    Standing at 5’3” with charcoal-colored hair and bright chartreuse eyes, Shiori is pretty ordinary – though what she lacks for in appearance she makes up a tenfold in her expressiveness and personality. Being a first year at Ishin High is a daunting task and while it may not be ranked first in the Hero Academy listings, it is pretty close in the runnings so Shiori has not wasted any time or energy in preparing her applications. Always smiling and giving an amicable thumbs up, Shiori lifts the spirits of those around her and even though her presence can be overwhelming with endless optimism she never falters; almost like the smile is as much for her as it is for others around her.

    Initially believed to be as generalized as Solar Empowerment, Shiori’s superhuman abilities happen to actually be the result of the Photosynthetic Blood that runs in her body; making the young teenager not too far off from the plants that her mother tends to tirelessly in the family garden. This has allowed Shiori to store large amounts of energy to various effects, though most blame it for her extremely hyperactive and excitable nature. However, the effects of converting light energy into chemical energy has more applications than simply giving Shiori an excess of conventional energy. This extends to the transformation of the energy given from her blood’s chemical makeup to augment her body in various fashions, though she’s not quite sure how to perfectly maneuver and utilize the energy she is given in a productive, efficient manner at this point in time.

    With that said, the weaknesses are pretty much dependent on how good she is at storing solar energy, which she is blatantly not. If Shiori was to push herself to her limits on “half a tank” she would not have a long time before she fell unconscious in the midst of battle; a poor conclusion when fighting and training, indeed. The added side effect to bees trying to pollinate her if she has a paper-cut does not help either.

C A P A B I L I T I E S

    Shiori’s body is athletic, allowing her to maximize speed and lessen fatigue from exerting herself. Shiori’s mother, Hanae Kanemaru, was relentless in how she raised Shiori. Being a superheroine herself, Hanae knew the challenges Shiori would have to face if in the likely chance a quirk was to manifest in her and so prepared to teach her how to be “ready” as well as instill a hard working ethic in her when she came of age. As such Shiori has decent physical stamina as a result of her mother’s “optional lessons” to prepare her for the exams to get into Ishin High – a school supposedly nearly as difficult as U.A. High to get accepted into.

C H A R A C T E R G O A L S

    Shiori is a hard-working female character with a moderate quirk that allows her to be dangerous with the right amount of character development and plot precedence. The goal for her is to play off characters and make decisions based on those interactions; she’s not cold and introspective like many of my characters so this is room for me to do something different for a change. As a character that finds good in everyone and is largely optimistic it will be interesting to break down her world as I go into her backstory; specifically that with her father, Bloodstone, a supervillain whom she knows very little about due to her mother raising her alone. The revelation of Bloodstone being her father will be world-ending for Shiori and I feel like it’ll be a great moment as she stands oblivious and confused in the heat of the moment in the midst of conflict; her friends having to save her before she loses her life at that moment. Shiori can be the comedic relief, one of the main protagonists, the tragic death – the options are pretty much open for her and I just want the chance to write the character.

    Per Shiori’s perspective her ultimate goal is to live up to her mother’s legacy and expectations, though personally she doesn’t care about being the “top hero”. She’d much rather be content with being one of the greats rather than the greatest around. It’s not that hoping to be the greatest isn’t realistic but more that she doesn’t have the same drive as others; a fact evident in her choice of hero academy.

    Always taller than most boys his age, Shun is big in all respects. Heavier, taller and darker skinned due to growing up on Okinawa, he sticks out like a sore thumb this far north. His dark brown hair is occasionally gelled up into a pompadour, and he walks around wearing a dumb grin on his face. Constantly wearing relaxed shirts and shorts, it’s a humorous sight to see him shivering as he walks outside between classes. But, as he says, ”The clothes are just part of who I am!”

    Many believe Shun’s quirk is based around simply charging up energy, but it’s a little more than that. Engine Rev is simply Shun’s ability to store up kinetic energy, then release said kinetic energy any way he pleases. While he can do damage with his quirk, Shun’s greatest weakness is both in his physicality (out of shape) and in his ability to store the energy. It can take up to three minutes for Shun to charge up his quirk, leaving him both open to counter attack and incapable of performing a rescue. However when he releases his kinetic energy, he is capable of both extreme speed and strength.

    Shun is a brilliant gearhead and can tear apart most small electronics and vehicles if left to his own devices. As far as his own physical abilities, Shun has fallen behind throughout his school years. His attitude has always been focused on taking it easy and relaxing, which has stunted his potential physical growth. He also lacks any sort of great stamina, rendering long applications of his kinetic charge weak. Shun is also a master around a barbeque, in case anyone gets hungry out there in the snow.

    Shun is a fun, relaxed and laidback character, and is meant to be an antithesis to the shonen protagonists that are so popular in the genre (and that I tend to roleplay all the time). Shun is relatively weak compared to his other classmates, and has only made it this far due to his quirk’s abilities. The goal is to follow this lazy character that in any other medium be a background or punchline character and show how even someone like him can develop into an excellent hero.

