I've often contemplated using posting rate requirements, but it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth, eepecially considering how the original The Faraway Land ended. I'm not convinced yet that it's necessary.

Well, I was thinking about it. But I guess I can't really blame others when they can't make it. I'm certain everyone here is devoted and trying.
That being said, maybe we should put a rate on there, even if it is just to remind us all that we could post.

I still can't help feeling like I made a mess of things. The story is a jumbled mess, and I don't know what to do with all the player characters.
* How do I give Ravadon opportunities to actually be heroic, and possibly deconstruct that?
* How do I challenge powerful characters like Edward and Reaper?
* How do I convey days/years worth of training for Kiera?
* I NEED TO BRING GRACE IN HERE! A brief timeskip is needed for communication between nations to be plausible, but we're nowhere near that point.
* The king is too weak. Why should anyone do what he asks?
* Why should the characters rescue the princesses from a dragon who they know is on our side?
* How do I link everything to the problem of the Voids?

1. You're fine.
2. By letting him do what makes him heroic: Questing
3. By taking away power and or making even more powerfull villains that remain hidden and send menacing henchmen towards the two (menace while they quest/reasons for quests)
4. Training montage! => (A couple months pass, in this time, please state how your characters have spent their time, but talk it over with the GM first.)
5. Ehh.. well.. The flow of time is not something that always mixes and matches everything together nicely... O.o But then again, a second and or third problem/distraction can give other plotpoints time to develop.
6. Weak king. Compared to what? Weak financially? Weak emotionally? Does he not have a list of "close friends that owe him a favor or 42" or is he physically weakened? O.o
7. They don't know that actually. I'm certain it won't take another bodyscorching to convince ravadon the dragon did something bad to him. A prophecy, a doomsayer, a magazine(with the dragons dirty laundry in it) in the hands of the right person...

Well lets not go down route 3. If anything scaling back power and/or Power scaling isn't the best idea. Right now we have seen somewhat the highend of the scale here when it comes to power. The moment you drop a dragon into the game that kinda auto makes it powerful on the high end. As far as the reaper goes, well it is suppose to be agus of life and death so we have it for more or less revives should it call for it, besides something like that should stick around too much because as a strong creature, a well know strong creature, they tend to lure in things that PCs can't handle (Powerscaling see DBZ/GT) so it makes since that the reaper play quest giver/information dropper when needed or is around when the PCs need them.
As far as Edward is concerned, Power Scaling back ins't the idea. I mean look at him right now, he can't change form *Not going to drop a spoiler here* unless he can get enough energy in reserve or...that happens. Sure right now he might stand out as the power house of the group which is fine, at this point he is muilty roling as Tank/DPS when needed but he is lazy about it. Joking and more or less screwing around because he is coping with the fact that well he can't be himself because of wounds that happened a long time ago.
As far as going to see the overgrown Salamander well if we are talking about story one could argue that there might be something in his home that the PCs need. (Edward just wants to hit him really hard) For atomicnut's PC I could imagine that the Salamander's home is really the main Tara-forming machine that need the Salamander knows he needs to get to and fix thus there is his reason. The Reaper might want to just get things stable again and find out what is bugging the Salamander so much. Samdragonx PC, well he is looking for Glory, and what more honor and or Glory can be gained from A: Fighting a dragon and living to tell the tale (Win lose, who cares you fought a god damned dragon and lived) and bring back the ladies of the kingdom, which in its self should be enough to get him a nice title and set of land. As for the Paladin, its not hard to guess that some one like that is more or less believing in the will of the gods thinking its right that such a beast shouldn't live/has done wrong. Who knows the Immortal council seem to be seen as the gods of this realm so go with it. (As for Atomicnut's PC he might know the Immortal council as something else, his bosses perhaps/co-workers?)
The story has many turns that it can take, meanwhile the Void is always a threat at any time a portal to such unstable energies could be opened by anyone or anything. There might be a group or perhaps person (hinting at Edward creature here Thin. *Wink wink*) who wants to restart this project because he believes something went wrong). Mayhaps its something else all together that might happen. Other countries might of figured out Mid-haven's tech is beyond what they have and want to for their own so WAR is a thing that might happen. While WAR can happen, its more then likely going to a Shadow War of sorts, something handled in the dark. Spies have always been weapons and thus they can be anyone anywhere at anytime. And thanks to magic information gathering and sending/reserving is a lot quicker then one thinks.
Now it might be the 191% Everclear in my system talking but I say move them out, consult with someone on the story and work together to get it a sodo line ready for the story that PCs are following, even if by following they trudge their own path. You need an end goal that gaps the start and finish. Once you get the finish in mind the rest can be added into the between as needed. If you need help I am here for ya, (Steam/Discord/Battle.net) so if you want help with the story then by all mean hit me up. For some reason I don't get writers block and I love just throwing ideas out for these kinds of stories. (Beats waiting for WoW/Starcraft II lines)

