The disease is here, along with the dead. It's like a Hollywood Zombie Thriller came to life and is taking over the world. The beasts are hungry. Hungry for flesh. The bloodborne illness is inside us all, and only comes out post-death, but when it does, it comes with a killer side effect. The once dead rise in a matter of minutes, munching on anything they can find. They're mindless and follow the scent of blood where ever it may lead. With this new outbreak, society has fallen apart. What will you do about the oncoming horde?
This little game of ours is on the Eastern edge of the United States of America. From Pennsylvania to North Carolina, and Kentucky to the sea. Of course, the disaster is more spread out than just the east, but that's the hotspot. The dead zone, as it were.

*Hidden background (Optional): Something that'll be more, *cough* hidden *cough* from the other players. Make sure you PM the GM or the CO GM
1. Be Respectful. Keep the drama and fighting in the IC or in a PM. Picking a fight in the OOC just needlessly complicates things. 2. Ask before fast traveling, killing/fighting someone, or any large action you plan on doing. 3. Basic Roleplay Rules (I.E. No God Mode, Don't Waste Time, Don't be an Ass, etc.) 5. Last off, it's not a requirement, but have some fun! Why bother doing something if it won't give you pleasure, whether that be in the now or in the future?
Louise is of French and Irish descent, giving her a pale complexion all year round. She was born with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair, but prefers to dye her hair various shades of blonde. She is around 5ft 9 tall, making her a bit above average for height for a female. She weighs around 130 lbs, keeping relatively slim and lacking in curves. She doesn't have any tattoos or piercings, and isn't very interested in either.
- Has a yellow backpack on her back with a koala bear patch. Contains: a couple pairs of clothes, a water bottle and a pocket knife. No money.
▪ Skills ▪
Powerful. Inflexible. Team Player. Endurance. Slow.
Like a modern day valkyrie, Louise stands as a tall and powerful woman warrior. What she lacks in speed and flexibility she makes up for in giving and taking hard hits. She can be a dirty trickster using her wits and charm to outsmart her foes. Louise can do great on her own but works even better when she has a trusted partner or an unified team on her side.
▪ Fears ▪
Drowning. Louise can NOT swim.
▪ Background ▪
Before the huge outbreak Louise had basic dreams of going to college to become a dental hygienist. It wasn't her dream job, but it seemed like a reasonable thing to do. She lived with her father and mother in a small two bedroom apartment in New York. They never had too many troubles or worries. Lou's parents were at work when the infection really had it's biggest blow that took over most of the population. She hasn't found her parents, but has very high hopes to find them. As of right now, she is just trying to survive every day and hopes to find that there are others like her. Just wanting to survive.
She is rather short for her age, petite and slender, with sandy brown hair and fair skin. Her brown eyes are slightly almond shaped, but can open up to be very wide. She appears to be generally quite light in weight, around a hundred pounds or so. She wears no piercings, even in her ears.
▪ Birth State ▪
Brighton, Sussex, England. Moved to Manhattan, New York, just shortly before all hell broke loose
▪ Family members ▪
No one. Just Lizzie
▪ Role/Occupation ▪
Student Doctor
▪ Starting Fortune ▪
A large grey backpack with a red cross on the back, filled with a spare change of clothes, a first aid kit, a bottle of drinking water, food, a small laptop and a specialized survival knife. A pocket purse with a few hundred dollars. A cell phone and a charger (Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) if you must know). A briefcase filled with documents detailing what little research was done concerning the virus taken from Patient Zero.
Lizzie is a lot tougher than even she realizes, and is capable of brilliant solutions when she's not second-guessing herself. She is highly organized in an obsessive-compulsive and unorthodox manner, and a quick learner, with a fairly impressive memory. Not the kind to settle for a standard answer or solution, she often seeks out things others wouldn't think of seeking in order to achieve success. It was what allowed her to survive a spreading virus that had already overtaken New York and yet escape relatively unscathed. It helps that she is also a fast runner, has knowledge on boats and living on the seaside, and can swim.
Smart though she may be, Lizzie is a very nervous and skittish person even without coffee. She often thinks things over too much, or obsesses over the tiny details in an effort to cover any margin of error, but as a result takes too long, and it doesn't help that she's full of doubts of her own abilities and feels no security in what she knows. She also can't fight to save her life, and gives in to panic if she gets overwhelmed by aggressors, rendering her quite useless in a fight. Her jumpy nature causes her to get easily distracted by almost anything.