    At around 5'6", Namie grew a little too fast for her body to catch up and appears deceptively leaner than she should be. The telltale signs of that is the impressive muscle definition that Namie manages to get when she flexes. Her natural lighter brown hair has an impressive length reaching her rear end but she usually keeps her air up in a pigtails. Her wardrobe and general presentation of herself is relatively laid back with variations clothes that an athlete would wear: team shirts and jackets, running shorts or tights, and so on.

    Specialized glands under the skin turn viscous fiber into a maple syrup-like liquid that can secreted from the body. The user of this Quirk can mentally alter the state of matter this substance is in by altering the temperature, making it warmer to turn into a gas and colder to turn into a solid. The boiling and freezing points are relatively low in energy requirements as in, in order for the for the user to turn the liquid into a gas, one just has to think about the liquid getting warmer until it reaches around 100 *F and for the solid around 20*F. The user can alter the temperature at their best so long as the substance is touching them and may struggle with temperature altering when the substance is away from their body. It isn't impossible to manipulate the state of matter of the substance away from the person but requires great concentration to achieve the almost telepathic thought with severely ramping difficult with distant from the substance (a feat Namie struggles with presently). The substance in all forms is noted to be quite dense, sinking to the bottom of a glass of water in both solid and liquid states. The user of this Quirk must maintain a high fiber diet and overuse of their Quirk will result in extreme dietary fiber loss. Low fiber in the body means that they will have horrid bowel activities and can even risk some more severe consequences of too much Quirk use.

    Namie has maintained a very healthy amount of athletic activities such as team sports, swimming, and weight training. Although not the biggest, strongest, or most standout Quirk, she still did very well in the psychical tests. Most of Namie's experience with fighting comes from petty sport squabbles, usually due to a bit of stubbornness or self-importance on Namie's part as losing wasn't ever her intent. Outside of a few school yard brawls, Namie hasn't had any opportunity for proper training, leaving her rough around the edges.

C H A R A C T E R G O A L S

    Namie is a person of high ambition but believes she is capable of achieving that ambition. She was given a quite versatile Quirk as part of making her capable in her own way but I plan on making her not creative enough to utilize the full versatility of said Quirk. Thus the aim is that Namie will have to work alongside others to discover not only creative Quirk applications but also to discover a bit more about herself. She hasn't really learned to work well alongside others. This is due, in part, to her past where her father had to travel around Japan a lot for work, often moving him and Namie around the country. Namie never really had time to fit in anywhere and make lasting friendships. Her selection of Ishin is in part due to her internal desire to finally be rooted long enough to make friends but mainly due to wanting to very capable as a hero.

    Another character arc that I'd like to explore is the reason why Namie wants to be a hero. Her father works in the civil department, using his Quirk to help with rebuilding and building roads. Namie's mother passed away early in Namie's life so she never really got to know her and even though her father is quite reserved about talking about Namie's mother, she knows that her mother was a hero. This creates the ambition to use her mother's power to do her memory proud. Along the way, discovery of what actually happened to Namie's mother could reveal a potential antagonist or anything the overall story might profit from.

    Ume stands at the above average height of 5'4", her pale white skin constantly adorned in the comfortable wears of hoodies, sweat-attire, and jeans. Rarely will you see the teen found in anything that shows skin below the nape of her neck, with even her hands bundled up in latex or other close-fitting gloves. A white mouth-mask and some simple neck jewelry usually finish off this bizarre look, creating a cozy suit that the young lady dons everyday in order to feel more comfortable with her own skin.

    Ume's eyes shine a light blue color above all of this, however. Such bright orbs commonly twinkle by the girl's turquoise-colored hair, a welcome side-effect of her quirk's ability. Ume's mane of hair is more often than not tied back into a ponytail or two behind her head, giving the girl a subtle tone of feminity under all of her gear.

    Ume's skin is able to secrete a hormone that, when released, can reactivate the internal processes of nearby dead skin cells and cause them to collect into basic, geometric objects. Yeah, she can make walls of dead skin. Creepy, right?

    Ume's body produces such a substance in the tissues of her outer-skin layer; scratching her skin will release a bout of the hormone. Depending on how long she scratches, Ume can release more or less of her hormone. The more hormone she disperses, the larger the objects she can construct. Ume's quirk has a range of about 50 meters, attracting reactivated dead skin cells together with an almost magnetic-like force in a radius around her. However, Ume can only form objects from the cells if they are within 20 meters of herself; if they are too far, she will have to wait as they fly and collect towards her. The dead skin cells are formed into a dense, chalky substance when activated; their texture is much like worn brick. Dead skin cells can also be reactivated and attached to living skin cells, giving Ume the ability to create momentary growths on her or other people's body. She cannot form these growths inside a person; only on the outer layer of skin. Any skin that is completely covered by clothing or the likes cannot be affected. Currently, Ume is only able to activate cells and keep them shaped for around five seconds at a time. Afterwards, the cells will not be able to be activated again, and will flake off into the air.

