The afternoon sky was clear and the air was pleasantly warm. Yoko had already finished her club activities and was waiting, leaning on the Kagamino City High School gates, quietly sipping her can of Jasmine Tea she got from the school vending machine. She was waiting for her roommate and friend, Yumi to finish her own club activities. Yoko was used to idle afternoons like this. She enjoyed them. She used to revel in challenge, be it fighting or mentally. Now she preferred the boring human life but as long as she's among humans, she knows, she can be a magnet for danger.
She closed her eyes trying to make sure there was nothing dangerous around. She'd made it a point to memorize the regular reishi patterns in the area so she could easily detect any Hollows nearby. It wasn't as hard for her to find them after she left the Soul Society anyways. It usually sticks out like a sore thumb but there was something she noticed in the last few days. There would be a split moment that she would vaguely detect Hollow reishi but it would vanish as soon as it popped up and she would only sense it if she was focused. It was so insignificant and fleeting she could never pinpoint it. She was starting to think it might just be someone like her. Maybe even one of the ones she left with checking up on her while making poor attempts to completely hide. Either way it didn't matter much to her. If it didn't disrupt her human life or anyone in it she wouldn't try to kill it.
It was quiet. Not even chatter from the students in clubs. Yoko peered around the corner in the school and spotted Yumi trying to sneak up on her. “Nice try. Almost would have worked. I wasn't paying attention so might have worked if it wasn't so quite.” Yoko said with a smirk as she pushed off the wall. She threw her bag over her shoulder and faced the disappointed strawberry blonde. “You ready to go?”
