Gratzi, I’m glad he’s good to go. To wander a few of our questions:

Yeah he most likely would be doing Rune inscription based enchanting. As his own spell selection is mainly limited to variant Transmutation Magic’s, he uses enchantment to achieve magic effects he himself can’t preform. For example he could create a sword that teleports to your hand, but he himself doesn’t know any teleportation it summoning magic.

As for their lands I had imagined that this would be the case, and I’m sure you k ow well that in the African continent their lands are rife with warlords and warring factions trying to take over the place. The only thing that differs my specifically brand f orcs and their empire is the fact that they do actually k ow a lot about the humans beyond the north, as the current Emperor is a half-Orc and so is my character. This actually plays a much more important part of their success and purpose in the grand scheme of things, as the empire is effectively taking over the southern continents while being funded/supported by their human allies and to endorse their interest. Basically it’s like the European colonization of Aftican but with a slightly more cordial relationship between a nondescript European nation of the African country they’re going to one day control. This, of course, is a conflict that my character will have to confront at some point in his life.

As for the wealth of the land, ills admt that not all areas are suitable for farming, it that does not mean they’re ill suited for life. They simply have a different sort of wildlife and foodstuff to grow. More importantly however the orcish lands are absolutely _rife_ with materials treasures such as gem stones, precious metals, and the like. One of the reasons that anyone would even bother to ally with the orcs beyond making them hired muscles is to access these rare materials.

Naturally so, that's actually WHY the african continent lacked major Empire based civilizations besides egypt for the most part is because the land was too erratic for sustainable farming patterns and the people of the land had to adopt a nomadic life style moving from location to location to farm fertile land and chase the migrating hunting grounds. Savannah are immensely unforgiving as they are quite literally the other extreme of the spectrum being the polar opposite of a tundra. It's also why the civilizations of ancient Africa were dubbed tribal because they would have to move in small cliques with certain exceptions of kingdoms that thrived on the coastal lines like the Swahili on the Swahili coast.

The aggressive conquerors from outside cultures also eradicated much of the oral tradition, which resulted in little history and mythology being passed on throughout the centuries which is why it's SO DANG HARD TO RESEARCH THIS MYTHOLOGY---

Ahem, anywho, yeah that being said they aren't uneducated or to be taken lightly. The southern continent is one of my favorite places to write and talk about cause I get to delve deep into what the culture would be like applied to a fantasy setting. There are Southerners in the northern continent as the sense of adventure and glory seeking is highly encouraged in the southern cultures. In fact one of my 5 heroes that I'll be writing a story for eventually is a Prince of one of the nomadic Clans there, based of specifically the Zulu culture, and left it behind to seek glory as a warrior taking up the greatest challenges of his people. He could have taken a boat to the north, but choose the path of the desert as it was the more difficult path. He ends up in a arena at the edge of the desert in Hag'dvad fighting gladiatorial combat where people are forced to fight and die for entertainment. He went in their voluntarily for fun, and joined the party in their breakout of their gladiatorial enslavement not because he wanted to leave but because that sounded hard to pull off so it had to be glorious. He sticks with them because they are on a quest to defeat a great foe and yeah glory of combat you get it. Really I do love his character he's basically the preemo combat bad ass. The let's punch the bear in the face guy.

Course I'm rambling again about things that don't really matter. SO here's an important bit, my requirement for enchanting is you have to know a spell to imbue an object with that spell. Rune weaving is more of a method of casting a spell, and rune enchanting is more of a light switch while normal enchanting is charge based. You provide the magic to make the magic work WHEN you want to use the magic in the item if it's a rune enchantment item, it glows and emits the properties in question. The Other method is always present but needs to be recharged eventually skyrim style. The third method that is about to be explored more is the best method where the magic is forever and becomes PART of the item not just an aspect of an outside force on the item. The third method taught by the master is a lot more like mixing paint, the item becomes like that as if it always were like that and the magic is just as much part of the item as the item is part of the magic. The other two methods are like paint jobs, they wash off. Runes are carved so are permanent, but if the rune is destroyed then the enchantment is lost as well. That being said good luck cleaving a magical item enough to ruin a rune enchantment so they are as good as permanent but need activation.