    This versatile power comes with some drawbacks, however. The more hormone Ume releases, the more hormone her body will produce; the more hormone her body produces, the more energy and stamina is sapped from her body. Though this process allows the girl to release hormone faster over a short period of time, it can also quickly run Ume's stamina completely dry if not regulated. Additionally, Ume cannot directly control the amount of hormone she produces, but instead must not scratch her skin for a varying period of time after releasing the hormone to allow her body to naturally tone down the production of the substance. Aswell, she cannot manipulate the hormone after it is secreted; Thus, if she were to accidentally scratch herself, Ume would unintentionally cause nearby dead skin cells to form into a random basic shape. She could not stop this from happening after she's initiated the hormone. The final drawbacks are much more physical; the production of Ume's hormone causes her skin to be excessively itchy, red, and peeling at all times. The most prominent places for this reaction are all around her torso, arms, hands, legs, and the immediate area around the mouth. Luckily, Ume's face and neck have been spared. Furthermore, the girl's hair has turned into a greenish-turquoise color through exposure to Ume's hormone.

    Ume scratches her skin for 2 seconds: She can create a 1 meter by 1 meter wall, with no symptoms afterwards. Hormone production will return to normal after four seconds of not scratching.

    Ume scratches her skin for 4 seconds: She can create a 3 meter by 1 meter wall, with no symptoms afterwards. Hormone production will return to normal after six seconds of not scratching.

    Ume scratches her skin for 6 seconds: She can create a 5 meter by 1 meter wall, with slight dizziness afterwards. Hormone production will return to normal after eight seconds of not scratching.

    Ume scratches her skin for 8 seconds: She can create a 7 meter by 1 meter wall, with increased dizziness and a slight headache afterwards. Hormone production will return to normal after ten seconds of not scratching.

    (Symptoms/abilities will continue to stack as Ume continues to release her hormone without letting her body recuperate. Symptoms will most likely refrain after hormone production is returned to normal, unless a sizable amount of Ume's stamina has been used.)

C A P A B I L I T I E S

    Through years of living with the side-effects of her quirk, Ume has learned quite a bit about the medical side of skin-care. Her own experiences regarding her condition have caused Ume to be proficient in the treatment of surface cuts, bruises, peelings, and burns. Furthermore, Ume commonly brings a satchel along with her filled with ointments, bandages, and the likes. So if you ever need an on-call skin-care doctor, you know your girl.

    Aswell, Ume has been known to be a rather talented ameture at sketching and the art of drawing. She has an uncanny knack for remembering faces, and has currently been practicing the anatomy of the human body. She has a ways to go, but it's a hobby the young lady finds peace and some rather calmful pride in.

    Finally, Ume is proficient in the composition of electronic music, namely in the genres of Lofi and Chill Jazz. She has currently published two albums that are available online (Rusted Colors and Too Many Days), and is known to have an eloquent and somewhat practiced singing voice.

C H A R A C T E R G O A L S

    My goals and envisioned implications for Ume rely heavily on her character development and progression. Story-wise, Ume will be a rather self-fearing young girl dressed in the disguise of a confident Tomboy. Through her disgust of her own quirk, the negative effects it has on her body, and the over-all pessimistic self-image she harbors for herself, Ume will enter Ishin Academy with little of the ambitious and carefree spirit that many of the more excited students may portray. However, she has entered the Academy because of the dimming hope that the structure of the 2nd best hero school will be able to change her; lest this be for better or for worst. Ume's growth will ideally be that of unraveling and exploring herself along with the youth of Ishin, slowly becoming able to attune herself with who she is, and who she can be. The rigorous training of Ishin Academy can be a catalyst for this growth, as well as the students who surround her.

    Furthermore, I believe the endeavor to morph Ume's strife into strength could very well be mutual. The bonds she forms with her classmates as she evolves can be a scenario that strengthens not only Ume's personality, but others in turn. This can be exemplified when the darker sides of her classmates are revealed to Ume; her deep-felt empathy could be a welcoming and sincere point of development and plot for both characters.

    Regardless, there are a lot of ways Ume could sway based on the turns of the plot. The occurrences and emotions she encounters in her progression can be influential, and can change the way she develops recognition of her purpose. All-and-all, Ume is a complex, emotionally tangled character that has expansive room to grow and change. She'll have a very long way to becoming a hero, but the situations that flourish from her rising to the occassion can be interesting nonetheless.

    Kazuo is roughly 5'4" tall with a lean, but muscular physique. Contrary to what many would believe based on his quirk his body is not built like a tank. It is built compact, efficient muscle mass, strength and mobility. Most at a first glance probably wouldn't expect him to be a bit scrawnier at a first glance. This is because of his choice of clothing. It is typically form fitting, though a bit on the baggier side for comfort and mobility. His hair is dark brown, bordering black, and almost always worn in the same seemingly styled, unkempt manner. Pulling his look together is his eyes, which are a dulled yellow usually set to express and calm or bored demeanor even if he generally wear's a smile and rarely a scowl.