▪ Greatest Fear ▪
The undead. Seeing something that, by all intents and means, is dead, and yet moving? Call mother. Now.
▪ Background/History ▪
Born and raised by the seaside in Brighton, England, Lizzie had a fisherman and a seamstress for parents, and went into medical school through a scholarship. She was a prodigy of sorts, picked up things quickly, and had a promising career ahead of her. She became interested in the study of bacteria and diseases and their effects in humanity's history. After several years in Hampton University and a hospital near her own hometown, she received a foreign internship in the US, which brought her to Manhattan, New York, and a fine hospital to work in, when things took a turn for the worst.
A dock worker had been brought in after exposure to a spore-like fungi in a container that came from South America caused the man to become rabid and incoherrent. He had attacked several co-workers, reportedly biting and scratching. Lizzie worked with a doctor who extracted blood samples and began to make notes. Unfortunately, nurses working on the dock worker began to exhibit similar symptoms due to the presence of the spores on the man's body. Before too long, the entire hospital was spreading with the rabid infection. Lizzie only barely escaped after collecting all the data into a briefcase.
She briefly took shelter in her rented apartment, taking stock of the situation, and before media outlets stopped broadcasting, learnt that the infection had since spread into the city itself. Packing all that she could find of use, Lizzie cautiously evaded the undead in the streets, until she made it dockside, where she commandeered a luxury speedboat and began to make her journey southwards, in hopes of finding uninfected survivors, and a working lab or hospital, where she could continue to figure out the cause of the infections and how to stop it.

After years of service under the police force, Rocky retired with honor and was under its operator Rick's care. Rocky was having a stroll within the neighborhood led by a part time dog walker (Rick was on police duty) when the outbreak occurred.
Swarm of zombies took on the dog walker within seconds and devoured her. Rocky was frightened and confused by the sudden turn of events and escaped back to its owner's house. It would soon realize that it was no longer safe to go home.
Will write a background story on how the trio gets together and depends on each other.
Appearance: Hunter is a Caucasian male who stands at about 5'10", with no real muscle build to him. His his is dark brown, shaggy, and is in need of any real grooming it can get. It's not necessarily long, but a decent hair cut wouldn't hurt either. Due to Hunter thinking he can do anything his hands are covered with scars and slight burns.
Generally he wears T-shirts, cargo pants, and if if he needs a jacket it will be one with pockets. Most of his T-shirts are references to shows, movies, comics, or just gimmick shirts in general. He does own camouflage that he likes to wear from time to time, but for every day life he doesn't wear it a lot. He does have a thing for hats though, if he finds a hat he likes he will try to wear it for as long as possible. Or until he finds one he likes more.
Age: 23
Birth State: Hunter was born in Central New York. He did a decent amount of traveling as a kid but for the most part he stayed close to there. When things started to get really bad he tried to work his way to family in Florida. He wasn't able to get very far with what he had.
Family members: Hunter has a rather big Family, Five sisters, two brothers, more cousins then he can count, and a collection of aunts and uncles. Though most of his family is spread around the eastern half of the US his closest family members are in New York and Florida. As of this point in time, he took a gamble to get to his family in Florida thinking his family in New York were better off. Stubbornness only goes so far, how he is away from everyone.
Role/Occupation: Hunter was a college student in basics, a little slow to start but one none the less. He worked part time at a cashiering job, and went to a few classes. Lived at home, rarely went out due to social issues, and pretended to know a lot about computers. Actually pretended to know about a lot of things.
Though he pretends to know a lot of things and doesn't, it's not that he is lying, he falls under the "Jack of all trades master of none." He would be able to follow along with someone who knew how to do things, but he is extremely limited to what he can do on his own outside table top games like risk.
Starting Fortune: -old pump action shotgun -Odds and ends of tools -A collection of random shells for the shotgun -About $237 in cash -Small car with a hatchback door
Strengths: Hunter has a few strength that help keep him alive. One is he can at least do minimal performance in most fields. He is also a decent liar, to others and himself. He has the ability to convince himself that things are not as bad as they seem in many cases. He knows how to safely use firearms and can fire then pretty accurately. He also tends to have a caring heart, meaning he will try to protect people when he can reasonably pull it off.
