On a distant moon, a religious order was set up by a wealthy billionaire. This order was known as 'Cosmanism' and worshipped no god, but paid homage to the natural harmonious order of the Universe. Cosman's believe in fate, and that there was some structure of order and purpose to all things. This could not be influenced as the future being written was a core doctrine, but it could be celebrated. And so Cosmanism had a fairly successful tenure as a religion, but like most new religions in this era of galactic expansion and colonisation, it didn't last very long, and soon died out as it's followers did.

The temple remained. In it's heyday it was guarded and patrolled by the best Combat Robots money could buy, but they were abandoned along with it, and they all succumbed to rust, or the wearing of time. All but one. But that one, remaining robot went haywire, and any life form at all in now a threat to be executed on site. Around this time, stories started circulating about treasure and riches left within this temple, guarded by a mad, murderous guardian. These rumors somehow reached your ears and you decided to travel to this Temple, confident that you'll be the one to finally secure the treasure.

Elizabeth walked up to the temple, her blades jumping lightly with each step. She had been hired by some rich kid to take out whatever it was that had been guarding the place for years now. Honestly, Elizabeth had thought the guy (who was only a couple years younger than her) was an idiot. However, money was money, and she needed some really soon. As such, the woman now found herself in this predicament.

Walking up the temple's stairs, the light wind of the night made her coat and hair flutter. Placing either hand against the great doors, Elizabeth pushed them open. All that could be seen of the woman from the inside was the shadow of her form and the electric blue glow of her eye.

Light. Natural light. The Robot lurking in the shadows snapped to life. There was another intruder in the Temple, at it must be eliminated. As Elizabeth moved through the central foyer, she'd feel something watching her. Red and green light were blinking all around her, as along with the marble pillars, portraits and purple carpets, the foyer was also stacked with computers, wall to wall. A great show of wealth and power from an insecure man long passed. Still, everything she could see looked valuable, though if there was 'treasure', it would likely be found further on.

Before she managed to leave the foyer, the sound of machinery was suddenly heard, and a 9 foot war robot suddenly jetted into view, blocking the exit. It squared it's sighs on you, and then opened fire with it's minigun.

Elizabeth sighed, a bored expression on her face as the rounds of the minigun slammed into the floor on either side of her. They never learned did they? You can't kill someone who controls metal with bullets, even if it was a hail of bullets. However, what the robot was doing was successfully keeping Elizabeth trapped in place. It was taking all of her focus to make sure not a single bullet hit her, but that focus was wasting away rather quickly. Elizabeth winced as several bullets barely nicked her limbs. Soon, oh god, let the gun overheat soon.

Elizabeth's mind raced to find a way out of her predicament. There it was! In a spurt of adrenaline, the woman dashed forwards as a bullet grazed the length of her wing. Crying out in pain, Elizabeth managed to escape the rain of bullets. Her eye was now locked onto the death machine. The only thing standing between her and the exit. However, Elizabeth wasn't thinking about leaving. An insane smile covered her face as she roared in her own laughter. Finally, her boredom might be over for a while. Taking one of the daggers that hung across her bandolier, Elizabeth activated its plasma edge. Flinging it at the minigun, Elizabeth dodged behind a series of computers.

The robot examined the data in front of it. It was firing directly at the intruder but the bullets were veering off to the side, missing the target completely. There were several explanations in it's data-bank, but they all amounted to the same result; The target is making the bullets change directory. Ballistics are ineffective. That didn't, however, mean that guns couldn't hurt the target.

The intruder had moved out of the line of fire, so the robot repositioned to get her back in it's sights, when she suddenly laughed, pulled a dagger, and threw it. The plasma edge pierced one of the minigun barrels. The robot didn't flinch, but neither did it immediately attack. It was surveying the damage done to it and calculating new tactics for a split second. 'Minigun barrel damaged. Effectiveness of weapon minimised, though not inoperable. Switch to rockets.'

As it's shoulder-mounted rocket launcher aimed down at Elizabeth, the robot's clawlike hands reached up and pulled the dagger from the minigun barrel, and let it fall to the floor as a volley of three explosive rockets were fired at Elizabeth's current location.

Taking a deep breath, Elizabeth let her consciousness fall. Into energy she became, nothing more than a bolt of lightning, an order that could not be denied. Lightning flashed between her corporeal body and the computers next to her. With a whining groan they moved. Reversal, from monitor top computer, computer to the rest of the temple. Lightning blue eyes opened when control was gained. She had ripped sight from machine. It had undoubtedly been connected at some point to the mainframe, but now it could use none of that. It was truly on its own.

Of course, she hadn't notice the missiles until now. In a panic she rolled out of the way, lightning arcing around her. While the majority of the attack missed her, one of the explosions grazed her wing. While not crippled, she definitely couldn't fly anymore. Running out from behind the computers, Elizabeth could see through the mainframe. Taking out her sword, she ran. Charging the metallic behemoth, Elizabeth's footsteps left behind sparks of lightning. Her fangs bared wide, the girl snarled at the thing. Then, bringing her blade in close, she pushed the tip up into the behemoth's torso. Her lightning flashed, running down the length of her sword. Please let this hurt it!

An error message sounded in the robot's brain, warning it that it it's connection to the mainframe was lost, and new actions must be a calculated, but those actions stayed the same. A slave to it's core programming in the absence of commands from it's Cosman masters, the mainframe had been quiet for decades. The robot used it to scan and sense the goings on of the entire temple, but here, with it's foe in this room, the robot's own audio and heat sensors could detect the enemy's location and stance, using it to predict future activity.

The robot had noticed that the intruder's wing had been damaged and that aerial combat and manoeuvring would be impeded. They would have a harder time avoiding attacks. Of course, it seemed to favour melee combat with it's sword. 'Countermeasure:Remove sword'. The robot, instead of blocking or deflecting the sword, or dodging, positioned itself quickly so that the sword would penetrate non-vital components, and once inserted into the chest plate, would be grabbed by the robot's hands tightly. At that point, the robot would reverse it's jet thrusters and boost backwards as fast as it could, in an effort to force Elizabeth to let go of her sword.