    Kazuo’s power stems from his Internal Furnace which is a flame located within the abdominal area, somewhere around the stomach. As a result his core body temperature is higher than the average person’s, giving him heightened resistance to varying hot and cold temperatures, though this does not equate to immunity. It also imbues him with superhuman strength and heightened durability. At base level he can lift up to 4 tons and take powerful blows and falls from heights of at least 5 stories with no real trouble. Kazuo’s strength and durability seem to grow exponentially, and to seemingly limitless heights, depending on his mental and physical state. Even so, this supposedly limitless strength comes with a price. The power is extremely difficult to control and furthermore seems to have a strong connection to the Kazuo’s mental state, which in turn brings about various side effects.

    This quirk is a double edged sword. For example, Kazuo’s abilities may be amplified or weakened depending on his emotional state. The more determined, angry, happy, etc. he gets the stronger the flame burns. As the flame burns brighter and stronger the user's strength, and durability increases, but in addition to that, he also begins to grow hotter. His body will rise in temperature adding more power to his strikes and he may even experience abilities akin to pyrokinetics. Still, eventually his skin will become hot to the touch, and small bursts of flame will sprout along his body until eventually he is set ablaze in his entirety. The heat may go to his head making him dizzy or it may possibly even cause him to pass out.

    Should he manage to keep conscious, Kazuo will be exposed to even worse dangers. The flame will continue to grow and will likely go out of control and "eat" him alive. On the other hand, even getting depressed or some other form of negative emotion will weaken the flame. In this case Kazuo may experience cold like symptoms, fevers, shivering, and fainting spells. Thus, he must remain in complete control, at least to a certain degree, at all times.

C A P A B I L I T I E S

    Kazuo is a naturally gifted combatant and fights primarily while moving on instinct. That was likely why his father began training him to fight at such a young age. While he does not have the same resources as some individuals, being the son of a cop he did receive fairly good training from “the old man,” as he calls him, in Taiho Jutsu. However, he also attempted to branch out beyond the reach of his father's controlling hands. He incorporates Karate into his fighting along with Savate, although it should be stressed this is self taught. He has basic understanding of police procedure and the laws of his society, which helps him know how to bend the rules just enough not to break them. He’s intelligent for sure, which he takes advantage of, as most people hear about his quirk and assume he’s your basic muscle head. He’s a pretty good cook from years of watching and helping his mom, but sometimes the food he makes tends to take a turn from normal to a bit more on the spicy side.

C H A R A C T E R G O A L S

    The goal behind Kazuo’s creation is to take a play around with some of the usual themes that make a hero and a shounen protagonist. Some of the basic tropes include dead parental figures, a never ending drive to become the best, and a lack of brain power in anything other than combat. Kazuo is a character who still has both of his parents, though they are separated. He respects and loves both of them, but for different reasons and to different degrees. They are both present in his life and influence his growth and the decisions he makes in different ways. He does have the drive to get better, but he does not suffer from the tunnel vision so many characters like him suffer from. His goals are not delegated to fulfill a single purpose. Additionally, he uses his mind as much as he can because of some of the adverse side effects that come with his power.

    Still, Kazuo is torn in his life. His mother is supportive, but his father isn’t much a fan of heroes. He believes such work should be left to police and if they want to fight crime they should join the police. Because of this Kazuo wants to prove the worth of a hero to his father, but at the end of the day he just wants the man’s respect and an expression of pride. He is also afraid of his own strength, of his own emotion. He fears hurting somebody if he can’t control it properly, especially given the volatile nature of his quirk when faced with powerful emotion. Honestly, I think Kazuo has the making of a good character, even if he’s used more for support than as a front runner.

    And I think playing him would be both fun and interesting. He has to change and move past his indecision and petty feelings. It’s simple growth growth in theory, but if I can manage to do it right he could be a fun and interesting character to have around.

    Noboru is a short boy whose stature belies an imperious presence; he barely reaches 153cm, but everything from his posture to his expression, and even to his hairstyle are suggestive of a lion. As a result, it’s often said that he has a Napoleonic complex. It should be noted that he actually does, but those who say such a fact to his face would also come to learn that he possesses a well-developed physique, a pair of well-worn knuckles, and a skillset well-suited for “taking down people trying to catch these hands”, as it were. Generally though, he isn’t out to look for a fight--even if the cocky look in his maroon eyes makes him seem like he deserves to get in one. Other notable facets of his appearance include his mop of blonde hair, which is always slicked back, and his style of dress, which is the variety commonly associated with edge lord teenagers trying to look cool and features many long coats, hoods and collars in various combinations.