Scaling of power is fine. With "a city leveling dragon" being the very top of power you could hope to reach.
The reaper should be around, certainly, but said reaper shouldn't steal the spotlight. Hence, he can be used for supplies, directions,...
We can all have reason to see the salamander again several times. We could even make our quest about finding him.
"Excuse me, sir. We brought a clerk and are looking for a Big Red dragon that can destroy cities and randomly knows peoples names and marks their hands with a mark just like this. ... No, we don't know what's in your pit of doom but we could take a look for some gold and a bed to sleep in?"
"Excuse me, sir. We are looking for an ancient dragon that might know of old technological burial grounds?"
"Excuse me, sir. We're lookin for a Dragon of about..... This..... big. I need to talk to him about his emotions. Have you seen him? ... sir, no I'm not here to claim your soul. Sir, why are you running? ... sir... *defeated sigh*"
To give some helpful insight, Ravadon has some questions:
"Why mark me when I cower away from the honor/glory/pride of fighting?"
"Why put me through something hurtful like the mark?"
"Why attack a city and steal their pretty princess?"
"How did you know my name? I didn't even say it yet that loudly."
"Why do you seem to know Edward?"
"What's your side of the story in relation to the reaper as this is something I'm planning on asking the the reaper first."
The reaper should be around, certainly, but said reaper shouldn't steal the spotlight. Hence, he can be used for supplies, directions,...
Edward multi-rolling as DPS & Tank is not 'fine'.
In case this strikes you as unappropriately rude to say, let me further examplify what I'm refering to by comparing all characters using:
- Analyses.
- (First impressions/thoughts that come to mind)
Ravadons abilities are 2-handedness, A singing sword that can coat itself in tree or something (Currently MIA, replaced by Gladius) and being sexy around fruits and veggies.(some usefull some silly)
Ravadons weaknessess include pride, seeking false honor, bad vision in his left eye, sleepy temper and overconfidence.
(some annoying and some silly)
Isabella's abilities are an earthen sword that listens only to her that can split any ground, knowing every crevice in Dragan and has some connections via her royal birth-right. (Pretty weak when on sand, pretty OP when on top of a tower)
Isabella's weaknessess include stubborness with frustration over failure & coldheartedness. (The former can be fatal, the later can be lived with)
Kiera has got healing powers, daggers and some poisons. (advanced healing: Limbs get re-attached, blind can see again!, poisons that could stop a heart by chance?)
Kiera's weaknesses include Naive, absent-minded, spiteful, vain and selfish. (And so, only HER limbs shall get attached again!)
Sykes abilities include ancient system access key, learning new languages, learning new info, can use guns, bows and knifes, tracks things, being fit, can be stealthy, gets access to "google maps" from eagles eye view. (woohoo, high tech/ancient tech and plot advancements!)
Sykes weaknesses are being cynical, jaded, detachment from events at large, Considering all races that aren't human his servants, grief and emotional strain. (the troubled reality-detached "Purist?" engineer that can get reckless if you find his triggers... no springs attached.)
Grace is a greatsword swinger, that is currently multi-classing as level 1 mage, can tell when someone is lying, but not pin it down specifically. All in all strong, but struggling without real weaponry and armour. (As if she's trying to make up for multi-classing)
Grace's weaknesses include being brainwashed into serving her church, doubting her upbringing and loyalties, can't smuggle weapons when she's disguised and being self-depricating.
And then, there's Edward. (Whose Bio I'm reading off of page 10 in the OOC in stead of from the character tab, by the way.)
The armorless person that needs no armor because he has scales.
The weaponless person that needs no weapons due to his claws. Unless it is convenient for him to use weapons or shielding.
He has a strange fighting style. (<= though any person could ask themselves what that actually means.)
He can use Ice magic and basically "the light side of The Force".
(Seems to indicate to me that he means to fight a "unique" mixture of drunken style kung-fu that is also going to be used to throw enemies off guard and then hit them with and icey magic ray that freezes them before "overwhelming dragon might force push" destroys them all instantly.)
Edwards flaws:
He doesn't know what's going on, bad attitude, lazy and thus doesn't show his strength unless on the battlefield, walks into the enemies camp and asks them what's for dinner.
EDIT: He can't undo his monster-dragon-state and has a thing that can happen when it does/could.