Weaknesses: hunter is scared of close to everything. Spiders, loud noises, the dark, not clowns though. He is normally able to hide his feelings about his fears, but it can be seen in his actions when he hesitates. He also has an issues with human internals. Not blood so much, but organs, muscle, all of that fun stuff. It's a little easier on the dead since it's mostly useless for them. But on the living, he may pass out. He also has pretty harsh social issues. So he may have issues trying to talk to people, even when there are only a couple left in the world.
Another rather major weakness of his would be he thinks he can do more then he actually can. For example, he may be able to tell what is wrong with a car, but he would have no idea how to fix it. He would try anyways. Most of the skills he has mastered are considered basic at best though, he can do basic shooting, basic cleaning, driving, things like that. Nothing too complicated.
Greatest Fear: Hunter's biggest fear is death. He is scared to die, and he is scared of how he will die. And scared of being forgotten.
Background/History: Hunter was raised in a military family, with a third of his family being in some form of the armed services. Because of this, he has known how to handle a firearm most of his life. Unlike a lot of his family though, he never joined any armed forces, and he never went hunting. Most of his time with firearms was spent on the shooting range.
Hunter's household specifically had been split at a young age. He personally didn't care a lot, but it never helped with finances. Even when things seemed to be good, they started to go get worse not long after. He always had what he needed to get by though. Even if it was lower quality then the kids around him.
Once at the age of 19 he moved onto school with mixed results, talking only a couple classes at a time so he could still hold down a job. In doing so though he had enough to pay for a car, some decent computer equipment, and the books he needed for school. He spent his life like this for years, working, school, pretending to sleep as he found something simple to do online. Basic collage life.
When things started to get bad he decided to make a break for it, pulling together what cash he could get his hands on and gathering what supplies he could fit into his car, he set out on the road to find his family in Florida. In his head the family he had in New York were better off. They had more guns, more people, and more supplies. His family in Florida were fewer, and had a lot less to them. On his way out he was able to obtain an old shotgun (Legally an antique a few years from this date as a fun fact), it was a gun that had once belonged to his grandfather. It could hold most any 12 gauge round in it, and it had already survived the test of time. He felt ready to take on the world.
A few weeks later he ran out of gas trying to avoid road blocks. He refuses to go far from his car out of fear he will need some supplies he can't carry with him, so most of his time is spent gathering fuel to move his car little by little. Sometimes he will be stopped for weeks at a time waiting for bad events to pass or having trouble finding gas or food, working up the nerve to go further from his only familiar place to him. At this point in time he isn't trying to get to his family, at this point he is trying to make sure he can hold out himself. He figures at this point they are either alive or they are not.
Big question here, @Traps. How could * counts on fingers* a four-year-old survive the zombie apocalypse? Does she have a guardian? Is she not really four? How is the amnesia thing going to play out exactly? Is he going to get his memories back? Is he going to form completely new ones? And I have two conditions 1. You can have the little girl, just try not to make her annoying 2. Play your Amnesia character well, try not to fall into tropes. Oh, and for the love of god, be medically correct. Don't bonk him in the head and then suddenly he remembers.
Also, I'm all for your dog, plus don't let it end up like Rick's horse ;-;
~~~
@Remipa Awesome, you're approved. I'll be sure to scatter around shells for you ;P
@LordofthePies I'm planning for the amnesia guy to protect her here. xD Also yeah, "Rick" is having a temporally graded (not permanent) retrograde amnesia (I looked up the condition). It happened after the shopping mall's floor collapsed suddenly. The abrupt change in acceleration and deceleration could induce a traumatic brain injury called diffuse axonal injury (DAI). DAI is hard to detect because of its nature. He will have a chance to eventually recover though. It takes time and therapy.
My plan is that they would get to know each other after an introduction, but (with permission from the other player of course) I will gladly allow them to know each other. Think of it as optional, @Remipa Awesome
Added background details to the amnesia guy. He is actually a psychopath... think I'll make him my main character xD. Didn't put in story on how the trio meets each other, I'll put in bit by bit during RP narrating in hindsight perspective.
I was thinking either we would start beginning of next week or whenever we got a 5th character. I was considering making one but my brain doesn't really want to work today. If I do decide to make a character I'll let everyone know when we can get rolling. Same if I don't want to wait for Monday to roll around.