    Noboru’s Quirk is known by the name of Forcefield, and bears a largely self-evident function: the creation and manipulation of forcefields. These forcefields begin as a small mote of light that quickly expands into an ultrathin plane of solidified energy, either shaped into simple two-dimensional Euclidean geometries or used to construct three-dimensional structures via interlocking fields. They also radiate a red light at approximately the same intensity as a glow stick. At his current level, Noboru can create forcefields within six centimeters of his body, manipulate and sustain forcefields within three meters, project approximately three square meters of forcefield total, and reach a durability equal to steel. He cannot yet alter what the forcefield allows through and what it does not. Attempting to surpass his limitations without proper training will result in onset of migraines and the associated signs and symptoms; however, simply breaking a forcefield has no effect.

    Noboru bears a well-rounded array of natural talents that have contributed to his almost effortless success throughout life, his complacency, and his subsequent frustration with hard work. He is the dilettante who is notable in all aspects, but not dedicated to reaching the realm of mastery--relatively speaking, at least. Of course, that isn’t to say he’s been completely coasting on his talents; he’s only been mostly coasting on his talents.

    Without formal training or any sort of dedicated practice, Noboru’s most notable capabilities tend to come from his time as the delinquent protector-cum-benevolent dictator of his middle school’s student body. Many days spent duking it out with bullies, challengers, and other delinquents have granted him no small degree of combat experience and environmental awareness, and have laid the foundations of a rudimentary fighting style incorporating his Quirk. In addition, he displays a surprising proficiency at handling administrative duties. In his own words: “It’s not as if I can entrust these duties to anyone but myself. Besides, it’s only natural that a hero know how to lead the people in times of need.”

    Peter is short and scrawny, standing exactly five feet tall. Other than that, he's more on the average side of american teen,

    He keeps his clothes nice and clean, and his dirt-blonde hair combed...ish. He easily succumbs to cold weather,
    so he bundles himself up in warm clothing whenever he goes out during the winter. Comfortable hoody? Check. Winter pants?
    Check. Stompy boots? Check. Woolen scarf? Check. And most important of all of course, fluffy mittens? Oh, scrum, not check!

    Peter's quirk, Free Image, had split his visual and physical selfs into two entities. Peter himself is fully invisible, along with anything he wears or holds. Anything that would normally be seen is projected upon his visual self, who he named "Mirror". For example, if he were to pick up a pencil, though the pencil itself is fully functional and carried by Peter, it would be invisible. Mirror, however, would then have an incorpreal pencil. Mirror, though fully incorpreal, obeys the laws of physics just as Peter would. He cannot move through physical objects (he swims through water as normal, just does not displace the water), is affected by gravity, and cannot do any physical feats that Peter himself wouldn't be able to do. While Mirror can be pushed by people or objects, he does not put up any physical resistance against the force and is not felt.

    Mirror, though Peter's visual image, is actually a seperate entity and somewhat sentient, though with the mental capacity of Peter if he weren't paying attention (such as while texting). While he cannot directly interact with physical objects, he can interact with the visual versions of whatever Peter is holding seperately from what Peter himself is doing. Along with his own consciousness, Mirror appears to be able to feel both visual and physical versions of objects, and will react as if hurt to something like a cut or burn.

    Though seperate and with his own sentience, Peter can mentally give Mirror commands which he carries out in his own way. Mirror's energy level is directly related to how much energy Peter himself has, and nothing Mirror does tires himself or Peter out.

C A P A B I L I T I E S

    Peter has a passion for always learning new things, but only by doing things himself. He finds little interest in being taught. However, while curiosities of all kind capture him, he has an especial interest towards fuana, and has studied much about animals. If it weren't for his parents', and now the school's, rules against flooding the halls with all kinds of animals, he'd have his very own zoo. But as it is, all he has is an ant farm, a couple goldfish, a gerbil, a hamster, a mouse, and a gazillion posters. Luckily, animals seem to like him just as much as he likes them.

    Peter also hates doing things in normal or straightforward ways, much preferring to think up creative and clever solutions to simple problems, and even more creative and clever solutions to complicated problems. His out-of-the-box planning has often ended up putting him into many scrapes, but it has put him through many more enjoyable experiences, some of which even had a life lesson that he kind of maybe payed a little bit of attention to.

B A C K G R O U N D

    Peter does not have much interest in actually becoming a hero. However, his father (a great American superhero) had high expectations for Peter as his only child. Though his father wasn't as restrictive or stern as some, it was just an unargueable assumption in the family that Peter would follow in his father's footsteps in becoming a fighter of supervillains by participating in a highschool designed specifically for that. Eagle University of Young Heroes, situated right in their home town of Seattle, Washington. Yet, Peter much prefered socializing and enjoying himself. Fighting crime was not the way he wished to achieve glory, and the fact that his father would be sitting on their own front lawn, judging every move he made didn't help.