B. Can be defined better than "Bad attitude". What's bad about it? Is he sassy all the time? Doesn't he eat with his mouth closed?
C. Lazyness towards fighting unless the battlefield is nearby doesn't sound like a real characterflaw. There's plenty of others that don't seem active unless they are on a battlefield. Generally, these are patrolling guards.
D. Its an obvious move, sounds like it's dumb and could get him into trouble. But, i find it hard to refer to this as being his "flaw"

B) Undefined and thus exploitable
C) General truth about people

Now, I'm not saying you're a bad writer. I'm not saying I envy you or your character. I'm not saying that you were being unfair, pulling fanfiction out of a hat or anything like that.
What I am saying right now, is that if I take your character and pit him up against any of the others, be it one or either, be they completely nude, equiped with one weapon or completely geared up, I don't see any way or means by which they could ever end in anything close to a stalemate with Edward. Let alone ever come out on top of the guy.
I think we can both agree that such a thing is OP when compared to the rest of the party. And in this case, the fantasy world.
Now, an OP character wouldn't pose that big of a problem, if it weren't the idea that he was the fantasy equivalent of superman in a party of "pretty commoners".
I use this comparison to hint at why your character shouldn't be playing DPS and tank at the same time:
What's left for the rest of the party to do? Serve and tend to the OP heroes needs of the story? Unlocking new ways for the hero to smite the enemies he faces?... For me, this question seems harder to answer.
DPS + Tank (Which according to your charactersheet can also do Magic Per Second & monk fist) are the most important roles/the only needed in a world of fantasy, if powerful enough.
Speaking of the power...
Why can Edward reach the ceiling of power?
Example:
=> Talking back loudly to the great dragon that levels cities with a morning stroll and challenging him to a fight convinced he will win.
Problem:
=> Ravadon, (who is the specified proud/vain trillalla-talks too much incarnate,) gets humbled and tries to skip one of such powerlevels.
It shows unspoken fearlessness(as in, the only way to find out about it is trying to read in between the lines of your charactersheet).
It shows disconnect from the world (as in, either your character has to be oblivious to the fact that he could be destroyed instantly which should have been added to your charactersheet or he's such an Apex Predator that human life is beneath him because he could end it all in an OP fashion of literal mass consumption).
I have a hard time picturing where the progression is in your character? Does he stop walking into enemy camps? Does he get OP beyond siege weaponry?
The reason for that is that Edward really hasn't tanked anything. Being swung at with a sword seemed not to have the least effect on him, how much less should we expect from a spear? an axe? a mace? The entire royal army for that matter?
Edwards "OP levels of awesome" can steal away spotlight moments, will seems out of place when compared to the rest of the cast, will get even more stronger and requires all the seven dragonballs to be gathered as the 24 moons align in order for him to be vulnerable again.
Also, he can eat all he want and never grow fat.
I can tell by the way you write about him and his actions that you like him and I don't want to take your character away from you. But as a good writers saying goes: "Kill your darlings"
I can't help but fear for his future and personal tolerance for the way he is handled.
Needles to say, you needeth change anything yet if you don't feel like it. I would just suggest you to take this into consideration the next time Edward gets a chance to shine in his strengths or is challenged in his weakness.

