The moment
walked into the room, Jax stiffened. He looked around, his eyes resting on her for a few minutes. A stiff nod indicated that he was willing to take on her challenge, but the smile that came after made it quite clear he was intending to crush her. She issued her own smile before she heard Ophelia beside her. She turned looking at the note with apprehension, she didn't want her sister anywhere near that arena especially at one when the conclusion of her fight would be abundantly clear, "Surprise? What the hell. I would ignore it. It could be that dude from yesterday messing with you...Anyway, you should go ahead to class. I will head up there in a few minutes, I wanted to go talk to Professor Donovan before I get up there."
The time was coming up sooner rather than later and as Jax turned to look at Morthos,"You were going to come to right? To ask about that book!"
She eyed him for a few minutes, before turning to smile at her sis,"See ya in a bit."
She turned heading towards the arena, knowing her match was about to start. She noted that Morthos was right beside her as she entered into the ground floor,"If I end up in the ER can you grab my sister. I don't want her seeing me being carted off. Not that I am going there. Just..you know.."
She eyed Titan at the other end of the room, he was practicing with his broadsword, his moves calculated. She also noted the crowd filling in. Titan had only fought six times but he was a crowd favorite. Unbeatable was close to god-like in this room and her Jax knew that most of these people were betting on her losing this battle. "They all think he is going to crush me.." She turned smiling to Morthos, her eyes glowing with an unburdened confidence,"If only they knew..he is only the beginning."
She broke off from him heading into the middle of the arena, turning only once to wink at him, as she pulled out her scythe, letting it spin around her hand as the doors closed behind her.
She turned around to stare over at Titan, resting the scythe over her shoulder,"Round two?"
Titan gave her the once over, smirking widely,"You shouldn't have challenged me again. I won't go easy on you like I did when you were a freshman."
Jax grit her teeth, her expression cold,"I won't be beaten so easily this time. I am warning you now Titan, I am going to walk out of this arena with your position, regardless if I break every bone to do it."
He eyed her coldly, shaking his head,"Naive little girl. Shall we get on with this then."
Jax turned to the referee, acknowledging the start of the fight. The ref put up his hand, demanding silence as the crowd began to quiet, Jax raised her scythe getting in position as she waited for the bell. The silence held for a second before finally, the whistle went and Jax moved. Titan waited as the small girl ran at him, his stance strong as he cut up with his sword. Jax twisted, a smirk growing on her face as she fell to her side sliding just under the blade to cut through his leg her scythe cutting up into one of his legs. He twitched, turning to the left just as fast, the blade coming to hit her just at her waist. She was on her feet quickly putting up the scythe to block the blade. It sent her back but she was unscathed. She turned twisting the scythe up over her arm, to wrap around her neck as she kicked out trying to land a kick to his knee. He moved just in time, kicking out to catch her in the back. She just managed to get her scythe in the way, but again she was pushed back, her boots skidding against the concrete. She reset her footing then came at him again, her blade placement moving across her arms hitting his blade with a sharp clatter of metal.
The weight of every strike slammed into her body, her arms shaking from the impact. She couldn't keep this up forever, but she was fast. She took a blow to the left, blocking with the metal bar, She pulled the bar over trying to get around it, as she slammed the blade in the ground, jumping up to kick Titan square in the jaw. He took a step back, rage covering his features as he came at her full swing. Jax jumped to the right, barely missing the blade as it came to break the concrete in waves. She arched her blade up getting a large cut on his arm, his blood dripping down onto the floor in sparse spots. She needed to hit hit harder. For him to really bleed. She was about to go at him again when he jumped up planning to aim downward, halfway through his hit he turned aiming to the left, Jax knew the blade was going to hit her, so she arched into it, taking the scrape down her arm and torso only to twist the scythe up and along his chest. Before she could regain her footing he kicked out straight into her gut and she went flying. Her body hit the concrete twice before smashing into the wall at an odd angle. Jax fell to the concrete, her breath choppy as she felt a wet liquid run down her cheek. She grit her teeth just standing up when she found the blade coming down at her. She jumped to the left, placing her hands on the ground and pushing off to land on her feet. She was in pain but it was bearable. She moved her scythe up to block another swing only to have a fist come at her for an uppercut. She jumped up in enough time, to kick off his chest and fall to her back.
The blade came down on her, and she held her scythe up to block it, her arms vibrating harshly against his incredible strength. She swore, for a few seconds before she pushed the bar to her left, using the blade to come at an arc on the blade. She gripped the bar scooting to the side only to come up and hit him with the end of the scythe in the face, and the blade scraping his hands. More blood dripped off of him as she came at him again. This time he was ready for it. He pushed the blade to the side, grabbing Jax's arm with ease as he ripped her off of her feet throwing her around his body once before flinging her with full strength to the other side of the arena, her scythe falling to the ground at his feet. She hit the ground with enough force to crack it, her arm exploding in agonizing pain. Her body stopped at the wall again, blood now visible on her lip. Her jacket lay slightly off her shoulder and her boots were stained in red. She lay still, agony filling her as tears ran down her face..NO....NO...NOT AGAIN.