    He knew there was no way out of heroism, but that didn't mean there was no way out from under his father's watchful eye. He researched and learned about an overseas school for heroes which accepted students from all over the world. While it seemed rather strict, Ishen Academy did have a very good reputation for training excellent heroes, and didn't specialize so heavily on crime fighting in comparison to EUYH. At least, not as far as he could tell. With how prestigious the Japanese school was, it wasn't too difficult for Peter to convince his father to allow him to enroll there. Oh, the great hero he would learn to be!

    ...Is what his father was thinking. All Peter could think of was what great people he was to meet, what great experiences were to be had! Who knew what lay awaiting!

    It's been over a year since I last participated in a play-by-post RPG, but I've always loved playing them. My hope is to have a pretty easy but enjoyable character to play to dip my toes back into the storybook roleplaying scene. To enjoy writing a story along with others once again! I've been really enjoying My Hero Academia, so this looks like an excellent RP for that. I don't want to pressure myself too much with some deep backstory for my character to come from, or some great goal for them to achieve, both him and I are along for the ride. Character interaction and helping others with their goals. At least at the start; at some future point, once I've gotten back in the groove, it'd be great to have my character take the spotlight and have an important story arc. Maybe a switch from having little interest in becoming a hero, to a deep reason to be one...

    Isabelle is rather tall for her age, ranging somewhere between 5'8 and 5'10(she hasn't taken the time to check recently), with a frizzy cascade of dark brown hair that she often styles so it billows down over the left side of her face. Her warm chocolate brown eyes compliment the dark caramel-like coloration of her skin tone, echoing much of her mother's appearance, though you could see a bit of her father in the angular nature of her face and the slight almond shape to her eyes. As far as body structure goes, Isabelle is well built due to both a constant an somewhat intensive training regimine and a general love for exercise and sports. She is a bit on the leaner side, however, due to the energy demands of her quirk leaving little room for much excesses of fat, making her muscles look fairly defined for her age. This side effect has also led to her having a rather small bust that, while rather helpful in combat situation, often made her the target of no small degree of jokes from some of her crueler female peers, along with her above average height.

    When it comes to her choice of clothes, it often depends on the situation she is preparing for. When it comes to more casual affairs, such as going for a walk around the city or laying about the house, she often wears plain, loose-fitting clothes in an attempt to stand out as little as possible, as well as a distinct preference for comfort over any sense of style and fashion. If she's prepping for any kind of exercising, training, or intense activity, then she switches up to tight, unrestrictive athletic-wear such as shorts, tank-tops, and the like, with her hero training wear having an emphasis as showing as much skin as decently possible so that she can use her quirk without risking the destruction of her outfit. She also makes an effort to tie her hair behind her head, so as to keep it out of her face and enable her an unhindered field of vision.

    Quirk: Dual Anima
    Isabelle's quirk is one of the stranger ones in that it's not simply an ability to her, nor just an odd biological that she has grown to live with. Her quirk also constitutes as two of her closest, most loyal friends and confidants, allies that have been by her side since the very beginning of her life on earth. With Dual Anima, Isabelle is able to summon two sentient beings from an ever shifting tattoo-like tapestry of red and black that dances upon her skin, each with it's own distinct style and personality to them that also reflects a bit of Isabelle's own nature.

    Akira stands for Isabelle's more passionate and headstrong side, having a short temper that can be easy to ignite and little patients for fools. Akira's base form, similar in shape to a Panther but with much more pronounced and dangerous looking claws and fangs, is composed of a bright crimson energy that seemed to glow with such intensity, almost as if it could burn you with a mere touch. Alas, while Akira bears no innate powers over fire, she could very well be a representation of it's destructive power and ability to quickly spread devastation all around, as speed and power are the traits that Akira prizes the most about herself. With a quick and savage barrage of rending claws that was often followed by an evasive leap away makes her great for hit and run tactics to harrass and slowly weaken a foe.

    Isabelle's other ally is Noir, a gentle soul the represents Isabelle's determination and strong will to become her own hero. As his name would suggest, Noir is made entirely out of a strange black mist-like energy. While Akira is swift and vicious, Noir is imposing and stoic, the bulwark that helps to defend Isabelle from danger and provide much needed support in her weaker moments. While his form bears a greater appearance to a burly scaled reptile, to say that he is cold-blooded would be a very inaccurate observation. While his stoic and unbending personality is an example of her strong sense of will externalized, with his skill lying in not only withstanding punishment but giving it back twice as strong, he also tends to be in touch with the girl's more tender and compassionate side, leading him to be the more friendly of her beasts.

    Both Akira and Noir have very unstable forms, which lead them to waste a good amount the energy that they gain from Isabelle, which causes them to emit an uncomfertable amount of heat when manifested, and is one of the main reasons why she is unable to often hold their full manifestations for very long. Isabelle has been working on increasing the efficiency of her manifestations and continues to do so, as not only will it increase the amount of time she can manifest her Anima, but it will also increase their overall strength and durability.