What's left for the rest of the party to do? Serve and tend to the OP heroes needs of the story? Unlocking new ways for the hero to smite the enemies he faces?... For me, this question seems harder to answer.
DPS + Tank (Which according to your charactersheet can also do Magic Per Second & monk fist) are the most important roles/the only needed in a world of fantasy, if powerful enough.
Speaking of the power...
Why can Edward reach the ceiling of power?
Example:
=> Talking back loudly to the great dragon that levels cities with a morning stroll and challenging him to a fight convinced he will win.
Problem:
=> Ravadon, (who is the specified proud/vain trillalla-talks too much incarnate,) gets humbled and tries to skip one of such powerlevels.
It shows unspoken fearlessness(as in, the only way to find out about it is trying to read in between the lines of your charactersheet).
It shows disconnect from the world (as in, either your character has to be oblivious to the fact that he could be destroyed instantly which should have been added to your charactersheet or he's such an Apex Predator that human life is beneath him because he could end it all in an OP fashion of literal mass consumption).
I have a hard time picturing where the progression is in your character? Does he stop walking into enemy camps? Does he get OP beyond siege weaponry?
The reason for that is that Edward really hasn't tanked anything. Being swung at with a sword seemed not to have the least effect on him, how much less should we expect from a spear? an axe? a mace? The entire royal army for that matter?
Edwards "OP levels of awesome" can steal away spotlight moments, will seems out of place when compared to the rest of the cast, will get even more stronger and requires all the seven dragonballs to be gathered as the 24 moons align in order for him to be vulnerable again.
Also, he can eat all he want and never grow fat.
I can tell by the way you write about him and his actions that you like him and I don't want to take your character away from you. But as a good writers saying goes: "Kill your darlings"
I can't help but fear for his future and personal tolerance for the way he is handled.
Needles to say, you needeth change anything yet if you don't feel like it. I would just suggest you to take this into consideration the next time Edward gets a chance to shine in his strengths or is challenged in his weakness.
We can all have reason to see the salamander again several times. We could even make our quest about finding him.
"Excuse me, sir. We brought a clerk and are looking for a Big Red dragon that can destroy cities and randomly knows peoples names and marks their hands with a mark just like this. ... No, we don't know what's in your pit of doom but we could take a look for some gold and a bed to sleep in?"
"Excuse me, sir. We are looking for an ancient dragon that might know of old technological burial grounds?"
"Excuse me, sir. We're lookin for a Dragon of about..... This..... big. I need to talk to him about his emotions. Have you seen him? ... sir, no I'm not here to claim your soul. Sir, why are you running? ... sir... *defeated sigh*"
To give some helpful insight, Ravadon has some questions:
"Why mark me when I cower away from the honor/glory/pride of fighting?"
"Why put me through something hurtful like the mark?"
"Why attack a city and steal their pretty princess?"
"How did you know my name? I didn't even say it yet that loudly."
"Why do you seem to know Edward?"
"What's your side of the story in relation to the reaper as this is something I'm planning on asking the the reaper first."

Well reading between the lines has always been my thing. After all I am the one who rants "Devils in the Details." Then again, I suppose you have many points by which some need answers others where/are meant to come out as the story progresses.
Answering in no real order but going to over some insight as best I can here.
0.9: While yes I do like him, he was more or less a carry over from a different character of the same name and kind from a different story of the same surname as this story.
1: Eating problem: Well think about things on a more biological stand point. What he is means he eats a lot, having been out for a while does tend to make one quite hungry, added to it his current size doesn't help much when it comes to eating, at this point he would of put on some pounds that's for sure. While the eating might come off as odd it's more or less him trying to restore energy. (Then again, I won't lie might of embellished how much he really ate >.>)
5: "Bad Attitude" while reading straight out yes, that is very blunt and means only one thing. Then again refer to his interactions with the Salamander and Reaper, not so much bad attitude more on the lines of 'being rude'. Being honest it should read Ill Mannered which I suppose is his one gripe. To him this is one sick joke that he is forced to go along with and 'coping' by joking and more or less being rude. (You saw through me like glass here, it was more or less a read between because while yes he is ill mannered, he is showing little respect for people, eating the dead for starters.)
208: While he uses Ice schooling of Magic, this should alude to him being 'on the light side of the force'. This is suppose to be later in the story but I will drop a little bomb. Edward isn't the good guy here. (Will I could drop more but holding back because Thin said it was story related when we talked)
85435: Laziness: Oh this is a bad one but I feel I should explain a little. As you saw the Salamander though if him 'It seems he now resembles humanity in both stature and foolishness'. This has a double meaning behind it. Perhaps his laziness is just a guise word for not showing his true face or even acting like he should. (We keep in mind that these two know each other)
[I gave up on numbers]: I calmed Tank/DPS as muilty-Roling because he might be able to take a hit or two, he would fall more under the latter, that is DPS. Calming a dual-role was a bad move it was defense and a bad played one so I would like to make the amendment for current state: DPS. (Fair is fair and I take my lumps with wooden hammers plz)
[ufe]: Doesn't know whats going on: The orginal idea was for him to be clueless but that floped into its self. So I suppose right now it means he doesn't know whats going on in the world. More or less questioning internally 'what the hell is going on'. (But flopped on its face and going to be a pain to real that back in.
[.] Weakness: Well he does a quite a few, the Scales are strong, but blunt weapons can break them. He would be weak to what got him last time. (His own self dilution, being a Dragon his Ego is his real killer. {that and well being a Ice School user, obsessive amounts of heat in this form.)