Hmm... so if the half-Orc is an enchanter, that means that he'll likely have the Rune Weaver as an assigned mentor...

Ohohoh. I'm *really* looking forwards to this.

I could see that, what with the offensive focus he has in his learnings. However, I think being able to transmute himself into living rock would be peculiar enough to fall under the purview of the Maiden of the Moon. Then again, it would be kind of hilarious to find out he's also been assigned to Mistress Lyvia's class with Isilfarrel...

Bah, the possibilities...

Still, that decision falls to the GM and his co-GM. All we can do is speculate, wait, and properly greet the new guy/girl/gender-neutral-term. Speaking of whom...

@Lucius Cypher Glad to make your acquaintance.

Wow man that's really bad assuming. No, an enchanter has the ENCHANTER class. Master Rovi.

Nice to meet ya. While I do intend to ensure my dood has combat application, I’m hoping his main purview is crafting magic objects and the like. A gadget hero sort to speak.

Well, I guess he and Garanin might get along, if the whole orc-dwarf hatred isn't present in this world.

Also, you sure seem to like Orcs, Luci...

Dat I do. Tis a reoccurring theme with me. And I certainly wouldn’t mind some interaction between us.

Speaking of which if I may receive some summary of recent events so that I may better transition myself, tis most appreciated.

I would like to point out that the Dwarves generally don't hate anyone and they are more like peeved that the other races are so stubborn in their ways. Dwarves in my world are formidable warriors and craftsman but do not seek war. They live in tandem with halflings and in co-existence with the gnomes. So like, that kinda sums up their attitude towards life as a culture I think. It's like Valhalla on earth.

Eat, Sing, Drink, Fight, repeat. Laugh in between.

As I am on desktop and not scrambling to recall details on my mobile device, I am much more capable of giving accurate information.

SO

Page 1 of the RP opens us up with the Orientation. We are introduced to Headmistress Miatri, the otters who tend to the books, and the Archmage Astioth. Only we're introduced to him as a painting, not in person. [At the time of writing, he has not made a physical appearance.] We are, however, told that it is quite possible to find him, and that he will be more than willing to share his knowledge with students. [A GM post focusing on Miatri later reveals the location of his office is up sixty flights of stairs.] Notable information we are exposed around this portion is that there is one copy of each book, destroying any of them will get you expelled, we are strongly discourage from bringing books into the baths [public style, available to males and females during clearly scheduled and alternating shifts], and that the Chef's name is Piero. We're also introduced to the rules of conduct for mage duels, as well as the arena.

Bah, running out of time on my end. Page 2 was when the announcement of the feast took place, as well as the feast itself. At the bottom of the page, the announcement of the mentors for the new students was made via parchement crow, and basically page 3 onwards has been building up to the first actual class held by said mentors. I apologize for skipping over describing the player interactions but those are basically the bare-bones bits of information in regards to what's happened.

And to add onto that soon we will go through a general summary of the orientation to the classes and be back to regular walking around and interaction since I don't want to like, do 10 pages of explaining all the magics. This is more of an intro to who you go to for what and where your assignments would be coming from. Sorry guys I've had a massive headache since this morning and haven't been on the computer all day.

Really that's rather appropriate seeing as he's a dark elf. He's conditioned on a social level to have a sense of keen superiority and if he's more or less a special ops soldier I expect him to be keeping an eye out for powerful tools or spells that he can exploit for those above him. Alternatively if he's not loyal, he'd likely be striving for more power for himself. So all in all I am completely ok with him maintaining a bored persona, but if you want to be sure to keep your hat in the ring you should probably post something on your general thoughts on your circumstance or something cause it's looking like some people are flaking out again and I may have to cull them out again, but honestly that's not bothering me too much cause this rp was only supposed to work in a small group like this. I hope Scarecrow is still here though I've seen 'em post in the OOC but the que has gone missed for a few days now. And I haven't heard of the tiefling or the combat mage either and that would be a shame to see the dark elf teacher have to hold his classes off screen.

I kinda regret having rune in her class alone, but not many restoration mages have even signed up.