    In combat, Akira and Noir assist Isabelle in two ways. First, she can choose to only manifest parts of them instead of their full bodies, with the proportions of said parts being very changeable due to them being completely made out of energy. This offers her a great deal of enhanced mobility as she's able to move about the battlefield in a variety of ways with their assistance. They also help to diversify her CQC by adding in extra attacks of their own in time with her own attacks, as well as offering up a solid defense as well. While far from unbreakable, this combo makes for a very versatile and hard to predict quirk that keeps her foes guessing.

    The other way that her loyal companions help her in a fight is that they can both separately manifest in their full base form outside of her body, adding another dimension to their ability to combo off each others capabilities, greatly increasing their effective combat ability. You see, unlike some other quirks, Isabelle's quirk comes with a severe drain on her body's energy reserves. As such, she can't simply use them willy nilly as others do, lest she burn herself out. In a normal fight, her reserves can last her, at her current level, anywhere from 10-15 minutes if she simply uses base manifestations, or half that if she fully manifests either one(or both) of her companions to fight by her side. This makes it so that she needs to focus on quickly taking down her foes, as a long and drawn out confrontation will only ever work against, which also makes her bad in situations where she has to face multiple foes or those with quirks that can easily stall her out.

    Another way that full manifestation is dangerous for Isabelle is that in order for Akira/Noir to deform, she needs to touch them. If someone where to trap one or both of them while fully manifested, then it'd simple be a waiting game till she passes out from exhaustion to claim victory. Not only that, but Akira and Noir do not deform even when she looses consciousness, nor do they cease in draining her energy, so if they aren't allowed back to her side soon after she passes out, then her body would soon start to rapidly self-cannibalize itself in order to continue providing energy for, leading to severe internal damages and even death.

C A P A B I L I T I E S

    Isabelle has spent her entire life training with her Father, a hero known simply as Sidestep by the public, in how to be a hero as it had been her goal ever since she was little. However, while it would be wrong to say she had been 'slacking' before, an event that took place 2 years prior added the necessary motivation for her to start taking her dream much more seriously and coming at it with everything she could, and then some more after that. As a result, she is a adept combatant for her age, with a style that focuses on redirecting her opponents attacks in order to create openings for Akira and/or Noir to attack from an unpredictable direction.

    Aside from fighting, she's a well-rounded athlete, having played a little bit of everything, though she finds her greatest joy outside of being a hero is that of scoring a winning shot in a heated game of basketball. She's also a bit of an avid outdoorsy-type, a trait she gets from her mother, always eager to go out and rough it in the wilderness. In her more quiet moments, however, she tends to be a reader of fiction, preferring things set in more realistic settings, but also being a bit of a sucker for romance stories, even the cheesy ones.

    Her skills in academics are well above average, though this is more due to her taking to her school work with the same dogged sense of determination and drive as she does her father's training sessions then any natural academic talent, though she does struggle a bit in understanding higher level math. She also has an interest in Zoology, both for it's benefits to her quirk and her own love and interest in animals.

C H A R A C T E R G O A L S

    I have quite a few goals with Isabelle, none of them being that much more important than the other, i feel, as each one helps not only build her up in my mind, but also motivates me to further working on her, wanting to discover more and more about her through my writings of her. One such goal is getting more in touch with my own racial identity since I realized that I just don't make that many characters of color, not just because I don't feel like it or that trying to find faceclaims for black characters in anime rps that actually look black is by and large an infuriating task(though that is part of it) but because I'm kind of hung up on my own distance from my black heritage and kind of fear it. As such, with Isabelle and a few other characters, I'm hoping to change that a bit. That doesn't mean I'll make a focus on her 'black' traits, as that's not the main point or drive of her character, just one of the facets that make her what she is and not a really major one either, but I feel it helps me find a better mind state.

    Next is the story I want to tell with Isabelle. At first, I wished to have her discover the darker, grittier side of American Heroism, as well as current heroism in general, and have her be cynical and cold to it all. However, now I'm looking instead to have her story being one of constant struggle against one's own weaknesses in order to improve and become more complete individuals, as well as dealing with the aftermath of losing a friend to their pain and despair when you had the chance, but not the strength, to help them. For Isabelle, her weakness isn't in her combat skills, which are in fact her crutch in this scenario, but in her ability to socialize with others and properly convey her feelings and emotions. While not currently aware of this struggle, having grown to see these things as distractions from her ultimate goal of strength(and beyond that strength, the desire to find and save her friend from the darkness he's found himself in), Issabelle needs to come to learn that even she needs to accept and let other people in, and that before she can help anyone with their problems, she needs to learn to help herself.

    Another thing I want to explore with Isabelle is having a poor self-body image, as well as general anxiety of sorts, as Isabelle was often bullied by girls in school for being too tomboy-ish, too tall, and when she grew up, for having a small chest, for not dressing up, and for simply being different then what others expected her to be. Despite having two supportive parents, Isabelle has grown to be very self-conscious of herself, and copes with it by trying to hide herself from the world and sink into the background, which inly served to make for a bigger target by those around her.