@Darkwatck01 I was pretty sure Edward was supposed to be a good guy. His connection to the ______ was supposed to give him an avenue for internal conflict. I suppose I should have communicated that more clearly.
Additionally, his size is proportional to his power/mana and vice versa. He shouldn't be curb-stomping anybody in human form.

Well it makes since with connections to said ________ that he would be more on the line leaning. Right now it makes since in his mind to find _____ to return to his 'lord'.
And ya, curb stoping might be a thing, but he will have the same force of say a humanoid stranght to size. Given right Edword stands around 6' 8". Around 250 LBS. Assuming body mass total. We can assume he is more muscle but right now under weight. So around 190. (This is all before adding muscle weight mind you and the weight of his scales/scute if you like. So if I do some research I will have that for you. Starting time now after third Irish Carbomb, and two shots of Everclear.

Normal Weight in this 300 lbs. But currently he is around 240. Being under weight by 60 lbs. Sure he can take a hit or two, but ya. (Please note that this is more or less rough estiments because new years parties and my good friend 190% has my brain. But I can still think clearly.)

I still can't help feeling like I made a mess of things. The story is a jumbled mess, and I don't know what to do with all the player characters.
* How do I give Ravadon opportunities to actually be heroic, and possibly deconstruct that?
* How do I challenge powerful characters like Edward and Reaper?
* How do I convey days/years worth of training for Kiera?
* I NEED TO BRING GRACE IN HERE! A brief timeskip is needed for communication between nations to be plausible, but we're nowhere near that point.
* The king is too weak. Why should anyone do what he asks?
* Why should the characters rescue the princesses from a dragon who they know is on our side?
* How do I link everything to the problem of the Voids?
Help!
1-Create a fruit seller. With really big and juicy melons. Alternatively, make Ravadon choose between "looking cool" and "safety", as in, put him in a position where he cannot run away without losing face.
2-Infighting can also help. Or just strike them where they cannot do anything. Not all threats are dealt with swords, and not all solutions can be be magical. For example, human shields against Reaper.
3-Stranded-in-a-island-scenario?
4-Maybe the mark of the Hero reacts to some kind of fast travel method. And whose ultimate culprit is either Reaper or Sykes.
5-Pity? Or maybe the prospects of fame and fortune. Also he has a country's worth of an army, plus magicians at his side.
6-Sykes needs no reason to crack down on an a*****e who is wantomly destroying Empire property. Ravadon might be convinced with munneh. As for Edward we can probably question his courage and call him on a dare.
7-It's bloody obvious. Since a direct assault failed the first time, they're trying subversive methods instead of a direct fight. Maybe they have sleeper agents in the kingdoms already.

Considering all that... Maybe we could start by tying things together (by random chance...)
As in, mentioning events that do not necesarily have to do with the story this very moment or being very blunt about it. (Please bare with me as I demonstrate... >.< )
Also, @Thinslayer I took the liberty of assuming the reaper wants to be in the party. In the silent hopes that he will be there to help out on things we're probably too nooby to understand yet.
