as he always does with new areas.

Katherin was enjoying the smell of bread and soup. She pictured their odd little group gathered around a table laughing and talking like a normal family. Katherin liked the picture, but knew such a scene was impossible. Everyone but Liz would be up soon. They would eat a quick meal before going back to the business of survival.

After minutes of walking curiously and looking around for nothing in particular, Ruslan finally reaches the house's balcony. He looks at the cars going down the streets, and realizes that the other team members are his only friends he's still in contact with since the massive manhunt.

Before that day, Ruslan used to be a racer, a street racer, which is why he's very good at shaking off pursuers. He even made it to some low-level racing series, and that's where his friends are. At this young age, he should've been still racing and on his way to higher-level, better-paid series. However, it all changed when Andrew watched Ruslan's last race of the season out of pure chance, thereby revealing to him about the powers Ruslan possessed. Since then, he has always been on the run. He didn't get to move to the higher series the following season because he failed to turn up to sign the contract he has been offered since a week before.

Now, Ruslan gives an empty look at the scenery, wondering where are his friends now, where do they race, whether they'll still recognise each other, and whether he can get his peace back and return into racing.

Cody watched them all. He sighed. Everyone hD lost something, what had they gained? Weeks, months, years on the run. But he looked around at them all. To him, he had gained so much more. He stood, and said in a soft but carrying voice "we are going to win"

"Win what?" Katherin asked curiously. She wondered what they all fought for. The lives the others had before were gone. There was no going back. No matter how things ended with the battles ahead, they would all have to create a new future. And doing so was never an easy thing.

"This. Win the right to live our lives how we want" Cody said

"For some that is a possibility." Katherin agreed. She hadn't really thought about life after. For her life would always be the same. There was no hope for more or better then what she currently had. Still the others had the possiblity bright futures. And that was worth fighting for.

"For all of us!" Cody said, "just because you constantly see anything but the preset doesn't mean you can't have a life"

Katherin tilted her head. Surprised by his anger."Yea because a job and relationship is possible for a someone who can only see the future. I know what is likely to happen Cody you do not. My life will never be normal in any way. Even if we again freedom from the government I will be caged."

"Because you have never been taught to control it! All powers can be control" Cody said, "you just have to know howl

"Control isn't the issue. Although being able to see will definitely open more possibilities. " Katherin shook her head. She tried to explain the possibilities she had seen." I don't exist to most of the world. There are few records of my existence. I don't have any education. Control of my ability to see the future only opens so many possibilities."

"And hacking and creating records ooens the rest" cody said, "its easy"

"The truth is Cody, I am scared." Katherin said wrapping her arms around her knees. "There is a good chance that gaining control of my ability will leave me blind. Right now I could survive on my own if I had to. But if I was truly blind I would have to depend on others to survive."

"You have liz now" Cody said, "and you have us too. Family isn't just about blood, do you think any of us would be here without each other?" Cody shrugged "the important thing is to not let fear rule your life"

"Aren't you sweet." Katherin said with a smile. "Everyone is eager to return to the life they once had. Those lives do not include each other. I don't think they realize that yet. Liz dreams of returning to the hone she has always known and becoming a doctor. Ruslan dreams of returning to racing. Cassie will one day be chief of police. They pathes they seek dont intersect."

"Haven't I told you before" Cassie said, entering the room. She had flour on her shirt, and had brushed her hands off on her pants, what she had commonly did when her mother and her had baked bread, "that the future isn't set it stone. I don't think I could return to government work after this. And technically, I'd be in a lot of trouble for leaving the job in anycase without warning"

"And the life I once had wasn't exactly pretty" Cody said, "a dark room with a mind controller. I can't remember life before that"

Katherin chuckled "Trust me Cassie you are destined to become someone important. Maybe even mayor. The government has already taken care of your unexplained disappearance. You could return to the police department the minute we have freedom. While the future isn't set in stone I can see many pathes leading up you a leadership position. And Cody your past only opens more doors. You are going have an amazing future once you chose a road to travel on. Neither of you have anything to fear most of the pathes open to you are wonderful."