    Her fears and paranoia, of being strangely different, of being ugly, and having little self worth, are things she often keeps locked up inside of her, and while at first it was hidden behind a shy, easily cowed facade, now she only seems to stare at everyone with a distance, uninterested glare, a sign of how much the pain of a close friend's betrayal has made it so she refuses to connect with others. A frigid ice queen, she is actually terrified by the fact that she's so far from home, staying with her aunt in a strange land where she now can't help but feel as if she stands out a bit. It's as if all of her fears have been given life, and whether or not it's true or not, she feels the eyes of everyone always on her, always watching, always waiting for her to show them a single shred of weakness to tear into.

    Nadeshiko is quite average for somebody of her age and ethnicity, standing at five foot four inches in height. Her body is comprised entirely of a semitransparent pink gel that forms itself into the shape of an averagely proportioned female of her age, not particularly muscular in appearance nor overly skinny. As such, her 'skin' is an entirely unblemished membrane of glossy goo that remains soft and supple to the touch unless she wills it otherwise. Her 'hair', styled largely by choice, hangs neatly around shoulder level in strands of ropey goo that mimic whatever cut is particularly popular at the time, so long as it does not interfere with her work. Large, lighter than normal eyes peer shyly from beneath these tendrils of slime, often avoiding the gazes of others. Her hair frames a face that, either by her own machinations or simple luck, remains explicitly ‘cute’, with soft, delicate lines, a small button like nose and pouty lips.

    Nadeshiko’s quirk, aptly named Gelatinany is a Mutation that has converted her entire body into a malleable, semi-elastic gel. Though she retains human characteristics in her normal everyday life, she is capable of manipulating the shape of her body at will to conform to whatever task she needs. For instance, she may sink down into a puddle to slide under a door, or stretch herself into a large circular sheet to act as a safety net. Though still amateurish at it, she is also capable of manipulating the properties of her jelly like form, making herself more or less solid, increasing or decreasing her elasticity, causing herself to become sticky or very slick, and various other unexplored effects.

    Her goo is a very insulative substance, especially effective at deadening electricity. This gives her an advantage against quirks utilizing it. Conversely, this also weakens her against quirks involving high quantities of heat, as her body traps the energy in and it, for lack of s better term, causes her to “melt” and have difficulty keeping herself solidified. As she lacks any traditional organs, she is highly resistant to conventional damage. Indeed, the only way to truly ‘injure’ her as far as she knows, is to either remove portions of her gel like body or otherwise destroy them, causing her to shrink down in size and strength more and more until she is incapacitated or otherwise entirely dispersed. Traditional medicine is also ineffective in treating her, as only reintroducing separated sections, or introducing her to fluids to absorb allow her to regenerate her body. Orange juice is especially effective at this.

    As an introverted individual, Nadeshiko is an avid reader with a strong memory. She is a veritable encyclopedia of trivial knowledge and mundane facts on a variety of topics, including an uncomfortable number of romance novella.

    She is a very strong swimmer, both because of her physiology and from many a summer spent at Lake Biwa. She was the best member of the swim team at her Junior High and takes great joy in the hobby.


C H A R A C T E R G O A L S

    Nadeshiko is much like her quirk would lead one to believe; malleable. The child of a would-be hero scorned in the days of academia and consigned to the 'shameful' fate of mundane police work, she has been groomed from early on as a vicarious second chance at life. Given little autonomy or say in how her life has gone, Nadeshiko is a reluctant character who is merely pursuing heroism at the behest of an overbearing parent. It is there that her primary arc focus lay; becoming her own person and evolving from a silent wallflower to somebody with more backbone... Despite actually lacking a literal spine.

    Sub-developments include earning a newfound respect for the idea of heroics. Rather than merely chasing the glory of a big bust, or being a renown hero of great wealth as she has been shepherded to crave, her more kindly side seeks to take joy in merely helping those in need. Her character archetype is more supportive than anything else, leading her to focus more upon rescuing the victims of a burning building over combating the villain who started it.

    That supportive nature should ideally extend to her peers. Achieving friendships with students willing to break her from her shell and give her the shove out of her complacent ways is another goal, with her providing emotional support for their endeavors in return due to her empathetic and non judgemental traits.

    Midori Kinzokuma’s quirk has always direct and straight to the point, much like the person herself. Born with the innate ability to manipulate and bend metal to her every whim, Midori has what is now known as ferrokinetic bones thus allowing her to manipulate and expand metal as long as she is directly touching it – though the durability of the metal decreases with each expansion. To make the most out of this quirk Midori has become sort of a craftsman, forging metal weapons and armor to prepare for the most out of any situation and so it is properly reinforced. If her crafted armor is extremely damaged it may take her days to properly repair it.
