Marcus watched as the Growlithe took the electric attack head on, impressed by the resilience of the puppy Pokemon. It looked as though the shock from Shinx's attack only strengthened Growlithe's grip from the bite. "Ember" Marcus heard Satou yell to his Growlithe.
"Shinx, quick get out of the way!" Marcus ordered.
All at once, the Growlithe spring-boarded back, releasing his bite, launching a barrage of flames directly at Shinx. Moving as fast as he could Shinx managed to somewhat move out of the way, the attack nailing his rear half. Shinx flew backwards down the dock, only a couple feet from Marcus now, his hind legs still somewhat smoking from the attack, his breath a rapid pant now, the damage taken becoming apparent.
"Are you ok to keep going buddy?" Marcus asked his partner, the concern showing somewhat in his voice. Shinx turned his head back, nodding to Marcus affirming he was still in this fight.
"Alright, use Spark again!!" Marcus told Shinx. This time, the large ball of electricity formed on the tip of his nose and mouth again, only once reaching its peak size, Shinx launched it across the dock directly headed for Growlithe's position.
